In a plank, keep strain off the shoulders by stacking the wrists directly below them, find a straight neutral spine, untuck the chin, and use your breath to draw the navel inward and upward with each exhale. Avoid hips being too high or too low, rounding or arching in the back, and make sure the knees aren't bent and the quads are engaged.
