I am a student and always wanted to join a gym near school so I was approached by one of the guys that work at Zone Fitness and he took me to the gym, this was June 2022 he took me to the gym and showed me around while telling me about the gym … which was obviously lies. He said the first months is free just for me to see whether I like their facility and all. He said if I want to cancel I’ll have to pay for the current month in which I’m in order to do so

When I moved from the location near the gym I went to cancel the contract… because I didn’t know where or how to do so I called the guy and left him a message and he did not answer his phone or reply to my messages

I decided to go to the gym to cancel for myself. First of all the receptionist was rude and took time to let me in. I got assisted by this rude lady again who said my cancellation for is R860 which I did not know about

Then I asked her to pose the account for the time being which she did not because they called me this month to threaten me saying I’m on my fourth month owing and in December they will hand me to their lawyers. They were calling me with different numbers and assistants every one week until my boyfriend answered the phone and I was surprised when they were apologising to him whilst with me they were rude…

Today I’m still in debt please no one should join that gym. They say I owe them R1290

Desired outcome: I would like to cancel my contract please.
