I just had the worst experience at Dollar Tree #168 on 4105 N. Hwy 98 in Lakeland, FL [protected] on Jan. 23, 2021 at 3:30 p.m. There was one register open and a long line of people down one whole isle. The Manager only came over when the cashier asked for a void. I thought she was going to have the other cashier open up to take some of the load apparently though she was getting her cash drawer to cash out. She turned around and left all the while people were continually getting in line. The line was also congested because people wanted to keep their place in line. By the time the cashier was able to check me out the line was down two aisles and half way across the store to the kitchen supplies. Once checked out I went to the office where the two employees' had been sitting for the past ten minutes. I told the manager the line was back two isles and half way across the store. She said I know and I have to finishing cashing her out because I have money all over the table. I found that very rude. I walked out the store and shortly there after the employee she was cashing out came out the store and got into the car where someone was waiting for her. This is not the first time I have been in this dollar tree on a weekend and only one or two registers have been open and the lines down the isles in the last month. This dollar tree has habitually done this. This also seems to happen a lot when its African American employees are working on the the register/s.
Also the store is very poorly stocked during all times of the week. One would of thought the store was closing by how poorly stocked some items are. This is a busy store in a busy shopping plaza, but I have shopped at the two other Dollar Trees in the vicinity and they are never that poorly stocked.
The manager could of handled it better by having the cashier that was collecting her cash drawer and herself (both happened to be Caucasian) get on the register until the lines died back down then had her break down her register to cash out. She should of shown better judgement when she first saw that the registers were starting to get busy again.
Desired outcome: Probation or demotion of manager
