Lowe's - Inflexible return policy during the pandemic

My husband purchased five Fleximount units from Lowe's for overhead
storage in the garage. I am not sure of the date of purchase, but they were
mail orders. I could not pull up the receipt from Lowe's website, but it had been over ninety days. My husband could not find anyone to
install the mounts, and soon after ordering them, he became ill with a life-threatening illness and could not install the mounts himself. In the midst of this, we are in the process of moving close to Boston for my husband to receive the medical care he needs. I am a seventy-year-old woman trying to care for my husband, find a house, and pack up to
move.
On September 8, 2021, I took the units back to the store in Torrington, Connecticut. It was a struggle as each unit weighs almost seventy pounds. I was told Lowe's would not take them back. The manager refused to take them back. The product was in unopened containers. I
left the units at the store, and I am now out $690.63 with tax I cannot
afford to lose. I could have kept the units and taken them back to a different store and lied about how long I had the units. I would have received a merchandise voucher. However, I do not have the time or energy.
With all the hardships Americans are dealing with now with the
pandemic and all the economic burdens that have been placed on consumers, Lowe's should be more accommodating to their customers. The manager was aware of my personal hardship and refused to issue a
merchandise voucher. Other companies have drastically loosened their
return policies over the past year because of Americans' hardships. I wonder if Lowe's has received government subsidies during the
pandemic to offset the losses they incur during these tough times.

I have been a very good customer of Lowe's for many years and have spent a lot of money there. I was not even aware of a ninety-day return policy. I
left my name and phone number at customer service in Torrington.

Desired outcome: A merchandise voucher for $690.63
