Walgreens - Pharmacy staff. Alexis RPh. Andy Tech

Unprofessional, provoking, lazy, incompetent and disrespectful.

the incident involved two pharmacy staff employees. RPh Alexis and Pharmacy tech Andy on 7/25/23 at store number 8398 Sheldon Rd. Tampa, FL.

Initially a call was made to the store around 8p to refill an anti-emetic. Call was picked up by Andy who did not identify himself. Who kept saying store will be closing at 9p and you’ll need to transfer to another store. Then claimed this was the wrong store being reached and then when asked again said no profile exists for patient in question.

Out of frustration I drove to the store and was at the drive through window approximately 8:30p. Was told to wait via speaker by pharmacist Alexis. She never even looked my way and both her and tech Andy were just looking at each other having a full conversation and laughing. 7 min later tech Andy made an unprofessional gesture as he was approaching the drive through window, spoke via the pick up drawer. Did not apologize or acknowledge the wait. When he got the pt name, went off saying “I told you to pick it up at the other store and we will not fill it here” and started mouthing off. I requested to speak with the pharmacist, Alexis approached the window asking for the name. Stated can’t find profile at first and then when she found it said we don’t fill prescriptions when it’s 30min to closing. This then took an unprofessional turn and she became aggressive.

From my previous experience as a pharmacist with Walgreens and as a customer for over 20 years I have never seen such behavior and this would never have been tolerated nor accepted by management Or leadership. To say the least very disappointed and I started looking into Google reviews only to find same feedback online about this store’s Pharmacy staff. I have submitted a corporate complaint and will escalate to Board of Pharmacy as well as this behavior is a disgrace to patient care.

Desired outcome: Disciplinary action for pharmacy manager and tech
