STORE # 07153
Supervisor - Veronica
I was shopping on my lunch break & I seen there was 70% Off sale on yellow dot toys. I had my cart full of (what I thought) yellow dot toys. At the register, the toys were not ringing up at 70% off. The cashier asked her supervisor, who informed me the sale was on yellow "Dots", my toys were yellow "Stars". So I made the decision not to purchase some of the toys. I grabbed an empty cart & was placing the toys that I did not want to purchase in the basket & that's when the supervisor "Veronica" stated to me that if I was not purchasing these toys, I needed to take them & put them back on the shelves (She was rude, her tone was disrespectful & she never once smiled) I looked at the time & it was 12:50 (I have to be back from lunch at 1:00pm) I told her that I was on lunch & didn't think I would have time to put these toys back & she stated that just because she worked here, didn't mean that she was supposed to put my items back. She had a back & forth, get the last word mentality, to avoid confrontation, I took the basket of toys & I put them back in the toy isle & when I got back to the register, there were 5 customers in front of me. I didn't leave the store until 1:00pm, I was late clocking back into my job, which is frowned upon at my company. I spent $68.94 today on my lunch break, I shop at this dollar store several times a week & spend lots of money with your stores. I will not return to this dollar store until "Veronica" is either fired or moved to another store. I work for a company on Gilmore Industrial Pkwy with over 125 employees, I am sending out a mass email asking everyone to boycott your store & I am going to spread this to the surrounding companies. I am an account specialist at my company & deal with customers daily. I would never disrespect a customer in this manner. I expect the same respect when I am the consumer. After this email, I am going to call the 1-800 number & hopefully speak with a live person. I will go to the media, the courier journal, social media, whatever I have to do to get results. I am very upset that I was humiliated, disrespected & belittled & now I have to start shopping at a different location, farther from my employer, leaving me less time for my breaks. Id like a follow up response & Id like her removed from this store.
*Id like to add that the cashier "Vicki" is always very respectful, very personable & she greets me in & out of the store every time I shop there, she apologized to me for the way I was treated. I feel sorry for her for having to work under such disrespectful management & obviously a hostile environment, if Veronica treats customers in this manor, I have no doubt this is happening in the workplace.
I am a civil rights activist, I work closely with a number of groups who are fighting for changes, I will not stop until I am assured that this has been resolved for all parties involved, including the cashier, who stood by quietly, but apologized for her supervisors behavior & told me there was nothing she could do because Veronica was her supervisor. Unacceptable... All Lives Matter...
Desired outcome: Id like the supervisor "Veronica" to be removed from this store, so I can continue shopping there. I will not return to this store if she is working there.
