In todays world Artificial Intelligence supposedly made work easier for Yahoo and Social Medias but in my opinion has caused hate to increase instead of decreasing. It seems people can write as much fake news as they want and it's OK but to write the truth you are tagged as hate, against policy and a list of everything else but pea soup!

For instance I can only guess my statement I will attach was something against Yahoo Policy. Was it a simple fact that Putin is a "monster" for what he has done to the children of Ukraine? I've seen worse in your articles! Was it because I reported a fact from Ukraine reported on video Yahoo won't see till tomorrow? It is a fact a video was released from ASTOV today saying they still had food for seven days. Is that fact the cause for commenting to be "contains content that is in breach of our community guidelines."?

Artificial Intelligence is just that! Artificial! Which can not think or comprehend meaning only rejection! Sadly this is only one of many statements rejected by Yahoo that only angers myself and others when trying to convey a simple truth or fact while so many of their articles have been proven fake news. Where can we reject their fake news articles in all fairness? Too many have ended up being racially divisive which I thought would never have happened! Yahoo has turned the clock back 59 years! For new readership!

I do have one last pet peeve with Yahoo rejections! It seems you can no longer make the same words in an article which has everything to do with the article or lets say what another article is about. Which is the word Nazi! Do you know how many rejections or holds I have had just by making statements on HISTORY? Yes history is against community policy today! You force rewrites of a statement until it looks like someone is writing in code just to make sure AI will finally let a comment through. I tried to warn people about the White Supremacist ploy Putin had been filtering into the Baltics, UK and US but my statements were banned because of WORDS that when said separate is OK but together is hate? Give me a break people! No wonder Putin had won that part of the war because you helped him! Frankly I'm more embarrassed for our children because we can't learn to work together with history, facts and the present!

Desired outcome: I hope this will be left on your board or theirs for others to read the lunacy Yahoo prescribes as fair. The world isn't ready for Artificial Intelligence at that low of scale!

Comically I had attached the rejection which used the word monster when depicting Putin and I also gave an update which will appear in tomorrows news outlets because the US is so slow on facts. What is the News? Per Ukraine Government media which the US finally said was posting facts showed the civilians in Astrov and said they had 7 days of food left which is good because they can stretch it out. But it looks like it was a double rejection probably because it would embarrass Yahoo if shown.

Yahoo is awful. They don't like any opinions that go against their beliefs. I just said "sleepy joe" and my comment got rejected. They are terrible and whoever reads them to see if it is "against their guidelines" is nothing but a bunch of babies who don't know how to take others' opinions.

To test Yahoo "Moderator" censorship, I typed the alphabet letters, "A,B,C,D..." and submitted as comments following an arbitrary Yahoo posted article. Minutes later, I received an email from Yahoo stating that my comments were Rejected and did not follow Community Guidelines!

Is there a list of words to avoid? The last thing I want, is to come across and hateful, or abusive. I simply wish to get my point across, and sometimes spark a healthy debate.

I got rejected for confronting a Russian troll who has figured out how to post thousands of posts on every article about Ukraine. I did it by copying and pasting my comment on every post by the troll in 2 articles. So that was dumb on my part. Now I can’t post that I like to put carrots in a recipe as a comment.

So troll just roll along posting tons of AÍ generated content, but I can’t even opost the most menial or positive comments. Not certain how long that will last.

I am a bit confused as to why such a benign comment would get rejected. This was amicable and polite. Why are such innocent efforts at polite discourse being rejected?

That's what they want. To stop the truth. Yahoo did the same thing to me and I stopped commenting all together. I'd love to get rid of Yahoo. Any ideas?

The same started happening to me today. I've got 18K+ positive reactions to 3500 or so posts, so I know how to say the right things in the right way. I push back when someone posts something offensive (or report it), but I typically write an informed, researched opinion of the topic at hand. But today Yahoo started rejecting any comment I make. It started when I replied "That's utterly and unequivocally false" to a post which was...well...utterly and unequivocally false! I hadn't tried something rude and edited it after rejection, that was the original wording! Ever since that post, literally everything I post, however benign, is immediately rejected. Too bad there isn't anyone to complain to. I'd surely like to know what it is that they don't like about my participation.

Like so many others here, it seems as though once I had one comment rejected (and while I can't remember what that first rejected comment was, I know it wasn't hateful or threatening in any way), they are now all rejected. Today I did a little test and here are the results... *face palm*

Every comment I write is rejected the moment I hit enter, I typed word for word a comment that was published and mine was rejected, I then paraphrased a comment and the same happened. their guidelines for comments are not being enforced as long as the person commenting is violating the rules against those who don't follow the liberal agenda, sad Yahoo is now just a propaganda machine for the liberals. Censorship way out of control

Wrong! I am a left leaning democrat who often posts comments in support of trans rights and BLM, as of three days ago every comment I write is rejected the moment I hit enter. So as much as you might want to be a victim of some vast "liberal media" conspiracy, it just ain't so.

[I sent my comment to appea] I am a researcher and for the last couple of years, I've presented unbiased, plain facts in Yahoo Comments. Yahoo's Comment Guidelines forbid referring to competitive websites, yet arbitrarily, i.e. on some days and not on others, anything and everything ".gov" is immediately rejected. Reference to government websites incurs rejections even if all I do is post the title of a government case file, the title of an explanation from the Congressional Record or the Federal Register, the plain English title of a government website, and so forth. On other days I can provide useful government information all day long with no problem. Since when is our government competing with Yahoo? Most Americans have no clue about the amount of US government information that is instantly available online. I've attached today's rejection.

I am also having that issue right now. First I thought maybe a particular person as blocked me from talking to them, so I replied to another person instead, nope, flagged. So then I tried to make a new comment, nope flagged. Also tried simply saying short clean sentences, and only saying "Hi". Nothing i post on that will go through, while i was previously having a conversation with people.

To clarify further I went to OpenWeb an looked through their help section and found that they simply turn it around back on yahoo. Saying to see the yahoo policy on process for escalating community moderation decisions. MY COMPLAINT IS THERE IS NOT ONE.

We need to be able to either get an explanation for blocked comments, (other than see TOS) and a way to dispute the decision. My comments were clean while the other guy is on there name calling everyone that he doesn't agree with.

I could not agree with you more. It borders on almost comical if it didn't actually anger me. I mean in the big scheme of things and life, I've got more important things to worry about but it can be infuriating when you know that you didn't say anything derogatory towards anyone, no foul words and in this last instance it didn't even really point to one political party or another. It was a comment on an article about crime stats. No one individual, political party, nothing was mentioned, nothing hateful, harmful and quite frankly based on valid points and facts. And I love how you just get the canned "goes against community standards" and you can appeal. Well hilarious cause the whole comment was rejected before any living human could read the first 2 words and the "appeal" option well that appeal was rejected even quicker. The funny thing is I was agreeing with someone's comments and just for fun, I dumbed my comment down to almost the point of feeling my comment was written in a very uneducated manner but basically said the same thing and it went through. But then I see some comments from others that while I might not say them or in that manner and of course wouldn't bother me (cause I'm not thinned skinned or looking for something to be offended about) and they seem to make it passed these Yahoos (pun intended). It's really quite ridiculous.

So true! I'm the originator of thread and have since been blocked from Yahoo. Haha Also contract specialist so I bounce back and forth in writing from technical to 7th grade level for our readership. It's not actually possible for a class action since it's a free service. Well if you pay you possibly could.

Where the problem is with Yahoo is their contracted service they use "OpenWeb." The service began as a business in 2014 probably for less than a million dollars however it became what is called a "Unicorn" by 2022 meaning it topped a billion dollars. They also service about all other news sites today. I found it odd how they contracted after all the chaos in 2020. All comment sections had been closed because bots had taken over then presto they were rolling in contracts. Strange isn't it? From no contracts then total chaos to rolling in the money. Follow the bouncing ball! Their original website was located in Isle of Man which at the time of Russian Ukrainian war we found out all the Russian Oligarchs had registered their aircraft and yachts there. After learning of this they switched to their new website.

Yahoo's recent draconian censorship is against free speech despite lack of hate, false or misleading information. People who care to imprint their genuine opinions have the right to appeal against unjust rejection of thoughts and ideas, especially when they are within the general norms of social media civility. If they are using an AI moderator, it is woefully biased or underperforming. And denial of appeal process is highly condemnable.

Consider the following comment with a layman's explanation for a highly obvious scientific concept:
This comment was in response to the following Yahoo topic published on Yahoo life:

"Hot people complain about the ‘horrible experience’ of being good-looking"

My comment Posted 22 hours ago (September 24, 2024)
Life is all about food energy, sex and then survival, in that order. Transmission of genetic information is paramount because that seem to be the primary purpose of all life on the planet, making changes to their ecosystem is only to enhance their reproductive abilities. Without the appeal of the opposite sex the whole purpose of life would be in jeopardy. Without the hardcoded hormones, no amount of beauty would be appealing or attractive and the genetic transfer of information will not happen. That is why nature has installed so many fail-safe mechanisms so that organisms carry on the procreation of their respective species. For example, think about this: only one sperm is required to fertilize one egg, but many millions of sperms are produced at a time to achieve fertilization of a single egg, and even this provision does not work most of the time. Remember all living things share complex sequences of DNA /RNA regardless of how they look. Therefore, without hormones the attractive nature of the opposite sex will not work, and if that attraction does not happen, that species will not reproduce and will become extinct. Just because of our convenience or inconvenience, we cannot change the rules of nature.

In what is my above comment a violation of community guidelines? This is outrageous. Even reporting outrageous human rights abuses by certain elite groups across the globe is also being considered a violation by Yahoo moderators.

I commented: I'm into wt chocolate, not dk chocolate. It got rejected! But, on a different article comments I saw a video of a penis! But, it was a comment against conservatives. Yahoo is a completely out loud BIAS against ANY conservative comments, or just plain comments on chocolate! Yahoo sucks and is extremely FAKE.

I seem to be on the "s" list as well. Haven't been able to comment for more than a month. Apparently, some one(s) didn't like what I was saying, even though I was within the guidelines, so Yahoo has rejected me summarily. I have appealed, as suggested, and have heard nothing. Hence, their appeal aparatus is inoperable. Other than making me distressed, I think that yahoo has lost out on good comments.
