I purchased an area rug and the Worrynomore 7 year warranty from the Macy's rug gallery. Several month's later I spilled a large cup of coffee on the coffee table which spilled onto the rug below. It created a large stain on the rug. I subsequently filed a claim to have the rug cleaned or replaced as per the terms under the WorryNoMore contract with Uniters. Eventually they sent a technician to my home who I assumed would attempt to clean the stain. He spent a few minutes evaluating the damage, took a few pictures and left. Several days later, I received an email from Uniters stating my claim was being denied because their assessment was that the rug showed signs of numerous stains from multiple incidents. This is simply not true. The only stains on the rug are the result of a single incident as described above. I disputed their decision by sending numerous pictures showing how the stain conformed to the contours of the coffee table. Once again after several days I was once again informed that my claim had been denied and the case was now closed. I have since learned that this is a common ploy by Uniters. It appears their business model is to collect the premiums and then deny any claims. BUYER BEWARE Uniters does not act in good faith.
Uniters - 5-year useless warranty
Purchased a sofa from Wayfair (Bond by Klaussner) in 2017. Wayfair asked if I wanted 5 yr warranty "for damage". I specifically said "yes if it covers breakdown of cushions and springs". Was told "yes it did", so paid almost $200.00 for it. 12/24/2019 had a spring break. Submitted claim and all the ridiculous information that this B.S. Company asked for. CLAIM DENIED!
This Company is nothing more than a SCAM, in my opinion, and I am going to be poisting EVERYWHERE I can find regarding the practices of this LOW-GRADE, SUB-PAR, USELESS COMPANY
I bought a dining room set in amazon. after a year one chair has a leg is broken. my complaint was denied. do not waste your money! please do not! you will loose that $... I promise you
Uniters - Motorized lay-z-boy recliner
Simple flange broke that took 10 mins. to replace. What made the easy become impossible was the wait on a simple part. 3 weeks finally brought a repairman to order the needed part. I followed up 2 weeks later and was told it was ordered and could take 12 weeks. After 10 weeks I discovered the part was still not ordered even though I was repeatedly assured (lied to) that it had been. Out of sheer desperation (chronic injuries which is what I got the chair to support), I reached out to the local retailer that sold it to me. They had the part in stock and arranged for it's install in a case of days. I would never knowingly deal with "uniters" or the other company names they hide behind again. They cannot accomplish the most simple tasks in anywhere near a timely fashion, they seem completely inept at following their own guidelines, If possible they will lie to cover their trained idiocy, but above all... Nothing is ever their fault.
Were it not for the local retailers, who I honestly can't say enough kind things about... I would include their names but I don't want to attach their names to Uniters reputation. At any rate, it not for them, I would still be in agonizing pain and talking to lawyers about how best to inconvenience them as they did to me.
Avoid them at all costs.
Uniters - 7 year extended warranty - would not honor valid warranty claims
DO NOT PURCHASE Any Type of FURNITURE WARRANTY from UNITERS NORTH AMERICA! Avoid them at all cost! Unless, you want a guarantee that your valid warranty claims will be denied, and be given the run around. That seems to be their Standard Practice. In 2010, I was encouraged by the Value City Furniture salesman to purchase a seven-year, extended warranty for my Sectional. Since the coverage was decent, I went ahead and purchased it. However, a few years later, VCF apparently discontinued my Sectional. Which meant that it would be close to impossible for Uniters NA to honor any claims I may file within the seven-year extended warranty term. Needless to say, Uniters NA did everything in their power to avoid honoring my valid warranty claims that I initially filed in 2014. As of this past October, I'd been battling it out with Uniters NA for 12 months! When I saw the numerous complaints against Uniters NA on various sites, that dated back several years, filed by other consumers whose valid warranty claims were denied, I decided to contact the Better Business Bureau. Below, are the consumer sites where I saw the numerous complaints against Uniters NA. 1. ConsumerAffairs.com 2. [redacted].com 3. ComplaintsBoard.com Below, is the BBB office that handles Uniters NA, which is located in Florida. Better Business Bureau Serving Southeast Florida and the Caribbean 4411 Beacon Circle Suite 4 West Palm Beach, FL 33407 p: [protected] f: [protected] bbb.org My BBB case against Uniters NA, which you can view on the BBB site, is hopefully close to reaching a final resolution. After only two months, it took BBB a fraction of the time it took me to receive any response from Uniters NA. Since VCF discontinued my Sectional, BBB is requiring Uniters NA and VCF to replace my entire Sectional with another item of equal or lesser amount than what I paid for my Sectional. Since I will be replacing my Sectional with another Sectional or couch, I would expect that the seven-year, extended warranty will automatically transfer. If VCF and Uniters NA do not follow through with the full replacement transaction, I will be notifying BBB. If you've had no success getting Uniters NA to honor your valid warranty claims, I would highly recommend contacting BBB. Since BBB wants to see that you made every effort to work with Uniters NA, make sure to share with BBB all the attempts you made to communicate with Uniters NA, such as how, when, and at what frequency you contacted them. Also mention what response from Uniters NA, if any, you received with each of your attempts. It also helps to offer to provide BBB copies of your email exchanges with Uniters NA, the purchase receipt of your furniture, which should include the cost of the warranty, as well as a copy of the pamphlet detailing the coverage. Once I receive the full replacement for my Sectional, I will notify BBB and they will then consider my case closed.
