What is cognitive superposition? 5
I believe the term “thinking” goes beyond the notion of cognition alone, but for the purposes of this discussion, I will consider cognition to be the surrogate of thinking and use these terms interchangeably. People use the words ‘superposition’ and ‘cognitive superposition’ too lightly and contextually there appears to be confusion. The most basic and broad definition of superposition, in many modern sciences including physics, states that multiple states may exist simultaneously for any one system. Mathematics assumes that certain outputs or processes can be modified to suit the needs of the society. Here is where the perspective on how to improve social infrastructure comes in. Mathematics and social sciences provide models to optimize and systematize processes within human society.
The term cognitive superposition gets its inspiration from very closely related concepts in the field of physics which states that systems can exist in a number of states at the same time and depend on a number of probabilities until the states of the system in its probabilistic form are measured. It means that in terms of the mind, it is possible to entertain many ideas, which may be mutually antagonistic, but none is dominant. It has certain advantages as it expands the cognitive domain of the person.
"Don't confuse me with the facts, I already know..." There are some people that are so challenged intellectually, when they put one and one together, they get 11. Or on a bad day, pause. As to Shakespeare, you're referring to "dichotomy of character" and if people want to read a modern book where we can examine this type of individual, read "The Godfather." Puzo did such an incredible job on this book, it's mind boggling. Read Shakespeare too! I really like the idea of "cognitive superposition," that's a useful concept!
"Life isn't that or that, it's BOTH at the same time." Sounds like YIN-YANG: Opposing forces creating and destroying each other at once, creating a balance. Needing each other for their very existence.
"It's not even your own stupid idea!"
"he who knows everything knows nothing at all"
