I have worked at Dollar Tree for approx. 10 yrs. Never had any issues until my store's most recent manager started. Store #1407, Clay, NY.
She gets away with so many unprofessional and/or inappropriate things; I don't know where to begin.
1.) Certain employees smoke pot each morning in company parking lot before entering store to work; manager & asst. managers well aware. Customers have commented a lot on the way he smells like pot.
2.) Two weeks ago, same employee was rolling a joint in front of myself, other employees and Asst. Manager. Asst. manager did/said absolutely nothing
3.) Same week, same male Asst. Manager & male employee were talking right beside me as I was stocking freight (I am a middle-aged female) and were having a very inappropriate sexual conversation about "getting laid"
4.) Store manager hired her best friend, who is the sister of our Asst. Manager. They get preferential treatment over all the others
5.) For ex: for the past 7 weeks manager has only been giving me 4 hrs. per week (I normally get about 12) I inquired about it and she said she had to use my hrs. for training. Her training lasted 1 or 2 days only. Meanwhile, her best friend and some others in her "circle" are getting 25 hrs., give or take a few every week
6.) Manager tells us we're not allowed to text her, even for business. However, her best friend and others text her, and vice-versa, constantly
7.) Each morning when Manager and her friend come to work (she always puts them on same shift) they spend at least 40 minutes gossiping and goofing around in the office while all others are working
8.) Manager, Asst. Manager & his sister go out to smoke constantly, on the clock... never punch out
9.) Manager has treated me, and sometimes others, like we do not exist. She doesn't speak to me at all during my shift many times. 1 time she was aware that I was waiting outside of the office to speak to her about sonething but when she came out, she ignored me and walked away to do something else. Many customers observed and said something to me.
I have contacted my District Manager (Lisa) about wanting to be transferred to another store due to all of these rules being broken. I told her I do not want to be in such a toxic work environment nor wantcto be affiliated with this particular store. That was over 2 weeks ago and I still haven't heard from her. (she told me she would call me back at the end of the 1st week) I also called the DM (Joe) of the 2 stores that are the newest and are also close to my home, as now I drive 1 hour total to & from where I work. I worked with Joe in my 3rd & 4th yrs. with this company. I haven't heard from him either.
I think it is unprofessional and unacceptable the way I'm being ignored or "put on hold". I told my DM how uncomfortable I've been for months working in my store's environment. I am planning on calling my Regional Manager (Jean Versace) next, to tell her that sadly, I guess my only choice is to leave the company because nothing or nobody is helping me with this. I am 1 of their hardest working employees, have never called in sick all these yrs., and am well liked by customers and most employees.
Dollar Tree - charged twice on credit card
On November 22, 2019, I was shopping at the dollar tree in Liverpool, NY and bought Christmas decorations, but then a couple days later I saw on my credit card statement that I was charged twice on that day the exact amount. How do I get my money back and prove that I was charged 33.40$ twice on November 22, 2019. I noticed on another persons complaint the same thing happened to him and he was refunded. Please help me!

Favoritism is rampant here, even though it is against the companies code of ethics. My manager at the DC I used to work at would steal store orders from his team so he could either have an easy day, or be paid more ARP bonus. This was before he became manager. He was allowed to do this because our manager at the time was his roommate's brother and they all went to high school together.
