I filed bankrupcty last year to keep my house and had been paying faithfully on my mortage. This month, I sent my mortage payment in on August 1st. Today I received my check back to me. Vericrest had taken over my mortage from Citi Group but no one bothered to tell me. I called my attorney, John Orcutt, which was a waste of my time. Vericrest says that my account is escrowed for insurance and taxes, which it isn't. They also say that I did not have insurance on the home last year which I did. Stay away from this company. Run, run, run. They are scammers!

SO do you still have you House or has any thing been figured out yet.

we are going through pretty much the same situation as you . we have been dealing with this since it was CIT also but we never got a Mod. instead they have dragged it out to a year (including the Buy from Vericrapp) . Then VeriCrapp Finally sends us a Mod (witch was not much of a mod in the first place) at the 1st of this month(SEPT.) we next day aired it back to them . every thing should be ok now---or so we thought as of last week they Foreclosed on us saying that they wanted a "Good Faith" payment when we sent back the now Mod. well we got no such paper saying to send a "good faith" payment, we just got the new contract. we filed BankRuptcy the next morning to put a hold on thing for now . any advice?

I hope it has woked out for you or that it will ! we Know and feel you troubles .

Vericrest finanacial is a predatory lender, so is CIt, you are protected under the federal mortgage laws, like the Truth in lending Act, look at your Truth in lending statement included in your closing documents that's a start, see just how mush money you are really paying back. or do you have a balloon payment. There is a way to fight back. Another way validation of debt, once again this protect you under the Fair Debt Collection Practice Act. There are ways to fight-back you just need to know where to start.

Even though we are always on time in our payments-usually within 15 days of letter or always with 25 days (30 days is the law) they are constantly calling a day or two after they send the bill and demand payment, saying it is overdue-which it is not, now the phones come from cit group and when we go to answer-they hang up!-Harrassment-who else has had this, we needto get together and let some government agency take care of these people to regulate them.

I first had a mortgage payment of 1447.00 w/ wilmington finance they soldout to CIT my payment jump to 1756.00 then i got a call from CIT saying i didn't have enough money in my payment to cover property taxes and h/o insurance so my payment would have to increase and it did to 1938.00. Thats almost 500.00 in the 3 yrs i've been in my home. I think its a ripoff. Now i can barely stay in my home. I had to file for bankruptcy because of the increase in payments. I have beeen faced w/ foreclosure and its getting worse due to lack of work and the economic issues. Does anyone have a solution? The company is now called Vericrest Financial

I just received my 2nd letter from vericrest saying I am in default due to failure to pay two payments. The letters are dated the 6th of the month in Aug.09 and now Nov.09.
The first letter shocked me because I know I have never missed a months payment. I called them and like others on this site have stated, they were rude. I asked for a payment history to be mailed to me so that I would have a hard copy from them for my records. When I received it I went over it and found they too had recorded each and every payment since the beginning of the loan in 06. I immediately got on the phone and talked to the lady that said she was in charge of this account. She told me that she hadn't seen the report but she would check into it. Mind you, , , she told me that she was in care of this account. She didn't get back to me. After a few days I called her and she said that another dept needed to check and that she would call me. She never did.
Sooooooo today I received a Certified Letter from Vericrest, same form letter as Aug. but dated Nov. 6th 2009. My husband was dianosed with Parkinsons diease and I had to go on SS so I do not have the money or time for this nonsense. If there is someone that could help please let me know. I was thinking of sending letters to the officers of the corp. I just don't know what to do. This is the only home we have. I had it reconstructed to adabt for a handicap person. Truly I am at wits end ...

Payment went from 2550 to 3k to 3.2k over last 2 years. Forced placed insurance and property taxes is the reason. Now Vericrest has adjusted my forced placed insurance 2k over my already high premium. New payment 3.6k. Took 2 months and many phone calls to have them tell me the exact reason why the payment was increased. Insurance for my home was 1300, they're charging frist 3k now 5k for insurance.

What's odd is they gave me every reason but the insurance for the adjustment.

I too is a victum of this horrible company, my house was burned partially by a fire but the home could be reparied, the insurance adjuster came out and accessed the damage with took six months so when the insurance claim check arrived with my wife, my name and the mortgage company listed we foward the check to vericrest. We were waiting on the 1st 1/3 of the money to began work on the home and they began to stall and notified me after I had been running around for months for documents they say they needed so once the document was sent to them they told me they were keeping the money to pay the home off and whatever is left they would forward to me. I didn't agree to these terms but they told me that it wasn't anything I could do because they made this decision for me. It has got to be a law against this I paid for the insurance on the home and we want to have the home repaired are there anyone out there who can help me with this robbery.

Vericrest Financial stole my Identity after I revoked the Attorney-in-Fact rights from them. I reported the to the FTC and all 3 credit bureaus, (Equifax, Transunion, & Experian).

Help! I changed insurance companies and faxed, emailed, mailed and went online to notify them of the change. They still went ahead and signed me up for a $2300 hazard policy. What's worse is that they took...no stole...the money from my escrow account to pay it. Now, no money left for taxes. If they don't fix this on Monday, I am going to hire an attorney.

I lost my job while I was pregnant last year, and had such a hard time finding anyone willing to hire me, my husband was losing clients due to the recession and we fell behind on our payments, taxes, everything. Things got better, I went to work as soon as the baby was born, and we have been paying extra along with our normal payments for six months now.

We recieved a good client, so We wanted to pay off the back amount still owed. Nobody there could give me an amount that was considered in default. It ranged from 2900.00 to 4500.00 depending on who I was talking too. I finally got fed up, and started asking for either a supervisor or the most senior employee there. I had to ask three times, as each one insisted she could answer my questions. She couldn't, which would have been okay if they would just admit..'Hey, I don't know what I am doing.' But, Nooooo they have to pretend they know what they are talking about. Anyway I finally got a supervisor after, much huffy attitudes (You would think I insulted them by asking for a supervisor right away) and she was able to give me a break down and an amount to send in.

For the insurance side, its a whole different set of people, in other words, one department doesn't know what the other one is doing. I talked to a woman over there that was super and helpfull, she even walked over to the mortgage customer service side and showed them how to update their info. I think her name was Tammy Delany.

We are sending them a check, next week. Its just unbelievable how hard it was to GIVE them money. You think they would be better trained.

My loan was originated with the CIT group which sold my loan out of bankruptcy to Lone Star Funds who appears to own "Vericrest Financial" before they did they PREPAID my Property Taxes before they were due and set up a bogus escrow account which has been shorting my monthly payments in order to cause the account to be delinquent, thus racking up late fees junk fees ect. I have tried to get them to fix this for 3+ years. I am done I have recently sent complaints to RESPA, OCC, ATTNY GEN, FTC. and am know awaiting responses I urge everyone to do the same. This company should be called "VeriCRAP"
