US Bank collection agency harassing me, posing as federal agents

This agency calls me repeatedly, 10-15 times in a row, before 7:30 AM most morning. On 12-15-2008 I received a call at my office. The individual, a male with a foreign accent, left a message on my voicemail (which I saved) reciting my full name, full address, and full SSN. Then he went on to identify himself as "Officer Shawn Baker" of the "United States Crime Suspect Department." He said I needed to contact him regarding a "very serious and time sensitive matter" and that I should "call back as soon as possible before something happens to you." "if you fail to return this call, I don't know what will happen to you, and you may be facing some shocking surprises and consequences at your job or home. Give me a call back or else only God can help you. Goodbye." He left this number: [protected] ext 1041

Then on 12-16-2008 they called me again and I mistakenly answered the phone. Same person with heavy Indian accent, identifying himself as the "Chief Investigator" and telling me that if I do not pay them $330 today, then they will "freeze my social security number" and I will no longer be able to work within the US. Also telling me that the Attorney General is preparing to file federal fraud charges on me if I do not pay immediately.

I requested information regarding the debt and they would not tell me what it was for. They said it was for a loan that was deposited into a Bank of America account. I've never had an account - EVER - with Bank of America. I told them I would have to see mailed copies of all documents supporting this debt, they said this was not possible and refused to send them. I asked them for this multiple times and was told that I "already had the documents when I took the loan" and that it was not possible to get any validation. I said thank you, and hung up on the loser.

Here are the phone #s they gave: [protected] ext 1041, [protected].

I have filed reports wtih the Attorney General's office (Texas) and the FTC - but what else can I do to stop these idiots from calling me?

They are still calling and leaving the same scripted messages about my being arrested and etc. They called again today, [protected], 7 times, to my place of employment. I hung up on "Officer Shawn Baker." He called back immediately and asked to speak to Human Resources. Fortunately our receptionist caught on and put the call to me. Thinking I was HR person, he went on to discuss the debt in detail, and stated that I had used the company's name and information in order to borrow money illegally, and that I would now be arrested on 4 federal charges. He also stated that they would send agents to my employer and create a "big public scandal" with the company's name if I did not pay. I have contacted the Attorney General, local Sheriff & Police Departments, FBI, FTC, Interpol... I don't know what else to do. I refuse to pay these idiots for some BS scam debt I do not owe - but now they are threatening my JOB. I cannot have these freaks calling my supervisors and telling them these lies!

US Bank awful bank

Us bank is awful! I have never had a bank rip me off like this! They put undetermined hold on checks (Even pay checks and government checks!) and seem to wait until checks written against the deposit start coming in and then automatically apply insufficient funds charges against them! (Over and over again!) if you use your debit card it should tell you when your balance is beyond the amount of money in the account, but the charge is put through and then the fun begins!

They will hit you over and over and over again with huge fees, then charge for a negative balance fee (Over and over!)! One month I had over $300.00 nsf fees and neg. Balance fees. The next month I had over $200.00 in fees! The bank also charges me overdraft fees even when they return the check! Doesn't overdraft mean they paid for the check? Well they didn't! They bounced the check, charged me nsf fees, over draft fees (Yet didn't pay the check!), then with a huge negative balance, the bank kept trying to put the previously bounced checks through, over and over, generating more and more fees!

Then they charged me fees for having a negative balance! I told them I wanted to close my account and they said I couldn't close it while I 'owed them' money! It is a nightmare situation! I hate us bank! I urge everyone to sue us bank in small claims court, and call your government representative! Banks get a bailout, yet we the middle class eat it, because we don't matter! Stop this madness!

Unfortunately after several incidents and several hundred dollars of overdraft fees, I have figured out US Bank's strategy of misleading their customers in order to collect an ungodly amount of fees. I recently deposited a $400 check into our account due to the fact that the same problem I'm about to report occurred and we were charged over $300 in overdraft fees. So, after depositing the $400, I went online and noticed that at the top of the online statement, there was a note indicating that $300 was being held pending clearance of the deposited check.

HOWEVER, approximately 24-48 hours later, that note disappeared and my Available Balance was showing about $196. Additionally my husband called to check the Available Balance and was also given the $196 figure. Naturally, one would assume that Available Balance would mean those funds are available for use, and by their own definition listed on the website, 'This balance lists the funds in your account that are available for withdrawal. This is the Account Balance minus deposited funds being held or check card authorizations outstanding.' Note it says MINUS deposited funds being held. This actually is not the case - when I clicked on the blue hyper-link provided on the online statement, I was shown that the $300 is still considered unavailable funds and our Available Balance is actually negative $103.

If we didn't have access to the Internet in order to find that out, and went solely on the information given when my husband called in to check our balance, we would have been charged overdraft fees on any purchases we made. That is how we got all the overdraft fees to begin with - another deposit was made previously and because the Available Balance showed the entire deposit was available, we were naive enough to believe it and spent money that apparently wasn't really available...even though they told us it was.

This practice is unconscionable, underhanded and downright dishonest. Why list funds as available when they aren't? Overdraft fees...period. In the meantime, because those funds aren't available yet and we're still in a negative balance, I actually had to borrow some of my daughter's birthday money in order to get some gas and groceries! We live paycheck-to-paycheck and the bank is slowly milking us to the point of having to borrow money from my father and my 11-year old daughter just to get by.

I would be interested to hear comments or other incidents of this occurring.

I don't know about the rest of America, but US BANK to me is a CROOKED BANK. Not only did they boast of being 0ne of Two banks that made a profit in 2008, they took billions of dollars in taxpayers money to pad their pockets.

Here is the CROOKED PART they adjust their computerized bank records to STIFF their CUSTOMERS.

Just last night my wife was out and checked her balance at an ATM, it said she had enough money for a moderate withdrawal. When she got home later she went on line to validate her balance and check how much she need to deposit to bring her account back to where it was.

I went to a US BANK branch at 9:00 AM and made a cash deposit for her.

When I got home she checked her balance on line again as she always does and just like clock work, US BANK changed her balance records putting the last nights withdrawal five down, before the other withdrawals previously taken out, and then proceeded to put her in negative status for the prior withdrawals.

Four charges of $37.50 for each transaction = $150.00 in US BANK charges.

To me this is manipulation of bank records and theft by deception of CUSTOMER CASH.

I want to see more reports posted on the site and I will look from time to time to see the response.

My God are there any HONEST business people in AMERICAN BUSINESS ?

These CROOKS - US BANK show be PROSECUTED !

My father died in September of 2008. After making a total of NINE trips to US Bank Magnolia Branch in Seattle, and spending a total of more than eight hours over a period of six months talking to US Bank employees about this in person and on the phone, I have been unsuccessful in getting US Bank to roll my late father's US Bank IRA account into the US Bank estate account I set up to manage the funds of my late father's estate.

I have provided proof of my identity (drivers license); my social security number; the tax ID number of my late father's estate; court documents appointing me as the Personal Representative of my late father's estate, and as the sole Trustee of the family trust my parents established in the early 1990s (in the name of which the IRA is registered), provided a copy of the signed, notarized family trust document (twice! because the bank staff LOST the first copy I gave them), and WAITED months for US Bank to 'review' the trust document.

At no time has any US Bank employee been able to explain to me the reason for the long delay in taking care of this simple request to consolidate my late father's accounts. Probate is almost done, and I urgently need to get this matter resolved, but the employees of US Bank who I have dealt with at two different branches (the other branch is in downtown Seattle) continue to steadfastly REFUSE to carry out my request to close the IRA account and transfer the funds into the estate account. I must close this IRA account not only in order to carry out my fiduciary responsibilities as Personal Representative of the estate and Trustee of the family trust, but also to comply with IRS requirements to withdraw funds from the IRA.

If you're thinking about setting up an account with a commercial bank, PLEASE DO NOT OPEN AN ACCOUNT WITH US BANK! If you do, you run the risk of experiencing the worst customer service that you will ever have to face in your life! I have been treated far more respect with banks in third world countries where I have conducted transactions than I have by the employees of US Bank in Seattle.

At this point, I feel that I have no recourse left other than to file a complaint with the Washington State Attorney General or lawyer up.

this should be illegal... someone close them down!

I used USBANK.com bill pay service for the second time ever...I paid my electric bill on the Jan 15, 2013 and they said it will go thru and pay entergy by the 18th..on the 20th entergy says they are going to cut off so I have to pay again.. thinkin i did bill pay wrong ..since they dont send you confirmation emails..., Usbank finally paid it on the 22nd which caused me an overdraft. Talked to one lady she said get entergy to put money back in the account and she would waive my fee.. after an hour entergy agreed.. called usbank..waited on hold 15 minutes and the second lady refused... there is never a manager to talk to .. I then call one more time tell the guy the story and the whole time I talk hes laughing... they still refuse to take off my overdraft fee that they caused and they are charging me!... It took them 9 days for the bill to go thru.. when i was promised 3 on their website.. If they had it written on the site.. which you can see on their site that it takes 3 days to go thru.. if they didnt do that, how can they charge me when i had to pay twice? They didnt do what they said they would do. Had I known it wouldnt go thru on the 18th like they said, I would have paid another way.

A few months ago a company that says USBANK gave them my info tried to sell me something over the phone... I refused it and still got fees on my account and never even asked or said they could use my account to take my money...never gave them my info even.. Why is USBANK giving away my info... it let people steal from me... thru my USBANK account.

A few months ago I paid all my bills over the phone via debit card except for one... I used the bill pay on USBANK.com.. then get a fraud alert the same day. Why am I using my account information for the first time with USBANK then getting fraud ?.. how secure is their system? Well, they cut off my debit card and I racked up a little over a hundred in bounced fees from all my utility companies. They didnt even notify me they closed down my debit card.. I find out days later when get rejected in public like I had no money..This company could care less about all the fees I racked up.

I feel like these people are purposely making mistakes to take our money. We can't fight it.. they just take it.

The main thing I can tell ppl with banking is...keep a register of your purchases. Do not rely on online banking, the ATM balance, the teller balance or the automated balance...even the customer service reps balance. None of those can tell what's outstanding...just what posts to the account. Empower yourself and learn how banking works. Bankers are more than happy to help you with that...if someone isn't...get a manager. And remember...always be nice to who is helping you.

Missed a payment because we didn't get a bill or a statement. Within a week we were sent to collections and was told they could do that because they can. We're pulling our loan with them. Lousy customer service, they won't help and the only help they offered was a phone number with no one on the other end. Your choice is to leave a message and they will call you back. Seems the people in the office were clueless on how to help. I heard they were immoral and I didn't want to bank with them, but my wife insisted and opened an account.

Tomorrow I am going to USB to try an get my money back for the fees that were their fult in my oppinion. I opened up a checking account and a savings account when I opened it I asked if they had the same option as my old bank where if u go over a little on ur checking that it will pull from your savings so u won't get the crazy overdraft charges. The guy told me they did have it and I guess it is called overdraft protection. I told him I deffinatly want that because some times I go a little over and it would suck to get a $35 fee for being over a few bucks. I knew I only had 250 in my checking and my car payment was$235 which left me with $15 so I got $15 in gas but it made me debit it for some reason... I also went inside the gasstation and got a drink... I knew I was gonna be a couple bucks over but I knew it would pull it from my savings... 3 days later I transferd $40 from mysavings to checking because I knew my tanning package was going to be takin out it was only $30 so I knew it would cover that plus the drink I bought... WELL I checked my account online and it was a mess! Apparently the guy DID NOT set my account up with overdraft protection so my car payment came out and the gas but sence It made me use debit at the pump it charged me a separet charge for 25 cents+ the $1.50 drink both had $35 overdraft charges and when I put the 40 in to cover the tanning it was so negative that it didn't matter so I got another 35 fee for the tanning and other stuff I bought it was also charging me $8 everyday on each $35 charge and it brought the grand total to $455... I called the 1800 number and the guy on the phonevtold me he couldn't do as much for me as the branch I had opend the account at and I should go there and they will fix everything and refund my money... Then he asked if I wanted him to transfer som money over to my checking so I don't get hit with the $8 fees everyday... I said only if they can give me my money back they messed up otherwise I'll just with draw all my money from my savings and take it elsewhere and bank... He told me that would be able to do that for me at my branch so I transferd 500 bucks... I called the branch I opened my account at and the lady on the phone said she could probly get me back $75 of it and she said she could fix my account to have the overdraft protection on it... WHICH I ASKED FOR WHEN I OPENED IT! I told her that was not acceptible... She said her boss wasn't in and he was the only one that could authorise to put it all back and she would call me back... That was 2 days ago.

On top of all that I went over on my account transfers because of all this bull [censor] so I got hit
with a fee of $75... So I hope they give me my money back... After reading everyone elses posts Im not feeling very good about it .

I recently opened a US Bank account and encountered my first "pledge." I deposited a payroll check (issued by another US Bank account) via ATM. 24 hours later my funds had gone from 10% available to frozen. Any purchases I made with debit card showed up as insufficient funds. After 3 phone calls and a trip to the branch, I am now being told that because my account is new, the deposit was larger than my average deposit my account was flagged by the fraud department and froze for 7 days pending verification of funds. Because I chose to bank via the ATM (which is another division) US Bank is unable to verify my funds or even the checks origin until the check has been scanned so I have no access to my funds for at least another 24 hours.

Should I choose to close my account once this is resolved I will incur penalties.

My credit union uses ATM's which scan the checks on deposit and prints a copy on your receipt, why a larger national bank like US Bank does not use this same technology is beyond me. My only assumption is that they would lose money on penalties customers incur during situations such as mine.

I have used this bank for a while now and they are worse than my previous bank, WellsFargo, with these damn BS overdraft fee's. And I don't know why they even have a customer service department because every time I call they don't know themselves how to explain these stupid situations they create.

For instance today, I call US Bank, I deposited $1, 600.00 then I look on my online banking and it says -$435.00! I call there customer support ASAP and they said there was a "pledge" on my check. When I asked what that was the guy didn't even know what it was himself, then directed me to the branch that put that "pledge" on my check and now there going call me back. Now I'm sitting here super pissed off, with no $ and tons of over drafts. How do they get away with this stuff?!? And I'm sure I am going to have to pull teeth to get my over draft fees back, can't wait cause yelling at those idiots would feel good right about now.

I am taking my $ out of that bank as soon as this is resolved. This is ridiculous.

US Bank overdraft charges

My Family and I am a new account holder in US Bank, for past month each of my family and I have been charged overdraft for at least twice. The bank system is so confusing that in one day your account shows positive balance and in matter of a day it shows negative balance. I am sure you are thinking that we are not managing our account correctly, but this is not the case, US Bank is a professional trained thief, they will live of the overdraft charges. This Bank is stealing your money without any mercy. Shame on us that we put our trust and money in the hands of this crooks. The US bank charge my 14 years old son account $120.00 overdraft fees for the negative account of $1.95.US bank customer service, including branch Manager, District Manager were no help. They told us we can not close the accounts at least for six months; if we do, we will be subject to pay early closing fee up to $250.00. US bank is sucks...US bank is surviving of the overdraft fees and Shame on all of us that we let this bank to take our hard working money and could nothing about it

First I will say that I have had my account with US Bank for 1.5 years and never overdrew my account. I made my deposit on a Saturday. Us Bank lets you have $100.00 of your deposit for immediate use. I made 6 very small purchases totaling $60.00. These should have been paid. I made the mistake of paying my Comcast bill on Sunday (the bank didn't release the balance of my deposit until Tuesday) for $150.00... this WAS my mistake, however, when these hit the bank they paid Comcast first so that they could charge me $35.00 for each transaction. These charges totaled $245.00. My grandson and I live below poverty level... this lost is devastating for us. I called the bank and they would credit me back only $80.00. When I E-mailed the main office and they told me that it is their right to post largest to smallest and yet they claim that they are not doing it in the banks interest... MY B**T! If they were a moral business they would not do it that way. The proper way would be to post smallest to largest. I will be changing banks as soon as I get my next check. I urge everyone to avoid US Bank and transfer your accounts to another bank before this happens to you.

Also, that policy of holding the rest of the deposit until the next morning is bunk because that still doesn't give them time to find out if the check you deposited is good... that takes at least a week. There is absolutely NO reason for them to hold your money overnight.

On may 26 of this year my husand and I deposited 2 checks totaling 520.00 with a check was a us bank check, the teller on duty put it in the computer as a out of state check, when we realized the mistake we went back the same day, the bank manager sara, gave us something called a curisty credit of 400.00 until our check cleared, she was supposed to take it back off the next morning, so we went on as usual trusting our bank to do what their paid to do, thinking that she took this back off, 6 weeks later july 1st we get a overdraft notice for 225.00 that we didnt understand considering that we still had over 150.00 in our account, the bank manager that we trusted did not take the credit back until july 1st bouncing everything we had, not only did they take the 150.00, but they expected us to pay 385.00 in fees, that ### is a theif, that bank is a fraud and we are not paying this, if she had done her job and taken this credit off the next day as she should have this would not have happened, so BEWARE! DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH THIS BANK, THEY ARE RUDE, MISLEADING PEOPLE

US Bank online banking customers beware...I was checking my account online and was surprised to see two overdraft charges, one for 10.00 and another for 33.00, especially when I had a positive balance in my account. So I transferred money from another account to cover these charges and for a future automatical withdrawal for a bill pay. The next thing that I get is another overdraft charge of 33.00, because the first overdraft charges created an overdraft in my account. I call US Bank and ask them why they are doing this when I had a positive balance. She initially told me that I had funds that were on hold which created an overdraft. Then, I told her that the funds in my account had been there for over a week (direct deposit from multiple sources) Then she told me to click on my balance. It popped open a new window that showed that a future charge would overdraft my account. I asked her, how can US Bank charge me for a charge that has not gone through yet? I told her that US Bank was double dipping and that I didn't believe that what they were doing was legal. She reversed all of the charges. I have had my US Bank account for 15 years. I told my husband that I think that US Bank has done this to me several times, but I never questioned it, I just paid it. Now...I am looking very closely at every charge. My long term plan is to move all of my accounts to a credit union or to a smaller bank.

I am currently a US Bank checking account holder; for now anyways. My current bank account with them is in a positive state according to their website. I guess not! Their website currently shows that I have two pending overdraft fees for items that still have not posted to my account. What the bank does is hide this bit information from their new and existing customers as a way of making money. I knew that I may have gone negitive when a check cleared, which is why I set up a checking account advance - to prevent any overdraft fees. ~Here's the good part~ the way the bank makes it money is by having you click on the available balance to find out if you have the monies available. The "available balance" will also show your items that have not yet posted to your account. As of right now, one of those items still hasn't posted to my account. I have incurred $70 worth of OD Fees. Out of Five stars, I give them 0! As I pointed out to the CS rep when I spoke to them, I am using the tools that they have provided to me, check book register and the internet. Yet their lack of customer training is my punishment!

First, I would call you bank and see if there is anything that they can do to help you with crediting you some of the fees back. Especially if you have been a customer for over 40 years. If you let them know your situation, they most likely can help with some credit or other products like a line of credit or a loan to get your account in a positive status. Second, I would stop using that account until everything gets cleared up. Most bank, if you let them know what's going on are likely to help you. So, I hope this helps. I just helped my parents with some overdraft issues as well and they gave credit back and also provided a small personal loan to get them back on track!

i agree with you. I know they do this stuff. The problem you have probably already discovered is that this is actually legal, meaning ALL the banks are going to do it. Think lobbyists and lots of money to turn things in their favor, which the "little guy" can't fight. By the way, the rule is generally to give you back 80 bucks with a phone call. But the branch managers can give it all back if they want to.

We had a checking account through US Bank. They had deposited 80 dollars of somebody else's money into our account without us knowing. We called the number on the back of our card to check our balance one day and we had X amount of money in there, so we went shopping. We didn't spend all of it, but the next day I get online to check our balance again and it shows that we are over drawn.

They had realized their mistake and took the 80 dollars out which put us 26 dollars in the hole. They then proceeded to charge us over draft fees left and right! I called and called and they kept saying how it was our fault for not keeping a register! I then told them that they offer an automated register, the one I had called to check the balance... They refuse to stand behind there offered services and to work with us.

I told them we would pay for what we spent but not for all those overdraft fees. Still to this day, no one will help us.

US Bank is a conglomerate of thieves! 7 years ago, they printed out checks to some one else with my account number on the checks. The only way I found out was that the people bounced a hot check at my place of business, with my name on it! Come to find out, they had over-drafted my checking account by almost $3000. I finally got this issue straightened out through the court system, but US Bank charged me with a $500 over-draft protection fee! I will not pay this fee and I am still receiving harassing phone calls from collection agencies over this. It has put a permanent black spot on my otherwise good credit rating, and after trying to resolve this issue in numerous ways, it is still a problem after 7 years.

US Bank return lease vehicle condition scam

Excess wear and tear in the amount of 1075.00 that is ridiculous! The car is a mercedes slk350, sport car. There are tiny paint chips from driving the car to and from work on a main road. The car rides low to the ground and small chips occured as a course of normal wear...I took it to a body shop and he could not believe they considered this excess, questioning whether I may be confused! The dealer also has stated that US BANK has suspect inspection reports...they have not used them for 3 years due to customer complaints exactly like mine.

US Bank was unhelpful and rude, reading the return policy over and over...they refuse to reinspect. WHO OVERSEES THIS! They can say whatever they want and will charge whatevery they want regardless of two professional inspections that did not see a problem.

US Bank lease termination fees charged

At the near end of my lease termination DataScan, a company hired by US Bank to come and inspect my 04 Lexus GX470, made note of every tiny, little ding and scratch on my suv. None of which measured over a 1/2 inche. Per my lease agreement anything under a 1/2 inche is considered "normal wear and tear". A bill was sent to us for $809.00 for these "normal wear and tear" items. No paint work was ever done on my car, all the original glass in tact and no dings or dents. Vehicle is in sound, great mechanical condition and tires are in great condition also. What gives?
The end came and we decided to purchase the vehicle outright. We titled it in our business name which lists me as the president. This should have "forgave" my bill. NO! They still wanted me to pay the $809! SO, let me get this right, I buy the car outright and I still have to pay you damages and still have to pay the full buy out price too? They robbed me blind.
Well, we disputed the charges with them, stayed in contact every month and each time the person on the phone agreed with us and promised to talk to someone who could make the final decision and plead our case. 8 months went by and I received a bill from a credit collection company now. But the bill was less than orignally. Now it was $600. I said to my husband that I didn't want to screw up our credit so lets just pay it and be done with them. Which we did. We pulled our credit bureau before we paid and no collection was listed and no negitive marks were there under US Bank either. The bill was satisfied in 1 week from the day we received it. We figured we now can go on with our life. NOT!
We went to a bank for a credit line for our business and the representative asked us about the late marks on our lease. WHAT! Yup, they not only marked it as a collection but gave me 8, over 90 days late, late marks! Dropping my credit score a whopping 60 points because of it! And suprise suprise, everyone I talk to a US Bank says the marks should not be there and it is wrong, the person I talked too can not personally do anything to change it, someone else has to. However, everyone they transfer us too says the same thing. So there I am. Paid a un-fair fee and still had my credit damaged... :-(

US Bank lease return nightmare

Lease Return Nightmare with US Bank:

In addition to the ridiculous charge of 200.00 for some scratches on my wheels, US has billed me for 3491.82 as an excess mileage charge. I was allowed 15, 000 per year (or a total of 60, 000) on a 4 year lease with Mazda for a RX8. The car was returned with less than 50, 000 miles (49, 407) to be exact and have been billed for over 79, 000 so odd miles. I have the end of lease odometer statement from July, my recent car inspection as of June, several recent service records from Town North Mazda and they still will not remove the charge.

The sales Director at El Dorado Mazda, has faxed the odometer statement 3 times or more to US Bank along with the recent car inspection report and they keep denying their receipt of the statements. Just how does US Bank do business if the sales director at a Mazda dealer, can not even get this resolved? If it was just a mistake, the first faxed copy from the sales director should have resolved the problem, but it still is outstanding.

I am not happy and will pursue this with the Better Business Bureau, Channel 5 or Channel 8 News and if need be, my lawyer. I am not paying for charges that I did not incur. US Bank is not a company I ever would do business with again.

Just thought everyone needs to be aware of this issue dealing with US Bank.

Thanks,

A Concerned Consumer

US Bank awful customer service

I had been a US Bank customer for 3 years (until yesterday!) and after fighting with them for over a month, I am no longer with them.

In July, I went to the ATM only to be told my card had expired, but I had never received a new one in the mail. The teller in the bank ordered me a new one and when I got it, I activated it over the phone and set my pin.

On Aug 19, I was travelling out of the country, and from the airport I notified them of this, at this point, also confirming my pin.

When I arrived in London for my layover to Italy, I tried to use the ATM, at which point I was told that my pin was incorrect. I attempted to call the collect call number on the back of my card that is used for international calls, and was told by the operator that it did not work, leaving me to pay for the calls on my credit card. The girl on the phone transferred me to the manager, who would do nothing to help me, repeatedly stating that I should just use it as a Visa card. To which I kept asking him how many Italian taxi drivers he knew that would take a Visa! He refused to do anything other than to send a new pin to my home (where my boyfriend was) which would take 3-5 days. He said that I could use it to get a cash advance if I could find a bank. No bank in the London airport with would give me an advance without a pin. I attempted to call back, but the operator told me that even with a credit card the phone number would not work. At this point, I had to call my boyfriend in the states to see if he could help me. I also had to pay to use the internet to find bank and Western Union info.

When I arrived in Italy, I found an exchanger that would advance money for a 13.9% fee. Seeing as I had no other options, I went ahead and did it. Once I arrived at the hotel, the friend I was meeting had a cell phone that worked there, so I had to make calls home to my boyfriend to figure out how and where to get the money Western Unioned to. We spent half of our first day in Italy walking all over trying to find the Western Union and get the money (a huge ordeal in and of itself!). Finally I got the money and things were OK. 4 days later I got an email from my boyfriend with my new pin, so I tested it and it worked!

When I returned home I called the 800 number and spoke to a manager to get reimbursed. The total I spent was $596. I have been dealing with them since the first week of Sept and they originally agreed to pay only $220 (the calls made from the UK and a $2 US Bank fee), and after more arguing, agreed to pay the 13.9% exchanger fee (another $51). So they paid me back less than half of what it cost me! I insisted on speaking with the manager's supervisor, and yesterday morning she told me that on no uncertain circumstances would they pay for the calls I had to make to my boyfriend, the internet use or the Western Union fees. At this point I infformed her that I would be closing my account. Two hours later I withdrew all my money and when the guy asked why, I told him, and he did apologize, but did nothing to try to change my mind.

When I returned home an hour later, I found a message on my home phone from shortly after Id spoken with the supervisior on the phone from the local branch saying they wanted me to meet with the branch manager to help me. I left him a message saying that I had already taken out my money. As I was sitting at Commerce Bank opening my new account, he returned my call still wanting to meet with me and try to change my mind. Apparently, the 800 number should have notified the branch immediately, but only did so yesterday. I informed him of where I was, but he insisted that they wanted to try to get me back. I told him I would meet with them the next day and he could call me the next day, but there was little they could do.

This morning I received a call from him saying that they were doing research and wouldnt be able to meet until next week. I have told him that if I dont speak with them today Im not meeting with them at all.

This has taken far too long, and the fact that the branch wasnt notified isnt my problem! Im done with this bank. Ive never had such bad service, and the fact that the branch wasnt involved earlier only shows the breakdown in their service system. Im emailing all my friends to let them know about this and already have a friend who is changing banks based on my experience. If you're banking with them it would probably serve you best to get out-they dont care about their customer!

You really sound like a self-absorbed [censor]. I can't even fathom why you think your bank should have to pay for international calls to your boyfriend for any reason, least of all because you forgot your PIN...

This bank has the worst service possible... FOUR YEARS AGO my husband and I had an account with them and the account became overdrawn by 2 dollars (hello 2 dollars). They gave no written nottice or a notice by phone that the account was overdrawn. A few months later (after our move) we went in to make a deposit and were informed that our account had been closed and they had charged 7 dollars a day for the overdraft fee of 2 dollars making the account total $347.00 (with no notice)

Then they sent it to collections and with no notice from the collections and no information (except a non-working phone#) the collections agency sent it to a lawer, by the way they wouldn't let us pay the balance except with a money order). So through the lawers office we paid around $500 which is fine (WHATEVER), But now the lawers office has said that the lawer who is no longer with the firm has left and taken our money with him. So luckly we paid with a credit card and have a statement. So we called US Bank to see if the bill had been paid to them and (just like in the past) before we even began to ask the question they very quickly told us that it was out of their hands and WOULDN'T help us even though all we were asking for was a phone number to who would know. NEEDLESS TO SAY THIS ALL COULD HAVE BEEN AVOIDED IF THEY JUST NOTIFIED US THAT THE ACCOUNT WAS OVERDRAWN BY 2 DOLLARS. I HOPE THIS DOSN'T HAPPEN TO ANYONE ELSE BECAUSE THEY SEEM TO BE OUT JUST TO MAKE MONEY INSTEAD OF SAVE OUR MONEY FOR US. I HAVE BEEN BANKING WITH A WONDERFUL CREDIT UNION FOR 28 YEARS AND HAVE NEVER HAD ANY PROBLEMS AND IF MY ACCOUNT GOES OVERDRAWN (WHICH HAPPENS SOMETIMES) THEY SEND A LETTER THE NEXT DAY...

US Bank mistake

I purchased a vehicle in 4/06 and obtained a lease from US Bank. I decided in 3/08 to purchase the vehicle. My bank secured a loan with me and called US Bank for a payoff. Someone at US Bank sent a faxed quote to my bank, my bank sent a check to purchase the vehicle. Now US Bank says they made a mistake and sent the wrong quote. They want more money. My bank tried to talk with US Bank but they don't want to discuss this with them. They have now put this to collections, even though I am making my payments on time to my bank, I am receiving numerous calls from a collection agency who tells me they are repossessing the vehicle this week. US Bank will not take responsibility for their own mistake they are punishing me for their error. I have excellent credit and they are ruining it for me. My suggestion: Tell everyone you know not to deal with this bank and if you do deal with this bank, take your money elsewhere. This corporation doesn't know what "customer service" is all about, I am proof of that.

I also had a vehicle lease from US Bank (08/2004) because they had a reasonable rate at the time. The vehicle was a 60 month lease and was a great vehicle, but 4 yrs later, I decided to downize. I did not want to purchase the vehicle at lease end and simply wanted to turn it in. US Bank has been the worst bank that I have ever had experience with. I never had a late payment in 60 months and never called them except to turn the vehicle in.

They sent an independent inspector out a month prior to the end of the term and he inspected the vehicle. The inspector, obviously paid by US Bank, noted ALL minor scratches and imperfections in the bumpers and fenders. I understand paying for damages that are major and but the charges were ridiculous for a four year old van!

I was sent a letter which sated that I owed US Bank about $315 in "excess wear and tear" and that they would inspect the vehicle again when they take the car back. They reserve the right to add additional charges at a later time. The letter left the reader with the feeling of: "Fine! You won't buy the car, and refinance with us? You will pay us more money one way or another!"

BEWARE! It didn't end there. A small part of the lease agreement stated that "If you do not purchase the vehicle" you are subject to a TerminationFee: $395.00 I was sent another bill a month after I turned in the vehicle for $710.00. I called to speak to a representative at US Bank. The woman who answered my call was so rude and very quick to say, "It's in section 5 of the lease agreement that you signed! I can send you a copy of it because you agreed to it!" Woah! Hold on! Back up the bus lady... I understand that I had signed the agreement, but I do not understand why she felt necessary to react so defensively. She then told me that ALL US Bank lease agreements have the TERMINATION FEE clause and always have.

US Bank may have a good rate, but they will NEVER get my business ever again! In fact, I will make it my mission to tell everyone in my circle of influence to not only avoid US Bank, but warn others about their "hidden fees" and poor service. I would rather finance at a higher rate than get hit with US Bank's fees at lease end.

I have lease 3 vehicles and never had these issues. READ THE FINE PRINT! Live and learn.

US Bank can't even qualify for overdraft protection

I have had a checking account with US Banks for over nine years and had never over drawn my account. As a matter of fact, I rarely went below $500 average daily balance.

Recently I forgot to make a deposit that I thought I had made and experienced a number of overdraft charges. The bank suggested that I apply for a line of credit to act as an overdraft protection, or apply strictly for the overdraft protection. I decided to do this even though I had assured myself I would not make this mistake again. They proceeded to tell me that I could not qualify for overdraft protection due to some derogatory items on my credit report.

I just qualified and purchased a $200, 000 home with that "derogatory" information and my loan is a traditional, fixed rate loan of 5.875%! How could I purchase a home and not be able to get overdraft protection from my bank of 9 years! Needless to say, I am closing this account as soon as I can get my direct deposit payroll and automatic withdrawals for bills transferred to my new bank - Nevada Federal Credit Union.

US Bank horrible customer service

I want to complain about the horrible customer service that the Manager Eric Beane is giving in the Us bank located in 540 Van Ness Avenue, an Francisco California 94102.

Today I went to make a transaction in this bank and I had to wait for a long time in the line even though the Manager (Eric Beane) was just sitting there, he didn't even wanted to acknowledge the customer, then instead of helping he just started to make phone calls.

This guy acts very bad and rude.

Somebody needs to teach him how to deal with customers.

What a bad person to work for this company.

Horrible customer service.

Branch Manager Aaron G at central location in Phoenix closed my accounts because i often complaint to him about slow service at his branch. Unbelievable,
I was able to reopen the accounts at another branch later on same day. That tells me he had poor management /customers skills and only closed my accounts as a form of harassment.

I received this $50 gift card for Christmas. Every time I go to register it I get a loud warning that I have a virus. I took my computer to Office Depot and the only way we got it to stop was by unplugging the computer and taking out the battery for a few minutes. They do not have a phone number and say you can only register it online. I emailed them and said I would be filing a complaint against and they did not respond.

On Wed Aug 4th at 10:25 am I went into the branch to withdraw from their ATM located inside an amount of money. After the transaction, I tried to see my balance and after 3 different tries I wasn't able to. I went inside the branch and I asked the clerk to help me with my account because the ATM outside wasn't working properly. First off, the blond girl 'helping' me didn't care a bit that the ATM wasn't working. Secondly, she took my ATM card and went in the back for a long time, without any other explanation. At this point I asked the other brunette girl (which seemed to be the manager) why did she take my card and why is it taking this long. She told me that she needs to verify the card because I didn't show her my ID. I went back to my car and got my ID and showed it to her asking for my balance. I was in much hurry and all I'm getting is 2 slow moving girls like turtles that have no consideration for the customer. The brunette, started arguing with me without a point about why the ID is important and all that, and while I understand it, I don't understand why after I showed her my ID she still keeps on going with a very vindictive tone and a mean spirit attitude. Is that the type of customer service US bank calls 'stellar'?! Thank you very much, but I better not have to deal with that again!
After I left the branch, i called them again, asking for the manager's name and they refused to give it to me or to let me take with the so called manager.
I think that's the worst customer service I've ever had to deal with and I need someone to take responsibility for these employees that have no idea what they're doing and on top of that they're cocky, rude, and unprofessional!

By far the worst customer service I have ever received. Not one, but several times have I been harassed and hung up on by representatives. Even after speaking with a supervisor to address the complaint I was brushed off. US Bank does not care about their customers, they care about robbing you with hidden fees that no one can explain and treating you like dirt.

Save your time and money and bank elsewhere. After four years of being terribly inconvenienced I have changed and couldn’t be happier.

Warning! This is the worse bank in the world. I never had been a large can of unfamiliar Banks. My fiance opened up an account with his bank for direct deposit. We deposited a check from a client, but it bounced. A direct deposit was going into the account 2 days later. The bank held his work check, and still have not returned the additional funds, & although were now with a well known bank now this us a f&$$&# up bank to do business with. They are crooks, their customer service representatives ate rude, unprofessional, they lack knowledge of compassion, they hang up on you, the supervisors are even worse, if you look on their web page you can't escalate your issues because their corporate information is not listed hat should be a red flag. I'm starting a class action law suit against this bank.

There was a power outage at US Bank's headquarters in St. Paul. All systems (including online banking, ATM's and even the teller's computers) were not responsive. They should have let you know, but then again ~ maybe they didn't know depending on what state you are in. I happen to work 20 miles from St. Paul, so the news spread fast here.
The system is up and running now. However, all the transactions I made during that power outage are not showing up on my online banking. Maybe I'll get it all for free! Wishful thinking, eh?

US Bank pending transactions

Apparently I can not have an Automatic Deposit and an automatic withdrawal on the same day.

The say the withdrawal was pending so they charged an OD fee of 37.50.

They can see the pending transaction and the pending deposit, but they still get the OD fee which is pure gravy for any bank.

To stop the OD charge every month I have to get the date changed on my automatic withdrawal. This is incontinence for me, plus costing me every month until I can get it changed. This is modern day Highway robbery.

Some Customer Service!

with us bank. I throught that was kind of outrages because the branch was there and needed too wash a car. there policy is sad .they should post a sign saying this store is for
customer with account only and the public is not allowed. After that I went around to a car dealership a freind of mine owne and told him what happend. he was shock, and said that he had went around too the same branch and ask for change for a hundred
dollar bill they gave it too him no questions ask. but the only different was that he was white. I guest that if you are black you must have a account and that if you are white
you don'tneed I hope that is not your policy and if is you should post for people would

Do not bank with us bank. They don't care about you and only find ways to scam out of your money. You can accidentally go over one dollar and put money in to fix it and notify bank but end up charging you 35.00 anyway. Use credit union or a small bank. After i fix everything i am closing my account and having nothing to do with us bank. I don't need people telling me I don't know how to manage my account as if i was still in grade school.

My mother passed away in 2006 at the age of 50 from cancer and we hadn't closed her US Bank account nor used her card. However someone managed to steal her identity and charge ~$1, 000 on the card. Not only did US Bank refuse to investigate, their customer service was incredibly rude when I explained to them my mother had passed away "Right. That's not our problem". I was 21 at the time and cried my eyes out at this comment. So I ended up paying the false charges at a "discount". As a cosigner on the card, I still see this on my credit report. All I can think about is how awful US Bank is when my mother passed away. WORST COMPANY EVER.

SIGNIN FOR AN ACCOUNT WIT US BANK IS LIKE SIGNING FOR LIFE PENALTY.

Opening an account with US Bank is the must horrible mistake to do.

While I had deposited $8000 to my US Bank, I spent $2 at StarBax about all must a month later. They charged $2000 over draft fee….

Why?

I was not supposed to use my account for 30 days, because my account was a new account. That is what they told me…

US BANK sucks account holders money with reasons they create. If you have an account with US Bank, no meter how you do, what you do, US Bank will find a way, find a reason to suck your money.

On feb. 7, 2008, our 2003 ford focus wagon was stolen. First question out of the 911 operators mouth was; 'were we in default?' I said; 'no!' just to make sure there wasn't some bureaucratic mix-up, I called u. S. Bank customer service, twice! The second time while the sheriff deputy was here making out the stolen vehicle report.in fact, when I called the second time, the rep wanted to assure me that 'nothing in your file remotely suggests a repo!' my payments were current.

At this point, my wife and I are scared. We are worried that serious crime had now worked its way from the city to our little country village. We waited ten days for the insurance paperwork and the mandatory two weeks to declare it officially stolen. At this point the claim was settled with our auto insurance company, titles and keys sent to the insurance agent and checks addressed to u. S. Bank and to myself.

But hold it! Why the difference in the pay-off I received on feb. 13, 2003 and feb 29th? I called u. S. Bank to find out why. At this point, I was suddenly referred to their 'repo' department! Things started to unravel for u. S. Bank.

What? I screamed up and down that 'you lied to us and misled the insurance company!' they declared that because of my chapter seven bankruptcy in 2005, they could repossess my car at any time for any reason. This actually is not true, since an exemption was placed on the vehicle, ok'ed by the u. S. District judge and payments continued as usual.

We actually feel pretty good about this after thinking about it. Yes, we had to dip into our savings for a down payment on a new pontiac. However, if u. S. Bank is claiming the focus was discharged and we were paying on the security of the vehicle, then we owe no money.

Luckily, the auto insurance company stopped the check before they cashed it. But u. S. Bank was willfully and knowingly cooperating with our insurance company just as if this was a stolen vehicle! We still do consider it a stolen vehicle. If we find a 'repo' in our credit report, I am going to have it changed to 'discharged under bankruptcy' since I have a letter from u. S. Bank that mistakenly claims this.

I just hope they don't bring the car back and dump it in our yard! They stole it, in our family's opinion, so they are now the proud owners of a 2003 ford focus. We just love our new pontiac g-6! But watch it folks! If you've gone through chapter 7, they might take off with your car and then let the insurance company pay for it!

Bill,
Hanover, michigan.

US Bank lease end rip-offs

My lease residual was about $24,500. Carmax afforded me $27,000 for the car so I could make about $2500. US BAnk refused to let me sell the car to Carmax unless I paid them the whole $27,000. This after they inflated the cost of supposed scratches and dents to 5 times the amount a detail shop fixed them for. Never lease from US Bank. NOT only that, but when you call US Bank to complain, their people are extremely rude.

US Bank overdraft charges on positive balance!

I have an account with US bank, which I've had for over 5 years. This month, I had charges on my account that left $32.44 after everything. However the bank is telling me that the way the system works, I've been charged $221.00 in overdraft fees, leaving me with a negative balance and subject to more charges until I get money into the account. I get paid once a month, so I'm looking at several hundred dollars more of charges before I get paid again.

I've tried calling the bank, but they don't seem to care. Is there anything I can do?

Plz advise smb!

Regards,
Anatoli.

the same thing is happening to me I closed my account back in 2003 but the bank kept it open for two more months, now five years and 4 months later I start getting phone call from a debt collector, I have my last billing statement that shows that I'm in the positive, I've tried to contact US Bank at my local branch, and they dont have any information on me there I have contacted the states attorney general and filed a formal complaint, but now there is a nasty mark on my credit that showed up just two months ago, why in the hell wasn't my account closed when i ordered to be, and why in the hell has it taken them, the debt collector that was sold the account, over five years to contact me and only recently tag my credit, and why the hell didnt the bank send me any notification, then sell my information without so much as a phone call to me so that i could dispute these phony charges

US Bank automobile lease

I, too, have had an awful experience with the lease return on my 2004 Lexus with US Bank. I have always leased vehicles in the past and have never had a problem with charges upon termination. The charges were as followed: Worn left tire-$237, Qtr Panel Dent-$270, Missing Cargo Cover-$813.62 ( was in vehicle when turned in ), Worn right tire-$237-Stain on rear floor mat-$40-Left rear door scratch-$75-Rear Bumper scrtatch-$75-Head liner stain-$75-right rear door scratch-$75-left 1/4 panel scratch-$246. When I called in to question these charges , I was told by an extremely rude CSR named Kathy [protected] ) that I had no choice but to pay these charges. When I asked for a receipt on the repairs, she told me it was none of my business. I then proceeded to ask her if this is how she treats customers. I was told I was not a customer. This is the " ROYAL SCAM".

US Bank sequential fee errors!

US BANK
425 Walnut Street
Cincinnati, OH [protected]

My account at US Bank is a direct deposit account. The balance went low, and before I could put a cash deposit in it went to a negative amount under $3; so I deposited a cash amount of $100. The cash deposit was held as "pending". I realize they do this with checks but cash should be immediately added; when I emailed them with that question they did not have a valid answer. I also included the situation in the email, as the account was then charged four times, with varying amounts over $31 for overdrafts. The online statement I receive from Internet Banking with them only shows that there were charges pending when I made the cash deposit of $100. I emailed them a copy of that statement to point out, those charges were added from "pending" to an applied balance before the CASH deposit was considered. In other words I rushed down to the bank when I saw it was going to a negative balance, deposited $100, and the consequences proved my actions were for nothing. However, they would not consider crediting the amounts back to my account when I told them about the $100 cash. This was not the first time US Bank had a sequential error when it came to a fee with my account. It's just the previous time they refunded the fees back into my account. Their responses sent to me with amounts are in conflict with the my statement; I sent them it through email to clarify. The timing I made deposits and charges on my account with my statement do not show the same. I did some research and found former employees telling of these kind of practices, and other similar complaints. I can gladly submit to you my own statements, unaltered, received from online banking... and... the websites of those whom have major complaints about US Bank.

I currently have an account with US Bank and on 08/19/09 I made a deposit at 2:30am and then at the same time made a withdrawl of $60.00. Later on that day I call my personal banker and asked what my account balance was at 1:00pm and was told that it was positive $38.00 and $37.00 of it was available. Today I looked at my account and they charged me $35.00 three times for the transaction that was done at the atm. I called and complained and they advised me that there was a check that was returned on my account and that is why they charged me. I have my receipt from the atm and there was a positive balance, however they are trying to tell me that when I made that withdrawl and deposit at the atm that i was $418.00 overdrawn. THEY ARE CROOKS, HOW IS IT POSSIBLE THAT AT 1:00pm I was positive $38.00 on 08/19/09 and that at 2:38am on the 19th I was negative $418.00 that does not even make any sense!

It is simple; if you didn't spend money that you didn't have, you wouldn't get an overdraft charge.

I too ran into the same situation. Mine was the order of running expenses first and then deposits. My direct deposit hits ever Friday night and one night I waited until it hit midnight (from Thursday to Friday) so I would be on the same day my direct deposit hit... and sure enough I find out the next day I overdrew by $1.36 and was charged $31 overdraft fee. I emailed customer service and basically got the run around and was told they would not reimburse my overdraft fee for my error. I explained it was their shady withdraw/deposit schedule that caused me to overdraft and still would get the same garbage response. I have a friend that USED to work at US Bank and said the company blatantly admits to their employees that, that is how it is done to make money. Does anybody know of any banks that run the daily deposits for before running the expenses? Please feel free to email me.

The exact same thing happened to me. All said and done I lost 300 dollars due to their choice on how to handle the order of debits and deposits. I'd made deposits days before a debit and the debit would always go through first if it would cause me to overdraft. Don't even get me started on their credit card, which I'm at wits end with. The payment date changes at random every month, and they still won't send me my statements after I've moved, so I have no idea of knowing when my payments are due. Of course, if I'm late, there's extra fees, so it's in their best interest to keep me in the dark.

Over the past twenty years I've leased many, many cars. At the end of each lease I've turned in the car and have never -- not once -- been charged for any out of he ordinary wear. All of the cars I've turned in had some minor scratches, the occasional door ding, and so forth. No charges. Ever. U.S. Bank, on the other hand, seems to have discovered a profit...

US Bank I lost any hope to get my money back

On Sept. 28 2006 I went to make a cash deposit to Ladue branch, Saint Louis, MO. I wanted to do it through a real person but branch was already closed so I decided (wrongly!) to do it through ATM machine. I had 10 $100 bills to deposit, counted number of times at home (it was a wedding present from my relatives). I made a deposit at Thursday night and next day, as it usual with cash deposits, it was posted as available on my account. Next week, Tuesday, I suddenly see that this deposit was reversed and $600 was posted, plus $2 fee, to my account. I called to US Bank customer service and they started telling me something about wrong checks(!), then, after I said there were no checks, advised to visit actual branch. Which I did next day. In a bank young guy tried to look it up and have to request info about this deposit through their system so in the next day or two they can tell me what happened. After two days I was told that I was wrong, my visit to the branch and conversation with the manager enlightened me that they have all security procedures in place to eliminate any possibility of error on their account (2 people who open envelopes, special room with a camera, trustworthy personnel). At the end I left bank with nothing, blaming myself for what a stupid I was to do it through ATM and have no way to prove anything. Afterwards they sent me copies of my receipt of deposit for $1K and their receipt for $600 like it proves anything...

Last note - I checked all the places at home in case I somehow misplaced this money and found nothing.
At this point I lost any hope to get my money back...
