My mother Dana Sheppard 75 years of age was harassed at the self-checkout counter by a Walmart employee after buying and paying for cat food treats before leaving the self-checkout area on the grocery side at around 7pm 10/27/2022. This should be on video. Walmart associate was very rude and dominating acting toward my mother scaring her and making her cry when she was walking out the main doors. During the harassment he began to accuse her of theft and demanded the receipt. He checked the receipt and found the receipt correct on the packs of cat snacks she bought. She asked for her receipt back and he told her she did not need it. She told him she needed the receipt in order to leave with the products she bought. He did not let her go once the receipt was given back, he then demanded she empty her purse out and she did not empty it she opened the purse for him to look into because it was full of her personal belongings. He looked, did not say a word, she asked if she could go, he threw his hands up and replied "Yeah!" She was leaving out the door and he followed her to the door. This employee had zero cause to harass my mother and everyone around the self-checkout were all watching and smiling.
How embarrassing that a customer service representative can act so professional toward an older person. This is a pure violation of age harassment from this employee and Walmart needs to educate and train their employees on how to respect customers and not intimidate our older class citizens. I am writing this as the first letter about this Walmart store. Although I don't have dates and times of the other instances, this is not the first time me or other family members have experienced some type of discrimination, harassment, and unprofessionalism from employees working in this store.
Walmart needs to emphasize the importance of respecting people from different ages, races, ethnicities, and in this instance gender along with age.
Desired outcome: and provide a document that their location employees are receive cultural diversity training.

Soooo, did WalMart apologize to you for your mother,apologize directly to your mother, to both of you or make amends by way of a gift card because of what their MOTHER scumbag employee did by harassment, elder abuse and making her cry? That MOTHER IS A MEAN S O B (sonofabum) and needs to be demoted by corporate!
