My name is Lacey. In the last month or so, my job at dollar general #22261, has been very up and down and wild. In the first week of june, our store shut down for 3 days because our store manager, both of the assistant managers, and a couple key holders walked out because the district manager was ignoring the issues being brought to her attention. Fast forward to this weekend. (07-01/07-02)
My new store manager had been working 27 days straight. I offered to work sunday for her as I am/was the assistant manager. I too had been working for quite a few days straight and was rightfully extremely tired. Due to the fact that I was the only keyholder, and the only opener (also against policy) I rang up a phone for myself, making sure to keep the receipt and show it to the camera. I had bought the wrong the phone, and then returned it, again being the only one able to do returns. While having the new associate watch and sign my return receipt so I had proof that it was rang up right. The other assistant manager, who has had an issue with me because I don't allow her to work with her husband when they are on the same shift, then reported me for "stealing" a phone despite the fact that it was in the office when I returned it. (yes, working with spouses is against policy, but we are understaffed so its only allowed if she's not being his supervisor. Hence why she doesn't like me.) despite the fact that I had proof of everything and that my manager spoke up for me, I was terminated. I am currently trying to appeal the termination because I have never stolen anything in my life and I know she only accused me because I told the store manager about how she clocks in for her husband.
Desired outcome: I would like my termination to be reversed. My manager is working with me so I can appeal it. Id also like the other employee in question to be written up for her break in protocol.
