I gave my name because I would like to know if my reasoning is wrong. Please respond. Thank you.
First I would like to make it clear I am a frequent customer at your restaurant either dining in, delivery or using curbside.
I have ordered the rib steak many times and never had a complaint. It was always very tender, juicy and cooked to perfection.
On 8/4/2019 I dined in and ordered a ribeye medium well. The steak was presented several minutes later over cooked. It was well done. I asked if I could get another one and the manager agreed to another one. The second steak was cooked exactly the way it should have been but it was as tough as leather and it was very thick. Again I called the manager to look at the steak and he himself said it was apparently a bad cut of meat. He then stated he would have a filet cooked. I reluctantly agreed because I was hungry. The steak was cooked medium well and was tender. Because this was not the steak I wanted I did not enjoy my meal at all.
I had a 20% coupon for my meal. The manager would not allow me to pay the price of the ribeye but charged me the price of the filet mignon. He felt since I had the coupon I was already getting a discount for it.
The difference in the price was only a dollar and change but I feel it was the principle of the situation. I should have paid the price for the ribeye. It was not my fault the first steak was over cooked and the second one was too tough.
I wish I had just left the restaurant after the second steak was not edible to me because of how tough it was. I ended up getting a to go tray for my food and left. Ate elsewhere.
3/4 of that mignon is still in my refrigerator today 8/7/2019. Don't want to throw my money in the trash.
I paid for bad service and for a steak I didn't enjoy.
Hope my next visit is not a repeat.
