On Nov. 8, 2019, I shopped at your store and bought a number of items. I generally spend over $150 per month at that store. One of the items I bought that day was an led light. It was nonfunctional. I took it back on Nov. 9th, and purchased other items, getting a replacement for the defective led light. The cashier asked for my receipt for the defective one from Nov. 8th. I gave it to her. She circled the light on the receipt and did not give me the receipt back. I use my receipts to reconcile my Discover Card bill and needed it. She said it was corporate store policy that I could copy it at my expense, but could not have it back.
I should never incur an expense for your store's defective merchandise, and the receipt did not belong to you. It belonged to me. I had no way of copying the receipt. I asked to speak to the manager, and she repeated the corporate policy of allowing me to copy my receipt at my expense, but, they would not give me back my receipt.
This was your store stealing a receipt which did not belong to them, and demanding a cost to me for your defective merchandise. I will be filing complaints with every entity regulating this. Your policy cannot take what is not yours or require customers bear a cost for your defective merchandise. This is bullying and abusing customers.
