My Frustrating Experience with VitalChek: Unhelpful Customer Service and Ineffective Processes
My experience with VitalChek (vitalcheck.com) has been nothing short of frustrating and disappointing, and if it were possible to give them a negative rating, I would. I recently ordered a birth certificate for my 9-month-old daughter, and I am still unable to upload the necessary documents.
My wife initially filled out the application and uploaded all the required documents. However, within 24 hours, we received an email stating that our order was on hold and that we needed to provide a valid government-issued photo ID. We promptly uploaded my wife's driver's license, only to receive the same email requesting the same information over and over again, for six or seven cycles.
We decided to call customer service to try to get some help, but unfortunately, they were of no assistance. They simply recorded the same message that was in the email, asking for a valid photo ID. The representative suggested that we cancel the order and submit a new one, so we did just that. However, we soon found ourselves in the same cycle of being asked to provide the same information we had already provided several times before.
Before uploading the documents, I made sure to verify that the PDF of my photo ID was clear and that there were no issues with the document. Yet, despite our efforts, we still haven't been able to fulfill the order.
In conclusion, I find it hard to believe that a company like VitalChek is still in business. Their customer service is unhelpful, and their processes are clearly ineffective. Save yourself the headache and frustration and look for another service provider.
Poor Customer Service and Frustration with VitalChek's Certificate Request Process and Refund Procedures
The frustration and disappointment of receiving poor customer service is something many of us can relate to, especially when it comes to something as important as vital documents. Unfortunately, this was the experience of a customer who requested five certificates from VitalChek via vitalcheck.com over three months ago. To make matters worse, they received an incomplete envelope over two months after the initial request, with two items missing despite a note inside saying all five had been sent. This led to the time-consuming and ultimately fruitless process of requesting a refund for the missing items, which was compounded by numerous false promises regarding the timeline and procedures from both representatives and supervisors.
The blame for this situation was often shifted to the County of Los Angeles, even though VitalChek was the entity being paid, leading to further frustration for the customer. One representative, Victoria, promised to place a refund request and ensure it was processed within five business days, but when the customer followed up, they were informed that no such request had been made. Waiting three months for important certificates and over two months for a refund can be a significant inconvenience and, as such, the customer felt it was important to let others know that they would not recommend this service to anyone.
However, there is a silver lining to this story. After speaking with a representative named Cindy, who promised to submit the claim for a refund and have it credited to the customer's CC account within five business days (or ten if unforeseen circumstances arose), the refund was unexpectedly approved and processed the next day. This unexpected efficiency on the part of VitalChek's representatives is a welcome change, and if all customer service was as efficient as Cindy's, VitalChek's business rating would certainly improve. As a result of this positive experience, the customer has even amended their rating with another star.
It's essential to highlight these kinds of experiences, both positive and negative, as they can help inform future customers and organizations looking to improve their services. In the case of VitalChek, it seems that there is hope for a better customer experience, so long as they can replicate the customer service provided by Cindy.
Frustrating Experience with VitalChek: Delayed Payment Processing, Poor Customer Service, and Glitchy System
I had a rather frustrating experience with VitalChek when I placed my order for my birth certificate on January 17th. Initially, when I tried to process my credit card, they were unable to complete the transaction. Unfortunately, I wasn't informed about this until two weeks later on January 31st when I went to check the status of my order online. I reached out to customer service to figure out what was going on, and a representative processed my payment. However, even though my bank statement showed that the payment had gone through, a week later on February 7th, the VitalChek website still showed my payment as declined.
I contacted customer service once again and waited on hold for 15 minutes to try and get to the bottom of the issue. The representative couldn't provide me with any answers, but instead asked if she could process my credit card once again. After explaining that my bank showed that the payment had already gone through, the representative put me on hold once again to consult with her supervisor. When she returned, she explained that there was a computer glitch that prevented the system from updating my account. Neither she nor her supervisor were able to fix the issue, and so they had to involve a second supervisor who would call me back.
Over an hour and a half later, I finally received a call back that confirmed that VitalChek had finally received my payment and submitted my request to the state. However, this was after they had sat on my payment for a week without any notification. If I hadn't called them to check on the status of my order, they would have just kept my money without submitting my request. It's now been three weeks since I placed my order, and I'm still a month away from receiving my birth certificate.
To add insult to injury, when I checked my order status online, it still shows that my payment was declined, even though it had gone through according to my bank statement. Honestly, the whole situation left me feeling frustrated and short-changed. I plan to call customer service once again later today to try and get answers about why my payment status still shows as declined when I'm less upset than I was yesterday.
VitalChek: A Complete Scam - My Experience
My experience with VitalChek was nothing short of a complete mess. I needed a copy of my marriage license but was alarmed when I got to the final page and was asked to provide my social security number. As any responsible person would, I decided to check whether the website was legitimate before I went ahead and provided sensitive personal information. However, before I even had a chance to complete my check, an email arrived confirming my order and receipt for payment of $25 for a new marriage certificate. I was puzzled as I had not clicked on the "place order" button nor had I provided my SSN. Despite that, VitalChek had managed to charge me.
When I examined my bank statement, there it was, a record of a charge from VitalChek. A couple of weeks later, I received an email from them requesting more confidential information from me to complete my order. I reached out to them immediately to inform them that I had never even placed an order in the first place, let alone provided any sensitive personal details. I was not happy with their response. In fact, I received three different responses from three different people. The first one claimed that they could not find any evidence of an order or charge, which was not true because I had visual evidence. The second one told me to reach out to the Maryland Vital Records Office regarding the charges and order; however, I never interacted with that office at all. The third person simply shrugged it off and ended the conversation, which left me feeling even more frustrated.
Thankfully, I happened to be driving to Maryland that same weekend and was able to retrieve what I needed for a mere $5.50. As for my $25 refund, I have not received it up to this day. Even though it was only $25, the principle of VitalChek essentially stealing from me is unacceptable. The whole experience with VitalChek was a complete scam. From the moment I entered my bank information, they had already swindled me out of my money. I would strongly advise anyone thinking of using their services to reconsider.
Unprofessional and Unfair: Our Experience with Vitalcheck.com
Recently, my elderly mother placed an order with vitalcheck.com for a divorce decree that she needed urgently to obtain VA benefits. Even after a wait of 6 long months, the decree was not delivered. On checking the status of the order, we were shocked to see that the website showed the message "time has passed to process." We tried to reach out to the customer service helpline through the phone number provided, but to no avail. The worst part was that they had charged my mother a hefty amount of $90 for their services, but were not responding to her emails requesting updates.
With only 3 more months left to get the necessary paperwork to the VA, we were extremely worried, as any further delay could lead to losing all the benefits for the year. This behavior from vitalcheck.com was most certainly unfair and immoral.
After quite a bit of trouble, we finally received a response from the company. The response was so ridiculous, and it claimed that we never responded to previous emails. When we showed the emails of our past correspondence and the dates, they said there were no records. However, we had a photocopy of the divorce decree, so there were definitely records. It made us wonder how inefficient and unprofessional a company can be.
To add to the frustration, their next response was even more ridiculous. They suggested we reorder and pay them again. This despite the fact that the information in the original order was accurate, and it came directly from the divorce decree.
When we pointed out the absurdity of the situation, the company replied with an email saying that the order is closed, and the vital records office couldn't find any record. They also apologized for not meeting our expectations. But to be honest, this was completely inexcusable conduct by vitalcheck.com.
We believe that companies like vitalcheck.com should be ashamed of taking advantage of seniors like my mother. They should understand the gravity of the situation and be more prompt in their services, especially when dealing with someone who is trying to get benefits through the VA. This experience has left a bitter taste in our mouths, and we would advise everyone to think twice before using their services.
Frustrating Experience with VitalChek for Amended Birth Certificate Order
I recently had an incredibly frustrating experience with VitalChek, and unfortunately it was made even worse by the fact that the Monroe County office of vital records required me to use their services. I had already gone through a number of confusing steps and encountered conflicting information, so when I finally thought I had successfully ordered an amended birth certificate through the state website, I was dismayed to find out that the order hadn't gone through. After contacting the office, I was told that I had to order through VitalChek.
Despite the fact that the state of New York acknowledged my application, VitalChek claimed that they needed all of my information again and asked me to call them. However, they have extremely poor customer service, and it took me 45 minutes of waiting on hold just to speak with a representative. Even then, it was incredibly slow going and it seemed like the person I was speaking with wasn't able to actually help me.
To make matters worse, I'm adopted and was never issued a proper long-form birth certificate with the names of my adoptive parents. The state of New York only provided me with a registration certificate that references the original certificate of birth, which is useless as it has the names of my DNA donors. VitalChek insisted that I provide them with the information as it appears on my birth certificate, which was impossible in my situation.
All told, I spent over 2.5 hours on hold with VitalChek and still didn't end up with my documents. I found the whole experience to be incredibly frustrating and aggravating, and I would definitely not recommend using their services if there are any other options available to you.
Warning: Do Not Use VitalChek for Vital Record Services - Frustrating Customer Service and Delayed Delivery Times
I recently had to obtain a copy of my birth certificate from the state of New York, and I was directed to VitalChek's website through the official state vital records site. After calling their customer service line on June 8th, I was told that due to pandemic-related delays, it would take 35-40 days for my certificate to arrive. I made sure to confirm with the representative that my certificate would arrive by my deadline of August 6th, which they assured me it would.
I provided all of my personal information and payment over the phone that day and checked my order status online, which reflected the expected delivery time of 35-40 days. However, over two months have passed, and the status has not changed despite repeated phone calls to their customer service line. I even paid extra for expedited shipping, but the representative informed me on August 3rd that it would now take a minimum of 16 weeks.
Ultimately, I decided to contact the city where I was born and was pleasantly surprised to receive my birth certificate within 4 days. Unfortunately, VitalChek refused to issue me a refund for their services, claiming that I must reach out to New York State instead. I was left feeling frustrated and concerned about the personal information I had to disclose to VitalChek, and I strongly advise against using their services. Not only did I not receive the records I needed, but I also did not receive my money back.
Difficult and Time-Consuming Experience with VitalChek for Death Certificate
Recently, I had an unfortunate experience using VitalChek to obtain my mother's certified death certificate. Due to the Covid-19 pandemic, the Oklahoma Vital Statistics office wasn't an option for me to physically visit, so I turned to VitalChek. After filling out their form, I submitted it along with a non-certified copy of my mother's death certificate and a copy of my driver's license as stated in their requirements. However, shortly after submitting my request, I received an email from VitalChek stating they needed more information to process my request.
I attempted to call them but was put on hold for 49 minutes before giving up. I then sent them a copy of a credit union statement, which my mother and I were both listed on, along with my birth certificate per their customer service representative's request. However, to my dismay, I received yet another notification that they needed more information. This repetitious cycle continued for almost 3 weeks, costing me $80 for both certificates, and countless hours of scanning and uploading documents as I am not very tech-savvy.
It was only after my third call to their customer service team, where I threatened to have my mother exhumed for a DNA test that they finally informed me that I also needed to send a copy of my marriage license. Finally, my request was processed, and I received the certified copies I needed. Although I received help from some courteous customer service reps, the process was laborious, frustrating, and time-consuming.
In conclusion, I would advise others to find a more reliable and timely solution for obtaining vital statistic documents. As a senior citizen, I found the process of scanning and uploading documents to be very challenging. I also recommend keeping important documents within easy reach to help expedite the process when unfortunate events such as these arise.

Why I Don't Recommend Using VitalChek for Vital Records
If you're ever in need of vital records, such as a birth certificate, it may be tempting to use an online service like VitalChek. However, based on my personal experience, I would strongly advise against it.
I made the mistake of using VitalChek to obtain my newborn daughter's birth certificate before an upcoming international trip. Unfortunately, the process was not only lengthy, but ultimately resulted in the document being lost by UPS. When I contacted VitalChek's customer service team to inform them of the situation and to see if there was any way to expedite the process since I had a trip coming up, I was met with unsatisfactory solutions such as simply refunding my money and telling me to start the process all over again.
Not only was this process extremely inconvenient and frustrating, but I also had to spend extra money to notarize and fax my application previously. It seemed unreasonable for me to have to restart everything from scratch after already waiting for ~7 weeks for the initial request. Additionally, what was most upsetting was that throughout the conversation, the customer service representatives showed absolutely no empathy or understanding towards my situation.
In my opinion, it's much better to go directly to your county recorder's office or to send a direct mail for whatever vital records you may need. VitalChek's service was unhelpful and ultimately did not provide me with the documents I needed. I won't be using this service again in the future.
My Experience with VitalChek: Hassle, Lack of Information, and Hidden Fees
I recently had an experience with VitalChek website and honestly, it was a bit of a hassle. I had to go through several steps and put in all my personal and child's information just to obtain a birth certificate. Since I didn't have a driver's license, I had to go find a notary public to verify my identity, which was quite inconvenient. On top of that, I had recently undergone hand surgery, which made commuting by public transportation challenging.
One issue I had with the website was the lack of information provided. I believe they need to be upfront about the entire process and what users can expect. When I attempted to cancel my order, I was informed that I would have to pay an additional six-dollar fee, which was not mentioned at any point during the ordering process. It felt like a way to extort more money from me. I would have preferred waiting in line instead of going through all that trouble.
Furthermore, the website's layout was also confusing. Every time I tried clicking on something, I was asked to enter my phone number, which seemed strange to me. It made me wonder if the entire website was a scam. I think it's essential to contact the Better Business Bureau about such practices.
Overall, my experience with VitalChek was not great, and I think they need to work on improving their website's interface, providing better information, and being transparent about any fees.
VitalChek Review: Frustrating Experience with Automated Messaging System and Poor Customer Service
I recently had a frustrating experience with VitalChek and would never recommend their services to anyone. I encountered issues with their automated messaging system, which repeatedly sent notifications indicating that my Sworn Statement had not been received, despite the County Records office confirming they had received it. VitalChek then sent an auto message alerting me that my order had been cancelled because the Sworn Statement was not received. I was shocked, as I had sent multiple emails informing them of the confirmation I received from the County Records office, yet my order was still cancelled.
When I reached out to VitalChek to resolve the problem, I was greeted by an automated message informing me that they were not currently available. This was beyond frustrating, as I had paid for their services and expected a human response to deal with the issue.
Eventually, I had to take the matter into my own hands and contact the County Records office myself. They confirmed that they had received my Sworn Statement and assured me that they would contact VitalCheck on my behalf. VitalCheck then informed me that their automated messages were irrelevant and that they should have been ignored. This was unacceptable to me, as a customer, as it had caused unnecessary anxiety and frustration on my part.
In closing, I would highly discourage anyone from using VitalChek's services. If you require a Wedding Certificate or Birth Certificate, I recommend using USPS express mail and sending the fee requested by the relevant County Records office, along with a self-addressed envelope. This is a more reliable and hassle-free option, with no need to deal with automated messaging systems or uncaring customer service.
Avoid VitalChek for Urgent Document Needs: My Frustrating Experience
I recently had the unfortunate experience of using VitalChek's services to obtain a certified copy of my marriage certificate in NC. I paid a hefty fee of over $104 on June 12th and still had not received my order even after a significant amount of time had passed. I needed this certificate for visa purposes, so the delay was particularly frustrating. To make matters worse, after the certificate was finally processed, I discovered that it would also need an Apostille. This left me feeling overwhelmed and unsure of how to proceed.
On June 29th, I decided to reach out to VitalChek for an update on my order. However, it took them until July 9th to respond to my email. After being informed that my order had been processing for 17 business days, I began to feel increasingly uneasy, especially after I read some of the bad reviews about VitalChek online. I could not afford any further delays, so I took it upon myself to obtain the certified marriage certificate and get it Apostilled in NC, via mail, within just one week. This cost me only $10 for the certificate, $10 for the Apostille, and some additional shipping fees, which was still significantly less than what I paid to VitalChek.
To add to the confusion, I was unsure why VitalChek had charged so much and yet failed to deliver my order on time. I also found the cancellation process frustrating, as they refused to refund my money. Overall, I would strongly advise anyone against using VitalChek's services. It is simply not worth the money or the headache, especially if you need the documents urgently. In my experience, it is better to handle all such requests directly and manage it yourself, as I did successfully.
VitalChek: A Dubious Middleman for Sensitive Information
When I initially stumbled upon VitalChek, I was thrilled to find a service that promised to make the process of obtaining a necessary certificate a breeze. However, upon closer inspection, I was initially dismayed to discover that it was actually run by LexisNexis, a database company that my job uses to track people and collect information on them. While this fact immediately raised concerns about my privacy, I decided to give the site a chance, hopeful that it would prove me wrong.
At first, the VitalChek site seemed straightforward and simple to use, not asking for too much personal information upfront. However, this changed once I had entered my payment details and was asked to upload copies of my identification and even my social security number. At this point, I felt uneasy and trapped in a situation where I had already divulged sensitive information and yet still needed their services to complete my request.
What's more, the promised speedy turnaround time of 10 days quickly proved to be a falsehood, as I was informed that I would have to defer to the timeline of the health department, which could be 20 days or even longer. This left me feeling frustrated and mistrusting of the whole process, as it seemed that VitalChek was simply a middleman profiting off of people's desperation and need for speedy service.
If there is one thing that I learned from this experience, it's that it's always best to err on the side of caution when it comes to sharing personal data with third-party services. While VitalChek may seem like a quick fix for obtaining necessary documents, in reality, it could end up doing more harm than good. In conclusion, I would advise others to avoid this service altogether and rely on the state department for their needed documents, even if it means waiting a bit longer.
Order another delivered, vitalchek entered my address incorrectly, not received
Hello,
On Jan 12, 2023 I went to https://www.cdph.ca.gov/Programs/CHSI/Pages/Vital-Records-Obtaining-Certified-Copies-of-Birth-Records.aspx
I followed their links to order my Birth Cert "Electronically" they provide three thrird parties. I selected VitalChek Link and paid to have a certified copy of my birth certificate sent to me INTERNATIONALLY. I selected Interntaional, and entered my address, I entered the "province" on the second address bar and typed province : Hay Nahda. I entered Rabat., as the State and Morocco and Country, Zip code 10200.
I received an an email confirmation from Vital Chek and noticed in the email where they incorrectly typed my address. They put the Provence as the State and Rabat as the Country and did not Enter tMorocco at all anywhere. I am 150% certain as I had to select the correct country, and I would not have been able to continue to the next page without selecting it, there is no country names Rabat. I am always very careful with this. I used there online portal as that is the only option to inform them of my concern but the reps responses did not confirm the address and told me to contact VITAL RECORDS who then referred me back to VITAL CHEK, As the error is theirs. I kept sending messages ALL of this I have proof of from email confirmations where they just CLOSED the ticket and claimed it was resolved. I have the attached proof of those customer support inquiries. Always a different status. Their website also shows inconsistencies to check order status says processing, then the website as of today says cant find it.and to call which i did. I called California Vital records first who told me it was mailed feb 3, VITALCHEK says they dont show it was mailed yet, BUT I pointed out to them that it has been beyond 98 days/ its been 66 business days beyond their time limit of 36 weeks They offered no solution and keep changing the subject when i requested a refund and acknowledgement of their error saying I need to call Vital Records who understandably says I need to call VitalChek since i placed the order with them. It's important to emphasize I did not nor could have made an error because their system requires you select each fillable bar before continuing And I selected Rabat as State and Morocco as country what they did was enter the Provence as the State and The State as the Country and that is according to their own email. I am attaching the screen shots of this proof. I thank you for your assistance in getting this resolved in an urgent manner
Desired outcome: A refund . Or they take full responsibility for their error as the email shows they made & resend my certified birth certificate again expedited + tracking . They exceeded their own time frame limit with no explanation
Progress of overnight order
I ordered a birth certificate on 10/30/20, you accepted my payment, I have requested 5 times to know where my order is and have yet to get an answer. Marriage certificate
On Sunday, 10/18/2020, I ordered through VitaCheck a certified marriage certificate (I thought it was through Florida Vital Statistics). I was charged $40.00 for what amounts to one piece of paper. I could have gone to the court house except for the COVID virus. After thinking about it half the night, I got up and sent an email to VitaCheck to cancel my order at 4:00 a.m.
The next morning I also called VitaCheck at a little after 8:00 (ET) (7:00 CT when they opened. I spoke to a representative who explained to me that I could not cancel it since the order had already gone to Florida Vital Statistics. I asked the how that could be because their recording said they opened at 7 (CT) and my email was sent at 4:00 a.m.
I called Florida Vital Statistics and they said they had not yet received it and would call me back.
I am not sure what checks are in place for VitaCheck since they are what I consider a "middleman" serving the public. There should be a certain amount of time after placing the order to be allowed to cancel it. As soon as I ordered it, I regretted it since it is $40.00 and I am on a social security budget.
I did not see an option of how to have the document mailed to me. The shipping came up last prior to the order.
When I went through the emails in corresponding with Vitacheck and went to save them for future use, the Vitacheck emails sent to me came out in what looks like Chinese print.
If the government is going to use "middlemen" to ease the burden of overwork, there has to be some checks and balances in the process. How much is Vitacheck getting from this operation? $40.00 is a hefty price to pay for one piece of paper.
If VitaCheck is going to be a middleman in this whole process, they need to be more user friendly for the consumer. As far as I'm concerned, they have been price-gouging the consumers.
Birth certificate
I have ordered a birth certificate online about a month ago and I keep on receiving not to reply they had charged me $75 dollars about a month ago and I and still have not received anything they stole my money this company is scamming people for their money please help me with this I'm not rich just trying to do the right thing and this is what I get
Not receiving the right document.
I was adopted and I have been searching for my birth parents for 40 years. VitalChek assured me that for $40 the would get it for me. When I received it, it was the birth certificate from when my adoption was finalized by my adopted parents on May 27th, 1960, of which I all ready had 4 copies of. I clearly stated and wrote that I wanted my original birth certificate, which should of had the date May 8th, 1960, my birth date. I contacted them and they told me I would have to take it up with the courts. I paid VitaChek, not the courts $40 and they should be responsible.
The complaint has been investigated and resolved to the customer's satisfaction.
We apologize if someone at VitalChek provided you with the incorrect information that you could order your pre-adoption certificate through us. In most states, adoption records are sealed and may require a court order to unseal. Please contact us so we can assist you with this matter. The quickest way to reach us is by private message at Facebook.com/VitalChek. You can also call us at [protected] or email us at vitals.research@vitalchek.com.
Birth certificate shipping
I ordered a birth certificate through Vitalchek and received a notification stating it had shipped, however I never actually received my order (now nearly a month from it shipping) I contacted Vitalchek and they informed me it was out of their hands, they would not refund me and it was up to the recorders office to send another Birth certificate, not them.
Birth certificate
Do not use this company!
My husband needed his birth certificate for employment. They took my money on February 22, 2018. Shipped my order on February 23, 2018. I've been very, very patient! Past few weeks my husband and I have been on hold with this company for very long periods of time! No one ever answers (866) 203-2777! The only time I've actually spoke to a real person is when I acted like I was placing a new order through the phone (800) 255-2414! Few weeks ago first rep gave me the number to the VA agency. Today, second rep said there's nothing he can do and connected me to the number no one answers! Today, third rep was helpful. She refunded part of my money and said she emailed the agency that mails the certificate. I want the document not my money. I'm so frustrated and I'm done with this shady company!
Death certificate
I submitted the form for a death certificate.
After a couple of days, they sent me an email telling me they needed more information and to fax it to them.
A couple of days later I get an email to call them. I call and they give me some crap about needing a notarized statement of some kind. Remember once an order is placed that get your money even if they don't get the forms you want.
I walked into the Dept of Vital statistics with the same information I faxed to them and 8 minutes and 15.00 later I had the form.
Based on what I went through I feel these people are scam artists plain and simple.
Death certificate
I ordered a death certificate online on February 9. Was charged on my credit card on February 17. I still have not received the death certificate (as of March 19). Keep getting told it is being processed. I since went to the records office and received the death certificate in person. I asked for a refund and was told that they can not process it due to the order was already submitted. I never again use their service. Just terrible.

Getting run around with death certificate, customer service horrible
I ordered through VitalChek to speed things up, what a huge mistake! I uploaded my ID and they say they never got it, so I faxed my ID and still nothing. If I had mailed the form to California with a check for $18, I would be way ahead in the process. As it is I've lost two weeks now. I'm registrar for my local DAR chapter and very active in genealogy community, you can bet I'll tell everyone to never, ever use this service. It is truly a scam. Right now I've been on hold with their customer service for 15 minutes, I suspect I will not reach a live person. I emailed and they sent a reply that didn't help or answer any questions.

Incorrect death certificate
Placed an order for copy of brother's death certificate on 2/20/17. Order status misleading claimed that my order was shipped on 2/27/17. Paid extra fees for 2 - day UPS Air delivery. Took over 3 weeks to receive my order. On top of that, they sent me a bogus Death certificate for some unknown FEMALE who passed away back in 1991. Still trying to get my money refunded!
Do not let them sucker you. Customer service is horrible. Pretty much impossible to talk to someone on the phone. They are not legit! Avoid these folks...

Birth certificate of that for my deceased father
On January 31, 2017 I ordered a Birth Certificate of that for my deceased father. There were issues with some of the documents that were scanned and submitted. So, I did have to re-scan the documents again and get the Signature and Date Required form notarized which I did on 2/7/2017. All forms were resent to VitalChek on that date and approved.
The form states that the Estimated Processing Time is 3 - 5 business days.
Today is 3/3/2017 and I still have not received my birth certificate.
I have called [protected] and no one answers the phone. So, I sent my question via e-mail twice. The only thing the e-mail stated is that my e-mail was received! If this company cannot deliver they need to get out of business!
I will warn everyone DO NOT USE VITALCHEK! I am out of $58.95.
I would like to get a full refund of $58.95 for a product that I NEVER RECEIVED!

Obtaining a birth certificate
I ordered a birth certificate for my daughter on 2/12, was charged that day for the VitalChek service and then the following day on the 13th for the Georgia Records processing and two day UPS shipping. The lead time was supposed to be 5 to 7 days from the time we were charged the Georgia Records processing fee. It is now March 1st and not only do we not have the records we ordered, no one from VitalChek will respond on where the documents are or when they will be recieved. Not sure I understand the company's lack of concern, especially with the number of complaints that appear on line.
Vitachek needs accurate lead times.
We received the birth certificates two weeks later than promised.

birth certificate order
In Feb 20, 2017 I placed order #[protected] for a birth certificate for my father .
I followed the direction and it appeared that I was ordering for myself and not my father. I immediately emailed the company within 60 seconds and verified that I was ordering for my father and not myself.
Spoke to Robert employee #133298 at vitalchek and he said I would have to reorder because I ordered incorrectly. So my question to him was why does their site have the option to correct your order if they wont correct your order. They charged me $54.50 for nothing and basically said sorry not sorry. The company would not make it right even after he acknowledged themy request for the correction of my order and he verified he received it with a minute of my order. Very poor customer service. Total Scam!

birth certificate
In November 2016, I ordered an Arkansas Birth Certificate from VitalChek. In December 2016 I contacted them about the status and they had no record of the order despite having charged my credit card for the order. I contacted my bank and it was verified that VitalChek was at fault and I was provided a refund.
I then resubmitted the order on Dec 22, 2016 for the aforementioned birth certificate. As of today, Feb 23, 2017, I have not received the certificate and VitalChek has withheld a refund pending a process of them sending email requests to Arkansas for information on the order. I will again go through my bank to get my money refunded for VitalChek's lack of delivery and terrible customer service. I will reorder the certificate directly from Arkansas and will not ever use VitalChek for anything in the future. It is a scam.
I called David and spoke with him about my complaint. He told me that it was very difficult for VitalChek to get states to promptly follow through orders of historical documents. This is not how VitalChek advertises their services. Regardless, David told me that he was going to contact the state and then call me back the next day. That was several days ago and I have not had any communication from him. The constant here is that there is no follow through or delivery from VitalChek. Save your money and time and just order what you need directly from the states and not us this intermediary.
I called and spoke with David and was told how difficult it is for VitalChek to get states to follow through on historical orders. He also told me that he would be following up and returning a call within a day. That was several days ago. Again, the constant here is a lack of delivery and follow through.
