I was visiting Minnesota and was shopping with my brother and sister-in-law on January 1, 2021 at the Maple Grove store. Initially, my brother went into the store and we followed later. When my sister-in-law and I walked into the store my brother warned us that an employee was not happy with him. He went into store without his mask. The employee asked him to put his mask on and he said no. Whether my brother was wrong or not, the employee proceeded to be the most rudest person I have ever come across. Especially as an employee.
While, my brother was getting his items rung up. The employee never stopped being rude and commenting to my brother. Getting my brother very mad and upset. To me, this was completely uncalled for. The employee did his job and asked the customer to put on a mask. The customer refused. That should have been the end of the discussion. The employee took it to another whole level.
As I was standing there watching this exchange, I could tell not only was my brother upset, my sister-in-law and the employee ringing up the items were uncomfortable as well. He would never stop making snide comments. Even as we left the store he, while ringing up another customer, he made a parting shot. Totally unprofessional.
This employee was an elderly man with glasses. I did not get close enough to catch his name but this was not the first time I had the misfortune to encounter him. My earlier visit last summer had been an unpleasant encounter as he was very rude also. Just not as bad as this last visit.
This can't be the first complaint against this employee as I see him being rude to lots of customers.
While my complaint may not lead to anything be done, I can't let this go without letting you aware that was totally uncalled for. If he didn't like a customer not wearing a mask. and the customer refused, he should have taken this up with his manager. Not take it out against the customer.
As I mentioned earlier, he was totally unprofessional.

Desired outcome: The desired outcome would be for the employee to have some training on customer service.
