was here to work on three sinks: clear water lines in two separate bathroom sinks, solve the problem of a leaking faucet, and check a faucet issue in a utility sink. The water lines were cleared quickly. The leaking faucet stems were 35 years old and *** made an extended search for replacements, located them and installed the next day when he returned to install a replacement faucet set I bought for the utility sink. I was very pleased how well and how quickly the work was done. I will definitely call *** again!
A new HVAC (Heater/AC) all parts installed 5 years ago
A new HVAC (Heater/AC) all parts installed 5 years ago. Every year they have had to replace and or repair. Every year they have had to install ac refrigerant as the ac unit has leaked from day one. This unit is under warranty. However, If the system was never installed properly it will always fail. I have paid a lot of money to have this system more energy efficient to save on monthly cost. I have not seen a decrease in monthly cost as this system has never outperformed (efficiency) my old (20yr) unit I replaced with this poc.

A Tech came out to unclog a pipe of a home we purchase two days ago, when that task was half done he left the top off the sewage plug, pack up and left, p*** flew everywhere. And they refused to clean it up nor refund the 75$ deductible we paid for the slop job. They lack responsibility and professionalism. This rating is extremely high comparing it to the service we've received. It's a NO for me. New house? Don't trust A. B May to insure that new home, their work, nor their warranty advertised, your problem is will be your problem.
Technician was very personable. He explained a variety of options to solve my issues. He worked efficiently. I am very pleased with the service he provided.
is always very thorough! I know when she is the technician that it will be fixed correctly.
Outstanding. The technician knows how hot water heater systems should perform - consistent, efficient, and without fail. On time, he took the time to explain the game plan for replacement. He got it done in a timely fashion and then guided me through the safe operation and annual check recommendations. An experienced tech who focuses on quality work and customer satisfaction. A great ambassador for the company.
was a typical model employee--pleasant, professional, efficient. He was being shadowed by a female technician-in-training and she was delightful, too. Have used this company for more than 25 years and am always impressed by its consistent level of customer service.
Had a pretty extensive plumbing issue
Had a pretty extensive plumbing issue. AB May gave me an estimate and, after getting a second opinion, retained them to do the project. All was great until 10 short months later when the exact same problem re-occurred. I called AB May and was told the service was out of warranty but for $90 someone would come out and review the problem. If they determined it was their fault, they would "stand behind their work" and fix it. I did not believe that upon examining the problem, they would admit fault, so I had it repaired ALL OVER AGAIN. Originally, AB May charged me $1500 and then 10 short months later, I had to pay a plumber $600 to effectively do what AB May supposedly did 10 months prior.
I was most impressed with this young man. Extremely helpful and thorough. Ive always been afraid to call a plumber for fear of potential expense however I think he saved us a great deal of time and money. Thank you
Nice guys to come out and service units. Very knowledgeable.
Perfect On time and friendly and totally professional in every way. Investments. Date: 10/24/22
Fast, efficient, professional and courteous service. *** answered all of my questions to my satisfaction.
I have loved A
I have loved A.B. May for many years. I had a tech AND his manager come out to my house and blatantly lie to me about the condition of my HVAC. They scared the *** out of me by telling me I was likely getting carbon monoxide poisoning and I was lucky my house didn't catch on fire. They quoted me just under $30,000. After a second AND a third opinion, I learned that I am just fine, as is my home. EVEN IF I needed all new HVAC, it shouldn't cost me more than $10,000. On top of all of that, they still pulled the loan despite me clearly communicating that I would not be moving forward with them on ANY project. All I can say is do your research and don't let anyone back you or scare you into a corner!
I've had a service contract for my house with A
I've had a service contract for my house with A.B. May for at least 10 years. They are always professional when I call to request service. They work with me when something is wrong to repair or replace what is broken. I've purchased my *** system and a mini-split from them that keeps my house well heated and cooled, without out breaking the electric or gas company budget. Having my house have great air quality matters to me and they have worked with me to have the cleanest indoor air I can have during all the months we need to keep the windows closed. If a tech is sent to my house who does not resolve a problem, A.B. May sends someone else to make the repair at no extra charge. I had my bi-annual *** service today and so far am very pleased with the service provided today. The tech was careful of my house and answered all my questions."
Worst AC repair company ever!
Worst AC repair company ever!. Do not use this company. They installed a fan on my AC less than 3 years ago. Its 90% outside and now the fan will not turn on. instead of sending a tech to verify and repair my AC at no cost (you know make it right like their company motto says) they tell me that I have to pay 90 dollars for some to come out tomorrow and they could not tell me what time tomorrow. I took the whole day off so this can get done today and they will not make it right. they use faulty parts and then charge you extra when those parts fail. they don't warranty their parts or service. when i was arguing my case the manager *** up on me. this was after I waited 35 minutes even talk to someone. what kind of attitude do you expect when you wait 35 minutes to speak to someone, they say that cannot get some out till tomorrow or the next day, and want to charge you for it! How many days do you expect the customer to take off work for a mistake that you made! do not do it. cancel your membership NOW! its a scam, don't fall for it.

My wife and I called A
My wife and I called A.B. May to unclog a sewer drain in our basement. When the technician arrived, my wife and I told him that this was a home owners insurance claim from sewer water backup in the basement. The technician told us that was no problem, because he had years of experience of what to say and what not to say to insurance companies and that we needed to keep it under $10,000.00. A.B. May ended up having to dig up sewer line in front yard that was infiltrated with tree roots and replace the line. After the work was completed, A.B. May emailed an invoice wanting payment immediately from us. We immediately sent the invoice to our home owners insurance company and I emailed the technician telling him that we had sent it to the insurance company and gave him the name, phone number, and email address to contact at the insurance company. He immediately emailed me back saying that he told us that we had to pay them and get reimbursed from our insurance company. I told him that he never told us that and if he would have, that we would have contact another plumbing company that was willing to go through the insurance company. This is all very simple communication that could have prevented this issue if the technician would have told us up front that we had to pay them immediately, but that was never communicated to us. Customers need to be *** of A.B. May.

Hired ABMay to install ductwork on our bathroom exhaust fans
Hired ABMay to install ductwork on our bathroom exhaust fans. We tried our best to do our due diligence when choosing them. We trusted them. We couldnt have been more wrong. When it was identified who was responsible for the damage, we were told over and over not to worry AB May always takes care of their mistakes. Well here we are almost a year later and they want nothing to do with fixing the problem. They sent out their own water mitigation company to identify what was wrong and what needs to be done to get our house back to pre-loss conditions. The owners brother, ***, was so incredibly rude and dismissive. We are devastated that this company has not only destroyed our home but lied to us that they would take care of it. Im not sure how to exactly put into words what it feels like when you work so hard for every dime to buy your dream home. 2 weeks into our new home the *** went out. We got quotes from 5 different companies trying to find the absolute best for our dream home and here we are with a home that is still damaged to this day. Our beautiful master bathroom shut off and unusable. I hope everyone hears this loud and clear DO NOT USE AB MAY! They do not do the right thing! They do not stand by there word! I dont want anyone else to have to go through what were going through. It has caused a tremendous amount of stress and anxiety in the last year that has taken away time with our precious family. We have spent countless hours on the phone with AB May begging them to fix this mess they created on the phone with contractors, experts, wasted hours upset and devastated. To this day it is still a shock that we trusted them and they have turned there backs.

We have had a comprehensive warranty plan for five years
We have had a comprehensive warranty plan for five years. This year in May we needed to replace our a/c unit and requested cost information from A.B. May. After being told that A.B. May could not replace the specific unit we had, we received a cost quote of $9213 for a Daikin, 5 ton, 2 stage ac/coil installation. This amount was after giving us a contractual credit of $2000 and another discount of $994. This promised cost savings was the inducement to continue to buy the warranty plans over the years. Turns out there was no financial benefit to purchasing the warranty plans. We had another contractor install a comparable 5 ton, 2 stage ac/coil for a little more than $7800. This was a retail price with no credits or special discounts. We certainly weren't required to enter into a warranty plan and pay a monthly fee. Upon learning that I would save money by not doing business with A.B. May, we canceled our warranty plan. A day or two later, we learned from our new contractor that a zone control system was inoperable and had been for some period of time. The contractor could not become aware of this until after the new unit was installed. After I learned of this, I checked the A.B. May contract and saw that the zone controls were covered under the warranty plans. Since it was clear that the zone controls became inoperable during the time that the A.B. May warranty plans were in effect, I requested that A.B. May inspect the zone control themselves and repair or replace it since I had paid for the coverage. A.B. May took the position that since the contract was canceled a few days before I learned of the faulty zone control, A.B. May would do nothing. In summary, I paid A.B. May for years thinking that if something happened to a major covered item like an air conditioner, we would save some money. This turned out not to be true. My experience with A.B. May should be a warning to any potential consumers of a warranty or service plan.

I purchased a home on 7 June and the seller purchased home warranty for a year I contacted *** to have some things looked at and they came out
I purchased a home on 7 June and the seller purchased home warranty for a year I contacted *** to have some things looked at and they came out on 1 July. The electrician was very nice and personable and at first I felt like he did a great job communicating things to me. He kept showing me things that were not covered and would cost me thousands of dollars. Like my breaker box he said need to be replaced and quote me around $4,000 to fix all the electrical stuff he found. I thought that the breaker box was covered under my warranty and he told me it wasn't because there was rust. I'm not someone who makes decisions on a whim so I told him that I would get back to him. But I was very apprehensive about the cost of the things that he said need to be repaired like the breaker box he said would need to be repaired he's a scare tactic by telling me that if a power surge happened at my energy company then it will blow all my appliances well come to find out that that would be the case of anyone's breaker box apparently. On July 15th a plumber came to my residence to look at a leaking shower ,clogged drains in the bathrooms, faucet repair, and to look at connector lines to the newer water heater. I got a call at 7:00 a.m. saying that the driver was in route and would be there by 8:00 he ended up coming closer to 9:00 I called dispatch at *** and they told me that he had run into traffic. This gentleman was not like the electrician and seemed more like a sales man than a plumber. He did unclogged the drain, fixed the faucet. He told me that he knew exactly what was wrong with the shower leaking but he didn't have the part he had to order it and it would be here the next week I explained to him how the leaking shower was costing me money he told me don't worry about it you'll get the part next week get that call us back and we'll come out fix it as of today, July 22nd no part has arrived, and my shower is leaking water. The other issues that I have was "too tall" he said that the connecting wires should be copper. He also told me that I should get rid of the water heater and get a new smaller one or get a tankless water heater. Since he was looking around at our water pipes, we had him look at the water pipe in that had been leaking a little. He I told us that there was a hairline fracture at the bottom of the pipe and he would have to drill into the garage floor to get enough room to replace the pipe. He then went back upstairs and we were waiting for him to complete the repairs we called him for, he then calls me into my kitchen and he says okay let's have a seat at the table and go over some options, which kind of seemed very presumptuous to me. the other gentleman didn't do that he didn't make himself comfortable in my home he stood in the kitchen and we discussed at the kitchen counter especially after rolling around on my garage floor and in crawl spaces, but the plumber pulled out a chair and had a seat I stood as to maintain a six-foot distance due to covid. Before he started going over the options he told me that he could waive the $75 service fee if I agreed pre-renew for a new home warranty with them. I explained to him that I had already gone over this with the electrician that came weeks prior and found out that if I agreed to sign on for an additional year I would have to pay monthly and I wasn't interested in paying monthly I wanted to pay for the full year he misunderstood and this commenced to argue with me on basically how it responsible it would be to not have a home warranty and then again explain to him that I was not going to let the warranty lapse I was simply wanting to pay annually I also let him know that I wasn't sure that I was going to stay with *** and that I was shopping around when he told me that he gets lots of customers that he "switches over from" another company. I feel that it was odd that and I only was he you trying to hard sell me this new warranty when he supposed to be there for plumbing. He started going over the options that I had that were outrageous and price he again was trying to upsell me on a tankless water heater that he had priced at $5444. He said that if I wanted to go with a smaller water heater it would cost $1887. He also told me that our water was hard and that he should install a softener for $300 and some other things he said that he did not have the part for my shower and he would have to get that part which is actually the only thing that I was really trying to get fixed that day in order to stop the water from dripping and costing me money. Based on our interaction and something to sit well with me so I decided to check ***'s work. I decided to look at reviews of the company and saw what I already assumed. So I contacted some local electricians and plumbers to come out and look at everything a b may had. The electrician I had come out actually opened the breaker box or panel and looked inside at the wires and for this rust that the a b may electrician said was there which was not. The breaker box was up to code and there was no reason that *** should not replace under warranty. The electrician also told me that there was no need to replace the panel box that it was in great condition for the age, but it was up to me to replace if I wanted to or I had the option of getting a surge protector installed for $300. Next the plumber came and looked at the water heater and the water pipe in the garage. He looked at the water heater and said there was nothing wrong with it it did not need to be replaced it was brand new and in great condition he said that the connector cables were fine they were made for water heaters but he could replace them with copper if I wanted them to but there was no need to. He then looked at the water pipe in the garage for the leak and asked me to go and flush a toilet I flush the toilet that was in the basement and he said no can you flush one upstairs. I yelled up to my son to go and flush one of the toilets and he did and then you heard the pipe flushing and the plumber goes there's the leak it's not at the bottom it's up here about 4 ft off the ground. He asked why the A B *** plumber thought it was at the bottom I said because he said there was a hairline crack there but he never flush the toilet or asked us to flush the toilet to see where the leak was coming from he just assumed it was coming from there and that he would have to drill into the concrete. The plumber went over a lot of things with me and basically told me that that plumber was an idiot. He said that the total cost to replace those connectors to the water heater and fix the leak on the water pipe in the garage will be $650 and he gave me a written estimate. I contacted *** today in order to inquire on where my part is to repair my shower and to voice my concerns on this company's business practices I spoke with a gentleman named *** of whom was extremely unhelpful. He gave me one word answers with long awkward pauses. When I asked if he was still there he would simply reply yes with no follow-up when I told him everything that had gone wrong he said nothing. I told him that I wanted to speak with the manager and he told me that there were none for me to speak with that he could put me on a list and they would get back to me in 24 to 48 hours I told him that that seemed unacceptable that there had to be someone on shift that I could speak with and he kept telling me no there weren't he then became upset that I told him that this was not being helpful and he wasn't being very responsive and he said there's a limit to what he can do and what else can he do I asked him if his call I've been recorded So that supervisors could hear how he was helping he did not like that so he sounded angry and the call ended. I called back and I spoke with someone named ***, she has been the only bright spot of this whole organization she listened to what I had to say she did not give me long off with positive and she apologized for what I had been going through and she told me that she would put me in touch with the customer advocacy department and a supervisor would hopefully get back to me today. She did not give me any excuses or say that she couldn't do anything she actually tried to help. The other representative was very unhelpful and passive aggressive telling me basically just to wait. I will most likely not renew my warranty with this company next year. Seeing as though my shower is under warranty, that is really all that I would like them to come out and do as it has now been dripping for 3 weeks and costing me money. The plumber that I had come out from a different company had actually worked for another warranty company before and he had then explained to me that companies like this get "incentives" for upselling and or the cost of things that they get customers to repair. I do not know if that is true of this company or not but I do know that's how it felt with the A B *** plumber. I understand that I have not paid any money yet but I do think that it is not great business practices to upsell new homeowners and tell them things are not covered when they should be or not have parts in their truck to do simple repairs. The other plumber had the part in his truck came in with tools and was willing to fix it for a fee but I stupidly said no because I believed the *** plumber when he said that the part would be in a few days. It is interesting to me that he did not have a simple part for the shower, but he carried a water softener in the truck and was willing to install that for $300 same day.

Electrician: 10-June-2021 -Kitchen had a 3 light fixture; one light stopped working
Electrician: 10-June-2021 -Kitchen had a 3 light fixture; one light stopped working. It was found by the AB May electrician that the light was improperly wired and needed to be fixed. We were told by the company that since it was not an original light we would have to pay out of pocket for this repair. It was the light that we had purchased with the home. Total cost out of pocket: $831.00 Plumber: 16-June-2021 -The pressure release value on the water heater is leaking and the bottom of the tank is rusted. When the AB May plumber came out we were told that the water heater would have to be replaced due to the rust and leaking valve. Per the plumber, "I can make some bigger holes in it so it would be a mandatory replacement". We were also told that our water pressure is too high and an expansion tank would be needed. - None of this is covered by the home "warranty". We called for a second opinion and were quoted $700 less for a 10 year water heater. $2,000 coverage is non-existent.

We have a leaking water heater and have tried to get them to replace fix/replace it. First tech gives us options for what we want to do, and we are told setting up appointment for tomorrow. Second day a tech comes over looks at our old water heater informs us he cann't replace it due to some issues, and that would need to have to get a permit and inspection from the city...they state city may not be able to come in our house due to covid issues but was unsure, we understand but are a tiny bit upset that they didnt realize or tell us all this the first day. Third day comes they want to send another tech over again for a third time we are wondering why they need to have a tech come over a third time? What did the first two techs not do before setting up to do this inspection and permit? We are upset as we cant just keep making ourselves available for their schedule cause they didnt complete thier jobs first two times. We informed them we are not available that day and are have someone else look at it that day so they canceled the order for that day. We call them back the 4th day to have them recommence the order. the agent told us that we need to get a permit from city first as its out of their hands. So we call the city to get permit and/or set up inspection. City informed us we need to get a permit from AB May first and that as a company they should already know that. So we call back that day to AB May and they apologized but we are upset now as there have been alot of mistakes made and wasting our time. They say they would try to get the permit taken care of. we get all later that day from the first tech that came to our house and he tells us he will be by tomorrow to take pictures of water heater to give to inspector. Fifth day now and they have not showed up. We give a call to cell phone of first tech and he tells us he is just waiting for dispatcher to send him to our home. End of day we call and an agent on phone says they never had an order to come over
On April 21 I placed a service call to AB May for draining issues in my bathroom. Several days earlier I met with a sales associate in my home to discuss getting a new HVAC/Water heater replaced. A service associates came to my home to address the water heater, I informed him that it is to be remove on April 30. Both myself and the service associate where standing my my hallway when I received a call from AB May telling me that a drain specialist was on its way. I told the customer service rep that someone was here now. As I was talking on the phone with the customer service rep, the service associate left my side and enter into a my bathroom without my permission. He came out and stated he fix my drain problem. I told him that was not the room with the problem. The problem is that the bathroom he enter without my permission was not the bathroom with the drain issue. He flooded the entire bathroom with water from under my vanity and informed me that I needed to clean up the mess he created. He stated that "it my bag" to me and the customer service rep on the phone. I have a recording of the entire conversation. He then left. I was left to clean the bathroom and assess the damages. The damages include the subfloor, floor, vanity, sink, faucet and toilet. AB May email a letter stating that the damages that their service associate causes was my fault. It stated he saw/heard water in bathroom and went in there to clear the problem. I wanted to know how did he know I had a problem in that bathroom when he was with me in the hallway. I never told him where the problem was. He took it upon his own to enter into a room that prior to his arrival was nothing wrong and made a huge mess. There is no way he could have heard or seen any water problem from the hallway.
AB May installed a new water tank on June 15
AB May installed a new water tank on June 15. It caused huge amount of water to spill in the garage and seeped into the basement. I called to complain, *** referred me to ***. They sent a crew to look at the situation and offered to put some fans to dry the floor and spray microbial and should be completed in 2-3 hour time. I asked for a detailed writeup and what warranty they will provide me if the water situation is not resolved. *** was offended by my request and said that I refused their service and that AB May will follow up with me. AB May never did. I contacted *** and I wanted to compare the remedial work that *** would do. *** recommended a set of big fans and humidifier to run for 2-3 days and put in microbial spray in both the garage and basement. Given the big discrepancy between the two proposals, and that AB May never contacted me again, I opted for *** service for $900. AB May should refund me the $900 paid.
