Dollar General

I was in the above store on September 10, 2023 around 2pm. Many of the aisles were partially blocked by full racks of stock (at least 6 or more) waiting to be shelved. The clerks on duty were wasting time filling the candy and gum shelves when there was clearly more urgent areas to attend. There is an obvious problem with time management and personnel.

As a past retail manager, I know store sales dictate the number of hours allowed for staffing, but if the product is always on racks and never on the shelves, sales will suffer irreparably. It's a vicious cycle that will never be broken until you get enough staff in there to clean up the backstock.

On a previous visit to pick up milk, I discovered an entire rack of milk sitting on the floor in front of the coolers. God only knows how long it sat unrefrigerated. The dates indicated it was new stock and not expired.

I find no pleasure in making these observations, but I know how hard it is to get customers back if disappointed once too often. This is a good location. I'd hate to see it closed because of things that could easily be corrected.
