Conn's Home Plus - Deceptive practices

On September 3rd, I went to Conn's to purchase a washing machine. The salesperson assisted me in selecting the LG WM2101HW. He informed me that Conn's matches prices and he volunteered to check BestBuy's website on the computer. He pulled up a website he stated was BestBuy, showed me and stated the same washer was one hundred dollars more at BestBuy, so I was getting a good price there at Conn's. I was concerned because the BestBuy website he showed me did not look as I remembered it, so I pulled up the site up on my PDA and saw the same washer advertised for one hundred dollars less than Conn's price at BestBuy. I showed the salesperson the price on my PDA, he then immediately said, he must have made a mistake entering the model number and they would be glad to match BestBuys price but first he needed to get check to see if it was in stock and then get the manager's approval. He made a phone call and told me it was not in stock. I told him that could not be correct because the site listed it as available for pickup today at the BestBuy across the street as well as available for delivery. He walked off to speak with someone else, returned and said I would have to take their damaged floor model washer. I asked him why and he said, the manager would not let him match the price and he didn't know why. I asked to speak with the manager. A salesperson, who stated his name as Frank the manager on duty approached me and immediately said, "I don't have to match prices today because I just don't feel like it and it's my decision, I don't care what our advertisement, policies or the other salesperson has told you, it's my decision today and I'm not going to match that price and I don't have to give you a reason". I asked if I could speak with someone else over the store and his answer was no. I left Conn's and went to the BestBuy across the street. The salesperson I met was the person originally contacted by Conn's and she informed me that me she had told the salesperson at Conn's the washer was in stock and available. She even gave me a printout of their inventory, showing it as available in store and warehouse.

I had heard of complaints regarding Con's customer service but purchased a refrigerator, stove, and dishwasher b/c the price was so good. Part of the savings involved a 12 month 0% interest financing option. When I made the purchase the employee explained that if I didn't pay of the balance within the 12 months interest (at 21%) would apply to the entire balance. Given that my plan was to pay the balance within a year's time, this sounded fair. So, through my on-line banking account I set up a monthly amount to be sent to Con's. The 12 months came and went with no communication from Con's leading me to believe our business transaction was completed. I was so wrong!
TEN MONTHS later I received a bill for an amount that was nearly two-thirds of the original balance. When I called 'customer service' (what a misnomer!) I was told that the amount included the remainder of the original balance plus the interest that had been accruing all this time...HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS and HUNDREDS of dollars of interest. When I questioned the this seemingly deceptive practice I was told that it was perfectly fair b/c I signed the contract. When I replied that every other company I knew of sent out monthly statements, I was told that what they did was perfectly fair b/c I signed the contract. When I explained that I had clearly made an honest mistake (as my payment history would verify) and that such an enormous penalty was absolutely outrageous I was told (surprise!) that it was perfectly fair b/c I signed a contract.
Since I was clearly getting nowhere I asked to speak to someone else and was told that I was speaking with the head of the dept. I then asked to speak with her supervisor and was again told that I was speaking with the head of the dept. UGHHH!
I have never dealt with people so rude, so frustrating, and so uninterested in customer satisfaction and/or repeat business. Needless to say I will never ever buy from Con's again and will do my best to spread the word far and wide!

i would try to take this to an lawyer, to found out my right it time for justice. that why they name is conned
