What are the advantages of doing quarterly planning? 9

Has anyone attempted altering their goalsetting strategy by focusing on quarterly goals rather than yearly ones?

Goals for each quarter, or ‘quarterly quests’ to some, allow for a better distribution of time when making targets for the year. In this case, instead of setting targets for the year which may seem complicated, one can simply focus on the next 90 days. This idea is commonly supported across several productivity methodologies and further helps in the division of a bigger goal over the span of 90-day projects, thereby making the overall goal more achievable in the long term.

The 6 keys or 6 productivity habits
Basically from "very general" to "very specific"
1. Instead of annual goals go for the "Quarterly quests" (basically set goals every 3 months)
2. Weekly review or weekly reset: How did the last week go? What are my goals for next week? How are my "Quarterly quests" going?
3. The "Morning Manifesto": What are my top 3 priorities? How are they going? Do what you say you are going to do!
4. Focus Logs: track how many mins you spend on the things you need to be productive in, in order to be more conscious about your productivity
5. Social Events: Set a social event (brunch, lunch, date nights...) that happens every week at the same time
6. Multimodality Multitasking: DO 2 THINGS AT ONCE, but 2 different modalities. For instance, drive and listen to podcasts, walk and record your ideas or something like that. Be productive during "dead times"

I started my yearly goals recently. Why wait? It is a mix of goals and systems. And I split it into 12 week years. We will see how it goes. I am excited.

I agree with quarterly goals absolutely! I’ve created an editable strategy template using the balanced scorecard - a management tool widely used and quarterly key performance indicators suggested for small businesses with a tracking template! (Includes a data dashboard)
