On 7/19/23, I bought a 2010 Subaru Forester, on 7/20/23, I took the vehicle to Express Oil Change, 104 E. Kiehl Ave Sherwood, Ar. to have an oil change. While changing the oil, I heard the technician up top tell the other workers "I just lost 4.5 quarts of oil", only to hear the technician below was not ready for oil to be put in, the drain plug was not screwed in, the top side tech then put oil in again. At this point I don't know if the plug was in when he started putting oil in for the 2nd attempt, I do not recall Technician showing me the dipstick afterwards. Before exiting, I had to ask for the windshield sticker because no one gave me one before or after I paid.
The evening of 7/31/23, my son was on his way to Memphis,TN when the vehicle died on him on the Highway (I-40), I had the vehicle towed to Meineke, 7121 John F Kennedy Blvd, North Little Rock, Ar thinking maybe it needs a tune up. The morning of 8/1/23, Kyle, the manager(Meineke) called me to inform me that the vehicle had NO OIL on the dip stick after adding 3 Qts of engine oil, oil finally reads on dipstick, when started vehicle engine shaking and loud noise from inside engine can be heard, rod is knocking. Engine has internal damage due to lack of oil. Recommend engine replacement. (Written Statement from Kyle). I ask Kyle if there was any visible oil leaks or oil spray and he informed me there was no evidence of oil leaking anywhere. I then went to Express oil change and spoke to Tim, the manager and explained the situation to him, he asked if he can go look at the vehicle, I said yes & gave him the key. later that afternoon I went back Express oil change to talk to Tim on his findings and he told me he found NO evidence of oil leaking anywhere but notice the engine was damaged. Tim told me he went back and looked at the video and saw where the oil was put in and it drained back out and was put back in for a 2nd time but didn't show me the video. I asked Tim, if you'll put 5 qts in, the car is not smoking, it's not leaking, it dont just disappear, where is the oil? He had no definite answer.
When I went back to Meineke to have vehicle towed home, I spoke with Kyle, the manager and he informed me that Tim was telling him about how his guys messed up on the oil change.
Desired outcome: I paid $3500.00 for the vehicle, I would like to be fairly compensated for the vehicle & refunded for services performed that day.
