Today I checked the online website for the nearest Lowe's store to see if chlorine tabs were available. They were listed on the site, though a message said they were unavailable for delivery. I spent 40 minutes driving to and from the store in 100-degree heat with no AC, only to find there were NO chlorine tabs in stock. I am livid.
I chatted with an online rep via Lowes' website when I got home. First he told me, "Yes, chlorine tablets are not available for online online. You need to purchase it at the store." When I told him that's what I'd tried to do he said, "I would recommend you to call the store before visiting for chlorine tablet. Currently it is not available for online order and we cannot see the availability online." That is an entirely unacceptable response. Most people these days go to websites for information, we don't go to the website AND call.
Another annoyance was that I entered via the garden center. The woman at the cash register looked at me and then turned away. When I said hi and asked where I could find a cart she said they were at the main entrance. When I got inside the garden center I saw at least 10 carts placed under shelves holding plants. Really!?
The very least Lowe's could do would be to require their stores to keep their websites up-to-date and train their employees to be welcoming and informed about where things are in the store they work in. It would also be a good idea for them to make leaving a review on their websites an option. I tried doing that before coming here, and though there were 140 some reviews, there was no option for leaving a new one.
Lowes used to be my go-to hardware store for gardening, pool supply, and home repair.
