U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular I was talked into getting 4 phones and lines for a cheap price

I called u s cellular in December 2021 I was thinking about getting my teenagers a cellphone. I had had bad luck with us cellular over charging back ten years ago. This is why I kept calling to see if I got same answer each time. They had a promotion going for 30 dollars per line with FREE PHONES for all four lines. I was reassured time and time again that there would be no more charges other than 120.00 total per month. I signed up for the deal… a week befor the bill was due I called them to be sure no one was using data or anything in a way that would charge me Monroe mine on top of the 120. Everything looked according to plan.. I was told my first bill would be a bit higher around 180 but my second bill would be next to nothing and my third bill would go back to normal 120.00 I was mad but let it slide.

I got the first bill! 781.00! Can you imagine?!?! They are not convincing me I owe this much ever, trying to say sales tax on each phone is 50 dollars each and a connection charge of 43 for each phone, no clue where the rest is coming from but they are beyond dirty people! They refuse to remove any charges! I’m taking them to court along with 7 other local people I found on Facebook for same reasoning as my own!

Desired outcome: I want to pay 120 a month like I agreed to do! Not a penny more!

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular Overcharges, Reception, Bad Billing Practices

I've been with US Cellular for years and in 2019 added another line. I brought this other line over from another carrier to my plan and was told specifically that we'd get $600 off the new phone for the added line. Billing was confusing and I was told that my "monthly billing will decrease over the coming months as a credit of the $600 off the new phone". I noticed months in and my bill remained the same. I go back and speak with the salesperson on this. He stated the same thing yet again, that "eventually the billing will decrease in the coming months". I called customer service and the same thing. For 2 years my billing has not gone down as promised. I can pull up my account and it shows that I'm paying full price of the phones. I also wasn't allowed to pay the phones in full per their policy, which made no sense to me. This makes me think they give false advertising to keep getting your money.
I called US Cellular customer service recently on potentially upgrading our phones and what my billing would change to. First, my billing will go up, and the new plan options weren't as great as what we have currently. Second, the rep I spoke with stated that we "didn't get the discount from the current plan". So I've overpaid by $600 and promises were broken. This is false advertisement and lies on US Cellular's part. I also learned from a friend that her family had the same experience where they were promised a discount and didn't receive it. Reception is also spotty; internet/data doesn't always work (I have unlimited), calls drop often, and I have to clear my cache and open apps often to get calls out to work. Looking into switching providers as I don't trust I'll get any deals going forward.

Desired outcome: Refund of the $600 I was promised off

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular account and bill

I was twice verbally given a lower bill to stay and not to switch to cricket on 2 separate months but later found out my bill did not match my desired requested amount in order to stay on paper . I was lied to over the phone but on paper online the bill was different than i was told. i was forced to pay excessive amounts just to finally leave the company.

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular Internet service/Bait and Switch

My bait and switch from US Cellular are as follows: On the day that I signed up with my local Albia Iowa office, I was informed that I had 15 days to decide if I want to keep their service. If I didn't then all I lost was $40. I made a mental note that this wasn't the norm as I have had my share of other ISPs bouncing from one to the other because of their unwillingness to provide a service that matches the cost. During my 15 day trial, I had upload speeds that were off the charts. None that I had ever seen before. Under a minute to upload a 2-minute YT video. Websites loaded in record time. No lags. Of course, I was going to stay on board with US Cellular! Now since that 15-day trial period has ended so have my upload speeds and website loading time. As I'm writing this complaint I've waited over a half hour to upload a 38-sec video to YT. They baited me with fast internet speed that no one would say no to and they have been throttling my speeds every day after. I will be downgrading my capped data plan for now and once again moving on to the next rip off ISP.

Desired outcome: That ISPs stop ripping off the consumers with a service that doesn't even come close to matching the cost and now I've had the old bait and switch pulled on me by US Cellular.

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular Refund of overpayment denied

I made an overpayment on my US Cellular account. I called and talked to a representative named Tomas, who told me if I overpaid on my account I would need to contact my bank to put a stop payment. I told him that both payments had already cleared the account, so I would like to request a refund. He said that he would put in the request, but that it would take 20 days to issue the refund. When I questioned him on this policy, he informed me that if I had a problem with the way they do things, I should take it up with the federal government. It has been 21 days since that call and I have yet to see a refund of the overpayment.

I would like US Cellular to issue the $400 overpayment immediately.

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular Slamming and fraudulent charges

Ive been with US Cellular for almost 15 years for close to 10 my bill has been $300+ for the past 2 years I've been getting fraudulent charges, they have made arrangements, they scammed my mom in to buying these tablets, they weren't honest about the amount, they then told me they didn't have insurance, they all broke right away, they did in fact have insurance, they shut us off over 10 times and charges me 200-500 evezrytme they turned us back on. They have been charging me all these prorated charges and reconnection fees when we were shut off or when we had arrangements, they shut us off 3 times in 2 weeks and charges me 1000 in reconnection fees, they charges me hundreds of dollars in these prorated and reconnection fees when we had arrangements, and when we weren't even shut off. When I've called to ask they run me in circles until im so confused I can't argue the amount, they have credited me 100-200 a few times, but when they charge me $300-1000 a few times a year that is nothing. Last year I got them to cancel the tablet monthly amounts, they were supposed to just stop billing me instead they added 300 to my next bill. They've been charging me reconnection fees for lines that were suspended. Theres handfuls of charges, this has been going on for years, im only interested in the last year. It would be too much to go over the entire 15 years. I have more bills, and I need to explain theres so many charges, and you can't see where the disconnections are, it would be easiest to call me, you also dont know which lines are the tables, etc.

I needed to make a claim on the insurance your company sold me I have been a loyal customer for close to twenty years have always paid my bill on time for myself and my family now I need a replacement for my job and everyone I've talked to at the store and insurance company just says sorry sir and can't help me .i would like to know if you want by business or not if i get one more I'm sorry i will cancel my account and go with another carrier I can't believe there is no resolution available that would solve these problems my email is [protected]@Gmail.com phone [protected].

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular prepaid wireless

Their system hit my auto-pay twice once on the 1st once on the 10th once for $35 once for $40.47 and could not tell me why with a credit balance of $60 that in a three day. Went down to $54 they could not tell me where the money went could not transfer me to another agent could not assist me with data and was actually very rude. Having to call once a month to complain about my phone being out of service when I'm on auto pay getting put through to the same non-american English-speaking people it is really annoying I'm ready to switch companies US Cellular is a joke

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular u.s. cellular kyocera flip phone

I have a had problems with my u. S cellular prepaid phone for over a year. It drops calls, switches to roaming for no reason, goes straight to voice mail instead of ringing — I have called the technical support and get different reasons for this happening,. This is ridiculous., if I don't let it ring at least 4 times before I answer it the call on my end is dead silence and on the callers end is a garbled noise. This has happened too many times and I have complained to technical support too many times. The advertisement claims it works anywhere — this is a lie.

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular overcharges

Well thought I would try this company but wish I would have read the complaint board first then I would not have switched. The billing process is so complicated and "greek" with all your credits and stuff. No one explained the billing just that it would be high for the 1st couple of months. I would call monthly to see what my rate would be because every month it was very high. No one every told me If I was a little late they would shut down my phone that day and there is a large fee to turn them back on. Beware of this! They get the bill so racked up with charges you end up paying for those phone they say are "free". What a great disappointment! They are not flexible with charges. Stuck now. Regret my decision now.

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular cell service

I used to have ATT but recently moved over to US cellular. They do not provide good cell service by any means. Everywhere I go I am in "extended" service which means it takes a long time to load anything. I usually end up giving up and not even trying to load what I'm doing. I am getting really frustrated. I am very displease with this service and can not wait to go back to ATT.

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular unauthorized porting of phone number to t-mobile - fraud

My son's phone number was ported without our knowledge on 9/3/2018 to T-Mobile and his Identity was stolen. The caller hijacked the account and Pin number and pretended to be me on the phone to make these changes. U.S. Cellular cancelled my son's phone with no call to me to confirm, I did not sign a new contract or discuss new payment arrangements. This person went out and got loans, used his debit information to make purchases and still we don't know what else has been done. U.S. Cellular has not been accountable and will not help to get the line back! They keep transferring me to every department possible and made us drive 3 hours to a T Mobile Agent to resolve the matter which did not happen! Who can I talk to get results. I have been a great paying customer for over 20 years and can't believe this poor service. I would also like to see more security when calling for any information on the account besides a Four Digit Number Code so this does not happen to anyone else. Please advise!

After spending 10 minutes on phone with 1st US Cellular customer asst., I was transferred to "technical asst." - purgatory for customers who need more than poorly equipped and woefully under trained call center staff can handle.

Unbelievably, I waited 20 morenminutes before finally hanging up. The seeming lack of concern for clients baffles me. I imaging the majority of their revenue comes from returning/repeat/current customers-WHY WOULD YOU NOT WANT TO TAKE CARE OF YOUR BEAD AND BUTTER? My issue remains unresolved...on to more frustration tomorrow...

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular return policy and customer service

Bought an Otterbox case on the website. Case had some fit issues but I figured I'd give it a try. After a few weeks it had gotten worse and actually split so I decided to return it. US Cellular has only a 15 day return policy and they wouldn't do anything for me. I dont want a warranty replacement because I'm not impressed with the case. I want to return the case. No one in business has a meager 15 day return policy. They are all 30 days no questions asked. US cellular wants to F its customers and that's what they did.

Ive been saving for an iphone 6s plus, I put how much was needed to get the iphone on a prepaid visa the card the sales woman told me to get! This happened friday and its tuesday and still no phone and she order a 6s plus friday its monday! Monday right before nooni get call and says my card. Didn't go through but they ssure took at. 25.00 and because of the card she told me to get took out 7.00 and now im not getting the iphone I worked hard and saved my money for :I had the amount of money for the the phone I wanted! I don't want the 6s and she tried pushing that off on me right when I walked in!: ($6.00 dollar short because of a card that your sale respresentive told me to get! She order the 6s but I dont want that! I want the. 6s plus. Thats what I went in there to buy! This happen in the store of mcalester oklahhoma.! Not happy at all! Can u do something?

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular billing and sales

My family had been members of US Cellular since the early 90's. They've overcharged my account multiple times where I had to take time out off my day to go to the store to get it fixed. They sell products they don't stand behind ( they'll tell you to call the company and they have nothing to do with it), but they sure work damn hard to get you to buy these products. I went in the other day to purchase another phone the sign said it was $90 and I get to sit down and the RUDEST CSR I've ever dealt with tells me "Well, the computer says it's $150." Do NOT use this company it's a total joke.

I work 12 hour days.
Go home.
Sleep.
Back to work.

I have zero time to go into a stupid us cellular store and wait in line to ask a super simple question.

When I wad shopping for a new phone plan
Us cellular bragged their customer service was the best.
2 different agents gave me their business card and told me to call or email any time for anything.

Well I have contacted both of them by email and text message.

And I have not gotten any response back.

This is ridiculous and unacceptable.

Never buy from us cellular.

U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular refund for overpayment of $237.64

I have been on the phone a total of 45 minutes trying to get back a payment I sent to US Cellular by mistake. The first rep in Financial services said that my refund would most likely not be returned and would be held to take care of future billings. I explained that this was unacceptable and that I wanted a full refund because US Cellular takes the monthly payment from my checking account. I asked to speak to the first reps supervisor and was instead transferred to Cameron, Solution Consultant. After another 15 minute conversation, I asked for an email to verify that the refund would be sent in a timely manner and was told that it would not be possible to receive a confirmation email.
US Celular has become more and more like the hated cable company, Charter/Spectrum. Shame on you for not listening to or helping your "valued customers".
I will be filing a complaint with the Better Business Bureau and the State of Wisconsin about this matter.

So first i've been us cellular customer for over 15 years I got promotional card for upgrading was not told it expires I put it in my wallet for christmas gifts went to spend my 234 dollar no they won't except called customer service on back card will not send new one i'm done with my business here this is pitful. U.S. Cellular / United States Cellular ordering a phone gone wrong

I ordered the iPhone 8 plus silver 256. I received the iPhone 8 Gold 256. I noticed before leaving the store my paperwork showed just the 8 and not the plus but when I asked the lady confirmed she had ordered the plus. I also bought the 8 plus protective screen and when she grabbed that for me right before we left it was the plus so I was sure she had ordered the right phone. When the wrong phone came I called customer service because I am a new mom and did not want to have to bring my 3.5 month old out. The second or third person I talked to was finally able to help and he activated the iPhone 8 and said he had to do the 15 day guarantee swap thing and I paid the taxes on the plus again and was supposed to receive it within a couple days. Couple days go by no phone. I call customer service and talked to multiple people. At one point I was told the issue was on ups's end and not us cellular so I called ups (which if you ever have done so trying to get to a human is a pain in the [censor]) just to finally be told it was not on their end, us cellular had requested to have it sent back. I called customer service again and explain that and was told I needed to go to the store. I don't have time to go to the store and wait a good hour there. I pump in order to feed my child and drive a truck that gets 9mpg. I explained that and was reassured I wouldn't have to go into the store, a shipping label would be emailed to me I could print it off and send the phone back and it would all be good. I head to town because I don't have a printer just to get there and realize I have no email. I call customer service explain the situation and get told that emailing return labels is no longer allowed and they aren't sure why I was told that so they are going to mail it. Whatever no big deal, besides the fact that I still have not received one. I finally got everything lined up so I could go to the store which ended up being more of a waste of my time. They were able to switch me back to my iPhone 6 so I can send the wrong phone back, which I'm still not sure why was activated to begin with. (I was told by one customer service representative she would call back and we could do all that over the phone.. when she did call it was after an up every hour with the baby night so I asked her to call at a later time and never received a call). I was told a box with the shipping label was going to be expedited. Great! Besides the fact that that was last Monday and I have yet to receive that! I did receive an electronic shipping label which the guy explained I would and that would have the tracking number. I asked "Do I need to print this off" and he said "No, the box will have everything you need on it all you have to do is put the phone in it and put it in your mailbox or drop it off at the post office" and i said "okay just checking because I do not have a printer at home". To make matters better, once I do print off the shipping label and am able to send the wrong phone back, the money I paid the first time is going to be refunded to the first card used. I did not have a card with me as my fiancé and I use the same one and my dad (account holder) does not own one but I did have cash so I paid the woman working the cash and she used her own card. She no longer works at the store so I have no idea how I'm supposed to get the refund for that instead of her. I'm assuming I'm just out of the money since the paperwork shows I paid with that card and doesn't explain I paid cash and the worker used her own, as I'm assuming that's frowned upon. I've worked in customer service so I try not to be a [censor]. I get that mistakes happen, but this has been the worst experience.
