Migration kit pro
Purchased Zinstall Pro on February 4, 2023 to migrate my c: drive on my old 500 GB SSD drive to the new 2 TB SSD drive installed in the same computer. I am currently running Windows 10 and I had to upgrade due to the capacity of the drive could no longer hold all of the app files (especially the Adobe Creative Cloud Suite app files). The total free space on that drive was less than 39 GB, far below the minimum needed by the apps (especially Photoshop) to work at all.
Was not able to initially do the migration directly due to the target drive was grayed out. I was able to migrate the drive to a 512 GB USB3 memory stick, then use that stick as the source to migrate the files to the 2 TB drive. All of the files were transferred to the new drive, but when I attempted to boot up using the new drive as the c: drive, it only booted up using the version of Windows 10 that had initially been installed on it. There seems to be no way for that version of Windows to recognize that the files from the old drive were there. I followed their instructions including temporarily disabling my virus protection software temporarily.
Needless to say, until I can get the computer to work using the new drive, I’m limited to only the apps that are working, but not the apps I use for my job. (I’m a photographer and graphic designer). Migrating Window-based drives has always been a problem, especially when the goal is to migrate all files including the apps. My laptop is a Apple MacBook Pro which I recently upgraded to from my old Mac laptop. The migration process there was easy and withing three hours’ time, I was able to do my work on it with no issues. The reason for my purchasing Zinstall was the claim that it could do the same for my Windows computer that I could do with my Mac.
I have tried numerous times to contact them to help correct the problem including using their “start new case” online form, email contact, and calling them both to their support team and sales. In all cases, I never heard from them. In the meantime I have spent almost $200 on this software with no resolution to this problem.
I am also curious about whether the companies which they claim on their website have used their software have filed similar complaints. All of the complaints that I have seen have been from private individuals. Does this mean that they may be treating us as second class users? True good customer service means that all who use their services and products should be treated equally and with respect.
Desired outcome: I deally would like them to contact me me resolve this issue. The only other recourse is for me to request a full refund of what I paid them.

I used their software to transfer a number of diagnostic programs from an old computer to a newer one. The software did not transfer all programs and none of the saved passwords. I contacted the company, nothing,. I called and was told someone would call back. Nothing. DO NOT use this company! Their website does not even mention a return/refund policy because they don't plan to give you your money back when their software doesn't work.
Desired outcome: Refund. Warn other consumers not to get ripped off by these thieves.
Zinstall
I have spent almost 40 hours over the past several days trying to create a backup of my old computer so that I can restore the backup to my new computer. Despite all my efforts (and time spent with support) I have not been able to create the zinstall backup.
At this time, I think you should either 'fix this problem' or give me my money back so that I can try something else

winwin
Stay away from this product. It is a huge waste of time and will not work if you don't have ethernet ports on your laptops. In their ads, they say it will work with a WiFi connection, but when you attempt to do that, they give a warning that it probably won't work over WiFi and they recommend against it.
Additionally, they make it impossible to get a refund. $131.00 flushed down the toilet.
Desired outcome: Refund

On January 12, 2019, I purchased 3 copies of Zinstall Pro for $338.00 to remote transfer: files, software, settings, etc. (like they advertise) of 3 older Windows 10 computers to 3 brand new Dell Windows 10 Desktop computers.
After the "Migration"
Files and registry entries were corrupt, Windows entries were duplicated with different dates (not just the .old), Office 2016 would not accept the new licenses we bought from Microsoft and we were unable to completely uninstall Office, the HP printer drivers did not work and again we were unable to completely uninstall these drivers. Our medical software failed to work and reinstalling it was impossible.
After spending hours and days on the phone and chat with Dell, Microsoft and HP I had to reinstall the Windows 10 operating system and start from scratch without the use of Zinstall Pro. I had to rebuild these 2 computers manually the old way, duplicating data one step at a time until finished.
This software was a nightmare! It took a 3 day job and turned it into weeks, I am very disappointed in this product and it caused me to deliver my product late to my client.
I am an IT Professional specializing in medical and I thought I would I try this product because they touted how easy and seamless this works. It was anything but easy and seamless.
I requested a refund and I was told NO because the machine migrated. This is a rip-off company - Stay Away!
Zinstall winwin
I purchased this software online from zinstall on 11/22/16. I followed the instructions, hooked my laptop up to my new desktop computer and started the transfer. It took five days! After the transfer there were some issues I had to deal with. I tried backing up the computer and the backup would not work. I hired a computer repair/trouble shooting tech company and gave them access to my computer. They found a lot of problems and now I have to take my computer to them and leave it for two days while they reformat the harddrive and then download the files and programs. This software definitely has bugs. I can kick myself for not listening to all of the negative reviews. With all of the tech help, the cost of the software, and now the reformatting, it cost me hundreds of dollars. Not to mention the time wasted on trying to fix the problem and the aggravation. Go ahead and buy this software and go through what I did or you can get smart and let a tech handle the transfer for you. From the invoice it looks like this company is overseas.
Refusal of Refund
I purchased ZInstall HDD for $49, but it did not work, it did not transfer any of my applications. I contacted ZInstall who told me I had purchased the wrong product, because apparently one of my drives is a solid state drive (SDD). They said I should have purchased the Zinstall Computer Rescue Kit, which is $169. But I am not rescuing a broken hard drive that it states as the product's purpose is on their website, so I feel the product is misnamed and having to pay more that 3 times the price is a bait-and-switch tactic in my opinion. So I asked ZInstall for a refund based on their advertised 100% guarantee, but they gave me the runaround and have not answered my refund request which I have made 4 times.

I fell into exactly the same trap!
For a start, I had lots of trouble getting the old and new computers to connect with each other via Ethernet cable, and also in disabling all the antivirus/firewall programs, only then to find that Zinstall WinWin doesn't work if your new computer has Windows pre-installed on a Solid State Drive. A pretty poor show since it's very common these days for manufacturers to put Windows on a separate small SSD in order to give fast boot-up times. Eventually I've been given the option to upgrade (at additional price) to Zinstall Rescue Kit which will supposedly handle SSDs and HDDs in one system.
I shall probably just bite the bullet and purchase the upgrade, since the original WinWin purchase would be completely wasted otherwise. I must say that I feel rather cheated by the whole experience, as these programs are very expensive and are only "single-use".
Zinstall should put a clear indication on their website that their WinWin application is not suitable for systems with SSDs.
software fails
Avoid Zinstall at all costs!
I have installed the software and it fails to work each time.
The sugested fix is to completely uninstall my firewall and virus protection then connect to internet.
This is both stupid and irresponsible advice from zinstall a smy pc would be vulnerable to any hacker in range.
As soon as I ask for a refund, Zinstall no longer reply to emails but are now sending "pretend" auto responses.
The software does not work, the company are totally unhelpful, save your money and buy something else.
Zinstall will rip you off.

I purchased a program from zinstall.com to copy all data from my old hard drive (xp) to windows7, which is not compatable, but iwas told this program will work at a cost of $139.00 us, on their website, it stated
that if the program did not work, all monies refunded, after about 3 weeks of trying different ways, the program did not work, so i requested a refund, the customer care rep, barry godwin took on the case and found a
loop hole in the legal contract to deny the refund, when i first approached them, i told them that my old computer crashed due to mother board malfuntion, and i had taken the old hd.out and put it into the new
computer and attempted to transfer all data from the old hd.to the new one, no go, in their fine print states that if the old computer malfuntions IN ANY WAY, the warranty is void, so i have donated $139.00 to their company free of charge.so if you tell the truth with this crowd, you lose big time, so DO NOT USE OR GO NEAR ZINSTALL .COM or you will get ripped off.
i approached my bank and they checked out the contract(in very small print) all legal but you must look very very closely to check it out.
KEEP AWAY, DONOT USE THIS PROGRAM.

I've been ripped off too. They did the same thing to me. Blocked my number from me being able to call them. When I did, I let them know I had not downloaded anything ... I immediately contacted them with emails that it was a mistake and I wanted my money back. Of course, he wouldn't help me unless I filled out their tech support form which had absolutely nothing to do with my wanting a refund on a program I did not want or need. He refused to help me unless I filled out the form and clicked the accept button on the bottom of the form. So... now he says that I had accepted it which I did not. I even told him before I clicked on it that I didn't trust him. Fool that I am. He told me at that time that he would have tech support call me. Never did... I've never been able to get a phone call from anyone nor a return email. Just threats. When I told him I was reporting this scam to my local police dept, he looked up my sheriff's phone number and address and said he called him. hahahah... I called the sheriff and of course this scam artist lied about that too. Now, I'm going to take it to the attorney generals office to make sure there is some way to catch this thief. I believe bad things will happen to those the prey on others. I wish I would never had clicked on that website. BE WARE EVERYONE! You'll get scammed for certain.
