The record year for IPOs in the direct-to-consumer space in 2021 was influenced by a combination of factors including a significant influx of online shopping due to the pandemic, excess venture capital funding, and a record year for SPAC listings. The zero-interest-rate environment also played a role, as it made capital more accessible, encouraging more companies to go public.

What happened to companies growing privately and not depending on valuation and IPOs. If companies focused on bottom line and savings and growing instead of just Wallstreet we would see less layoffs and more brands would last longer.
