deposit error
Bank error in your favor! Collect $200.00! Yeah, right! I don't think so. Exactly one week ago I had made a deposit of $250 into my checking account. I made sure to save the transaction slip and filed it away. The next day, Saturday, I went online to check my ledger's balance against the balace given on my online statement page. I was shocked to find that the amount deposited into my account Friday afternoon was not $250.00 but rather $2.50. As it was Saturday after 1pm I knew I would not be able to speak to anyone. I did make 3 attempts to contact US Bank's customer service department via telephone but was unsuccessful. I only recieved busy signals each time. (Not sure if that was my cell provider's fault or the Bank's)
I decided at that point there was nothing I could do until Tuesday the 31st of May as the 30th was Mermorial day and a Federal holiday that banks close for. So I reported my problem to the bank where I made the deposit. The teller who took my deposit on the previous Friday was there so I spoke with that individual. I made sure to provide a copy of and the orignal copy of the deposit slip and printed versions of my online statement that reflected a deposit of $250.oo but showed on the same page only $2.50 being deposited. The teller in turned spoke with the assitant branch manager who instructed the teller to phone a corporate number. After waiting for 30 minutes for the teller to get back to me, I was informed there was nothing the branch could do for me immediatly. I would have to wait 48hrs for a temperary deposit of my missing $247.50. The teller and assistant manager explained that the investigation would take place over the next two days before I would then recieve my funds again. Mind you that the deposit I made was $250.oo in CASH, not check or any other form of currency but legal tender in the form of U.S. dollar bills.
I was further shocked at the repsonce they gave when I asked for some sort of finacial compensation for the banks error: "There is nothing we can do for you. But please go ahead and pay your bills and if you gather any over draft fees we will be glad to remove them from your account." EXCUSE ME?! WHAT?! My jaw hit the floor at that reply! To make matters worse, it was the assistant manager who told me that. Well, I explained to that individual that I did not find that acceptible and felt a matter of $35 for the initial error plus $7 a day for however number of days it took to resolve this matter was more appropiate. (That is what I was hit with 2 years ago when I was over drawn by less than $20.00 thru my own admitted error with the same bank.) The assistant manager told me that was not possible and did not offer any other compensation save to go ahead and over draw my account.
Well, 48 hrs came and went. No money in my account. I woke this morning to find the error corrected but it was dated for yesterday. I know it was not a late night deposit as I also checked my online statement at 12:07 am this morning, 3 June 2011. I again went to the same US Bank branch and asked to speak to the branch manager. I explained my situation to the branch manager and made sure to include in my statement that all persons I spoke with were polite and curtious as they were but that I did not find this situation in the least bit acceptible. The branch manager proceded to offer me $25 as an apology and admitted that the staff made and error in not reporting this to the branch manager. I did my best to graciously decline the offer and explained that my time, trouble and the inconvenience this has caused me was not acceptible. I relayed my justification for recieving $35 for the initial mistake and $7 a day for each day afterwards. The branch manager declined at first to consider my proposal. After I relayed the fact that the bank's own policy was exactly that when I was overdrawn by an ammount less than $20 that I felt my request more than fair as the bank's error was well over $200.
The branch manager called me today after speaking with superiors. Still the best that is offered is $25 for a bank error that took seven days to resolve and was admited by the branch manager that it could have been solved the moment I stepped back into the bank. I should ask for more compensation but will be happy to recieve just the $77 I asked for at the start of today, Friday the 3rd of June. I suppose the best I will get will be the $25. Sadly I cannot say that I will be with this Bank much longer if my request is not granted.
I would hate to have to leave the bank as I find the persons working there to be so nice! But policies such as theirs thus far are not acceptible. Why should I be held liable for mistakes with one policy but the bank holds themselves to much more lenient rules in their favor. To then suggest that I should go ahead and over draw my account is just intolerable. If I was asking for a full $247.50 credit to my account in addition to what was missing I could see a flat out NO from US Bank. Sadly though, my very small request of an amount that is less than peanuts to a business like US Bank corp. seems to be too much to ask for. Truthfully, maybe my money is better off under my mattress or shoved in a small fireproof safe in my home behind a picture on the wall. I should note that if this situation was resolved immediately on Tuesday the 30th of May, that I would proabably have been more receptive to the idea of only recieving $25 in compensation. Too bad the entire situation was drug out for 7 days.
I am sad to report to this community that even the simple offer of a $25 credit has been neglected on behalf of US Bank. I did visit the branch on June 4, this past saturday. The purpose of my visit was to accept the $25 credit to my account after being told via a voicemail that the bank is unable to grant my request of a $77 credit. The person I spoke with, who I originally thought to be the branch assistant manager, informed me that they were indeed just a normal banker. The person did take my information and verified my account number and the situtation and told me that the $25credit would be added to my account the following Monday, June 6. The banker did tell me that the credit may not show until the 7th. Today is Wednesday the 8th and there is no sign of a credit.
I grow tired of this issue. At this point I feel there is nothing that I can do to gain any compensation for the bank's error. At this point I shall wait until my last written check clears and withdraw my remaining funds from the bank. I know that there are members of the US Bank Corp whom read the complaints from this sight as I have verification from a popular consumer research radio show in Atlanta, Ga, : The Clark Howard Show.
To the members of the US Bank Corp whom read this: I intend to withdraw my funds from your bank as soon as my outstanding checks have cleared. I will leave the bank and not recommend your services to any person whom asks. I will not bash your company. I will not praise your company. I leave this message in hopes that US Bank Corp will correct this error. Should the error be corrected and my requested compensation be granted and taking into account all the days from the start of the error through the final correction ($35 plus $7/day -today being June8, 2011 with the situation still not resolved by means of my fair and justified compensation) I will indeed make a post on this same sight stating that US Bank has made the error right and completely satisfied my requests as a consumer. Untill, the error is corrected I will make no such statement for the public to see.
The deposit was made inside the branch by a teller.
u.s. bank in holladay sucks!
I have been a member of America First Credit Union for a long time and have always loved them! I used the U.S. Bank ATM because it was with in walking distance of where I needed the cash. I walked out the door and realized I didn't grab my card and when I walked back in the card had all ready been sucked back into the ATM. I called the U.S. Bank customer service and told them what had happened and they told me if I brought my I.D. in when the bank re-opened in the morning I could get my card back. I came back when the bank re-opened and they said they would destroy my card because it was not a U.S. bank card. They said they had it but they would not give it back to me! I was there for an hour with my screaming baby and they would not budge. I went to America First Credit Union to order the the card again and they said that when non- America First members get their cards stuck in their ATM machine they call a number to verify the card is not fraudulent and then the card can be picked up with I.D...
U.S. Bank is sooooo dumb. I was there with my I.D... I could prove who I was and my card was only foot steps away and the jerks would not give it back! I will never bank there and I will tell all of my friends and post this story all over the internet for people to stay away from this stupid bank!

poor customer experience
I paid off my auto loan account on May 16th, 2011 and the funds cleared via an ACH transaction on May 18th. I requested that the Title be expedited. I called US Bank Customer NO-Service daily after paying off the loan, requesting that they rush the title package to me. At first they requested that my bank write them a letter saying that the funds cleared and will not be returned. On the 19th my bank's manager faxed the letter (2nd time). They also requested that I send them my credit card information so that they can charge me for the rush delivery. I refused to put in on paper and fax it for security reasons, but I called and gave customer NO-service my credit card information. Next day (May 20th, 2011)I called to verify that they rushed the title to me, the customer NO-service apologized and said that they didn't rush it but by mistake mailed it to me. Today (May 26th, 2011) after waiting for the title to arrive by mail for a whole week, it didn't arrive, so I called the customer NO-service again to see what is wrong. I was advised that the package was mailed to me only today. It was extremely important for me to receive the title as I sold my car. It seemed that no one at the bank cared at all and actually lied to (that it was mailed last Friday), and as if willfully Randy at Loan Support decided to delay the processing and mailing of my title. At the end of each call the customer No service is programmed to say "Is there anything else that we can help you with, Sir?" What a bad joke and poor customer experience.
fraudulent overdraft fees
I made 3 purchases and went over by 50$ and was charged 3 overdraft fees. When I only should have been charged 1.
So what is the physical address for this company. So we can go to them.
well this is what happens when a bank deals with broke [censored] crumbs! they complain about being charged for spending someone elses money. then they try to throw the its my unemployment card. you already getting free money from the state and you want the banks money to be free too broke [censored]!
Yeah Well I want to know why the hell Im getting charged a 1.50 fee to withdraw my unemployment insurance benefits with a US bank reliacard at a Local US Bank Branch! WTF!
Here is an example of how US Bank stole my money!
Available beginning balance on reliacard 08/01 $300.00
purchase made at store processed as "credit" -30.00
verified AVAILABLE balance remaining as +270.00
purchase made at store processed as "credit" 08/02 -20.00
verified my available balance remaining as +$250.00
atm withdrawl using pin # at us bank atm 08/05 -260.00
available balance 08/05 -10.00
available balance 08/07 -61.00!
Reliacard fee per NSF is just $17.00 each (i know it's better than most)
I was at an ATM that could only dispense 20's, doesnt matter why, I knew I would be responsible for one NSF fee for overdrawing my account the $10.00 and thought I would be at -27.00. But nooooo... I had 3 fee's instead of one!
Their explanation for the three overdraft fee's? The $30.00 store purchase on 08/01 and the $20.00 store purchase on 08/02 were still "pending" when I withdrew the $260.00 on 08/05. The stores had not yet sent through the paperwork to US Bank so I got three fee's and not one because they hadn't "officially" cleared my account yet. So if the purchases werent "officially" cleared yet through my account than why do the purchase amounts immediatly come off my available balance?! Seems pretty "official" to me! Crooks!
It is not the total amount $50, It is three times you went overdraft.
That is three times they had to cover your negative balance.
3 purchases equals 3 overdraft fees.
Get overdraft protection.
fees for ira certificates of deposit
I opened two small IRA Certificates of Deposit at US Bank - one in March 2009 and one in April 2010. In May of 2011 they send me a letter and are charging me a $30 per year fee on these accounts. I have almost 3 years left and am now required to pay $30 per year. I requested to take my money out of US Bank because when I opened the CD's they assured me there were no fees, but if I do I would have to pay hundreds of dollars in penalties. The only way I won't have to pay a fee is if I deposit $25, 000 which I can't afford to do. I have banked there for over 20 years and thought they were one of the few decent banks left, but when my obligations are met at US Bank, I am leaving the bank and drawing out my savings, checking and IRA.
It's now 2017, and nothing has changed. I was just informed again of the charges. It appears that have got away with this fraud.
April, I change my IRA and lock it in for five years with U.S. bank for 2 ½ %. I was told that there was no maintenance fee. A few weeks ago I received a letter from U.S. Bank saying that I owe $30.00 maintenance fee.
I feel like I got screwed by the bank representative. She told me that there was no maintenance fee plan anytime soon. I have just over $11, 000 in the IRA. I figured $11, 000 times .025 is $275.00 per year and with the $30.00 maintenance fee I now will get $245.00 for a smaller growth each year following this year. U.S. Bank will make $1500.00 from me.
Can one claim the maintenance fee as a right off on federal tax?
I will be filing a complaint with the Comptroller of the Currency Administrator of National Banks and is a department of the Treasury. www.helpwithmybank.gov
Definitely file a complaint through www.helpwithmybank.gov. I just received a letter yesterday from US Bank stating I can close/transfer both of my IRA CDs before July 11 with no penalty and I can avoid the $30 fee times 2 (I have both a Trad and Roth there). This was a direct result of filing the complaint. The US Bank letter referenced my Case #.
Use the tool that you can use now .Don`t wish for a class action suit we may never see.Go to helpwithmybank.gov. and file a easy complaint .What USBANK is doing is not legal. What good is any broken contract? What is the limit they can charge ?If they can get $30.00 now, Why not not $1000. next time?
Evidently USBank has done some math decided they can do without the IRA business they will be losing . I am looking for a rollover opportunity-- but they charge for that as well. I would love to add my name to a class action lawsuit- (Betting that was in their calculation too) USBANK DOES NOT CARE ABOUT SMALL CUSTOMERS.
Have just sent a complaint to, Office of the Currency 1114 Avenue of the Americas, Suite 3900 New York, NY 19936 Use the web site-www.helpwithmybank.gov.They have a easy form to fill out and email.Just seems like we need more people to complain.Could you just up and change what you pay on your car in the middle of a loan contract? Thanks Martin
The same thing has happened to me. I am shocked and outraged. Last year they unilaterally imposed a $10 fee which I paid under protest. This year they have increased the fee to $30. When I asked to be allowed to close out by Roth IRA without penalty I was told that I would have to pay an early withdrawal penalty plus a $30 close out fee. NONE OF THIS WAS DISCLOSED WHEN I OPENED THE C.D. I hope we can all join to file a class action lawsuit because it is a total disregard of the agreement with U.S. Bank and gives the bank all the control and nothing to us. What if next year they decide to raise the fee to $100. Essentially, they are eating up all of the interest so they don't have to pay us anything. R. Lal.
They are charging my account the $30.00 too. They are charging 3 account numbers .I only have two small roth accounts.NONE of the account numbers match my accounts.I have saved all of my origonal contracts.I wounder if they changed my account numbers so they could charge me the $30.00 fee for rolling the mony out of the origonal account or something?I am very afraid of this bank.Once they become so dishonest where is the limit?Could they just make a new rule to take half or three quarters of everything I have? They are so big .How does one fight something like US Bank?Could someone advise of what can be done? Martin G
We need a lawyer when US Bank break a rule when we first opened.
They said no fee UNDER$ 5, 000 but I transfer more then $15, 000, they still charge $30 today.
If I withdraw it, I have to pay $30 PLUS $25 plus 3% which is less then an amount when I transfer it to them, around $5, 055 fee.
US Bank is a money sucker machine, I lost money after more than a year rate 2.96/3%.
Please let me know any lawyer because this is a WIN WIN CASE for every one.
I now know how it feels to deal with crooks... I am not sure where they expect me to find that money in the next 2 weeks, but it isn't going to happen. I told a U.S. Bank supervisor on the phone this morning that she can take the $30 annual fee out of my IRA this time, but as soon as my IRA matures in May, 2012, I will be rolling it over to another bank. They will charge $25 to do so, but at least they won't be getting anymore money out of me after that. I truly feel sick at this moment...They are getting away with it, and I can't do anything to stop them.
excessive fees
My youngest son is starting college this Fall. My husband and I helped him open a student checking account at US Bank. With the exception of the initial deposit of $100.00 the absolute lowest his actual daily balance ever fell to in six weeks was $132.16. Even though he never overdrew his account, US Bank charged him $315.00 in negative balance and overdraft fees. Our son did not understand he had to wait for his deposits to clear before using his check card for purchases. When he received his first statement he asked us what was going on. My husband went with him to a branch office to close the account and the manager told my husband she could not help him since our son opened his account at a different location. The location on campus had already closed for the day so to keep additional charges from accumulating, my husband had to pay another $113.00 to 'make the account current' so it could be closed. In total over the six weeks the account was open, the deposits (none of which were ever returned) were $909.38, our son's withdrawals: $633.20 and US Bank got $428.00 in fees. My husband and I realize this is a life lesson for our youngest who was new to the world of checking accounts, but talk about 'bank robbery', unbelievable!
short sale stupidity
Somebody needs to get the Feds looking into this.
We've been working a Short Sale with US Bank for 2 months now with us making weekly calls in to them. They now claim that they had this file labeled as a Loan Modification and not a Short Sale this whole time and we've got to start over at the beginning.
I think they're lying.
Weekly for 2 months we've asked about the SHORT SALE. So, either they are complete ###s or they are lying. I can't believe they are that incompetent unless the incompetency is intentional.
I forgot to mention -- one more reason for my perspective is we recently had the exact same experience with another bank. I'm thinking the banks have found some sort of loophole in the short sale laws and are exploiting it to give themselves more time.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer’s satisfaction.
Our buyers were going through US bank but couldn't close for three mo cause they are in a lease, so they were good to go, and we had a closing date all set, but they still hadn't done an appraisal on our house ( we are the sellers) so they kept hounding their bank to get it done, but here we are now 7 days before closing, and now they want to extend for a month, so the other couple went to another bank which will push back our closing anyway, but they were sick of the hassel. But for us it's been a nighmare, my husband now has a vacation he cannot change, now the stress is sky high because of US's actions or inactions however you want to look at it. We are all so discusted with this bank and they don't give a darn what trouble they have caused anyone. I would suggest anyone to never go to US bank for anything ever.
Fell behind in mortgage due to pedistrian/truck accident I was in. Sent partical payment, was sent back to me thru attorney office, but not my check, someone elses. Then send 7k cashiers check and they rejected check. HAMP only started after writing several VP's. Has been over 1 year still process not completed. Also reduction less than $100. I agree Fed's should look at US bank.
closing my account without reason
I'd been a customer at us bank for 3 years. last november I'd fraud in my account. I called us bank and I told them. they investigated about the fraud and they give me that time temp credit. in Feb this year. they took back the credit they give me because they didn't got the fraud paper they was expecting from me but I have send them back on april 5 they give me back again a professional credit. but still i'm missing some of my money. and they also told me that my account will stay close for ever and no one didn't explain why my account get closed.
authoriztion
Have you ever noticed that Usbank will make authorizations go through quicker if you get to a low balance. I knew my Tax returned would have been in a few days so I wrote a check to landlord for rent. Normally it takes up too almost 5 to 7 days for them to post to the account. I wrote check on Thursday and Usbank deducted it Saturday. I wrote it knowing how long they normally take and that tax returned would be in today(monday). What is strange it showed they posted the check on friday but it didn't take out until early sunday morning. So if it posts on friday but they don't show until sunday how did post friday. I never even went into the negative on that account just close. When I logged today(monday) My return was there but they also charged me a overdraft fee because the account according to them went .75 cents under. This account said 5.75 before the tax return. But when I right clicked on the check to view it said account at time was -.75 cents. Which is wierd cause I thought as long as it was under ten dollers they waived it. When I called to see way it was .75 under at the time of check I got the run around. Saying you spent it too bad. I understand I cut it close but why I my end it showed 5.75 but on there end it showed .75- . Ive had nothing but problems with all my accounts. I will be closing all my accounts (except car...) with Us Bank. You just can't trust the slimeballs over at Usbank. As Steve Miller sang take the money and run.
I forgot to add info. I'm not a criminal Maggie. Turns out I was right. It updated today and showed "available balance at time 5.75. They waived fee after I went into branch. If my available balance showed 5.75. Then how was the check negative .75 short. They took care of it and I'm happy. Sorry should of gave more info.
Didn't write a bad check. Did you brother to read it. If usbank had updated then i would have been fine.
Either way, its ridiculous to blame the bank for how quickly a charge posts. Checks will only post as quickly or slowly as the recipient cashes them. Your landlord must have really wanted that money in his account for the weekend. Likewise, Debit card and credit card transactions have to first be batched out by the merchant you paid, then sent through the visa/mastercard/discover/amex system, then on to your respective bank and into your account. So like Maggie says, don't spend money that you don't have, that should pretty much take care of things. (that was a general comment, I understand that you werent writing the check for more than your balance)
fraud ignored, mail address changed, etc.
Just saw your site today April 04, 2011 :when suspect was not home, got a junk third -class fees/services mailer and a first class letter from the bank(7/10)--Handed to me! They had closed my account due to overdrawn amt.$180, and added fees.Imead. contact made. I had not gotten any mail in 14 months from them and NEVER gave them that address. Until last week I had worked at this job for 4+ years, I do NOT get mail there. They bank at the same place. Four ways I told U S Bank (customer service, fraud, my branch, HQ calls and letters in rebuttal) about the fraud--and had to do them FOUR TIMES EACH, for weeks, before the harrasing you-better-pay-us letters did (?) stop. I know my credit is showing this. I have to use public computers, and still wait for chek- systems to e-mail me --and I don't think the collections dept. ever stopped the mail. I WILL get my stated-if -you -don't-stop fine (Totals $4, 000) in court. Those DUNCES kept. on using the" mailing address", presenting my social security number and closed account number in those letters! This should never been allowed to happen and the depts. mail did make it worse (not secure). I showed the Post Office. They had records of mine since 2008 to not deliver there. The LA county DAs' office and postal inspectors, others only- online did add this to their projects. Police aren't supose to pass the buck.(I insisted on reports)The Suspect since last summer, has embezzled five figures from a non-profit, continued welfare fraud, all to support her drug habit, impress her in-a-gang, 20 yrs+ her senior" boyfriends". Justice isn't swift. She is probably still getting collections letters that she just throws out. My bank account was only allowed to be used for cashing my paychecks( in person )at that ONE branch. Wash.Mutal was eaten by them . Not my choice.Lost job that paid by check in 9/09.Open account with a low balance was too much for her to resist. To PREVENT this possible misuse of my identity, we had two unique long sentences, not simply passwords to stop her.No mail was sent out. (written out/request) opening it My ID recorded a dif address. No ATM or online use was "allowed" ...Just must have been FANTASY- exercises by these U S Bank staffers to give a false sense of security. Federal govt, credit bureaus, dhs, so many places to spread the word, justice is soooo slow!

a glitch in their system is my problem
In February I withdrew $300.00 from an US Bank ATM at the Albertsons down the road. I have had a US Bank checking acct with a debit card for over ten years and have never mistakenly withdrawn from another acct. I also have a Premiere line of credit as an overdrft protection on the acct as well as another credit card which i have had for two years as an emergency card but have filed it away and never once used this card. Two weeks after withdrawing this money i checked my acct online and saw a balance on my credit card for $314.00. The extra $14.00 was a cash advance fee and interest. My checking acct also showed the same withdrawal on the same day so i called the US bank customer service and after a few hours of transfering back and forth between the checking acct people and the credit card department i was told that it was a glitch in the system and there should only have been one debit and they credited back the money on my credit card. All is good right? Nope. Two weeks later I see an interest charge on the CC again so i call to have that credited back and explain the situation once again, then tell the cc rep just to cancel the credit card since i do not use it anyway. She tells me fine that she can do this and not to worry. Two more weeks and i check my acct online and the credit card once again has a $312.00 balance. Now i am furious and i call and tell the rep i am sick of having to explain the situation and just to get me to a supervisor. The supervisor refuses to listen to what i have already explained and transfers me to the disputes department where the next lady tells me very rudely that it is my error now. and i have to take up the dispute with the checking side because they show that i withdrew the money from the credit card. further, i was told that i would be responsible for all interest charges. How many times have they done something like this? Pretty good racket these crooks have going huh?

two cards linked to one account
OK so i need to know whats going on...
I had a checking account, which obviously comes with a debit card...
A couple of months ago, I closed that account and got a new card and new checking account...I used to have autopay with ATT but ATT has my OLD bank info (my old debit card) Today I checked my account and ATT had taken out 300.00 from my NEW checking account, which was never authorized. I called ATT and they told me that they used my OLD debit card, but then how was I charged to my NEW checking account? So I had two debit cards to one account? makes no freekin sense! Stupid ### USBANK...ATT can't even take the charge back and now after they canceled my OLD debit card, they are going to wait to see if it posts or not, since it has only been authorized to my account so far...ok...soo...wtf..?
Zelliej- I agree!
Stealth Pilot- Yeah, it actually did post to my account yesterday...
I closed my checking account that the old debit card was associated with. I had no idea that they were going to keep that card open...you would think that the card would close with it..i called a bunch of different bankers and i asked one the question if i closed my checking account would the debit card be inactive and she told me yes unless i linked it to my new account which i never did...
And yeah, its not att's fault...
thanks for responding :)

auto lease
I read the complaints regarding the return of autos through a lease made through US Bank and inspected by DataScan, so I also was filled with trepidation as the inspection was made and the report pending. Sure enough the inspection was detailed. EVERY little stone chip was photographed, measured and cataloged. The car was driven by the inspector. I had the car detailed (a Lexus ES350, 2007) and it looked like new. I recieved the report online and this is what is said (I cut and pasted from the site-there was a photo after each note):

So, not bad, really. Having said that they did mention that the review is not done and they still wanted to see the engine at the dealer, but the rims did have some curb scratching on all 4 rims, and I may have it removed if I can get it done for less than the $250. I wanted to post this as the complaints really had me worried and I want all to know that my experiences, thus far. If it changes at the dealership I will re-post.
customer screwed
I have had a business Cash Flow Manager for years with US Bank. I depend on it for the running of my business month to month. I have never been late, I have never had a problem, and it is set up for automatic payments for periods of no activity. US Bank closed the account out of the blue, telling me that it was scheduled to close after a number of years. That is a lie. It was a credit line, not an equity line. They refused to open the account back up. They want me to open a new one, re-qualify with all the paperwork, tax returns, and all that nonesense, like I never did business with them before. I am insulted, inconvenienced, and I am looking for a new bank to move over all my accounts.
With a Cash Flow Account, you put a large percentage of your business income through the account and pay bills out of the account. You might have a 25, 000 credit balance if you invested in your business, or if cash flow was slow one month, and you might have a 0.00 balance as your cash flow catches up and clears it out. Your balance flows up and down. It makes your business income "flow" smoother. I had just deposited quite a bit of business income into that account, thinking I could tap it when needed. You can see how a move like this from US Bank can really jam up your business. This isn't the first time they've screwed up with me, but it is certainly the last.
I highly recommend taking your money another bank. US Bank doesn't give you pertinent information up front, they don't follow through with what they say they will do, they will fee you to death over their own mistakes, and then after 15 years they'll treat you like you just walked in the door. They can kiss my ###.

misrepresentation
I have had this account for two years. They have been cashing my unemployment check for seven months. The Pasadena branch even reissued me another ATM card a couple of months ago when I lost mine. Several branches have had no problem cashing my unemployment check. When I came to California, I had a broken link from my birth name to marriage certificate because of something my parents did. U.S. Bank goes by your Drivers License, but when I opened the account I had showed them birth certificate, social security card, old drivers license that matched my social security card. I was told it would be noted in the computer for the other branches to verify. On Feb 22nd I deposited my unemployment check at the ATM, it is issued under my SS#, on Feb 23 I received a call from the teller in Pasadena where I deposited the check. I was on another call and told her to check the computer because it was noted. If she could not find it, contact her supervisor or my branch where I opened my account to verify it. Then I looked at my account and it was backed out causing items to overdraft. I was told to contact my Branch Manager, Richard, whom always says he will take care of it and never returns your call. Several days went by and I kept using my account since I felt Richard was handling it and waiting on someone to return his call from higher up. He failed to call me and let me know it would not be okay to continue to use the account letting items go into overdraft. All of a sudden, the Patriot Act is brought into play after banking with them for two years, leading me to believe it is noted in their system for acceptance, and cashing my hard copies of unemployment checks for seven months. This has caused me hardship and seeking answers. Today I spoke with Richard and asked about the overdraft charges, he said he would get back to me in a few minutes. After over an hour, he did not and I called him and explained how their bank has misled me and I feel they are hustling for the house instead of giving good customer service.

will not release funds
I deposited 3 credit union issued drafts totalling almost $12k on January 28, 2011. As of this posting on February 15, 2011, US Bank still refuses to release my money, even though I have obtained front and back copies of these checks showing that they were paid, with all batch numbers, etc. to US Bank's Securities Department. US Bank received the funds on February 1, 2011.
At one point last week while trying to obtain my hijacked money, I became upset at a branch. I raised my voice, but did NOT curse. I was escorted from the location. Today, I was told that my behavior last week was the equivalent to a terrorist threat, my account was being closed and I was to never return to US Bank location. Hmmm. So how do I get my money? The manager even threatened to call the FBI. ARE YOU KIDDING?
I would sincerely appreciate any suggestions or advice.
You're going to need to get the credit unions involved who issued the checks. (I hope for your sake that the CUs are reputable and public in their advertising) Sit down with a branch manager at US Bank and CALMLY explain the troubles and misunderstandings that you've encountered. (Don't go to the same branch where you caused a disruption; they've already labelled you a troublemaker. And treat the manager as your friend.) The branch manager is going to need to search and find the contact information of the credit unions, then contact them independently (do not provide a contact phone number, but let them look it up). At that point, he or she will have to verify with the credit unions that the funds existed and were transferred to US Bank agents. You will need the account numbers and details for all CU accounts.
impolite customer reps/harassing calls
US Bank has never been my first choice for a bank and never will be. However, several years ago I had to get an alternative loan from them to continue my second degree studies. I was going to grad school, but now things have changed. Yes I have to start paying loans and we have been. but because of recent financial difficulties, I have been late in paying...

Us Bank... Reliacard Reliacard Double charged me for ATM withdrawl. Refused to look into it as ATM error! Ripped me off $40 Astoria, Oregon
I withdrew $40 from the US Bank using my child support Reliacard, issued by US Bank. The next day it charged me another $40 from the same ATM which I never went back to, I never even left the house that day!
I called Reliacard and they said I would have to file a fraud report as if someone stole it, but I never lost my card, I still have it. They advised me to call US bank if I didn't want to do that, so I did and they tell me they can not look up my account or tell me anything about it. I ended up filing a fraud report with Reliacard since that's the only thing I could do.
They sent me the papers, I returned them and 2 weeks later I get a message on my phone saying " I really hope somebody advised you that you need to go file a police report for this, and we need the report number...by Friday or else we will end this investigation." Well I was never told that I needed to do that by any of the 4 different people I talked to about this.
Since I didn't get the message till Wednesday, I said screw it. I didn't have time. This was completely ridiculous, there was no fraud, my card wasn't stolen. It was an ATM error or something that Im sure US Bank could have solved very easily if they would have just done something about it. $40 may not seem like much to a lot of people, but for an unemployed single mother, that's a lot to just have taken for no reason!
Worse customer service I have ever came in contact with. Customer service does not provide all information correctly or give you all information to make both the customer and csr job easy. I will never in life use this service or card again. It's best just getting your own bank account. As a Customer service representative myself I know how a REAL ORGANIZE call center is ran and this is by far the worst customer service I ever had to deal with.
US Bank Relia care is the worst! I never get any child support payments, so they started charging me a monthly inactivity fee. Called and talked to them and they could care less. Bad and unhelpful customer service.

car lease fraud
Lease payments for 5 years all paid on time. At end of lease prior to return of the car the requiered inspection was performed. The car was in almost new condition but required some minor blemishes repaired pe their inspector. I had these repaired by an auto body shop which was present at the inspection. I had the blemishes repaired and dropped the car at the dealer where the drop was authorized. They said they would pick up the vehicle in 1-2 weeks. There was no return inspection to see that the repairs had been performed. I continued to get a bill for the repairs already performed. I faxed the invoice from the repair shop at their request, but they persisted in sending the bill and then reported the non payment to the credit agencies and ignored the invoice which was sent to them. I have heard of other problems with this bank in this regard and hope people are aware not to deal with them.
home loan
Letter addressed to US Bank Mortgage Department-
One week ago today, on the day before I was suppose to close on the sale of my house, I was notified by my realtor that US Bank denied a loan for the buyers of my home. I just wanted to update you on the chain of events that this last minute decision has caused.
Personally, I had to forfeit a purchase of a home that I was scheduled to close on the same day last week. I had packed and moved all of my belongings into a storage truck in which in turn I have had to move and store once again into a third location and pay a weekly fee to do so. I also am currently paying rent at temporary site until my buyer can find another option for a loan. My house sits empty. I possibly will lose out on a profit of my sale as well as the possibility to purchase another income generating property. The estimated loss of income is un yet determined.
To prepare for this move, I made sacrifices of holiday vacations and gift exchanges with my family and friends. I had spent money on appraisals, inspections, ernest money, prepaid insurance premiums, moving supplies, and cleaning materials. I had sacrificed time off from work and weekends, I have disconnected utilities and paid the associated fees to do so, I have transferred addresses, and I have lost out on opportunities to generate excess income on my property due to turned down opportunities on a business level.
My buyers of my home have moved out of their condo because they were able to find someone to rent their space for them to make this purchase. Their renter has since moved in, my buyers are now living in a motel on University Ave while all of their belongings are sitting in a storage unit generating cost. I can assume at this point that they have also accrued costs on moving expenses, time off, rent, and disconnected utilities.
The seller of the duplex that I was planning on purchasing, had allowed one of his tenants leases to expire as of Feb 1 so that I was able to move into that unit. Now this unit sits empty and the current owner of the duplex is loosing out on income and may need to find another tenant to make ends meet. The fact that he lives out of state complicates matter since he has to pay travel expenses and sacrifice over 10 hours of time for each round trip he makes back to the city to make this happen.
I can understand that that because of the state of the economy, that banks are being more cautious about who they lend money to. I am under the impression that the reason we all go thru bank required inspections and appraisals was to protect the bank from possible risky loans. What I don't understand is that how does a bank back out of a loan on the day before a scheduled closing even after all the inspections and appraisals all were verified by the bank itself in the first place? I also don't understand is that the banks got themselves into this risky loan situation in the first place. One thing that the banks were fortunate enough to experience is that the national Government bailed out your organizations and forgave your debt. As the voice of all the parties listed above, plus countless others affected by your pour decision making, who is going to help us out of all of our accrued debt? Who exactly are you trying to protect with your stringent policies?
I had tried to contact someone at US Bank directly to voice my frustration, but was passed around internally with in the 1800 telephone service until I was eventually hung up on. I plan on posting this email to my misc social network accounts to make other people aware of your new home lending policies.

I am also currently suffering from the stupidity of US Bank loan processors and underwriters. I was able to voice my frustration to the head of the loan department in California but found out he is more stupid than his staff and since I am not the only one complaining of their processes and strange/illegal requirement [such as: what was your motives to buy a new residence after only one year from buying your last residence? ... how come you take distribution from your IRA every year and not every month? ... What did you do with the distribution you took from your IRA? They ran my credit and then they turned around and asked me who ran your credit and why? ...etc.] ... such complaint from many customers are documented and out there for everyone to see. Finally, I have come to the conclusion that they have a leadership problem because the leadership are beating the drums and their crew is dancing to it. Also, I am waiting for a daring lawyer to take on US Bank and file a class action suit on behalf of everyone that is suffering from US Bank home mortgage procedures.
