ABSA Bank policy

My aunt passed away last year May and there was a funeral cover and we also found papers for a life cover. My mum is the executor on the state, all was submitted at Gandhi was assisted by the branch manager.
My mum had to get a statement for the lawyer to show that the other accounts was closed and paid into the estate late bank account. And when my enquired about the funeral policy and the life cover at your Campus square branch she was told there no life cover or funeral plan. She was rather asked where did my mum get the life cover papers. We would like feedback on this as this shows that my aunt had these policy's, and even when she passed away my aunt the bank advised there is funeral cover but my late granny was the beneficiary on the policy so what happened to the policy.

ABSA Bank card services

My bank card has not being working for over a month now. I've emailed over 10 times with no response in addition to my multiple calls which have been costly for me being outside south Africa but nothing has been resolved. I tried the online webchat and the service representative only responded once and ended the chat. Its been such an inconvenience being out of the country and trying to access my funds but absa won't even meet me half way... and the communication is appalling even when I called as after being put through and transferred from service rep to service rep only to be told car card is active. Then on testing it it doesn't work. I'm so upset as I've called enough times and they didn't even help and now they don't respond to emails.

Good day

To whom it may concern.

Re: Mrs Fortuin - Branch manager - ABSA Paarl.

Hereby I would like to lodge a complaint against the above mentioned with regard to 2 incidents.

First incident occurred when the sister-in-law of the above mentioned verbalised in a very public setting that the above mentioned "helps me" while she lodged out some other personal issues.

When I visited the branch the day thereafter to discuss the matter with the branch manager I was informed that she was too busy to see me and would also not be available for consecutive days thereafter as well as weeks to follow. My request was a mere 2 minutes. As soon as I exited the doors of the bank Mrs Fortuin had time to call me to attend to my query over the telephone. I refused to discuss it that way hence I now request matter to be investigated by the regional manager. (second incident)

My main concern is that the person lodging out on me is a daughter-in-law who is the sister-in-law to Mrs Fortuin and I choose to have my financial matters kept private. This truly violated me and my faith in ABSA as all our business we solely do with you, from bond to our last will and testament and current accounts.

I trust to have your feedback on this matter as soon as possible.

ABSA Bank short term insurance

We are extremely disappointed in our short term insurance with Absa

Claim ref:362-8739
After a 9 month battle with tenant to vacate we applied for eviction order but before we served them they moved out on 25 May 2019, leaving our house in damages.
3 windows smashed, water damage due to possible leak walls, kitchen cupboards and tiles damaged which forms part of structural insurance. Assessor was sent out but he was bearly there for 2 mins and took 4 pics only of kitchen. No measurements no notes taken and left. I phomed back to ask for another assessor which absa confirmed but never pitched. We got our own contractors to do estimate of damages and it came to R40 000. On 31 May our claim was rejected after I had to contact the claim handler to confirm the outcome.

Claim re:3633-961
On Monday 3 June the above property was burgeled and all the copper fitting and pipes was stolen as they tried to steal geyser but could get it out. Assessor came out did a good job and I was contacted by absa yesterday 5 June and was told that claim once again rejected.
The value of report was R5800 but excess was R7500 and because the property is vacant. The geyser ect is all part of structural insurance but still no luck.

We had a double dispoinment and our loss is so much. I will appreciate a review of both claims and my next step will be ombudsman.

ABSA Bank absa insurance

It's really sad that today I lost every bit trust in absa insurance. I used to be so proud to say that, that is my bank. During this recent heavy rains, we suffered a major loss to our property. The front walls collapsed. The pool wall cracked and a small retaining wall that is 750mm high was damaged due to the heavy rain on that miserable night that kzn suffered a disaster. Even the primier of kzn and our president of the country declared kzn disaster area. Absa insurance are aware of all this. They initially send an unqualified white assessor from digicall assessing solutions Christian Bezuidenhoust to come and assess the property. He was in the property for less than 3 minutes with only his cellphone. He assured me that everything is fine, but as usual they are paid to work on behalf of Absa insurers so as not to pay the claim. His report was totally false. He claimed that the little wall was 1500mm high which he got from his super imposed cellphone that can automatically measure heights. This wall is only 750mm high. He said that the walls is not according to sans standards and needed to be a double brick or block wall. The walls are built with double block. The pool he said only needed to be cleaned but the coping and tiles broke. The consultant from absa insurance advised that the claim was declined due to this report. It was then referred to claims Manger Puvishka Naidoo. Puviska read out the assessors report. Upon her finish reading, I pointed out all the false statements of the assessor. She then advised that a loss adjuster Mr surashen will be appointed to come and assess the property. MR SURASHEN came with Mr Joseph from TJ maintenence. They advised me that the damage was due to the floods and heavy rain. They also advised that there was nothing wro g with the way the walls were built. Mr sireshan said that the report from Christian does not make sense as he measured and got different measurements. He also advised that these were only damaged due to the storm, and not any negligence in the building of the walls. This property was built in 1985. The pool wall and little retaining wall was constructed then and plans submitted according to The original owner. I only purchased this property a few years ago. I advised this to tge assessors. They advised that absa should pay this claim as this is storm damage. Absa is declining due to the value of the claim. Puviska also lied as she said that the quote from kzn swimming pools was R6000. Yet absa offered a settlement of R18000 less the access. She also lied and said the total quote of all damages was R57000. The damages to the pool is about R30000 and the damages to all the wLls amounted to +-, R150000. 00. Absa refuses to pay. Another manager Mr Sershin Pillay who is another liar, and promises to call back but never does. He advised that this claim was assigned to him. He passed it on to a female named Oscar who is an ordinary consultant that does not even know how to do her job properly. I refused to speak to because expects me to have plans for the walls that was built by the original owners in 1985. I was still in school then. She advised that the claim has been declined because I don't have the plans. I was then transferred to a Mr Shaun Guys who is totally unprofessional a superior or manager. I totally lost my mind with him and literally screamed at him because he is incompetent to do his job. Absa had also declined my claim for the pool I 2012. I advised this Shaun that my property was never insured by absa though my premiums are paid. This policy was forced upon us when we took the bond with absa. Should my house collapse now, they won't pay because I don't have plans for the property. This insurance was forced upon us by absa when we signed up the bond. I also advised every consultant from absa and the managers that the onus was on them to have inspected the property and list the exclusion s from the incep of the policy and should have been pointed out to me. They are the risk takers and not me. I am paying for my Insurance policy. Absa insurance is a big hogwash, Rouge in my opinion. I read on the internet of over 1000 dissatisfied clients of absa last night, who's claims were constantly rejected. I want to reiterate one gentlemans statement. ' run away as fast as you can from Absa Insurance company' I want to advise anyone that want a property or any insurance cover from absa to think twice as they will regret it in the end. I am looking for at least 1000 people to move away from absa insurance, . Let's show them that it is time for the Giants to fall. Us David's have the stones in our hand that will bring you down. Please please share with as many as possible, even if I am not reimbursed, at least we will get back at them for their rougish ways. We actually pay for nothing, because they always find faults not to pay. From my experience it is clearly evident that absa those everything in their power to shrewdly and cunningly find ways as to avoid paying out clients for damages. If you have an absa policy, it's never to late to find other more reputable insurance companies that will offer you better assistance and also really pay for damages. I don't trust absa insurance and it's employees..

ABSA Bank cheque account cost

Good day sir/ma'am
I have a huge problem with your cheque account billing. I have requested previously for all cost affected on this account be deducted on the 15th of each month because that's when I am certain there will be money available to incure all cost involved. The first time happened in January when plus minus R500 just disappeared without getting a notification or indication where and what the reason was for the large amount deducted. It didn't appear on my charge statement what so ever. Today it happened again without indicating or reason where and why the money was taken from my account. Especially because I needed that money on both ocassions and you guys just took it without any prior communication or notification and especially because of the arrangement which was made to deduct all cost not on the first of each month but rather move it to the 15th so that my account wont be in arrears. But this was not adhered to by you and then you punish me for something I made arrangement for so that I don't have to get calls about my account being in arrears. In any case the arrears is happening because someone change the arrangement and now I have to pay for it. Another thing that bothers me about the account is that I was told that certain transactions would be free and I'm pretty sure i sticked to the allocated free transactions but yet I'm being charged an arm and a leg for some of these services. Which bordes false advertising and miss representation of actual facts.

ABSA Bank want to confirm if my contact information is secure.

I need to have ABSA confirm that my contact information isn't being shared with other companies.

There is no option on their customer service menu to choose from to deal with this matter and one just get sent from one department to another that can't assist. Please treat this as a serious matter.

I am getting too many tele marketers contacting me and I need to put an end to it. It is way too much and considered harrasment.

ABSA Bank missing funds - suspense account

Good day,

I am writing to you regarding yesterday's article in Business Insider SA by Helena Wasserman about the reclaiming of funds held by banking institutions.

A bit about my history:
I had a Silver Achiever Account with ABSA Rosebank until 1996, when my second baby was born and I hadn't used the account for 6 months. The account was closed and when I inquired about what had happened to the 16, 000 Rand that were still in the account, I was told repeatedly that the money couldn't be traced. My daughter, Franciska Bottner's Children's Savings Account (which was opened under my ID number) was also closed a few years later for the same reason and it had a few hundred Rands in it.

At the time, I was young and not aware of this rule, of suspense accounts or the General Code of Banking Practice.
I felt that I had no recourse, despite the obvious dishonesty by ABSA staff as to the whereabouts of my funds.

Now however, I would like to know where my money went, trace these funds and have them restored to me in full plus interest.
I count on the full cooperation of ABSA Bank as the alternative would be to employ the services of the Banking Ombud, should the matter not be resolved to my satisfaction.

ABSA Bank absa fraud

I'm not happy at all about Absa bank and I'm willing to expose them everywhere I go

I opened a savings account with them and then later on they decided to change the account to a cheque fine about that, Immediately after they changed it there were debit orders eveymonth of which I ddnt dnt know about them this thing went for about a year everynoth I must go and do reversals and they will charge me for each transaction I got fedup and I went to Sunninghill branch I told the guy who was assisting how irritated I am he advised I should close the account okey I closed the account and opened a new one savings account time went on then last week's Saturday they decided to deduct the some of R2000 in my account without even contacting me when I call them they said the cheque account is owing 6000 I asked them how is it possible because I closed that account they said no it's not closed I tried to call them no one was willing to assist me I sent them emails until the guy called KWENA MASINGA said he is busy with the issue and he will come back to me, I waited and waited when I call back some staff will say he is off some of them will say he is on lunch and the last one just said he is on study leave oh well

The whole world should know about AND Fraud and scams happening there

I don't think I'll ever bank with them, they have lot of scams debiting monies from clients account and their useless branches

If you are using ABSA i would suggest you close that account because they will drain your money like no body's business and when you try to log a complain they never take you serious

But I would all clients who are banking with them to try better banks outside these people are full of fraud

Here is my story, I opened a savings account with them and later on they just decided to change it to cheque and their charges would be 99 rand okey

From the first month I was changed to cheque debit orders started to debit in my account when I go to their useless branches I was told to pay before I even reverse my money this thing happened for over a year I then went to their Sunninghill branch and the guy there suggested I should close the account and open a new okey cool be cause I was already tired to go to the bank every month

I opened a new savings account and then I thought I was in peace hence I ddnt know their plan later on I received a call staying that I'm owing Absa I told them I'm not owing them I closed that account and they just said no you can't just close it you need to pay ...i even went to Katlehong branch I also told them the same story that I dont want that account its closed

To my surprise on the 25th of this month they just decided to deduct R2000 from my account without even contacting me they just authorised it them selves ...When I called them they said they can t reverse it because I the cheque there is fraud happening there which means they training their employees their fraud so they will just deduct money anytime they want

I spoke to one of the manager KWENA MASINGA I even told him I will report this matter he said it doesn't matter which means they don't care about any of their clients I'll definately close my account, I'll also involve my lawyers and I'll also make sure that everybody knows about their fraud

After all I want my money to be refunded back to my account then I'll close my account with them

ABSA Bank aca sanlan (absa) pension fund payout

I'm Mazibuko Ntswaki I'd no [protected] cell number [protected].I applied for my Pension end of March and filled all required forms told it will payout within 21days.April I made a follow up and was told one of aca sanlan incompetent staff member did not take it out on the system I tried to understand.I was assisted by Reuben on this number 0860100380 who promised me it will pay out before end of the week so the whole April I have been calling with my airtime making follow ups but told same lame story but now it's May still not assisted then I talked with kgomolemo on this number 0112861352 and now they say sars is delaying on their side from 1st of may now is on the 27th of May 2019 and she promised to give me feedback but never did. Please help me as this is my money that I am intittled to.

I applied for my pension fund and i called this number [protected] with no respond only machine that you talk too until it gives you an option to leave a massage. But no one has ever called me. I am so unhappy with the service. Angry pensioner

ABSA Bank crazy bank charges

Hi I am Thandeka. Absa has charged me an amount of R2700 for admin charges this month which is the craziest thing. They still charged me admin charges for every transaction on top of this crazy amount. I am sick and tired of this fraud by Absa every month it's something new. My number is [protected]. I have not budgeted for this amount of charges and this is really pissing me off. I am canceling my account with Absa. I have had enough of this.

ABSA Bank write off car financed by absa

Evening, I would like to remain anonymous...
I bought a car 2018 june at some dealer in jhb..2 weeks later the car started giving me problems, I called the dealer and explained but they refused to help..2 months later i took the car for service since it had no power only to be told that the car s current kilos r less than the previous meaning they wer reversed..
I called the previous owner who told me the car rolled and it was written off in 2015 and it was financed by absa iDirect..I went to ABSA and explained my story since march until up to date but I was not helped, they told me many people complained about the dealer..
I called absa iDirect and they told me they wont fix the car should anything happen to it since it was written off,
What i was told by absa is that i should sell the car myself or trade it in..how do i trade in a code 3 car with lots of body fillers? Absa s area manager called the dealer and spoke to them, the dealer promised to fix the car but how does that help the fact that it was previously written off and kilos reversed and no insurance to cover it? I was asked on thursday to return the car back to the dealer which i did only to get a call 3 hours later from the dealer saying they will fix the car and il have to come and take it back and hold on to it for 6 months while they look for a car for me...
I recently got an offer to go work in pta, how will I drive a financed car without insurance in pretoria? Who is going to pay should it get stolen? Isnt absa supposed to be doing the run arounds and helping me return the car back? Instead of telling me to sell it myself? absa iDirect and absa iDirect continues to deduct money from my account even if the car is no longer in my hands, i need help please...[protected]

ABSA Bank student credit card

Good day

I have been trying to get my credit card unblocked for a week plus. Payments are not going through and as a result, it is blocked. The last person I spoke to said she fixed it and the fault is due to the fact that it is not nominated on the card and that it's been delinked. It was fixed according to her, but until now I'm still not able to use the card

ABSA Bank untrained/rude staff member

On 16/05/2019 I visited the Malvern branch with the purpose of putting in a death claim. Whilst in the que to see a consultant I was approached by a female (Asian) employee, by the name of Sharleen/Shailene who asked "what am I here to do"
I told her I was there to put in a death claim she then asked for who of which I replied for my son who was stillborn before she asked if he was on the I told her it was impossible to do so as it was a stillbirth of which she replied " well the child had to be on the policy" I told her that I have a Flexi family funeral policy but she insisted that the child had to be on the policy up until a point an argument was ensuing in front of other customers in the bank until I told her don't worry somebody else will assist me.
Also on a previous visit the very same female had once again attempted to decline me any service when I had informed her that I would like to see the balance on my home loan on that occasion she had told me that it was not possible because all the people's who's names are on the bond will have to be present but after phoning home loans department I was informed that, that was not true!

I hereby feel that this particular female is making my visit to this particular branch very unpleasant and would like to know why is it a lack of training, compassion, manners respect ...the list goes on but i will be closing my account very soon so I don't have to go through these experiences again.

ABSA Bank upgrading status

I am an ABSA client from 1999. I had a house loan which are paid up. There is even still a query outstanding with regards to the 90 days notice, no answer is supplied to date, attorney J. W de Vos is also investigating this query. I requested to be upgraded to Private banking status as other banks approached me with same offer and other new products. I don't like changes and would rather stay with ABSA. I contacted ABSA requesting to be upgraded. A week later, 12 April I got a call from Patricia Theron whereby I provided her with all my detail as she requested per mail. She promised to get back to me soonest. I even phoned her approximately a week later but she was busy and I left a message. To date I did not even receive any feedback with regards to my request(s). This saddens me due to the fact of me being a loyal client and ABSA not even responding to mails/queries as per the above - ABSA being a company with status, I feel disrespected as a client.

ABSA Bank personeel skakel net nie terug nie.

Voertuig aangeleentheid, waarin ek reeds n brief gestuur het aan Absa. Absa het laat weet hulle soek inligting. Die inligting wat Absa benodig is alles by Absa aangesien ek al jare lank n Absa klient is. Al wat ek verlang is dat iemand my kan terugskakel wat Afrikaans kan praat.

Ek het my vertoee op skrif gestel op 7 Mei 2019 om 14h33. Hierin verduidelik ek my omstandighede en verlang raad en advies in my eie belang as n Absa klient.

Kortliks my voertuig het warm geword. Aangesien dit n ingevoerde bakkie is, betaal en nog steeds die motor wat al meer as 5 maande stukkend staan. Soek n 2de handse engin, aangesien n nuwe ingevoerde engin my meer as die aflos op die voertuig tans is gaan kos.

ABSA Bank absa vehicle car finance

Good day !
This is the umpteenth time I have been having issues with Absa car vehicle insurance requesting a date change for my debit order, vehicle finance giving me wrong dates about when the new debit order will be taking place then debitting my card more times than required. When calling asking them to please refund my money twice in the past week there are always issues, one agent saying they will call me back and never does, or technical issues.
This is extremely frustrating

ABSA Bank purchases from inmotion body, insta lean dietary supplements and miraculoux

I have unauthorized deductions from the above 3 company's for R1017.37 (24/4) R1163.26 (21/4) and R1090.82 (21/4)
These transactions were unauthorized! I purchased free trials through these 3 companies only paying for postage and 2 weeks later I was billed again for the full purchase price of the products which I never reordered. Please advise. Thank you

ABSA Bank estate late notice account

I spent 1.5 hours on friday, 12 april to open an estate late notice account. At the end of that 1.5 hours the account was not opened successfully because there was a system error. When the consultant wanted to try for the fourth time I refused and told her I will come back the following day. The consultant did not know when the system error will be rectified. I was told it was the fourth day they could not open estate late notice accounts.

I went to the bank again on saturday, 13 april and spent about 15 minutes and still there was no success.

How does absa allow a system error after a software update to continue for 5 days unresolved? As customers we are supposed to understand that absa had a system upgrade with errors and go back home and try another day.

This is upsetting and it is unprofessional on the side of absa
