On September 16, 2023 I took my car in for oil change along with tires rotation and balance. Only to be told by the technician that I’m not due for an oil change and that my tires don’t need to be balanced nor rotated. Coming from a mechanical background I was astonished that they were unwilling to at the least meet me half-way with rotating my tires. I once again requested for my tires to be rotated and balanced. The technician stated that due to the tire not vibrating there is no need to balance nor rotate the tires, plus my lug nuts on the cars are swollen and need to be replaced anyway. Upon getting no assistance, I approached the manager and requested him to return my car.
On October 4, I took my car back with brand new lug nuts for my tires and to obtain an oil change and tire rotation. I handed the technician the window sticker that I received from the prior oil change, only to be told again that I still had two thousand more miles left before I needed to change the oil. I immediately told him that I need an oil change because of my driving habit and driving long distance to Canada. The technician went over to his computer and replied “Are you going to get your tires rotated and balanced also?” I replied “ yes I do have a 11:00 am appointment to have it done.
As the technician took the car over to another bay, I observed him and another technician looking at my car having a conversation. After the car was pulled into the second bay to complete the balance and rotation, I informed the technician that on my prior visit I was told that I needed new lug nuts and that I had a brand set for all four wheels. The technician immediately went back to the manager, who immediately came over and advised that there will be a $35 extra charge to replace the old one with the new. I informed him that the price was ok. I was standing outside and observed that the technician was only removing the old lug nuts and replacing them with the new ones. I asked him if he was going to balance and rotated the tires. He reply “ I did rotate and balance the wheels”. At no time did I observed him removing any of the tires to be balance nor rotated. I went into the office to speak with the manager David Wilson, who immediately told that the cost to change to the lug nuts had changed from $35 to $45. I requested the bill, paid it and received a copy. I then step out office and awaited for the technician to pull my car out of the bay. As he exit my car, I requested for the key only to be told that he can give it to my until I pay the bill. I immediately showed him that the bill was paid, however he took my key to the office and handed it over to another technician. The other technician refused to hand me my key, even after showing him that my bill was already paid. He threw my key on the floor and yelled "I don’t think you know who you are talking to!” At this point I grabbed my key off the floor and quickly exited, feeling threatened and scared for my life.
Desired outcome: I would like an apology due to the lack of customer service. And the manager to speak down to me as if I no mechanical skill. Mr Wilson needs to be take a class on his interpersonal skills when dealing with customers.
