My husband was prescribed a cpap machine in november 2015. Our insurance at the time was aetna. A rep from apria called my husband on november 5th 2015 advising the co-pay, advised my ins company already paid for the machine, and that a cc was required to be "on file". He was told our company paid for the machine in full. Apria failed to disclose that this was a rental machine and that for 13 months the cc would be charged a rental cost. We did not pick up the machine. I tried to contact the company, when my husband on the way home from work fell asleep at the wheel, crossed two lanes of traffic almost into on coming traffic almost killing us and injuring the passengers of 5 other cars. He needed the machine. 1/19/2016 when I tried to call apria I got the call center. I was put on hold, talked to a rep that was nasty, he put me on hold to talk to a supervisor and then disconnected me. 1/20/2016 I called the doctors who reached the branch and got a call from a apria rep there who advise they would have the branch manager lauren powell call me back. She never did. 1/21/2016 I tried again to reach out to the company after several attempts to reach the local youngstown branch a call center rep was able to reach the branch. The branch rep michael schane wouldn't give me the regional manager's name. Only again repeated that he would have lauren call me back. Any company that hides any information should be suspect. I also contacted my insurance company. They advised that apria did not file a claim, they did not pay for a cpap machine, nor do they have a record of apria contacting them at all. Apria advised they could never reach my husband on specific dates. His phone call log has no record of those dates. Numerous online complaints advise the company charges credit cards randomly, refuses to return monies and in general lie to insurance companies and patients. Someone has to do something about this company's behaviors. I have filed a complaint with my state insurance commissioners office in addition to several other agencies. Any assistance your company can provide would be helpful.

I agree. I have had nothing but billing problems with this company. They made unauthorized charges to my credit card that didn't at all match what was on the bill. I disputed the charges with my bank as unauthorized. The bank reversed the charges. Every time someone disputes the charges, it costs the bank money to investigate. If a company gets too many, they either get a higher fee from the credit card companies or if it is too bad they won't be allowed to use the credit card companies at all. I suggest more people dispute the charges with this company and get their attention.
Apria hires overseas - all your personal details are in the Philippines - none of the actual offices take calls anymore. So interestingly they are complaining about the cost of healthcare yet they are paying pennies on the dollar and giving ALL your personal information to a foreign country. I am deeply saddened by this . If you are doing business in America you need to have AMericans working INSIDE the USA so our information is truly protected.
You are not alone. Apria Healthcare hires the most unprofessional customer service representative. It is nearly impossible to get the same answer about over charges on credits. These people made me pay for rental even though my insurance company KP have a national contract with Apria Healthcare I should have never charged for anything. I got my money back (full payment) but it took nearly 3 months. NEVER AGAIN HAVE ANYTHING TO DO WITH APRIA HEALTHCARE!
