To whom it may concern,
I have been purchasing huge amounts of material and goods from Athens, Ohio Lowes for many years. In the past 2 years I have noticed many items on the shelves for sell but I am unable to purchase them on line. A little history of my purchasing - I usually put in an order and stop by lowes to pick this order up a few hours later. So, often (and more often than not any more) it will say it is unavailable in Athens, but available in all of the surrounding stores. For example I ordered underpinning for one of my rentals - Athens Lowes said they didn't have it in stock but would have it shipped to the store in a few days. I went back to where the underpinning is stocked and there was more than enough available for the job I was doing. I asked the Pro Desk if it was spoken for and they said it had been there for a long time. I asked the manager could he transfer it to in stock and he said no. So I had to place my order and wait until it was brought to Lowes from Wood County Lowes. This makes no sense to me. This has happened for several items. I often get to check out only to hear its not in stock so you will have to wait a few days. It was literally in my hands? Just yesterday I tried to purchase item number: 1572820, customer service was unable to sell it to me as an online item because it didn't say it was in stock. There were 93 of these in stock? So I could only get the wiper blade I had with the order and have to wait until Wood County sends one up. This is stupid and very costly for Lowes not to mention my frustration. You can't tell me the manager doesn't have an override key or a way to fix his inventory. This is happening more and more and it's not logical. Most of the customer service staff are friendly and I can tell their hands are tied on somehting that makes no sense.
Imagine going to McDonalds, ordering a big Mack and a Quarter Pounder. You get to the window and the guy in front of you was a cash customer, so he got his order, but your order was done with the new drive up app, so even though they have the big mack in stock, you have to wait 2 days to have one sent up from another store? Does this make any sense?
I doubt whomever reads this will understand it. And quite frankly I don't understand it. I'm a 67 year old man with decades of management experience so I don't understand why an item in a store can't be placed in inventory to be purchased. Makes no sense.

Desired outcome: Fix the issue. I shouldn't have to wait on another store to send an item I want when it's in stock.
