Disappointing Experience at Giant Eagle
As a long-time customer of Giant Eagle, I was truly disappointed by my recent visit. The cashier's inability to understand basic items, such as a pack of batteries, led to a frustrating checkout experience. Moreover, the lack of customer service and unavailability of the service desk highlighted the store's disorganization. Despite attempts to seek assistance from the manager, the focus on breaks over customer needs was evident. This experience has deterred me from returning to Giant Eagle in the future.
Poor customer service
I shop at the Finleyville Giant Eagle. I have always loved my experiences there until it went under different management. The cashiers are rude, do not make eye contact, or speak. I was in a particular line with the young man who checked out my groceries, bagged everything, and did not bother assisting putting anything in my cart. He left that to me! The whole bottom part had my bags and he started on the next order. Yes, there were customers but not one person behind the customer he started on. I have also noticed the bagging is horrible. I had my lunchmeat in with medication and toothpaste. My rotisserie chicken was also in with my raw chicken. I have been a long-time customer but have noticed poor management of the entire store in the last 6-8 months.

I have only Positive things to share. First, all the items I needed was in the Bedford Giant Eagle Store. The store was clean and all was good. At the checkout, the cashier was very friendly as she did her job WELL.
The cahier's name is CASHAI. She do a wonderful job on behalf of Giant Eagle and herself.

Ground meat
I look for quality ground meat when shopping but it lately has been hit or miss with quality. I’ve bought a package of ground meat when I got home to divide it for the freezer to my surprise it was all but black on the inside. I understand that they have to regains meat to get it sold but this is alittle extreme almost to the point of dangerous. This isn’t the case for all of there stores I hope but mine in New Castle Pa on Wilmington rd. Don’t miss understand I love my store but this kind of stuff has to stop!
Recommendation: Quality meat means not running old with the new just to cover you loss do something better..
Grinding old meat with new meat is just wrong an dangerous please stop charging for good quality meat when the truth is very scary.

I had a scheduled pick up at 10:00 AM - 10:30 Am Pickup. We received a text message that our order was ready for pick up at 9:45 AM. Drove to the store and arrived at 10:00 AM sent text that we have arrived. I waited until 11:06 before I got my order. Meanwhile a girl working the curbside serviced 4 cars that arrived after I was there and never acknowledged my presence. When the gentleman servicing me came out with my order was questioned, he left my carts and walked away. I told him to go get his manager. I want you to look up my name and see how much money I have spent at that Giant Eagle over the years going back as far as 1997. Because this is how you treat a loyal customer, I will no longer choose to spend my money at Giant Eagle. It's obvious to me after talking with the manager that customer service is not of any importance at this Giant Eagle.

I have been a customer of Giant Eagle for many years and shop there two or three times a week. The staff are always helpful, friendly, and courteous.
I am very disappointed, however, since Giant Eagle started the new program on the 25th of January. I had no idea that the 30% I had already earned from previous purchases would no longer be available. On the previous shopping I did on January 18, 2024, the receipt clearly stated 30% (20% redeemable on one transaction), and I was 16 perks away from earning my next reward. This was only six days before the new program. It in no way indicated that the 30% would expire or be removed.
It was my intention this week to do a large shop as I always do when I have 20%. I usually spend $300 to $400, which is a savings of $60 to $80. On my latest receipt it stated I could save $17.00 or 10%. Hardly an honest deal and absolutely unacceptable.
Desired outcome: I understand that Giant Eagle has the right to change their program, but they should acknowledge the fact that we did earn the 30% discount. Perhaps they could issue two certificates in our case for 20% off and 10% off.

Fuel/ myperks
Since the total switch over from fuel perks to my perks, over the past week,, I lost what $ was due to me. On 1/27/24, before purchasing $225 of gift cards, I had 70 cents in fuels perks. After todays purchase there is no increase from the.70. It states on the slip that I can have $12 off gas. What happened to the.70?.70 x 30 gallons = a savings of $21, not $12 dollars, after the additional $225 was spent on gift cards. Giant Eagle is a joke. I will no longer shop there. Cant wait for a newer food chain to take over this area. It's long over due.

January 17, 2024 $.99 ribs
I shop at the Cityview Giant Eagles and continue to notice how the items that are placed on the one day 99 cents sale are often sold out before the day gets started good.
I shop here very regularly and today I wanted to get the ribs that were on sale for 1 day only I went around 1:00pm and was told they were out since that morning around 11am. This happens much too often at this store.
What happened to rain checks, this special was advertised for well over a week as a 1 day sale. If it's meant for special people only why advertise it. And the poor worker's are put in a bad situation trying to explain why they never have enough.
I glad that Northeast Ohio is starting to get more supermarkets, (Meyer's) for one. Maybe the ones we have will start to think about the shoppers who have been loyal to them.

Last month I used this location to fill my prescriptions. I was given prescriptions that were not the prescriptions. My doctor prescribed, and then I came to look in my prescription history online and found two individual prescriptions filled. for each individual prescription.So it shows that there was a prescription for 30 mg and a prescription for 20 mg that I did not pick up each has its own prescription number four prescription numbers total, and I only picked up two of the four that is showing was filled

Fuel perks
I have not received bonus fuel perks the last few times I have done the survey. they have always been submitted more than 2-3 weeks apart. I usually write it down on my calendar to make sure I don't do it before the 15 days. At first I thought it was because my husband got gas and that's why it didn't add on. The next time I had him wait 4 days before he got gas, that still didn't work.
I just did a survey today, so we'll see next week, before I go shopping again if it added the perks.
