Popeyes

On 2-9-2023 at approximately 4:15 p.m., I went into the Popeyes on Highway 43 in Saarland, Alabama to order chicken. There were two other customers before me who had already ordered, and another customer waiting at the counter to place his order. There was a girl working the drive through and doubling as counter clerk. A manager filling orders and two young men cooking. There are no menus displayed and you have to ask about the different boxes and sides they offer. They do have handwritten pages taped to the counter front about some of the items besides chicken that are available. The man before me had been waiting and not been served until he finally said something to the drive through clerk and she told him she would get to him. A few minutes later she left the drive through, walked past the customer and out of the kitchen area to lock all the doors stating that it would be driven through only. Then she came back and took the old gentleman's order. It was a short few minutes and he got his order and left. The other two customers were still waiting for their food, and I had still not ordered. And the clerk went back to the drive through window. By this time the lady filling orders said she was going to have to get some more chicken cooked and called the two young men up and told them she needed some more chicken cooked. The cashier came and took my order of a 12 piece meal and told me it would be about a twenty minute wait because they had to cook more chicken. That was about 4:45. There was a back-up on the drive through and customers coming to the doors that had been locked and they couldn't get in. The other two customers were given their order and that left only me inside waiting. I finally got my food around 5:00 and went home. The real problem is that this is not unusual service at that Popeyes. This has been going on for a couple of years now. The place is not clean, the clerk working the counter is not friendly and acts like she is doing me a favor by even acknowledging me in the first place. They are always understaffed and the sides at times taste like they were made a couple of days earlier. I love popeyes chicken but have decided to go to KFC further down the street until my popeyes gets a good cleaning, has some menus up for the customer to order from, and a cashier that at least pretends to care about her customers. I appreciate your giving me this place to complain, and hope you can get something done about some of the things that are going on here. Might I suggest a secret shopper so you can find out for yourselves. Sincerely Jeannine Wike
