Site usability is wonderful. I am fully aware I am overpaying, but that's the tradeoff for getting access to all the sellers on your site, knowing they are vetted, and there is hopefully some protection in the event of an inauthentic painting.

Lovely items from all over the world! Pricing can be quite high for many of the items. Otherwise, I would purchase more. I do tend to purchase from Chairish more than 1stDibs as Sellers' pricing seems, at times, more reasonable. 1stDib Sellers do respond to questions in a timely manner.

1stdibs is a standout, as an e-commerce site, for offering some of, it not, the BEST high-quality, antique and luxury items.

The website is a great e-commerce platform: first, it's design is visually a standout; how it presents items, ability to communicate with a Seller, and, the process to complete a purchase.

No adverse experiences, whether an inquiry to a Seller or a completed purchase, has, yet, to be encountered.

Prices are in-line with the quality of items offered, but, with many Sellers allowing for Offers to be placed, it is a highly, recommended venue to check-out - when seeking that unique, one-of-a kind item.

I am an artist dealer and collector on 1stDibs. I have found authentic Hudson River school paintings for sale at reasonable prices. All art dealers are verified which gives me confidence shopping here.
It is a luxury items ecommerce website that offers the convenience of never leaving home to find extraordinary, sometimes rare, quality authentic items. I have shopped at this site and was never disappointed by it's professional and easy design. It's like looking at Town and Country magazine, however with options to buy directly from dealers. This is the reason the prices are higher and I do not mind that if I know I am getting authentic, quality rare works that are sold from verified dealers. And there are many sales and deals! It is not true that items cannot be returned. Every seller I have encountered has a generous, no questions asked, 2 week return policy. If you are looking for quality artworks, verified sellers and great deals, look no further.

1stdibs.com Disappointed with 1stDibs: Unsightly marks on table top and poor customer service

I recently made a purchase on 1stDibs, a website that sells high-end furniture and decor. I was excited to receive my new table from a seller called Green Apple, but when it arrived, I was disappointed to see that it had unsightly marks on the table top. It looked as if a first grader had taken a black magic marker to it! I immediately contacted 1stDibs to complain and asked them if this was normal. They agreed with me that it was not.

The next day, however, I received a response from 1stDibs saying that the seller had told them that the marks were natural parts of burned Oak. I don't know if that's true or not, but it doesn't really matter. The fact is that the table arrived with marks that were not visible in the photos on the website, and the product did not arrive as described.

I believe that the sellers on 1stDibs have an obligation to send pictures of the product prior to shipping it, especially if there are unsightly marks like this. Additionally, the table top was advertised as lacquered, but it was extremely rough to the touch. A properly lacquered table top should be smooth, not rough. I don't think it's fair that I should have to pay for shipping and a 25 percent restocking fee when the product did not arrive as described.

I am very disappointed with 1stDibs and will never do business with them again. They seem to consistently protect the interests of the seller, rather than the customer. When I was younger, I was always told that the customer comes first. It's a shame that times have changed. I would advise anyone looking to purchase high-end furniture or decor to buy local instead.

1stdibs.com Disappointing Experience with 1stDibs: Poor Customer Service and Lack of Accountability

I recently had an experience with 1stDibs that left me feeling extremely frustrated and disappointed. I had ordered a ring from them and specifically requested that it be delivered before I left town for a week. They assured me that it would be delivered on time, but unfortunately, that was not the case.

Despite having Ring Doorbell footage that clearly showed USPS delivering a package that day, there was no sign of FedEx, who claimed that I had signed for the delivery (even though I was out of town at the time). I provided 1stDibs with the Ring Doorbell footage, as well as my plane and hotel itineraries as proof, but they told me that FedEx had denied the claim and that the only thing I could do was file a police report for theft.

I was extremely frustrated by this response. How could I claim that something was stolen if it was never received in the first place? And how could 1stDibs not care that I had paid them for something that I never received? It seemed like they were more interested in protecting their relationship with FedEx than in helping their customers.

Overall, I would not recommend purchasing anything from 1stDibs. Their customer service is lacking, and they seem more interested in protecting their own interests than in ensuring that their customers are satisfied. If you're looking for a reliable and trustworthy online retailer, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

1stdibs.com 1stDibs: A Sketchy and Disappointing Experience - Don't Waste Your Money Here

So, I was trying to buy an Eames chair from 1stDibs for a whopping 11k. The seller gave me a shipping time and quote before I made the purchase. As the expected delivery date was getting closer, all of a sudden the "drivers van" broke down with a "broken axle". The seller claimed he was in Chicago and made me wait another 2 weeks. When the second delivery date neared, the "truck broke down again in Colorado". I was getting really frustrated with all these delays and decided to contact the seller. The seller claimed that the truck had just left LA, but I knew he was lying.

I decided to contact 1stDibs support and they engaged a "new driver". Suddenly, they handed over the item in Portland to their driver. I was relieved that the item was finally on its way, but when I pressed them for a date and time of delivery, the "driver" called and said it would arrive in the evening. An hour later, he called again and claimed that he could only arrive at midnight due to road closures along the way! At this point, I had severe doubts about the legitimacy of 1stDibs and their sellers. I called them out in the chat for their lies and they basically admitted that they lied to me from the get-go about the shipment.

I was really disappointed and felt like I had been scammed. I asked for an immediate refund and put a fraud claim in with my bank. I think this is a scam place and unfortunately, I did not check here earlier. I would not recommend this place to anyone and I certainly won't be using it again. It's really sketchy and I assume they never had the item in possession or they are dealing with contraband and forgeries of high-value items. It's just not worth the risk.

1stdibs.com 1st Dibs Review: Terrible Customer Service and Bait-and-Switch Practices

1st Dibs is a website that I recently used to purchase some pillows. I was excited to receive them, but unfortunately, the seller did not have them in stock. Instead of informing me, they sent me a similar set of pillows and left a note for me to contact them if I had any issues. However, the pillows I received were not what I ordered, and I was not happy with them. I tried to contact the seller, but it was a long and frustrating process that took weeks to resolve.

I also tried to leave a review of the seller on the 1st Dibs website, but I was unable to do so. I contacted customer service, and they told me that I could not leave a review because the order had been returned. This was a terrible response, and I was very disappointed with the customer service.

I also found out that I was not the only customer who had received a similar "bait and switch" from this seller. This is a very bad business practice, and I believe that 1st Dibs is complicit in it. They should not allow their sellers to engage in these types of practices, and they should do more to protect their customers.

Overall, I would not recommend using 1st Dibs. Their customer service is terrible, and they do not seem to care about their customers. If you are looking for a reliable and trustworthy website to purchase items from, I would suggest looking elsewhere.

1stdibs.com Disappointing Experience with 1stDibs: Poor Quality Table and Unhelpful Customer Service

Our experience with 1stDibs was not a pleasant one. We worked with their design team to purchase a table that was delivered to us in March. However, upon immediate inspection, we noticed severe quality issues that were not highlighted in any of the photos or correspondence sent by the seller or on the website. To say that the table was in "good" condition would be a gross understatement - it was in terrible condition.

Our design team immediately called 1stDibs within their time guidelines to return the table. We were told by the representative that the process would be started to do so. However, just as we were about to pursue the return, Covid hit. When 1stDibs reopened, we tried to pursue the return again, only to be told that the person who assured us a return was no longer there. We were also told that we did not report the return within the proper timeframe and that the table met the criteria for the condition described. All of this seemed like a blatant manipulation of the facts to suit the needs of 1stDibs, not the client.

We understand the challenges that businesses face during these Covid times, and we offered a trade or exchange for something else on their site. However, all of our conversations were met with deaf ears, and we were offered a simple $359.20 refund to make us go away. We were profoundly disappointed by this response, especially from an online business that prides itself on being the best. One would expect a legitimate claim not to be dismissed in such a lowbrow manner.

Even high-end consignment shops in NYC wouldn't take this table because of its condition. We aren't the only set of eyes looking at it. It's a shame that our experience with 1stDibs was so disappointing, and we hope that they will take steps to improve their customer service in the future.

1stdibs.com Navigating 1st Dibs: Tips and Tricks for a Successful Shopping Experience

I've been using 1st Dibs for a while now and have had a mixed bag of experiences. I've purchased a variety of items, from textiles to framed art to decor, and have sourced them both domestically and internationally. It's important to do your due diligence and check out the individual seller before making an offer. Take a look at all of their listed items and assess them for consistency and quality. If they have a bricks and mortar shop or gallery, that's usually a good sign.

Unfortunately, I made the mistake of buying an item in haste from a seller that I later learned was also selling a bunch of garage-sale junk pieces at ridiculous prices. They were calling this junk "vintage collector's items" or something similar. I hadn't taken the time to look through their full listings because I was in a hurry. That kind of flea market stock list is a huge red flag, so be sure to avoid those shops.

The bid process on the site is pretty good, although I did have one seller try to deny that they had accepted my lower bid when I mistakenly accepted their higher counter offer. Not sure how that happened, but I won that argument. If you tag an item as a favorite and wait, the seller may send you a discount offer after a time. The website also holds sales featuring several shops at a time, and will notify you if a shop you liked is included.

One thing to be aware of is that some 1st Dibs shops post prices that are hugely inflated, expecting the price to be bid down. If you do your research and know the going price of what you're buying, this is a safe place to shop. Overall, I've had some great experiences and some not-so-great experiences on 1st Dibs, but as long as you take the time to do your research and check out the seller, you should be good to go.

1stdibs.com Disappointing Experience with 1stDibs: Misrepresented Custom-Made Table

I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed with my experience on 1stDibs. I thought I was getting a great deal on a custom-made dining table, but boy was I wrong. The table was supposed to be made of ebony walnut, but when it arrived it was clear that it was just veneer over MDF. And to make matters worse, it was the wrong color! I tried to get a full refund, but all they offered me was a measly $4,000. I mean, come on! The table cost $14,000! And to add insult to injury, they claimed that they didn't misrepresent the table because they only said it was made of "oak" and not "solid oak". Give me a break! If I had known it was just veneer over MDF, I never would have bought it. It's just not right that they can get away with this kind of thing. So if you're thinking about buying something on 1stDibs, just be careful. Don't trust everything you read on their site, and make sure you do your research before you make a purchase.

1stdibs.com Horrible Shipping Experience with 1stDibs: Paid $600 for White Glove Service and Got Nothing in Return

So, I recently made a purchase on 1stDibs, and let me tell you, it was not a pleasant experience. I spent a whopping $3400 on a piece of furniture and decided to pay an extra $599 for shipping. I was given a tracking number and a delivery window, but unfortunately, the delivery window came and went without any sign of my purchase. I tried contacting the seller first, but they had to reach out to 1stDibs for an update since they manage white glove shipping for their sellers.

After waiting for more than 24 hours, the seller still hadn't received a response from 1stDibs, so I decided to contact their support team myself. The only option available was to text them, and let me tell you, the support agent took forever to reply. It took them about 23 minutes to acknowledge my message, and when I was still typing a reply less than 3 minutes later, they threatened to end the conversation. Talk about rude!

I made several attempts to get an update on my purchase, but all I got was a generic response of "we'll contact the shipper and get back to you." Frustrated, I sent two more angry messages to 1stDibs, and finally, I received a text message from the shipper. Turns out, he's an independent driver with no warehouse/hub in my area, and his truck was broken down about 1200 miles away. He didn't have a definitive ETA, and since I was heading out of town, I asked what would happen if I wasn't there when he finally made it to Seattle.

To my surprise, my only option was to wait another month or more until he made another delivery to my area. Are you kidding me?! I paid $600 for shipping, and this is what I get? No communication or status updates unless I threaten the support team, and then find out that their cut-rate shipping service is going to take an extra 6 weeks because they are cutting corners?!

I am beyond disappointed with my experience on 1stDibs, and I will never buy from them again. Their support and shipping experience was absolutely horrible, and I wouldn't recommend them to anyone.

1stdibs.com Terrible Experience with 1stDibs: Beware of Dodgy Business Practices and Unprofessional Transactions

I recently had a terrible experience with 1stDibs, and I strongly advise against purchasing anything from this company. I ordered a Rolex watch from International Vintage Watch Company through 1stDibs for $7,000. When the watch arrived, I took it to a certified Rolex dealer in Austin, Texas, and was shocked to learn that the bracelet was very worn and about to break. The technician also noticed that the "attenuation" was off and the watch was running fast. The next day, the watch "fogged" over, indicating that it was not waterproof. All Rolexes are supposed to be watertight, so this was a major issue.

When I tried to return the watch, the vendor accused my husband of wrecking it by wearing it for only six hours. They claimed to have fixed the watch and sent it back to me, but refused to provide tracking information for the return. To make matters worse, the vendor has now ceased communication and is refusing to provide tracking for the order that was supposed to be shipped back to us last week. We are now out $7,000 with no merchandise to show for it.

This has been an incredibly unprofessional transaction hosted by 1stDibs. I am shocked that they are able to run such a dodgy business handling high-dollar transactions. I wish I had read their reviews before making a purchase. It's clear that many others have had similar experiences. 1stDibs has been silent and has done nothing to help solve this situation. I have been forced to do a chargeback and am considering filing a lawsuit against all parties involved.

In conclusion, I strongly advise against purchasing anything from 1stDibs. This company is clearly not trustworthy and has no regard for their customers. Save yourself the trouble and find a more reputable seller.

As the sender and point of contact for the shipping carrier, they were responsible for managing the shipment and ensuring that all necessary documents were provided. However, they failed to do so and then tried to shift the blame onto the seller.

Despite my attempts to contact 1stDibs and resolve the issue, they continued to ignore me. It wasn't until the seller took matters into their own hands and used a different shipping service that I was able to receive my items. Even then, 1stDibs continued to lie and provide incorrect information.

Overall, my experience with 1stDibs was incredibly frustrating and disappointing. I would not recommend using their services, as they do not take responsibility for their mistakes and provide poor customer service. Instead, I would advise contacting sellers directly and making purchases outside of the platform. This way, you can ensure that you are dealing with a reputable seller and avoid the issues that I experienced with 1stDibs.

I tried to return an item from a dealer that allows returns when it was still in the shipper's warehouse. First, I emailed the problem I had, that I would not be available to receive the item since it would take 6 weeks to arrive, so I wanted to change the shipping address back to the dealer. I received a reply from the 1st Dibs Concierge Support Specialist, saying that I could return the item after I received it. I replied by email again, re-stating that I would not be able to receive the item and therefore would also not be able to return it when it was due to arrive in 3+ weeks' time. The Concierge Support Specialist did not answer that email. Seeing that the item was now being moved out of the warehouse by the shipping company, I called 1st Dibs and was connected with the Concierge Support Specialist who had emailed me. She falsely told me that 1. I could not change the shipping address; 2. I could not track the shipment, 3. I had to be present personally to sign for the shipment. I know that it is possible to track shipment on-line, and, in fact, I was tracking it that very moment. Also, I had already changed the shipping address to a warehouse where I would not need to sign for it. I explained that my experience tells me that she is mistaken about these relevant details and asked to be connected with the manager of Concierge Support Specialist to handle the situation. The Concierge Support Specialist would neither connect me nor give me the name of her manager. Instead, she repeatedly told me she had contacted their shipping department and would let me know when she had received their reply. She did not know when that would be, but I suspect it would be after the shipping company had spent a lot of time and money moving a piece of furniture that would need to be returned. Throughout the call, she was constantly talking to me as if I were irate and unreasonable, which is insulting. When I politely let her know that I'd be filing a complaint against her with her company and the ComplaintsBoard.com, she hung up on me. Needless to say, I will not buy anything from this company again. I wish I had read all the bad reviews about 1st Dibs before buying anything at all.

I bought an expensive piece of furniture on 1stDibsds ($3400) and paid an extra $599 for shipping. I received a tracking number and an expected range of dates for the delivery window. The delivery window came and went, so I tried contacting the seller first for a status update. Since 1stDibs manages white glove shipping for their sellers, he had to contact their support team to provide me with an update. But more than 24 hours later, the seller hadn't gotten a response from 1stDibs. So as a buyer, I contacted their support team -- via the only option available, which is Text. The support agent took forever to reply (about 23 minutes) and threatened to end the conversation while I was still typing a reply less than 3 minutes after their initial acknowledgement. I made several efforts to get an update with only a "we'll contact the shipper and get back to you" as a response. I sent 2 more angry messages to 1stDibs and finally got a text message from a shipper. He's an independent driver with no warehouse/hub in my locale. His truck was broken down about 1200 miles away and he didn't have a definitive ETA. But since I was heading out of town, I asked what happens if I'm gone when he finally makes it to Seattle? And basically my only option is to wait another month or more until he makes another delivery to my area. Are you kidding me?! This is what a $600 shipping fee gets you?! 1stdibs.com You are NOT protected! BEWARE

DO NOT BUY FROM THIS COMPANY! Upon receiving a rolex watch for $7,000.00 Rolex via 1st DIBS, the vendor being International Vintage Watch Company, it was taken to a certified Rolex dealer in Austin, Texas. The technician stated that the bracelet was very worn and was about to break, the pins holding the links are paper thin. The technician did not open the case, he did notice that the "attenuation" was off and the watch was running fast. The next day my husband noticed that the watch had "fogged" over. This means the watch was not waterproof. All Rolexes are watertight. My husband did not submerge the watch, the humidity in Texas can be brutal and that's all we can think of. This means it's really not sealed. We tried to return the watch as it was not in the condition they stated. They are saying that my husband wrecked the watch by wearing it for 6 hours. They have supposedly fixed the watch and are sending it back to me, but are not willing or able to provide tracking for the return. Update_
The vendor has ceased communication and is refusing to provide tracking for the order that was supposed to be shipped back to us last week. So we are out $7,000 with no merchandise to show for it. This has been an incredibly unprofessional transaction hosted by 1st Dibs. Now we are looking at grand theft. We are going to file suits against all parties. 1st DIBS should be shut down. Just take a look online and read their reviews, which I'm sorry I didn't do. It's shocking they are able to run such a dodgy biz handling high-dollar transactions.! St Dibs has been silent and have done nothing to help solve this situation. I have been forced to do a chargeback.

1stdibs.com Horrible. Avoid. Customer Service Lies

Ordered $10,000+ worth of furniture. Paid $1,200 for 1stDibs to ship the items internationally. Long story short, 1stDibs mishandled the shipment, the items were returned as a result, and then they told me in order to get them back, I would have to pay again. I said I thought that was unfair - they then proceeded to ignore me for 2+ weeks. They lied numerous times, supplied me with incorrect information, ghosted me and then blamed the seller. There are so many layers to what happened but in short - if anything goes wrong, 1stDibs will not help you, they will absolve themselves of any accountability and then leave you hung out to dry. My experience with them was truly the most astoundingly awful customer service experience I have ever had in my life. If you want the full story see below:

My items sat at JFK for 2 weeks because US customs needed a DHL power of attorney and something called a lacey document because the chairs were made of wood. DHL, the carrier 1stDibs used, attempted to contact 1stDibs, the sender, multiple times for the forms (I know this because I was on the phone with DHL almost every day). 1stDibs never once contacted me indicating they needed me to sign the DHL POA nor am I aware that they contacted the seller prior to the chairs getting returned to Europe. They then blamed the seller for not providing the documents.

When you are the sender and the point of contact for your shipping carrier, you are responsible for being the liason between all parties. If US Customs needs something, they're going to tell DHL and DHL is going to contact the sender. At which point, the sender aka the entity responsible for managing the shipment, is going to contact their seller, get the documents and give them to DHL. 1stDibs was the most important link in the communication chain because they had contact points between DHL, seller, and receiver. If DHL needs something, they're only going to indicate to the sender. Why, I have to explain this is insane to me. Further, let's not forget that 1stDibs was paid to provide this service. The seller was not paid to ship the item. 1stDibs was. And thus it is their responsibility to handle it and not act like a bunch of whining babies pointing their fingers anywhere but themselves.

On December 15,2021 1stDibs notified me that the chairs arrived back to the seller. I was told I had to pay the same amount of money to get them back. They indicated this to me on December 20,2021. I replied immediately that I would not pay to correct a mistake I played absolutely no role in. I then never heard back and attempted to contact them 3 more times. They decided to ignore me when it became convenient! Wow!

The seller, who actually had decency and proper customer service values, decided to handle getting the chairs back to me themselves and used a service called Convelio. When they began the shipment, Convelio immediately contacted me with the DHL POA so I could sign it. I was not even aware at this point that customs needed this form as 1stDibs never contacted me about anything of the sort and the 7+ days I was on the phone with DHL while the chairs sat, DHL never told me they needed that form.

I'd like to point out, that here, the shipper, Convelio, knew exactly what was needed and coordinated the information from all parties. So let me again say, the fact that 1stDibs at the end of all this, blames the seller is the most juvenile move. They've been in business 20+ years. If they don't have a routine checklist for shipment requirements at this point... what are they even doing?

Anyways, 1stDibs finally responded to me the very same day that the chairs arrived to my address and were in my possession - this was 14+ days after attempting to contact 1stDibs multiple times. Their response was "we're doing everything in our power to get these chairs back to you. They are currently in transit back to the seller. Once they arrived back to the seller, we will get a shipment quote, and have them returned in 1-2 weeks"

I read this email as I was staring directly at the chairs. Mind you, they already knew the chairs arrived back at the sellers and told me in writing on December 15th. So they were lying - perhaps to buy themselves more time.

Anyways, I'm sure I'm missing details but the moral of this story is that I will never use 1stDibs again. Ever. Not even if my life's work depended on it.

They offered me a 10% discount on my next order - however its capped at $2,000 and in the very same breath the offer says " 1stdibs reserves the right to cancel or modify this offer at any time". How rich.

My advice? Contact the sellers off of the platform and make purchases that way. Do your research and make sure the seller is reputable but even so - it's not like 1stDibs protection program would even really help you. They're just out for themselves and they make it glaringly obvious. 1stDibs takes a 5-15% cut of all purchases anyways, so you're likely able to get a better price dealing directly with the seller.

Honestly, I gotta say, my experience with 1stDibs was pretty darn bad. I mean, I haven't had a worse time shopping since I got scammed on a Chinese website called "StyleWe" - they straight up lied to me and stole my money! And I always thought that kind of shady business was just part of Chinese culture, you know? So now I gotta wonder - is 1stDibs based in China too? Are they owned by some sneaky Chinese corporation?

Here's what happened: I bought this fancy chair for $3100 from some guy I met on 1stDibs. He told me to check out his antiques website, and I thought, "Hey, this guy seems legit!" But then I realized he was a total scammer. I tried to report him to 1stDibs, but they didn't give a hoot. They didn't do anything to stop him from advertising the same chair I paid for on their website. And when I tried to talk to their customer service reps, they just laughed and ignored me.

1stdibs.com Disappointing Experience with 1stDibs: Delayed Delivery and Poor Customer Service

I was really excited to get a diamond ring for March, so I decided to order it from 1stDibs in January 2021. However, it's now June 2021 and I still haven't received my ring. I've sent countless messages on multiple platforms, but no one seems to be following up with me. I mean, come on, this is supposed to be a luxury marketplace! I've had better luck with Amazon, to be honest.

To make matters worse, when I finally got fed up and tried to cancel my order, they told me I couldn't. Can you believe that? I've never been so frustrated with a company before. I wouldn't recommend 1stDibs to anyone, and I certainly won't be buying anything from them again. Not only did I miss out on having my ring on time, but I also wasted a whole month waiting for it to be custom-made.

If this issue ever gets resolved (which I doubt it will at this point), I'll definitely be looking for a better platform to buy my jewelry from. I don't want to risk going through this kind of headache again.

1stdibs.com 1st Dibs: Stunning Art, Disappointing Politics

I gotta say, I had a bit of a tough time getting in touch with 1st Dibs. Like seriously, it was like trying to find a needle in a haystack to get an email address for their magazine. But let me tell you, their stuff is absolutely stunning. I mean, I was blown away by the sheer beauty of their items.

However, I gotta say, I was pretty disappointed by a recent article they put out about a Japanese designer. The article was all about Mira Nakashima and her famous namesake chair, which was super interesting. But then they had to go and ruin it by bringing up the Japanese internment camps. Like, seriously? Can't we just talk about art without bringing politics into it?

I mean, I get it, everyone has their own opinions and beliefs. But can't we just appreciate art for what it is? It's like these radical leftists just can't help themselves. They have to inject their politics into everything, even something as beautiful as art.

So, my advice to 1st Dibs is this: keep politics out of art journalism. Let's just appreciate the beauty and craftsmanship of these amazing pieces without getting bogged down in political debates. And to anyone reading this, I highly recommend checking out 1st Dibs. Their stuff is truly one-of-a-kind and absolutely breathtaking.

1stdibs.com Buyer Beware: My Disappointing Experience with 1stDibs

I've gotta say, I've had a few experiences with 1stDibs and they've been pretty hit or miss. I mean, I've ordered some really cool stuff from them, but then there was this one time when I got a piece from a seller called Florida Regency out of West Palm Beach, FL, and it was way more damaged than they had described. I tried to return it, but no dice. Even though I had photographic evidence of the damage, 1stDibs sided with the seller and I was stuck with a totally unusable item.

I mean, I get it, they gotta protect their sellers, but come on. This thing was a mess. The seller tried to tell me that the damage was barely noticeable, but I included 36 photos of different damaged locations in my complaint. It was pretty clear that this thing was not in the condition it was supposed to be in.

Honestly, I think 1stDibs tends to side with their sellers more often than not. So if you're thinking about buying something from them, make sure you're really sure about it. And definitely don't buy anything that has "barely noticeable" damage, because you might end up with something that's totally unusable.

I was pretty disappointed with my experience, and I don't think I'll be buying from 1stDibs again. It's a shame, because they have some really cool stuff on there, but I just don't feel like I can trust them anymore. I did try to follow up with them politely, but I felt like I was unfairly judged in this situation. Oh well, you win some, you lose some, I guess.

So, I gotta tell ya, I had a pretty rough experience with 1stdibs. I was all excited to get this fancy-schmancy dining table that I saw on their website. I mean, the pictures looked great and the description made it sound like it was in tip-top shape. But when I finally got the thing in person, I was pretty disappointed. There were all these hidden problems that the pictures and description didn't show. I mean, come on, guys! That's not cool!

So, I did what any reasonable person would do and I asked for a return. I figured, hey, they've got this Buyer's Protection plan, right? That's gotta cover me. But nope. They denied my request and didn't take my complaints seriously. They didn't even bother to contact the seller to see if what I was saying was true. What kind of customer service is that?

Luckily, I didn't give up. I contacted American Express and they did their own investigation. And you know what they found? That 1stdibs didn't deliver what they promised. So, I got my money back. But still, it's pretty frustrating that I had to go through all that just to get what I deserved.

Honestly, I don't know if I'll ever buy anything from 1stdibs again. I mean, why should I pay premium prices and fees when my rights as a customer are completely disregarded? From now on, I think I'll just buy directly from sellers. At least then I know what I'm getting into.

I've had a couple of experiences with 1stDibs, and unfortunately, the second one was a real doozy. I shelled out a whopping $3000 for a copy of a Picasso ink print, after speaking with the gallery help not once, but twice. I wanted to make sure that the condition of the paper was up to snuff, you know? Even though they said there were no returns, I felt pretty confident that if the online description matched up with what the gallery help was telling me, I'd be in the clear.

Well, let me tell you, when that 9x12 print arrived, I was in for a rude awakening. The paper was completely frayed and irregular on the whole left side, and the "OFF WHITE" paper was actually ORANGE! Can you believe it? I was shocked. And to make matters worse, it turned out that the print was actually a page torn out of a book! Now, I don't know about you, but when I'm searching for wall art, I'm not exactly looking for pages ripped out of books. It just never occurred to me that this was even a possibility.

So, I reached out to 1stDibs, hoping they could help me out. After all, I had been promised a Certificate of Authentication by both the dealer and the 1stDibs follow-up. But after three communications with them, all I got was a half-hearted apology and a claim that "a bad experience like this through them was RARE." Well, let me tell you, that didn't make me feel any better. I was out $3000 and had nothing to show for it.

All in all, I have to say that my experience with 1stDibs was pretty disappointing. I don't think I'll be using them again anytime soon.

So, I was browsing the 1stDibs website to find a perfect diamond ring for my wife's anniversary present. After a lot of searching, I finally found the one I wanted to buy and placed an offer. The offer included all the necessary details such as my name, address, and credit card number. However, to my surprise, I received a message that I needed to provide a copy of my government ID to continue the transaction.

I was confused and frustrated, so I sent an email to inquire about the reason for this request. Unfortunately, I didn't receive any response for three days. I tried to find a telephone number to call and speak with someone, but I couldn't find any. Finally, I found an option to chat with someone on their website, and I asked why I needed to provide my ID. The person on the other end didn't know the reason, but they said that my transaction had been flagged, and they needed my ID to proceed.

I was already frustrated, and this made me even more suspicious. I asked why they needed my ID when they already had a valid credit card and a pending charge against it. However, they still insisted that they needed my ID. I asked them what they would do with my ID, and they said that they would delete it. I asked them how I could trust them, and they simply said, "Trust us."

I have never had to go through so much trouble to buy a ring in my life. I couldn't understand why they needed my ID when they already had all the necessary details. I have done a lot of transactions in the past, and I have never been asked to provide my ID for such a simple transaction. I don't think it's fair to ask for such sensitive information without any valid reason.

In conclusion, I would advise anyone to avoid doing business with 1stDibs. Their practices are questionable, and they don't seem to care about their customers' privacy and security. It's not worth the risk to provide your ID to a company that you don't fully trust.

1stdibs.com Mixed Experience with 1stDibs: Great Finds, Poor Customer Service & Shipping Issues

I've been shopping on 1stDibs for more than three years now and I've made a total of 21 purchases, which I think makes me a pretty good customer. However, I recently had a really bad experience with a seller over freight charges. The seller, Florin Antiques from Madrid, shipped my purchase via sea shipping and quoted the charge as "in-home delivery". But when the item arrived in the US, I found out that the service he arranged only shipped the item to the port of entry and I had to pay almost twice as much more than what he quoted to get it delivered to my home. I think the seller misunderstood due to his limited English skills, but it was still frustrating.

What made it worse was that 1stDibs customer service was basically nonexistent. They didn't do anything to help me with the situation and even took down my review of the seller. I was really disappointed because they promised to provide support and assistance, but it turned out to be useless. It's frustrating to think that one bad experience out of 21 has made me realize that if there is a problem, I'm probably on my own.

Despite this experience, I still think that 1stDibs is a great platform for finding unique and high-quality items. However, I would recommend that you be careful when dealing with foreign sellers and make sure to clarify all the details before making a purchase. Also, I would suggest that you only use DHL for shipping because they seem to be the most reliable option. This review is going to be a long one, folks. I don't know why I can't leave a review on Google, but I'm here to share my experience with 1stDibs. Let me tell you, it wasn't a good one. I was interested in an item and reached out to the seller, only to be told that it wasn't available at the time. Fair enough, I thought. But when I asked if it would be available in the future, I noticed that the price had doubled. What gives?

I decided to call and complain, and the person on the phone was really nice. But then I got an email from someone who clearly didn't understand the situation. I sent them screenshots and explained everything in detail, but I never heard back. So I called again. This time, the person I spoke to understood what was going on, but didn't do anything about it. I called a third time and finally got someone to call the seller. That night, the item was marked as sold. It took three weeks to get this outcome, and 1stDibs told me that they have no control over whether someone buys an item on another platform before me.

Honestly, I feel like 1stDibs supports unprofessional business practices and doesn't care about the buyer. I didn't end up purchasing anything from this site because I was denied the ability to do so. It's a shame, really. I was excited to find unique and interesting items, but the experience left a bad taste in my mouth.

This company falsely advertises their money back guarantee. I bought a $1000 purse from them that came smelling like cigarettes, tears, stains beyond repair, it looked like a goodwill purchase. They say they will refund if product is not as advertised, I was on a run around for 3 weeks waiting for responses to my photos and issue i supplied all evidence they need that the seller sold me a bad product. They don't care and just want money. They did not resolve the issue. I have a purse worth $35, and I will absolutely never ever recommend this company. In America we expect quality and customer service. Both of which this company does not have.

This watch was advertised water resistant and was even marked on the back. It was also offered with a one year warranty . I couldn't wear the watch for 2 months because the band that came with it which was sewn in, did not fit me so I had to have a custom band made for $300 witch took 2 months. I wanted a refund but they would not give it to me. After I sent the watch to the seller they said I had to pay to fixit . Why should I have to pay to fix it . I feel this was fraud The cost was over $1000. . The watch is still with the seller

I purchase a $7,000 Armoire on line from 1st Dibs. 1st Dibs represent the antique dealers and handle the transactions. In this case they also handled the shipping. I was told the shipping time would be three to eight weeks. The shipper never called. The tracking number 1st Dibs gave me did not actually track the shipment. They just give a date range that changed three times on line. It was impossible to get a hold the the shipper to get the true story. After two months and no word from the shipper it was clear that 1st Dibs had no contact with the shipper and had no idea where the armoire was. I asked to cancel the order because it was an older piece that could no withstand hash shipping and it was clear that they had no idea about where it had been stored and by whom. They granted my request. They have refused to give me the refund because they are waiting for it to be picked up and sent back to the dealer. They don't have a date that that *** happen.

I ordered a 2 carat diamond pendant on 1stdibs; the order number was omitted. The pendant was advertised with high quality and I was promised an extended chain from 16-1/2 to 19 inches. I paid $15,768.00 and received it on October 20. The pendant came without the promised quality certification and the chain was not extended. I immediately informed the Seller about the return. I was told to follow 1stdibs return procedures. I've contacted 1stdibs 5 times to get a return authorization. All I get is 'we are working on it'. I have an unwanted pendant and am out $15,768.00. Please help.

As I was looking through the 1st Dibs website I cam across a company in Germany that was on the 1st Dibs site. I was interested in a piece of furniture but in a custom colour. The site directed me to the vendor in Germany. I ordered the piece of furniture and at the request of the vendor I sent a money wire deposit for 1900 US. Dollars. 3 months later they asked me for the balance and I sent a money transfer for 2400 dollars. After this I never heard from the company again. They ignored all my calls and emails. I contacted 1st Dibs they would not help. I since found out from the German board of trade that this is a scam company that defrauds people and this has happened before. I trusted 1st Dibs as this was on their web site. I lost 4100 dollars that I cannot afford to loose. This company was represented and referred by 1st Dibs. They should not be representing scammers and fraudulent companies. I believe they should be responsible for my loss.

1stdibs.com I ordered an art piece from 1st Dibs in October

I ordered an art piece from 1st Dibs in October . It went straight to the gallery that was going to frame it and when they opened it it was damaged. 1st Dibs would not do anything about it because it was outside their 7 day reporting window, which is a ridiculous small time. I paid an extra $1000 to get a NEW print shipped to me, but it took 6 months to even get it. This one arrived damaged as well. I gave them one more chance and asked for a 3rd print to be sent. Once again, arrived damage. In each case, this was NOT damaged from handling, but rather from poor packing, where the print was rolled and then tape was put on it to hold it together but the tape touched the art, leaving residue and damaging it when you open it. My gallery has NEVER seen such shoddy work. All in all I have spent $2500 and have NOTHING to show for it.

On 9//2020 I purchased a dining room table from 1st Dibs on the basis of photographs on their web site at a cost of $5,531. 25.On 11//2020 a table was delivered to my son *** which did not look at all like the photographs on 1st Dibs web site as well as description of condition by the seller. It was in very poor condition with cracks on the surface paint splatters well as nickis on the sides of the table After several letters and phone calls I received a refund of $2963.00 . We have requested a FULL REFUND as the table was not as advertised 1st dibs has refused our requests.

I purchased a table, Order #***, on September ***, and asked them to hold it until December when I was closing on a home. Since then I have not received the item nor received any updates on the shipping of this item. The dealer has no idea what is going on, but suggested perhaps they decided to use a different delivery company, other than Deliveright, the first delivery company. This table cost me in excess of $4,000 and I am receiving no information and no service from 1stDibs.

1stdibs.com I ordered a set of chairs through 1stDibs on April 19

I ordered a set of chairs through 1stDibs on April 19. The order number was *** and the item number was ***. The total for the order was $4,787.65 which included $299 for shipping. Upon receipt, May 6, I notified 1stDibs that they needed to go back for a refund due to defects in construction. It wasn't until May 28 that *** contacted me to process a refund and pick up the chairs. Nothing has happened yet. My designer and I have sent over 20 emails collectively over the past 6 weeks, prodding *** to give us a sense of when they will be picked up but she just keeps ignoring our messages or putting us off. At this point, it feels like they have no intention of returning my money or picking up these chairs. I am incurring storage fees from the facility where they are and still haven't gotten a refund.

As I was looking through the 1st Dibs website I cam across a company in Germany that was on the 1st Dibs site. I was interested in a piece of furniture but in a custom colour. The site directed me to the vendor in Germany. I ordered the piece of furniture and at the request of the vendor I sent a money wire deposit for 1900 US. Dollars. 3 months later they asked me for the balance and I sent a money transfer for 2400 dollars. After this I never heard from the company again. They ignored all my calls and emails. I contacted 1st Dibs they would not help. I since found out from the German board of trade that this is a scam company that defrauds people and this has happened before. I trusted 1st Dibs as this was on their web site. I lost 4100 dollars that I cannot afford to loose. This company was represented and referred by 1st Dibs. They should not be representing scammers and fraudulent companies. I believe they should be responsible for my loss.
