Dollar Tree - bad experience in this store

It is sad that I left a message 4 days ago and no one responded. Even worse was my experience at this store and nasty employee named Melinda and a horribly inexperienced store mgr. Spencer.

I am handicapped and a cancer patient, but I do not use that as an excuse to use my independence. This store is very busy and I shop there regularly. You use to have some good employees, but your present management stinks. I was waiting on line, trying to endure standing on your concrete floors in pain. I was next when the customer presented an item they could not find in the system and said they would refuse to sell it to the customer. To me this was a bit sad, but it seems the transaction froze the register. Melinda, who is as nasty as can be, came over. Unable to resolve the issue, decided to open another lane and announced the next customer to go there. That was me. I have trouble walking and because there were people behind me, I couldn't get out. Melinda in her lack of wisdom starting helping whoever got there. I said that I was next and she ignored me. I said it again and she responded to get over there. That meant I would have to put all my items back in the carrier. I am slow so people just grabbed my things and passed them to her. By the time I got there, she had rung it all up. I said I wished she had allowed me to get there as I had items for two other people and I had some questions. She got angry at me and lectured me, the customer. She didn;t appear qualified to do so. Because I was so stunned, the next customer started yelling me and screamed to stop using my handicap as an excuse. Spencer, alleged mgr was at the counter I just left. He then became nasty. Then I lost it. I never use profanity but I let it out. I was so shocked I no longer cared. I could not believe that a simple purchase had become a federal case. Melinda was relentless and horrible. She started throwing my things over the place and told me to pay. But, because of the way it happened, I wasn't sure all of it was mine. She didn't care, Spencer then threw in his stupidity by saying I was holding up the line. In my whole long lifetime, i had never had this kind of shopping experience. I was beside myself by now and then that horrible man said I couldn't buy anything and told me to leave. Imagine a handicapped person, treated like crap, and then told he couldn't buy what he had driven 4 miles to get. I called your company and now write this email hoping someone out there cares. In my life I had seven stores in NY and I know retail very well. Had any of my employees treated a customer like I was, they would be gone. I understand I will not find Harvard grads working at Dollar Tree, but you either have class or you don't. You either have common sense or you don't. You can choose to solve the problem or you can become the problem. I literally sat outside and cried. I could no believe this happened to me. I have enough pain in my life and I just didn't need this. Please address this issue. L. Wilkes
