I called Approximately 1 month prior to my scheduled move to a new home rental to notify ADT that I had a need to cancel my service contract due to the fact that the landlord would not allow hardwiring of a new home security provider. The agent offer the wireless system BLUE as an option and I accepted. The agent informed me that my system would be arriving within 1 week, I received in within 3 days. I also received a bill for the remaining balance on my regular ADT system for $594.88. When I called I was told that I would receive a credit of this amount once BLUE was installed at the new home. Well the problem with that is I have been encountering problems with the install for an entire week. I've called every single day of this week and the trouble shooting process has insulted my intelligence, told me I would have to wait to speak to a Supervisor because they can't reach one due to the fact they are working from home, and told me that my door is open when troubleshooting the problem with the sensors, when I'm looking at a closed door! This process has been exhausting and frustrating. I've done every thing that the instructions suggested to get the sensors to properly register with the HUB. I've moved them closer-with the dot's lined up - and moved them further apart - still doesn't work. I've reset with the battery out. Still doesn't work. I've had agents tell me that once I get to the location of the system they would call me at a specified time, and no call. Needless to say, my house is NOT secured without the system and I don't feel it will be secure WITH the system. I should not have to waste this much time and energy for a system I'm sure I'm being charged for but doesn't work!
Desired outcome: I want to go with another provider after over 25 years with ADT, without cancellation penalties.
ADT Security Services - home security alarm
I had ADT home security installed in my home and 7 days later my home was broke into .when I called adt to report the break in and also I informed them that the installer did not adhere to he original Inatallatuon amount and services and was calling and coming to my house personally on his own time .Adt states that other coda hd been set on my alarm that I did not know were possible and did not set, they stated I could not cancel their services because it had been over 3 days .My home got broke. I to again a week later and adt will not let me out of my contact mor will they mine and my children's safety
Adt deceived me regarding pricing and safety
Adt did not install the system and pricing which was agreed .My home has been broken into to twice since the 21/3"2 weeks I've had it .Adt refuses to let me out of my contract and doesn't protect my safety
ADT Security Services - pulling funds from automtic bill pay accounts - even after service is cancelled
Unlike most legitimate companies, atd does not allow you to cancel your alarm services via their user account system and they require you to send a written and signed request for cancellation. They give no confirmation of receipt of my cancellation fax. So i e-mailed them and received confirmation that my account was closed. Even then, they continue to do the automatic payment withdrawals from my account. The next e-mail said my account was not cancelled and i needed to give written and signed 30 day notice again. I cancelled my account in writing via fax on 10/20/2015 and just had a $50 withdrawal from my bank account on 12/14/2015 from adt. Lesson learned - never use adt for your security needs and if you do, don't give them your account information to do automatic bill pay. They are a scamming the people they are supposed to be protecting!
