I bought a washer from PC Richard and Son in Paramus, and was confirmed to deliver washer on Friday.However, I waited and waited. P C Richards and Son deliverman have NO show and NO phone call.
I called again and again. However, nobody answer my phone! I wasted 4 house for nonthing!

I will never buy P C Richard and Son electronic products again. How could they do that to their customer?

PC Richard & Son - I called P C Richard & Son in Paramus Rip-Off and demanded my money back and was told that they do not refund air conditioners,
I called PC Richard & Son in Paramus NJ just before the heat wave this week to see if they had any Friedrich 8000 btu window units available..salesman lies and says he has their latest model(lie#1) that boasts 4 fan/cooling speeds but had only (2) left and I'd need to leave a deposit to hold one if I wanted it..fine, ..I left a deposit and went to the store to pick the unit up..I paid the balance and bought the 5 year warranty as well..$169.00+$679.00+tax all paid in CASH..I get the piece of *** home and when I was reading the manual found out there was only 3 speeds available..(lie#2) I power up the unit and find that only 2 of the 3 speeds actually work..the lowest speed is not available nor can you turn the unit on or off using the remote control..I call Friedrich support..and was told that my model was discontinued and required a "software update"..they would send me via snail mail, a zip-drive gizmo that will plug into the USB port on the A/C...
This is a DEFECT!
I called P C Richard & Son in Paramus Rip-Off and demanded my money back and was told that they do not refund air conditioners, but that I could schlepp the POS back there provided I had ALL of the original packing material(so they could pass it on to the next *** that comes along) and choose either a direct replacement or another brand altogether...STAY CLEAR OF PC RIP-OFF & SONS!

and if you DO go there, ..DO NOT PAY in CASH! pay only by credit card, or ATM debit card so if there is a problem(and invariably there WILL be) you can dispute the charge and get your money back!

Their sales people may be fine but if you need service, it's exactly the opposite. You are at their mercy & they stink. Today is the 3rd service call on the same appliance, a refrigerator, . They refuse to give you a time frame ahead of time, so you have to leave the entire day open'. Of course their time is more important than yours, every time, . I spoke to a supervisor James Langford this morning & he was very uncooperative & offered no alternatives for resolving our problem!.
By the way, this is not the first time we had problems like this.. The last time we had to appeal to the salesman & the store manager James Langford for help'.
It is 9:30 am & we just found out that the tech will be here between 1 & 4/. We'll make sure to roll out the red carpet for him.

PC Richard & Son - My new delivery he would not give me a date either/.I am trying to put my house back together ..
I purchased over $8000.00 worth of appliances.As long as I was buying I got the whole sales pitch from Nick S, my contracter made a mistake and I had to return my washer and Dryer for a smaller but more expensive one.the whole time the sales person Nick S was complaining about all the work.
I told her I work to .anyway while she was adding up all the new charges she added the first delivery charge again maybe by mistake .anyway when I called her she denied it ".my other complaint is because I bought differntappliances (smaller) they were more expensive and P C Richard & Son in Paramus would not increase my credit !.so I had to put it on another charge, no big deal I was going to pay the whole thing anyway:.needless to say I am done with your salesperson in oceanside and if I buy my Flatscreen TV I will go someplays else..My new delivery he would not give me a date either/.I am trying to put my house back together I lost everything I shhould not have to deal with this because she wants her comission, .I would like them to give me a date when they pick up the big washer & Dryer and deliver the new smaller ones so my kitchen guy can start with my kitchen.

First of all, I ordered a dishwasher and they were suppose to call when it was ready to be installed- I had to call them.The two installers put three gouges in my new wood floor that I had covered with construction paper so this wouldn't happen and a gouge in my cabinet door:.
They also left a puddle of water under the sink without saying anything?. In all my years I have never dealt with such unprofessionalism and diregard for property as I have with this company!. I have had a lot of work done with Lowes and they always give you time to inspect, these two couldn't wait to get out of the house fast enough.. I should have realized there was something wrong when I saw the construction paper ripped, .
Do NOT buy anything from this company.. I can't be the only one this has happened to/. If this is the kind of incompetent people they employ, they obviously do not care about their customers or keeping them for that matter".

PC Richard & Son - I can only hope that my refrigerator wasn't damaged. Don't they train people how to move the appliances?
After they guys left and I had taken all the styrofoam and tape out of the new refrigerator and put my food in it, I read the instruction manual. It clearly warned not to move it by putting the dolly under the side-it should go under the back only. Of course the delivery guys had done it the wrong way and I can only hope that my refrigerator wasn't damaged. Don't they train people how to move the appliances?
The plastic cap that is supposed to cover the hole for the screw that attaches the freezer handle is missing as well. I had asked to have the door reversed and the doors are not even quite level, but good enough. So the assembly was sub-par but barely acceptable

The next week, I checked my credit card account for the $100 credit for the dents and there was only one for $100. What the heck?
So I again called the store and spoke to girls at front desk and she said the manager, James, said that $100 was the amount we had agreed on. I explained to her that we had agreed on $100and I had even asked for $100 and he had said "no" and that obviously $100 was an odd amount, not one that would be offered or accepted for a credit for damages to an appliance, that for her own benefit she should know that he was lying and that we had agreed on $100. I told her that I would give them until the next week to refund the money or I would file a charge back on my credit card.
I still wanted to resolve the situation without a lot of trouble so I then called the central number for P.C. Richard & Son customer service, [protected] and spoke to the very pleasant representative for over fifteen minutes explaining the problem to her. She saw a note on my order that there was supposed to be a credit for damage to the refrigerator but said I would need to talk to Craig about it and he was with another customer. She did manage to figure out that the $100 amount was for delivery plus tax and I asked her if that was because the delivery was late but there was no note of that.
I told her that all I wanted was the $100.00 that I had been promised and that I shouldn't have to go to a lot of trouble for it and would wait for his call but that I would not call him since I had already made so many calls about this and I had rather hold to speak with him. That was not possible but she did give me a number for Craig, [protected], and she took my phone number and assured me that he would call me right back that day.

PC Richard & Son - james langford, had indeed put in the request for the $100 credit to the main office.
I immediately stopped the delivery guys and called the store at [protected] and spoke to the manager, James Langford, who said that he would give me a $100 credit for the damage. While he held the line, I looked at the refrigerator again and more carefully to see if there were other dents and I then asked him for $100 credit because the dents are so bad and show but he said no, it was $100 or I could "refuse delivery" and they would send another one, that those were my "only two choices" and I had "to decide right this minute". Wow. He wasn't even nice about it, like it was my fault they sent a dented refrigerator and that my time sitting around waiting for delivery was no big deal and that I could just take another day off to wait for another delivery to correct their error.
I asked him how I could trust that I would really get the $100 credit and he said they had "been in business over 103 years" and he said "If I were you, I wouldn't worry about it." I accepted the $100 credit because I had already spent one entire day waiting for the delivery and my old refrigerator was already out in the hallway and I did not want to waste another day on a stupid refrigerator delivery.
I did note the dents on the driver's report section on the delivery receipt before signing and I accepted the refrigerator based on the manager's promise of a $100 credit for the damage--this was an oral contract, no doubt about that.
After they had finished delivering the refrigerator, I was still uncomfortable because I didn't know or really trust Dick so I called the P.C. Richard & Son in Paramus store back to confirm the $100 credit and spoke to Penelope who had arranged for the delivery insurance. She checked and said that the manager, James Langford, had indeed put in the request for the $100 credit to the main office and since I seen her and spoken with her, I felt I could trust that al all..

PC Richard & Son - They weren't rude, just absolutely indifferent and unhelpful. So I left there and went to Home Depot.
I went to P.C. Richard & Son in Paramus New Jersey in June 2013 to shop for a refrigerator to replace my old one and get the Energy Star rebate. I had trouble getting the salespeople in the kitchen appliance area to help me. They weren't busy but they obviously didn't know anything about the refrigerators and didn't make any effort to be helpful. They weren't rude, just absolutely indifferent and unhelpful. So I left there and went to Home Depot.
Home Depot didn't have a good selection and the salespeople were much more knowledgeable and helpful than the ones In the size refrigerator I was looking for, I was told there was only one Energy Star rated model so on I purchased what was supposed to be a brand new GE refrigerator from them and set a delivery date in three days.

PC Richard & Son - My advice is do not let them talk you into that because you may need the protection provided by your credit card .
There was one strange thing in this transaction: they seemed to have my name and address in their computer and insisted I had a P.C. Richard & Son credit account. I was 99.9% sure that I had never bought anything at P.C. Richard & Son so I didn't understand that and said he must be mistaken. I charged the refrigerator to my Visa card as I had planned, which turned out to be a good thing., I had bought a television for a friend by opening an account to get a discount and I figured maybe it was a P.C. Richard & Son rather than Best Buy. Later when I checked with my friend, it had been Best Buy, so I am now 100% sure that I have never purchased anything from P.C. Richard & Son in Paramus before and still wonder if that is some kind of scam where they are running a credit check instantly on people and trying to get them signed up for a P.C. Richard & Son credit account.
My advice is do not let them talk you into that because you may need the protection provided by your credit card company just as I ended up needing it. Do not buy an appliance from them unless you use a credit card. Do not pay cash, do not write a check, do not use their credit services.
When I got home, I called the bank that handles their credit accounts and they checked by my social security number and they had no history of me every having any kind of account. This made me feel safer about possible identity theft but I am still not sure if this was an honest error or some sort of an attempt to trick people into opening credit accounts. I have no explanation of why I am in their computer system unless this is some kind of scam. The bank couldn't provide an alternative explanation, either.
The next day, I went back to the store to arrange for the insurance certificate for the delivery to be faxed to my building's management office. If they were to show up without a correct certificate, they wouldn't be able to make the delivery and I wanted to avoid problems. I spoke to girl behind the counter, who was very helpful. When I called back, she confirmed that the insurance company was faxing the certificate and later when I checked with the office in my building, they had received it and all was in order.

this is the worst company in the world.I wish I could publish the photo of the washing machine installation they did, it is unbelievable.
after 3 trips, meaning 3 lost days of work, i finally hired a plumber to do the job right. now the machine is broken and getting them to honor the extended service agreement is total nightmare. cancelled appointments, no availability to service, they should be sued. also cannot give a window for installation or service until the morning of.
why is that? do i have to lose another entire day of work because they cant figure out their route the day before like every other store?
i hate this company more than i would have thought possible.how is it they don't go out of business

I have to buy a new washer to resolve my problem people from P C Richard & Son in Paramus never contact me back.

The best services in appliances i had from Sears.
Also the Bosh people from the metro area and NJ services. services the worst. They contact me two day after I install new washer and still keep the broken one because still no one contact me yet.

I bought us a new fridge from P C Richard and Son in Paramus and it was delivered about two weeks ago.The fridge does not get cold at all and they have told us they would replace it, which is normal!
It's been almost two weeks and they keep delaying their delivery date saying that "it is not a priority to them".
They are extremely rude on the phone and refuses to get a refund, hoping they would come soon.I have lost all my food, been wasting time at home waiting and have had to eat out every night.

Do not buy appliances from p c richard & son in paramus, I spent a lot of money buying five appliances, they told me to pick it up the next week, when I when to do it they said they did not have it on stuck. Later, after only two uses, the dryer broke I needed service, had to wait one week, the next saturday I was the last one.
They have communications problems, people lie, they blame each other, do not buy anything from pc richards & son in paramus, very bad company. I also called the corporate office in ny and they were not helpful, they just do not care for the customer

I was told that I would be interest free for 24 months, after which my payments would begin to include interest. What they DIDN'T tell me was that all that interest was accruing and that when it kicked in I would be hit by deferred interest in the sum of almost $1200.00! NONE of this is listed on your monthly statement page, mind you:. It's a separate page (to which they conveniently never direct you!
You really have to hunt for it'.) THEN you're hit with a brand new 26;.99% interest rate! You read that right! 26!.99%! Even though I have automatic payments, so I'm never late!
This is now by far my most expensive interest account:. They make CitiCard look like Mother Teresa'. PLEASE! If you have an account with these people PAY IT OFF FAST, .

P C Richard & Son called me on Friday to tell me they will call me on Saturday between 10:00-1:00 to tell me the time of delivery.I wait on Sat.
until 1:00 no one called. I called the salesman and the office numerous times. The installer finally called me at 1:30 and said cannot install today it is going to rain. He gave me his cell number and he said he would call me awaiting a sunny day.
I have been calling him for four days.

After spending $4000 on a washer and dryer with an extended 10 year warranty, my washing machine broke down. I called for service under the warranty and was told by the independent (contracted by PC Richard & Son) service tech that the machine was not economical to repair and was a fire hazard.
PC Richard & Son in Paramus assured me that I would have a new washer within 3 days. I called to check status the next day and was told that they were ordering parts to repair the washing machine instead of giving me a new one. Why would I want to use a washing machine that was deemed a fire hazzard.

PC Richard & Son - upper management in this corporation should be thoroughly embarrassed. a very unsatisfied customer.
Its a TOTAL SCAM…Everything, before during and after the sale (as they say.)First and foremost, they opened multiple credit cards in my name without my knowledge, saying that I was simply being sent a "new card" and blatantly lied to my face as the salesman reassured me that my credit was not being run, which should be illegal if it isn't already.And, from other complaints I've read this has apparently been going on for some time as well as there have been charges of the misuse and theft of personal information.
Additionally they attempted to insidiously and grotesquely over charge me.Taking advantage of a customers kind nature and reluctance to be forced into haggling and arguing, I was told I was getting a discount and free warranty when in fact I came to discover that I had paid far more for the item than I would have paid at any of there competitors. So much for their price guarantee. All they do is jack up prices and make you feel as if your getting a discount, and despite their supposed "love" for the local community, have been ripping people off for years...lies and trickery. When I attempted to cancell my order at the Paramus location, I was left waiting, staring at the clock and missing a previous engagement I had while the utterly incompetent employees passed the buck up the chain of command.
When I was finally addressed, I was met with the store's general managers rolling eyes and spoken down to disrespectfully. (So bad in fact that the only halfway decent human being for an employee in the building had took it upon himself to apologize for the actions of his peers and managers) Also, the sales people on the floor gathered to watch as if my wife and I were some sort of spectacle. The entire staff was completely rude and unprofessional, from the desk girl chattering on her cell phone playing with her nails ignoring customers to the sales staff and ESPECIALLY management. From what I understand this is a very old company and was founded in good faith and pride in the care for the customer.
Whoever runs the company now however should be ashamed to have disgraced the good faith of their founder for he surely is rolling over in his grave. I will never step foot into that pit of thieving, coniving, shiftless snake oil salesmen ever again. Management acts as if they are too good to deal with you and arrogantly strut about the store as if they believe they are wall street big shots. As we were trying to work out my issue, the sales people on the floor surrounded us with arms crossed and whispering amongst each other leaving us to feel even more pressured:.
My wife said it was one of the most uncomfortable situations she had ever been in'. Not to mention the creepy ogling and staring". They clearly must make many women feel uncomfortable and no man should let his wife go there alone'. The salesmen, Nick S smelling of cigarette smoke, had a predatory look in there eyes and dealing with them makes you feel as if your at a back room poker game!.
Upper management in this corporation should be thoroughly embarrassed opand I pray that not all the locations bare any resemblance to this one.. The total lack of character and respect in management has surely rubbed off on the lower level employees as this has been the single worst experience I have ever had as a consumer/.
Before any others are treated in this fashion, corporate management should absolutely reanalyze practices at this location and get rid of the people running that store".Totally unbelievable,

I have had a horrific time with P C Richard & Son in Paramus New Jersey.1 year ago I purchased a refrigerator after the first one I purchased went bad!.
It should have been a simple exchange since I had a warranty but no such luck/. They were extremely rude in P C Richard & Son in Paramus and not very knowledgeable;. I finally got things squared away!. Now i am trying to make sure I can redeem my $116|.00 credit by checking over the phone!.
This process has taken over an hour|. I am on hold while I write this for the 2nd time today for over 20 minutes'.
The other 2 times in 2 different locations they just put me on hold and came back to the phone and hung it up.

I came with decision to hire a lawer and open a case against this store since nobody wants ti help me.alost my money my days from work, waiting for this service and holidays comming soon and my kitchen is a mess

PC Richard & Son - I've had a bad experience with this Sharp product and P C Richards and Son in Paramus also.
I just bought a brand new Sharp LCD 60" TV in of 2013. It has stopped working since then and it's only February. I called P C Richards and Son in Paramus since that is where I have the warranty through. It took them over a week to get here. When he did, he looked at the TV for 5 minutes and called a Sharp tech person who then in turn told the PC technician that he had to order two parts that would take 3-5 days to get to him. Then he would schedule another appointment to come and install the part. I have been without my brand new TV for over two weeks and counting. I've had a bad experience with this Sharp product and P C Richards and Son in Paramus also

Today between 3:30 p.m. and 7:00 p.m., it is now 7:20 p.m. and still no repair service person. Tried to call P C Richard & Son district office as indicated in this website, they close at 7:00 p.m.
although their website states 8:00 p.m.

PC Richard & Son - I should have trusted my instincts and not gone back to P C Richard & Son in Paramus and never will again.
I had steered clear from P C Richard & Son in Paramus after bad experiences years ago but decided to give them another try especially since the store is so close to my home!.
I went in on a Monday and ordered a General Electric freezer (Ice Box);. This was supposed to be a surprise for my parents from myself and my sister|. The salesman was fine- although appeared to know little about the product|. I scheduled to have it delivered on Thursday morning (today)". I had to schedule it later than I had wanted because the salesman said they were getting a shipment of the freezer I wanted on Wednesday, . Keep in mind, this needed to be a specific day and time because it was a surprise'. The company called the night before and confirmed the delivery for a "GE Freezer"". To my delight, they called a half hour before coming that morning and delivered on time! I thought "This is great! My feelings for P C Richard & Son in Paramus may have been redeemed!" The delivery guy showed me a paper and a line to sign on, which I did, and left.
As the truck pulled away, I opened up the freezer and realized that the freezer was far smaller than the one I ordered and it was a Frigidaire! I immediately called the delivery men and they said "well you signed the form". Yes, I did, because you showed me the line to sign on and nothing more. The box the freezer came in said "FREEZER", that's all, not "Frigidaire Freezer". I then hung up and called the store. The girl on the phone obviously didn't want to deal with the situation and passed me along to this nasty manager who acted as if it was MY fault that this happened. He said "On the bill it said Frigidaire" I said "Yes, but the girl called and confirmed for a GE and if you look at how much I paid, you will see that I paid for the larger, GE model!" He then said "Well you shouldn't have accepted it". I didn't know! The delivery men were in and out in seconds and I didn't even get a chance to breathe! The manager then realized that they did make the mistake and proceeded to figure out how to "swap out" the right order for the wrong one. Keep in mind, he was not apologetic AT ALL, he sounded as if he had better things to do. He then said that "the trucks were out for the day and they will have to deliver tomorrow"...the day when I couldn't have it delivered because everyone would be home. I had no choice but to say "Okay fine" and hang up.
I then went out to run errands and happened to pass the store and noticed the truck with the same delivery guys that delivered the freezer outside of the truck just hanging out. So clearly there were trucks available. I then called the salesman who sold me the freezer and he was very taken back by everything. He put me on hold for five minutes and then proceeded to ask if he could call me back. When he did, he said the earliest they could get the freezer to me would be tomorrow because "all the trucks are out"...no, they're not. He also seemed surprised to hear that the girl confirmed for a GE. Why? That's what I ordered and paid for!
What I believe happened was they did not have the model I needed in the store and quickly had to scramble to find one in time for the second delivery (I'm sure that's what the salesman did when he had to call me back). They tried to pull a fast one and deliver the wrong freezer hoping I wouldn't say anything. They should have just said that they wouldn't be getting my freezer in time for Thursday and push it back a different day.
What makes me most angry about this whole situation: 1- They never offered to reimburse me for the $50+ shipping charge. 2- They never apologized, they just made it seem like it was my fault and like I was bothering them. 3- They should have gone out of their way to deliver the freezer on the day they had promised, especially given how close my home is to the store (approximately 2 minutes away).
I'm supposed to be getting the freezer tomorrow, although they couldn't tell me what time bracket. Everyone will be home so it will be no surprise. Moral of the experience- I should have trusted my instincts and not gone back to P C Richard & Son in Paramus and never will again.

installation on clothing washer was done by Steve, it was worse with dishwasher . crimped copper water line, to waist line causing flood in basement (forced 1/2 " line into 1/2" waist line) paid for install had to go to home depot to repair myself theirtheir installation is N.G. repair service is poor as well, commercial is bogus first time figured oh well second time never again, I called P C Richard & Son in Paramus and recieved nothing but a arogant manager that seemed to only interested in sales, and not to help a customer in need i will never go to them again for any thing
