I too wrote a book using their publishing company. The book was out in November 2023. I have been requesting Royalties for last 2 months. I have sent the requested w9, emails, spoke to my rep and went into the office. They keep sending emails requesting the same documentation. In addition all of my contracted services to them have been paid in full; but...

Promises and royalties
Several times I contacted them about not receiving any royalty checks and I knew that there should have been some because all my friends and family had purchased books. I didn't hear a peep out of them after several emails. Finally after going round through marketing and my sales rep I got an email stating that they didn't have my W-9. This was not true as it is one of the first documents you have to fill out when you sign with them.
To top this off, they charged me additional fees that they didn't mention because of mixed language text. When I got the electronic copy to review it had all sorts of errors in formatting and they asked ME to point them all out and I was limited to 35. Well they had easily over 100 with over 35 just in the table of contents. I also sent them a rev after that because I noticed some images that were too large and some things I could help with the formatting. Only thing was they didn't use the rev for the second release! So then they charged me to redo it with the rev I had sent them a month and a half before.
Then they charged an exorbitant fee for the book that I had no say in. I have since gone to another company can publish them for a fraction of that cost.
Finally and the last straw for me. They have a renewal fee that they charge once a year. For what? I declined for what I see as a money grab that they can deliver nothing for.
They then were in breach of contract by pulling my books early off Amazon before my year was up I guess to spite me that I had declined their renewal.
I would advise to steer way clear of this company or be prepared to be over charged and under represented.
No royalties received
I am Hazel Ann Gibbs De Peza. In 2007, Xulon Press was paid to publish my book, My Faith Spiritual Baptist Christian. After the publication and my own personal purchase of books, I have not received correspondence from Xulon Press. I have never received Royalties and my book is being sought after and sales are being made but I am receiving nothing.
Desired outcome: Payment of Royalties
Royalties
I wrote a book using their publishing company. The book was out in October 2020. I have been requesting Royalties for last 4months. I have sent faxes of w9, sent emails, made phone calls, spoke to my rep and the person you make monthly payments to however NO Check, no return calls...
I am eager to begin my next book project, however am leery in doing so. The process of getting the book completed was great, so I am really at a loss of words on how I am being treated on the back end of things. Very un-professional. I reached out to the Sales Executive who I sold me the Book Package deal to begin with to see if she could help, however she never replied to my email.
This is very disheartening to say the least.
I am in no means slandering. This is the Gods Honest Truth. I am praying this can be resolved sooner than later.
Desired outcome: Royalties due to me to be paid out
I can say that as of today December 2, 2021 I have received my Royalties. Not sure if this complaint helped. I did call about 3 weeks ago and was told it will take 7-8 weeks and he remembers me emailing them.
Thank you Lord.
This is the first time I am writing a complaint as I never pursued anything after Xulon published my book in 2012. As of this day, I have not received a dime of my royalties. My book is called" From darkness into his marvelous light". It saddens me to see more people have also been left out of theirs as well.
I published my book with Xulon Press since 2007. My book is in demand and being bought but I have never received any Royalty from the Xulon Press company. I wish that this can be corrected. Seeing that so many people have gone through the same trauma, I wonder if there will be any reprieve.
I published my book in September of 2020 and Xulon press keeps saying that there are no sales for the last 10 months yet I have seen friends and family who have purchased my book from different vendors including Amazon. My account presentative JJ and now CW does not follow up with my emails or phone calls. My relationship with Xulon Press had a good start and now this business partnership has turned very sour. I will not be using Xulon Press for my next book. The sales report posted on my account does not show the accurate royalties due. I am tired and fed up with chasing the people at Xulon to rectify the situation and address my concerns. God knows the situation and I will be vindicated in due season. I will take my business elsewhere.
Desired outcome: Royalties due to out to me to be paid out.
Hi there, I received an email that another Complaint was made. I ironically received my royalty check today. In the name of Jesus I pray that your Funds be released and I bind and rebuke every spirit of Confusion that is surrounding its release... IN JESUS NAME!
Fantastic for your great news. Happy for you. It has been almost a year and I am losing hope. Clients should NOT have to make a formal complaint on a public platform for Xulon to operate with integrity and clean up their business practice.

Subject: Fw: LCC (copyright) from the Library of Congress
Prior to paying Xulon Press in full and timely to publish my book, I received timely e-mail responses to all of my questions and concerns, but now I received telephone calls from someone at Xulon with whom I never spoke with.
About July - August 7, 2020, after learning Xulon had printed the book WITHOUT the LCC (copyright) information imprinted inside the book, I contacted Jessica Brown. On August 11, 2020, she e-mailed me stating "Our team filed for your copyright certificate." Being nearly three months later, about November 22-23, 2020, I contacted Ms. Brown again and Sylvia Burleigh with no response.
On Wednesday, November 25, 2020, 11:53 a.m. a female called from 407-284-3146 (Orlando, FL) and left me a voicemail message stating "It may take one year or more with the covid-19 epidemic before you receive the certificate. If you have any questions, you may call me at [protected]." Anything could happen in a year. Most employees are fulfilling their duties by working from home. The caller also mentioned the copyright law. My concerns, as repeatedly expressed to Ms. Brown are about "Xulon printing, publishing, and distributing my book without the LCC (copyright) information that seems improper and/or illegal." Why would it take one year to obtain a certificate that had Xulon applied for the LCC timely (prior to printing) it would have taken one day, one week or less? Waiting one year for the LCC is unreasonable and unacceptable. Xulon needs to take responsibility and obtain the LCC now.
Part of the reasons I wrote the book relate to the many managers' improper and illegal employment practices who demonstrated no regard to protocol, laws, rules, regulations, and equality. Xulon Press was highly recommended by so many. Therefore, I looked for Xulon's book publishing experience to guide me through the process. Here I am again fighting for something that should not have happened.
Product and services
I too have been had by xulon press. I tried to keep a positive attitude and trust they would be up front, honest and match their hype.
I published one book with them in 2018 with few problems. However, the 2nd book, after nearly 8 months, I am sooo disappointed, disgusted, frustrated and regretful that I went with xulon press a second time.
I jumped through all the hoops to get my book published to meet my september deadline. I can't find the words to describe how unbelievably disgusted, disappointed and frustrated I am. Yes, they insist the client pay fully up front, before the book can go to press and I did - once paid... They forget about you and it!
And the ridiculous excuses they make! Sounds like the excuses from kids and they lie... This clearly shows the company is not even trying to correct the situation - I can't get return calls or emails - they changed my account team members several times - each time the service got worse - the
Employees, can't even do an adequate follow up!
Please, do yourself a favor and look elsewhere if you're wanting to publish your book!
It is not to my liking to post a complaint, I feel in this case, the company drove me to this.
I believe you, every word
Royalties not received
I am the co-author of the book Carrying Divine: My Rwanda Genocide Survivor story. (Kristin Ponce' Baker). My friend Henriette Nyirarukundu Ngenga, the heroine of the book, just contacted me to tell me she has not received any royalty payments in over two years but has been traveling and speaking and sold thousands of books. I specifically chose a CHRISTIAN organization to help my refugee friend tell her story and be compensated fairly. I am unbelievably disappointed. She has called you several times asking for help and been given horrible treatment, saying you can't find the record of her contract while you are STILL selling her book! She is getting a lawyer involved. Please call her [protected]) and rectify this issue as soon as possible before further legal action is taken. Shame on you for claiming to be a Christian organization and taking advantage of people in this way!
Xulon press is on a watchlist
DO NOT TRUST THEM

All of it
I paid this company to do a lot according to my package plus two editing processing at extra cost and they did not do much editing of the manuscript. The editors did not read my manuscript it looks like they used a type of software to do the work for them. I remember years back publishers cared about their authors, now it is all about making a buck and screw the author. I have contacted the BBB.
This company is going to do what I paid for. I would hate to take this the legal route to get resolve.
Very disappointed. Thank you for making my first time experience in publishing a nightmare.
I spent thousands of dollars (over $10, 000) to have my book published with Xulon. The finished product was horrible. I called and even wrote the manger with no reply. Over six months later I finally got an email from someone sending me to someone else to talk about my issues.
Please save your money and heartache.
stay away from Xulon.
Royalties
I published my book with Xulon press two years ago but I have yet to receive any money. They claim you keep the majority of your money which is a lie . They have a big book distributor which gets 55 percent and they receive a big chunk also. This leaves you with a dime or quarter from every book. My book was crtique. I t was in a christian magazine that went to over 5000 churches. I also did two talk radio shows. Their has been four people involved with my account . It is mighty funny none of them work there now. One lady send me a print out stating i sold over 25ooo books and 63 at the trade show. So where is my money. all they want you do is spend money on their stuff but who knows if they really market you. They are Christian publishers that are not so christian. We all should file a class action lawsuit against them
This is a request for Xulon Press to determine if your firm published a book named, "My father didn't care, so why should I," written by Lewis S. Collins II. Thanks
The same is happening to me when a 3rd party buys your book they said they would only give it to them for half price my book went for a 1 .99 that is not half of 15.00 . My books are selling so far I made 15 on 1 and 35 on the other. I do love Amazon but they helping with the rip off
Vanity press
I strongly suggest that authors stay far, far away from this company. Basically, I have flushed $4k down the toilet, not to mention my time. As many others have stated, if this is a Christian company, no wonder the world is in chaos. As a person who holds a degree in journalism and has been in the graphics business for 30 years, please take my advice.
From start to finish, the process was a horrible experience. The only person who stayed in contact was the sales rep, who called and called until I purchased the Elite package. The Xulon representative who was assigned to me after my purchase did not respond to questions in a timely manner -- if at all.
The authors "portal" was useless. The rep failed to notify me via the portal OR email that my book was ready for my first review, so it sat for two months!
The $400 extra I paid for a "professional" editing job was a joke. The editor failed to find simple mistakes and made edits that were very questionable.
The layout department was completely unprofessional. I found blatant mistake after mistake. Photos were labeled incorrectly. Text was completely out of place or duplicated. We went through rounds and rounds of edits.
When I complained about the process and asked to deal with someone other than my assigned representative, a manager became rude and obnoxious, basically blaming me for the problems.
They took the money to create the eBook version. It didn't work, but they had placed it online for sale without checking it, so I had to be the one to request that it be removed. The refund they gave me for the eBook setup was ridiculous compared to the $4k I had spent. Their answer? They had "already set the eBook up, so that cost had to be considered." (Seriously? Since when should anyone pay for products that don't work?)
After allowing the physical book to be published (and that was my fault), we continued to find mistakes and had to pull it from sales.
I've been in business for almost 20 years, and if I treated my clients this way I would wouldn't have a business. How Xulon continues with an A+ rating from the BBB is beyond me. There is no recourse with this company. It's all smoke and mirrors. They take the money, provide the least service they can provide to get by, and leave it at that.
The website states "Serving Him by Serving You." Really? I don't think mediocrity, rudeness and downright thievery is serving God's plan.
Service
I also went out on a limb and signed up with them to have a book published. Once the book: 'Gifts from the Ashes' was completed and published, NO support was available for promoting. They say once the bill is paid in full, they will be doing more. That's NOT what I was promised by their sales rep Eric Sullivan. I was told that because they are part of Salem, that it would be promoted in numerous ways. I can't even get it promoted on Crosswalk. SO, SO heartbroken. I am elderly and wrote this book 18 yrs. after my son's demise. I am handicapped and I can't tell you how many hours I spent writing this book (370 pages) and putting it together to get my son's 6 poems published and to help other Bereaved Parents. Just more additional grief. $3200 which I couldn't afford all gone. They say they are Christian. I see no difference between their 'fruit' and that of a swindler. So, so sad.
In addition, I only receive about $4 on each book sold...Again...NOT AT ALL the way it was represented.
Dear Xulon:
I need some help. I need to know what books I have with you, four I believe, and what the cost4 is for each.
Thank you. God bless.

They do so little for so much money. They tell you if you want to have your book to sell you have to spend more money to get the word out. But your book doesn't sell. I question their business and accounting practices. I in fact filed a complaint with the BBB and the FBI. Which I recommend everyone doing.
Very bad company**buyer beware
Xulon Press does care only about money...the company lied to me telling me they'd add in pages before publishing and then released the book without my approval to the public with blank pages! I am completely outraged***a friend referred me to them to entrust my ministry to them of poetry and I am so deeply disappointed that I am hiring a lawyer especially since the company never admitted any blame for their actions which is flat out non-Christian...on top of that, the company refused to resend the supposed "free books" to me with the corrected pages later and told me "the problem was fixed" when several readers reported to me that the supposed "updated copies" posted online were NEVER updated and the pages are still blank in the books published by Xulon. DO NOT USE THIS COMPANY FOR PUBLISHING EVER OR KEEP A LAWYER'S NAME HANDY IN CASE YOU DO!
Very true...bait and switch
I spent almost $12, 000 with Zulon and I have 3 boxes of books in my closet. It turned out so bad ie, faded ink on pages, no index, and lies, lies lies.
No direction and if I did happen to get someone to guide me for a minute, next thing I know they are no longer with Xulon.
I hoped a Christian company would not be this bad but...sorry to say, it is BAD.
Please stay away, do you research.

I searched this company and found there are several complaints concerning this company’s bate and switch policy and the cancel order policy. I placed an order and called the next day requesting cancellation. The company refused. I and my husband expressed our complaint concerning the fraudulent practice of this company. I was not surprised to find several...
