Yahoo! Account log in / help

Aug 30, 2022 @ approximately 2:00 pm

I couldn't log into one of my accounts on Yahoo, even through I know the pass word. Yahoo wants me to verify who I am... what the F? Because THEY have the wrong ph# than the one I've had for the last 5 years. I can't long in. I know my ph#, I wouldn't put in the wrong number YAHOO! I call them and tell them what's going on. This lady that can barely speak English what's to verify who I am through a ID, but the scanner thing they send me to scan my ID doesn't work. And because of this they have no way to help me they say... WHAT THE F ? This is BS! I told the lady this wasn't Fort Knox we were running over here... its an E-Mail account. They refuse to help me. I will be closing my other account I've since the day of time because of the service they couldn't / wouldn't give me for the other account.

Customer service sucks.

Good luck to whoever chooses to stay.

Yahoo! Offensive and disgusting emails that are being emailed to me daily.

Every day I receive disgusting and deeply offensive emails which I cannot block as there are no email addresses. They all start with offensive swear words such as "f*** and the whole title is offensive and can be read by my young children doing their homework on my laptop.

These words should be automatically blocked from being sent out unsolicited.

Any email with such filth should be automatically blocked by Yahoo.

Desired outcome: Block emails with offensive titles automatically

Yahoo! AI based (or so impressed) comment rejection

I wrote a humorous (by any standard) comment, and was rejected by Yahoo, apparently based solely on terminology.

The article was about WHO considering renaming "Monkeypox" as to not offend anybody.

My comment was as follows :

"Black plague. No.

Yellow fever. No.

Smallpox. No. (bulk discrimination)

Cholera. No. (discrimination against green people)

OK. How about Manpox? No. (sexism)

How about PPAP pox?

Primate Person Ape People pox?

Pikotaro, so precient."

I hope some people remember the global "Pen Pineapple Apple Pen" (PPAP) craze a few years ago by Pikotaro.

I have no idea which word triggered the rejection.

Need clarification on acceptability.

At least admit it is a vocabulary filter, not a true AI program.

Desired outcome: The notice I received from Yahoo was only "rejected" with no reason why. Please tell us what crossed your red line.

Yahoo! News

Constant misleading headlines e.g. World in shock after stars tragic news. More often and not the person is not a star today it was a similar headline and it was about the president of some NFL team. In no way a star. Most often it is about a 5 rate actor who very few have heard of and if it is about a known person the story relates to their 15th cousin 100 times removed getting a splinter in their finger. This happens several times a day.

Desired outcome: More factual advertising

Yahoo! comments

Why was my comment rejected? There was nothing inflammatory about it and no personal attacks. It started off, "So, you object to a bill that benefits seniors and the middle class and is paid for?" Then I went on to compare the IRA bill with Trump's TCJA. When it was flagged that there might be a problem, I looked the whole thing over and saw nothing wrong. I had said that the middle class tax cuts were "dwarfed" by the others, so I changed that, thinking that the word "dwarfed" might have been misunderstood and tried again. Then it was simply rejected. No other chance to edit, not sent for approval, nothing. Surely a company like Yahoo can do better than this.

Desired outcome: I would like for someone to explain exactly what caused my comment to be rejected. A normal person cannot fathom this answer, so I ask you.

Repeatedly yahoo has denied my comments. Anything to do with illegals or my dirty town and homeless people. I like other posts on here got denied because of a reference to what they consider a business reference. So now u can’t say Medicare?

I also got denied asking if I need to change my cats name and breed since now monkey pox is considered racist.

My cats name is Monkeybear and he’s a mainecoon.

They wouldn’t even post it.

This is out of control.

New World Order is definitely here.

Can’t also post about smartmeters website and how dangerous they are. Controling your life heat and air conditioning. They start fires and are unsafe.

It seems like homeless and illegals have more rights than Americans.

Yahoo! Yahoo article comments unfairly rejected

Yahoo is overcensoring!

I was posting the following in my protest against the one drop rule in response to a comment that was made about a Dominican actress that was cast as Batgirl, and it got rejected. There was nothing offensive about my comment. I just explained my genealogical ancestry.

This was my comment that got rejected for not aligning with yahoo Community Guidelines:

My Genealogical Ancestry

paternal grandfather: African American born in Louisiana

paternal grandmother's father: African American born in Southern Louisiana

other roots in Virginia, South Carolina, and Kentucky

paternal grandmother's mother: African American with English and Acadian (French in what now known as Nova Scotia) born in Southern Louisiana

colonial roots in Louisiana, Virginia, and North Carolina

maternal grandfather's father: American born in California and son of immigrants from Cape Verde (Portuguese and Sub Saharan African)

maternal grandfather's mother: American born in California with a father from Puerto Rico (Spanish, Sub Saharan African, and Taino) and mother that was Hawaiian born daughter of immigrants from Madeira (Portuguese with Sub Saharan African)

maternal grandmother's father: European American born in Oregon of mainly English ancestry with German, Swiss, Scottish, Irish, Welsh, Dutch, and Frisian

colonial roots in Virginia, West Virginia, Pennsylvania, North Carolina, Connecticut, New York, New Jersey, and Rhode Island

other roots in Missouri, Kansas, Alabama, Illinois, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana

maternal grandmother's mother: Ashkenazi Jewish American born in Nebraska with father immigrated from Romania and mother immigrated from Courland (in what is now known as Latvia) in Russian Empire

Yahoo! Biased news

https://uk.news.yahoo.com/letters-whoever-wins-scotland-still-040000980.html

Scotland had a referendum in 2014. The decisive vote was to stay as part of UK.

This article is no more than biased letters from angry separatists posing as "news"

There is no substantial data to back a change of attitude, and this is lazy, damaging work.

At best this is propaganda, at worst this is scaremongering and damaging to Scotland's economy as businesses will loo elsewhere to invest

Desired outcome: Non-biased reporting, removal of 'article'

Yahoo! Nextshark news by yahoo

South Korean news talking about korean defectors being dragged back at border sparks condemnation from seoul.

I tried make comment about this incident. they are talking about these defectors killing 16 people. However there is no evidence presented. All evidence was cleaned by previous government and all evidence was closed to public.

My comment was rejected automatically and one photo showing wrong picture of boat telling others that it happen on that ship. The ship is much much small.

All comments are leading to 2 defectors killed 16 people on board and it is OK to send them back to North Korea. Those 2 people came to South Korea for freedom. Now with out any evidence they were sent back for excution.

Desired outcome: The news is leading somehow to make justification sending back 2 North Korean defectors with comments leading it is right thing to do.

Wrongfully blocked for posting facts falsely claiming they violated community standards. I am unable to respond to replies to my existing posts. If I am not allowed to respond after being wrongfully blocked no one should be able to reply to previous posts without my ability to counter. Your policies blocking verifiable facts are very unfair and there should be an arbitration system to correct this.

Yep, same here. My comment was rejected when I tried to mention a study reported recently in a well-respected medical publication regarding the efficacy of natural immunity. This was in response to the slanders thrown against a certain professional athlete for his vaccine stance, with one person going so far as to say he was spreading Covid lies. Yahoo allowed these blatant false and unsubstantiated accusations but rejected the facts I tried to present. I cited the title of the article and name of the publisher. No matter. I was cancelled while the slanderers were allowed to continue to spread misinformation. Reducing the toxicity my [censored].

Same here. Orwellian censors by Yahoo which hates free speech and America. They target you through your email address. Congress will hopefully address this after the November elections and allow lawsuits against Facebook, Google, You Tube. and Twitter by getting rid of 230 rule.

Yahoo! yahoo mail account access

i called to help access my email account. i answered various questions which the agent kept asking me to spell out. the questions became more intrusive and were frankly impertinent. After 12 minutes we'd not completed the security questions despite giving my full name, current and past addresses, confirming some sub folder names. and confirming six mail recipients. i asked that i speak to a manager then asked to raise a complaint, the agent ended the call after telling me to access the website

Desired outcome: call to resolve issues please?

Yahoo! Yahoo mail

I've had yahoo mail for many years. Recently, early every morning 6-8 junk emails are put in my Inbox. I then go to each one and click to block sender. These are obvious spam emails with long strings of unreadable letters. For years, up until just recently these types of emails only came occasionally and were sent directly to the Trash folder. Apparently now yahoo feels spam belongs in the Inbox folder and not the trash folder. Is there a problem at Yahoo mail or is this dedicated effort by Yahoo to sell their paid services? There used to be customer support and user forums that could answers these questions, but no more.

Desired outcome: Fix the problem, filtering worked before on Yahoo mail. Whats broken now?

WHY has Yahoo dropped this simple service of blocking spam senders' addresses so we do not get them repeatedly, day after day. Makes no sense as to why this has been done. Very unhappy customer and more so in that it is IMPOSSIBLE to contact anyone at Yahoo about this problem. Would appreciate your company fixing this simple problem as it was beforehand.

Yahoo! Yahoo news

I'm so sick of trying to read some daily news and all you report is bad news about the conservatives or President Trump or the sickening things Whoopie or Joy say daily, I'm trying to move my email to gmail because I've come to hate Yahoo. I think you are losing a lot of your customers. It's always bad things about Trump or bad things about anyone of the popular conservatives. I never saw one negative thing about Hillary and her fake accusations against Trump and Russia and nothing about negative about Hunter but let a conservative do one little thing and you are all over it. Peter Doocy is always on your list too.

Desired outcome: A little more fairness you know darn well that Bidens polls are very low yet you lift him up like he is one of the best and most popular presidents. He's not and you need to do some honest reporting.

Yahoo! Poor Service and Poor Customer Service

Horrible experience with Yahoo! They locked my elderly relative out of his mail account and we spent 4 hours over 2 days trying to get it reset. When we called, the reps said we had to give them his driver's license number. I asked each customer service rep where they were calling from and and they are all based in the Phillipines. Why would my relative give his DL number to someone he doesn't know and doesn't live in this country? We tried to ask for the mobile number connected to the account to be chnaged so he ould reset his password (presumably the easiest solution) but they wanted the DL number first. Is this a SCAM? Feels like it!

Desired outcome: Reset password

Yahoo! "Laser Torch" push advertised on Yahoo

Yahoo Push advertising offered a "laser Torch" 3000 Mw Blue Laser kit in solid aluminum case with multiple tips. A full video showed how powerful and eay to start a campfire with this device. The company offering this device is Idistil and they were showing a special "50% discount deal through Yahoo which seemed to legitimize the offer. I researched the product and found it available at full price through several other sources. I ordered a two for one deal and after about 45 days received a cheap cardboard boxed pair of $6 cheap Chinese Purple laser pointers with 100 Mw of power. When I demanded my money back through the site, they began a bait and switch campaign offering first a 10% refund, then 20%, 25%, 40%, 50% and made all kinds of excuses (see attached email string), all the while apologizing but not explaining the totally different product that I was shipped-and trying to convince me that it was to MY BENEFIT to keep the crap they sent me and be thrilled with a 50% refund.

Desired outcome: Please get me a full refund and take this website and company down from amongst the legitimate advertind vendors pushed by Yahoo.

Yahoo! Why you publish so many Republican histories?

What about stories about decent and even heroic minorities. Do you forget about us too? Why you took their side and publish so many Republican stories. Why don’t help us? They want to exterminate us. Are you with them? Please help us.

There are more positive comments and stories on yahoo for left leaning people than right.

I did a little experiment on Yahoo as I've used their service since they started and I wanted to rule out my own biases. So with 3 accounts I posted comments on stories. 1 account was all left leaning comments, 1 account all right leaning, 3rd account neutral for a base. I posted comments on the same articles with all 3 accounts for over a week.

The results showed 90% of right leaning posts were rejected within minutes(if not instantly) some rejects hours later.

90% of left leaning posts were allowed(many were identical in wording except changing the target party) the neutral account anything remotely right leaning was either delayed or rejected.

So if anything Yahoo favors minorities and anything left leaning not matter how vile and vulgar
