07/23/23 around 7:30pm I was in the store in Start, LA. I left my wallet at this store. I went back 07/24/23 around 8:30am to see if anyone had seen my wallet. The manage on duty informed me that I needed to file a police report. I did as she instructed. I just found out on 07/25/23 the security camera showed that my wallet was turned in by another customer and was given to the cashier on duty. The Sheriff's department can not release the persons name yet; but I do know it is a female. This case is still under investigation at this time. I was also told that there is footage on the security camera that gives the Sheriff's department enough information to proceed to prosecute this employee as she has stolen $1200 cash out of my wallet. I am a single mother. I am raising my granddaughter. I have a daughter who is about to have a baby any day. It makes me very angry for someone to steal from me as hard as I work. I just felt like you should know if this employee with steal from a customer you should ask yourself what has she stolen from your company. I plan on prosecuting this person to the fullest extent of the law as she has stolen from my children. As if it was not bad enough, we just lost everything we own to a house fire and are still trying to rebuild from someone to knowingly steal something that does not belong to her. I plan on finding out who the customer was that turned in my wallet to your thieving employee as he was trying to do the honest and right thing as I would like to personally thank him and to also let him know next time do not give it to the store employees at this location as they are not honest and to take to the police department instead maybe they will not steal from hard working citizens. This is consider to be a felony and I have asked the law enforcement to make sure she is punished to the full extent of the law. I do not want any other customer to ever experience this emotional and financial loss. This lady took my bill money and my granddaughters school clothes money. I am not going to let it go unless she gives me back what is rightfully belongs to me. Thank you for time and attention to this matter.
