Was being checked out when lady behind me asked if there was more staff to open registers... There was quite a line of customers waiting as I did for the 1 check out. The staff member said "no... There is no one" then told customer she should just shut up and stop complaining and deal with it...
I was stunned. The lady asking was being nice in her manner. She simply asked. The checker proceeded to mumble and say she wasn't paid enough to listen to complaints and on and on... (asking for more help for the line of customers is a complaint?). I was being checked out and after a bit of this rudeness I told checker I thought she was being inappropriate... And i'd like to speak to her manager. Went down hill from there. Manager came, then walked off when I told her checker was being rude to another customer asking a valid question. I had a cart and was fixing to put my canned veggie purchases in it... Manager grabs it and puts the cart away. So I went and grabbed another one and asked manager to come back. She came back and I asked her why she walked off instead of addressing the other customers issue. She said "well"... What's your complaint?"I said"my complaint is you are being rude to that lady"... And I could see by this sour woman's behavior she had no intention of helping the checker or the customers. She refused.. To give me contact info or store info. I tried to take a pic since no one was wearing name badges... And she walked away. Outside store... Nothing to identify address or phone numbers. There was a 300 up on the top of one window. Store is in n bellingham wa.
Desired outcome: GET BETTER MANAGERS and post clearly contact info in event people want to complain.
I might add that there WAS additional staff. I had to wade thru 5 staff members when I entered the store and tried to get to the line of carts. 2 of the staff were very friendly and said Hi as I navigated. It appeared there was a morning meeting going on right where the carts were when I entered. As I shopped I actually went past 2 of those staff members later that were doing something in the aisles. I waited behind 3 people...and then at least 6 more customers came up behind me. I'm not complaining about the line. I'm complaining that the poor customer was told to shut up and deal with it rather than calling for more help at the register. And I am complaining about the incredibly rude and sour manager that came up pissed off looking before even hearing what I had to say...and obviously is NOT a manager but a witch. Before I left there was another checker present as well as the manager which walked away when I asked for her name and badge number, (assuming she had a badge somewhere). I shop at a
Dollar Store closer to me and NEVER have had anyone be rude or not call for help if lines got long.
