On Sunday, August 13 at the North Huntingdon Giant Eagle, I entered the store and noticed the smell of human excrement... like a diaper being changed. As I left the area where carts where carts are stored, and entered the main store near floral and entering produce, I plainly saw the source of the smell. Gloppy piles of this excrement in a variety of places. I went IMMEDIATELY to customer service and reported this hazard. I then went and picked up my prescription and shopped in other areas of the store. A full 30 minutes later I was checking out, and noticed that the mess had not yet been all cleaned up. Several young employees, apparentely stuck with this task, were standing around like deer in headlights, doing their best to used paper towel... come ON! Where are your big mops and buckets and some major disinfectant? I do not blame the person responsible - we know accidents happen. But for this to not be addressed immediately is inexcusable, in my opinion. I don't imagine it is a common occurrance, but please have a system in place! As I exited the store, unknowing customers had obviously already stepped in some of the mess and smeared it around. It was already drying! Poor handling of this situation.
Desired outcome: Train your employees and let your managers know how to handle this or similar situation. Let them know this is not acceptable for this kind of mess.
Giant Eagle - Harassment and discrimination against my medical condition
I went to the North Huntingdon PA 15642 store Saturday, April 3rd around 11 am. Managers were called out because my boyfriend I were not complying with wearing a mask. We both have medical conditions and an exemption card from a doctor. I was harassed and discriminated against because of my medical condition by Joseph and Ryan (who refused to give last names). They were very discriminate and ignorant and told us we have the option of curbside. Curb side pick up is not equal treatment. If your store is so worried about not spreading COVID-19, having someone touch all of my items is not clean. I do not wish to have some random person touch my produce and curbside is a week out I can not wait that long so I was not fairly given an equal opportunity. I filed a claim through the ADA Justice Department for discrimination. Your policies are not fair, you are violating the constitution by discriminating against those with medical conditions.
