PC Richard & Son Poor customer service experienced

Poor customer service experienced with dishwasher. Wide installation window had me waiting all morning on a weekend and then unit arrived damaged. Customer service was indifferent and begrudgingly replied to my time requests to reschedule. Follow up contacts with customer service were also met with indifference. Sales person ghosted me after issue was raised.

Unit was eventually installed without issues but the customer service leaves much to be desired.

Recommendation: Look elsewhere and leave PC Richards your last option

PC Richard & Son Severe floor and wall damage!

First delivery of new refrigerator was incorrect, but installed Quick and easy. Replacement refrigerator came and installers were sloppy and put a hole in our dining room wall and a big gouge in our new floors. Ever since that time we have been trying to communicate with PC riches with no response ever. Once a big fan of PC Richards now, I'm thinking how many bad reviews I can write until I get a response. Including the Better Business Bureau department of state and the attorney general.

PC Richard & Son Worst experience ever

I have never had this much trouble ordering abd delivery. The salesman had no clue what to do. Then they sent the wrong refrigerator that i didnt even order! Then finally received the right one and it was damaged. So It took them over a week to sebd me the doirs on it and again the wrong doors! Also they ruined my beautiful floor and would do nothing about it. The management was also useless They used to be a good company now i wouldnt even give them one star. I will never go back. It was an experience from hell and I have to look at my damaged floor every single day. Horrible place from beginning to end

PC Richard & Son Horrible customer service

I purchased a washer and dryer 2 months ago and the dryer broke. I had a pc richards service man come and he determined it was the motor and would have to replace it. I contacted costumer service and was told that "Things are not built to last". I said I understand that but a new dryer should last longer than 2 months. The man was rude and condensending to say the least. Then called sales man where I purchased it. He said there was nothing he could do and that I had to contact the service center. Called the service center and someone finally picked up after 40 minutes. The woman on the phone said there was nothing she could do other than order a motor for a dryer that is 2 months old. Absolutely horrible experience and I would not recommend anyone shopping at PC Richards! They do not stand by their products. They pass you along to the next person who does nothing and are just completely rude to the customers!

Recommendation: Do Not Shop Here!!!!

PC Richard & Son Poor Customer Service and Warranty Experience with PC Richard & Son

So, I recently purchased a bed from PC Richard & Son and it came with a ten-year warranty. Unfortunately, my bed had a dent in it, so I contacted the repair number and spoke with Diamond. However, she wasn't much help and suggested that I get a frame instead of fixing the issue with the net from the frame that was damaged. I sent her some pictures, but she didn't seem to care much about my problem.

I then spoke with Dexter, who also didn't look into the matter properly. I asked to speak with a supervisor and was transferred to Gary from the 125th St. location. While he was more helpful than the others, the work still hasn't been done properly, and I'm not satisfied with the service I received.

I'm giving a bad review until the work is properly done, and I don't think that's fair. I will never buy anything else from PC Richards again. It's frustrating that Diamond said they would take the frame and replace it out of courtesy, but she never put the numbers in the system. She's a supervisor, and she's not doing her job properly.

To make matters worse, the workers who came to fix my bed didn't speak English very well, and they left salt on each side of the bed. My bed is still sliding, and I'm not happy with the service I received.

Overall, I'm disappointed with PC Richard & Son's customer service and the way they handled my issue. I hope they can get this right and fast, or else they'll continue to receive bad reviews from me and others.

PC Richard & Son Disappointing Experience with PC Richard & Son: Pushy Sales, Extra Fees, Slow Shipping, and Blaming Customers

I gotta say, I'm pretty disappointed with my experience with PC Richard & Son. I mean, I don't even know if I can give them one star, but I guess I'll be generous and do it anyways. Let me tell you about what happened.

So, my wife ordered a camera from them last week. It took them a couple days to even call and confirm the order, and when they did, they were trying to push all these extra accessories on her. Like, come on, we just want the camera, you know? And then they hit her with this extra $20 fee for "handling and insurance" that wasn't even mentioned on the website. Like, what's up with that?

But okay, fine, we got over that and waited for the camera to arrive. And waited. And waited. It took them a whole week just to ship it out! I mean, seriously, how long does it take to put a camera in a box and send it off? Strike three, PC Richard & Son.

When the camera finally did arrive, my wife was excited to try it out. But as soon as she extended the zoom, it wouldn't retract unless she took out the batteries. So we packed it back up and sent it back the next day.

And then, get this, two days after they received the camera back, they called us to say that there was a scratch on the body near the lens. They were trying to say that we must have dropped it or something, but we didn't! We only used it on the couch, and there was no scratch when we mailed it back. They said they were going to send it to the manufacturer, but they thought we had damaged it and that we'd probably just get the broken camera back.

Honestly, I'm just really disappointed with PC Richard & Son. They were pushy, they added extra fees without telling us, they took forever to ship the camera, and now they're trying to blame us for something we didn't even do. I don't think I'll be shopping with them again.

PC Richard & Son PC Richard & Son Fridge Nightmare: Four-Month Wait, Wrong Model, and Terrible Customer Service

So, we finally got our fridge from PC Richard & Son after waiting for FOUR MONTHS. And guess what? It's not even the one we originally ordered. Can you believe it?

Let me tell you, it was a nightmare trying to get any information about the status of our order. I had to call them OVER AND OVER again, and every time I got a different delivery date and a different excuse for the delay. They kept blaming the manufacturer, but I don't know if I believe that. It seems like they just didn't have their act together.

Anyway, after three months of this, they finally offered us a fridge that was in stock and "pretty similar" to the one we wanted. But get this - they tried to charge us an extra $200 just because it was stainless steel! Can you believe that? Of course, we refused to pay it.

And don't even get me started on trying to talk to these people. It's like they don't want to be bothered. I had a problem with the delivery date the night before, and there was no way to reschedule or cancel online. I had to call them AGAIN and wait on hold forever.

Finally, the guy who came to install the fridge couldn't switch the hinge on the door. I don't blame him, but why wouldn't they give him the tools to do that? It would have taken an extra 10 minutes, tops. And he wouldn't hook up the ice maker for us, either. He said we'd have to call someone else to come out and do it. Seriously? Why would we want to deal with these people any more than we have to?

To top it all off, he told us we could just learn how to do these things ourselves by watching YouTube videos. What a joke. I can't believe this company has been in business for so long.

PC Richard & Son Refreshing Experience at PC Richard & Son in Plainview Thanks to Knowledgeable Salesperson

Me and my partner have been in the restaurant and salon business for a long time, so we know a thing or two about customer service. We were pretty disappointed with the Carle Place location of PC Richard & Son, so we decided to check out Best Buy and Home Depot. Best Buy was doing pretty well in terms of service and selection, until we got home and waited for the salesperson to get back to us with the numbers and availability for the brand we were interested in. Unfortunately, he never got back to us, and we couldn't get in touch with him either.

On our way back to our second home, we noticed that there was a PC Richard & Son store right on the service road, so we decided to give it another shot. That's where we met Ali, who turned out to be a great asset to the store. He was patient, knowledgeable, and a real gentleman. As soon as we decide which line we're going to go with, we'll be back to the Plainview store to see Ali.

We were initially thinking of going with Viking, but then we settled on Samsung, until we came across Bertazzoni. We're doing our homework all over again, but regardless of the President's Day sales, we had such a great education on the different appliances at PC Richard & Son that we're going to change our cabinets back to the higher line.

Thank you, Ali, for your time and your knowledge of the appliances. It was such a refreshing experience at PC Richard & Son in Plainview. Sorry, Carle Place, but your store was not organized, and we couldn't even find a knowledgeable salesperson. You almost lost us to a competitor.

Ali, we'll see you soon. Your tag also had 6568. Management, you have a winner. We always hear complaints, but you were saved by this experience. We'll be back soon!

PC Richard & Son Excellent Service and Conscious-Driven Values: My Experience with PC Richard & Son

I've been a customer of PC Richard & Son for over fifteen years now, and I have to say, they are a conscious-driven retailer. Whether I'm at their store in Union or Watchung, NJ, they always provide excellent service. I actually discovered them because of a warranty from the previous homeowners on a microwave oven that was two months past its five-year date. We brought it to them, and they replaced and installed it with no attempt to up-sell. It only cost us under $30.00 for everything, and they had to mount it into the slot above the oven.

Since then, I've been back at least five times, most recently for a replacement washer and a new water line for the fridge. They never fail to provide excellent service. If you have a problem with them, then you're probably not a please-able client and should go to American Freight, where you'll be a valid victim. I made the mistake of not driving five miles about four years ago and bought a fridge from American Freight. It failed almost on the two-year anniversary, and they only sent a repairman once and ignored the rest of my calls. It was two loads of groceries that went to waste in the middle of COVID, and not a single person could be reached after the first service call. They only responded to a bad review. It served me right.

When I went to PC Richard & Son in Watchung, Chris was our salesman, and he took care of us. The price was as usual, with no attempts to up-sell. Delivery is always by their own installers who are worthy of every bit of praise as the sales force. I should have submitted these reviews years ago. So if anyone of importance is reading this from the company, please go and compliment Chris (and Michael was there when I went back to buy) and the installation teams. They are a real conveyance of your values, and I've had a great experience with every purchase over the years. And please don't sell out to a jerk-off company for another 30 years.

PC Richard & Son Poor Customer Service and Delayed Refund from PC Richard & Son for Washer/Dryer Purchase

I recently bought a washer/dryer for my mom from PC Richard & Son (pcrichards.com). Unfortunately, when the items arrived, we realized that my mother's apartment could not accommodate the voltage of the dryer - completely my fault. However, it was really hard to get in touch with customer service. I was on hold multiple times for 45+ minutes trying to schedule a return pick-up date and each time they would disconnect the call.

Finally, after at least 5 previous attempts, I was able to speak to someone who scheduled a pick-up for the item. I was informed that a restocking fee would be subtracted from my refund, which is fair since the initial error was mine.

They picked up the dryer on July 8th and I have yet to be refunded for the item. I've since contacted them numerous times. Finally, I was told that they issued the refund on July 30th and that they couldn't do anything more to help me. I initially paid through PayPal and I've used PayPal for many years. They document EVERYTHING and I've never had an issue with payments or refunds, so I find it hard to believe that the issue occurred on their end.

I've filed a dispute through PayPal and they are taking the issue up with PC Richard. I've always had great experiences with PayPal, so I'm hopeful that they will get to the bottom of this issue and get me my money back, but I'm really angry that it's already been over a month. They got their product back and I should've gotten my money back a long time ago. This is the first and last experience that I will have with this company. I want to be forgiving since I know that Covid has caused delays for so many companies, but I can't forgive the fact that my interactions with customer service have largely been negative and entirely unhelpful, so on principle, I will never spend another cent in their stores.

PC Richard & Son Disappointed with P. C. Richards' Pricing and Value for Replacement Microwave

We have been loyal customers of P. C. Richards for many years now, relying on their appliances to get us through our daily lives. We have always been impressed with the value, service, and reliability that they have provided us with. We have always believed that their prices were the best possible, but now we have our doubts.

Recently, we had to replace our 1.9 CuFt GE (1100 watts) over the range microwave with all the bells and whistles. We mostly needed the large size as well as the high wattage for fast heating. We had purchased this unit back in 2014, and now, seven years later, we've had to replace it with its replacement model because the original microwave intermittently fails to heat. We thought it was reasonable to just replace it, rather than paying $300 or $400 to troubleshoot and repair the older unit.

However, we were shocked to find out that we had to pay a bottom line difference of $177.27 for the replacement microwave. We did expect price creep nowadays, but we never expected to pay such a high price for a replacement unit that offers fewer features and benefits. The new unit has 100 fewer watts of heating, no accommodation for a second rack, a single surface light bulb, a considerably louder operation, and a button layout that miserably fails to improve on the prior design while offering exactly the same control features. The door construction and materials must be inferior to its predecessor since when you open and close it, it sounds like a used car that you'd walk away from.

In the past, we liked that P. C. Richards had their own trucks and delivery people. Not that our guys today weren't terrific, it's just that P. C. now charges $30 to remove the old unit which wasn't the case where they had their own employees running delivery and installation. Now, it's farmed out.

We were disappointed in the net value that we've been used to. The price creep has compromised the benefits of shopping there. However, in all fairness, we didn't see much difference in pricing structure initially when shopping around before the purchase.

Overall, we still appreciate P. C. Richards for their service and reliability, but we hope that they can improve their pricing and delivery structure to better serve their loyal customers.

PC Richard & Son Poor Customer Service and Disrespectful Staff at P.C. Richards

I've been shopping at P.C. Richards for years and never had a problem until November 2020. I bought my wife a Mac Pro 16" for Hanukkah and Christmas, but it started getting very hot and slightly burnt her leg. I went to return it, but was told to go to Apple directly. I was frustrated because I bought it from P.C. Richards and it was only a few weeks old. They said they could try to repair it, so I left it with them. A few days later, Larry, the service rep, called and texted me to let me know what he did and that he was giving me store credit. Larry was the only person who treated me with respect and kept me informed.

When I went to use the store credit, Allen from the Bayside store was very nasty to me. He made me feel stupid and like it was all my fault. I spent $2300 on the Mac, $400 on Apple Care, and $150 on Microsoft Word. My wife didn't want another Mac, so I was going to get her an HP with some accessories. Allen told me that if I didn't get the same items, I would lose whatever store credit was left. He forced me to get another Mac Pro 16" that I didn't want and I lost $150 for a new Word because I didn't have the code anymore. Allen was rude, nasty, uncooperative, and made me feel really bad.

About a month later, the district manager called to defend Allen because he is one of his staff and tried to buy me off with a small coupon. I wanted to return the items, but instead I got stuck with them and eventually gave them away to someone who would use them. In the end, this cost me $3000 plus the price of a new HP.

This incident still bothers me, especially since I need some items that P.C. Richards carries, but I won't walk into their store again to be treated like I was by that disrespectful Allen in the Bayside office. All I wanted was respect. Now I'm out 3 grand, the district manager doesn't think anything is wrong, and I can't shop in their store.

PC Richard & Son Buyer Beware: Hidden Fees and Poor Customer Service at PC Richard & Son

I was on the hunt for a Nikon d7000 and stumbled upon it on Amazon for $1199.95. Excitedly, I placed my order, but soon after, I found the same camera body on PC Richard & Son's website for $1159.95 with no shipping or tax fees. I quickly canceled my Amazon order and placed one with PC Richard & Son. However, I soon discovered a hidden "handling fee" of $60.00 that was not listed on my online receipt or the receipt they emailed me. I only found out about it when I called their customer service to ensure I would receive my camera before my vacation.

Despite my frustration with the hidden fee, I decided to keep my order with PC Richard & Son since the Amazon price had gone back up to $1499.95. A few days later, I called again to inquire about the shipping status since it had been listed as "ready to ship" for a few days. The same man who answered my previous call told me it would be shipped the next day. However, later that same day, I noticed that the Amazon price had dropped back down to $1199.95. I decided to cancel my order with PC Richard & Son and pay the same amount with Amazon, including the handling fee.

I checked their cancellation policy, which stated that I could cancel my order without any extra fees as long as it had not been shipped. I double-checked my order status, which still showed as not shipped. When I called PC Richard & Son to cancel my order, the same man answered and told me that it had already been shipped. I explained that I had called earlier that day and was told it would be shipped the next day, and my order status still showed as not shipped. He then told me that my order was already on the truck and that I would have to wait until I received it to pay the restocking fee and return shipping.

I insisted that my order had not been shipped and that I wanted it canceled. I also expressed my dissatisfaction with the hidden handling fee. The man became angry but said he would try to cancel my order and hung up the phone. I called back to follow up, and the same man answered but pretended to be someone else. I didn't want to argue with him again, so I played along and asked him to cancel my order. He then told me that his "co-worker" had already done so and that my credit card would be credited within 7 to 10 days. He even offered me an additional $100 off their price, but at this point, I had lost trust in their business practices and declined.

Now, I am waiting to see if they credit the full amount back to my credit card. While I appreciate the lower price, the hidden handling fee and the poor customer service experience have left a sour taste in my mouth. I would caution others to be wary of any hidden fees and to double-check their order status before assuming it has been shipped.

PC Richard & Son PC Richards' Poor Customer Service and Installation Result in Water Damage and Frustration

We recently purchased a refrigerator from PC Richards and were supposed to have a copper line installed for the water dispenser upon delivery. However, the installment team claimed that it was too difficult and instead installed it using the existing plastic line. Unfortunately, the plastic line was cut during installation and water leaked into our basement, damaging multiple laptops. We tried to get a service technician out, but it took a while for them to show up. When they finally did, they told us that they couldn't install a copper line due to our finished basement, which was confusing as the city code requires a copper line and there are certainly finished basements in Philadelphia.

To make matters worse, the damage claims department failed to take any accountability for the installation and no one useful was able to reach out to us. The person who was supposed to be "assisting" us, Tony Matja, couldn't even pick up the phone to explain the details of his email. When we asked for a supervisor, we were told that the next person up was the CEO, which seemed like an extreme escalation. It was frustrating that there were no other communication channels in place for escalating these situations.

Furthermore, it was unclear how a brand new refrigerator ended up hooked up and wheeled into our home without an installation team physically bringing it in, especially after we paid for installation. The paperwork from PC Richards did not notate someone physically installing the fridge, but the office in Conshohocken claimed that it was notated on their end. It was disappointing that PC Richards couldn't even pick up the phone to talk with an unhappy customer and instead continued to send unhelpful email replies.

Overall, we will never do business with PC Richards again after their failure to provide a basic level of customer service. It's frustrating that there are no returns on appliances and nothing was even attempted to rectify the fact that there are ceiling tiles destroyed and two work laptops with water damage. It's a shame that a company like PC Richards can't prioritize customer satisfaction and take responsibility for their mistakes.

PC Richard & Son Washer/Dryer

I purchased a washer dryer from PC Richard and have had headaches ever since. The installers scratched the new appliances. The dryer venting hose was not installed correctly and caused lint to go everywhere. But the worst was the water hoses that were installed were faulty, causing significant water damage to my new home. I now have to deal with mitigating all of that damage. I opened a ticket to file a damage claim, and keep getting the run around. I was pushed to the installer, then the manufacturer, but PC Richard refuses to help further. I find this unacceptable. Their own service technician suggested I file a damage claim because this is terrible customer service. I was once a fan of this business, but it seems to have lost all its integrity.

The way they’ve handled this is disgraceful. Scratched appliances, a botched dryer vent installation, and faulty water hoses? It’s beyond incompetence.

You’ve done everything right by filing a damage claim, and what do they do? Give you the runaround. Pushing you from the installer to the manufacturer, refusing to take responsibility. It’s pathetic. Even their own service technician agrees with you – this is terrible customer service.

You need to escalate this. Make your voice heard. Share your experience on social media, tag PC Richard & Son, and let everyone know how they’ve treated you. Demand accountability and resolution. They need to fix the damage caused by their negligence and poor installation.

Don’t let them get away with this. You deserve better, and they need to know that their customers won’t stand for this kind of treatment. Keep pushing until they make it right. Stay strong and don’t back down. Make sure they know you won’t be ignored.

I'm glad someone agrees! I have escalated this in a ticket and was told their decision was "full and final." Tony Matja was on the ticket; he has been mentioned on this board before. He said there was no further escalation path, which I find hard to believe. Their social channels give canned responses. I'm at a loss here. I'm in disbelief and quite frankly, deeply disappointed. I'm not sure what else to do!

PC Richard & Son Sold defective tv & contract - beware

I bought 3 appliances on 5/15/24 and had an LG TV installed by PC Richard on 5/17/24 (TV=2.5K, 5 year service contract = $500, Install = $220). It stopped working on 5/29/24 (yes, less than 2 weeks later!). Since PC Richard Service is nonexistent, I called tech support at LG and opened a ticket with them. They determined the TV was defective and needed to be replaced. Since that time not a single person will help me at PC Richard (manager - Brian) or his boss (another Brian) or customer support (a joke). I filed a complaint with the BBB, etc., and hope people read this and stay far away from this company. They take your money and ignore you - a real scam. STAY AWAY!

PC Richard & Son Tech service scheduling

I have been trying to service my 2019 fridge for the second time. This has taken 2 weeks. First my request was cancelled not by me. Then they were able to get it done but never cancelled the other call. Received an email on a Friday that they would be here 3/14 and on Sunday night told they would be there 3/10. Part was replaced, did not hear compressor or fan turn on. Told it will 2 hours you’ll see it getting colder. It did not. Same tech and service said they would be here tomorrow and sent another tech who had no idea of the problem. 2 weeks no fridge and claim tomorrow. Have tried to escalate and told something different by each person I speak to. Not to mention I’m losing pay and the ability to feed my family since it’s expensive to have every single meal out. I should also note that all these appliances were purchased at the same time and all have been serviced but one. I will never recommend PC Richards to anyone, this is the worse costumer service I’ve seen.

Claimed loss: Food, money, pay, exacerbated pre-existing heart condition and no longer able to take off work. My medication that needs to be refrigerated.

Desired outcome: Someone to fix it tonight 3/12/24.

PC Richard & Son TV

TV was delivered this week. Left at door and later was told delivery person should have opened the box and plugged the TV in to make sure it works… they did NOT do that. Property manager plugged the TV in the next day and the screen was obviously broken and unusable. Technician sent and arrived the next day to look at it and declared it unusable. Called today and PC Richard will NOT replace the TV. Bad service and bad policy. After holding on the phone for nearly an hour (cumulatively) over 3 calls to PC Richard says they will not replace the TV that they delivered broken.

Claimed loss: Approximately $500.

Desired outcome: Replace the TV that they delivered broken.

PC Richard & Son TV

I purchased a 75” TV, mount and warranty from P.C. Richard’s. The TV fell off the wall. When it fell the screen cracked. I called the warranty department, they sent someone out. The repair person said the mount could not support the weight of the TV. He said the mount would be covered, but the screen would not be. I’ve spoken to every manager possible for months now, and P.C. Richard’s is refusing to fix the screen. It fell off the wall due to the mount that the sells' person assured was for my TV was too weak to hold the TV. I need help with this matter.

PC Richard & Son Dryer repair service

I have a dryer which is 8 months old and stopped working. The first 2 service appointment nobody showed up and canceled after the service window. Next appointment the dryer was evaluated to order a part. 4th service appointment the person said they didn’t have the correct part and need to order another. Today the 5th appointment nobody has showed up.
