ABSA Bank poor service

Case Ref No. 3561113 - Customer : MR PIERRE DE SWARDT ID : ###89083
My Absa card was stolen. Reported it to Absa hotline. They confirmed the card was stopped and no unauthorised transactions. I was happy. 5 days later, R2300 fraud on my stolen card account. Asked Absa to give back my money. Absa says certainly not. Absa did not block the unauthorised transactions, did not try to reverse the transactions, even though they had knowledge of the stolen card and have authority to reverse transactions. I appeal to the CEO's office. They say, we'll give you R500 and some change, I say no, Absa has to man up to it's mistakes and rectify what they have bungled. They say we won't talk to you any further go to the ombudsman if you want your money back. Watch out, this could also happen to you! Absa does not use it's systems to help a client in this regard. They simple don't accept their responsibilities when they let a client down with poor service. They hang you out to dry. Watch out, dear Absa client, when you report your card stolen, there awaits further surprises and losses, even though they say all is well, it not! And don't expect them to help you retrieve your stolen money!

ABSA doesn't worry about their clients! I stand with you on this one ! They don't care if they ruin your life ! They only care about themselves . I hate absa and would not refer anyone to this bank !

ABSA Bank unethical behaviour

on 24 May 2018 I was scammed on my App banking on my phone. Someone got into my App and disconnected my device and added an apple phone and created a new benifishery. I reported the matter to the fraud line and suspended all my App banking and up to date had no follow up what is happening. But worst scam to come. I was leaving South Africa on the 30th May to West Africa for 2 months. This was made clear on my avidavid at the police that were send through to the fraud department. On Saturday 26 May I went to Mayville Mall ABSA branch in Pretoria to get my internet banking password changed. Big was amazement when the LADY helping me informed me that I can not change my password without me loading the ABSA app back on my phone. HELLO this was because off your app that I got scammed and now you requesting me to load it back on my phone. I left South Africa without changing my internet password.
I feel this is a disgusting thing that I am not allowed to change my internet password without loading the app back onto my phone. Does ANSA want to get me scammed again because their apps are not secure?

I told the lady I will rather change bank and my ABSA home loan than to be scammed again by ABSA app.

ABSA Bank atm and internet banking

The main branch of ABSA in Tableview Raats Drive always has a problem with the AMT's being offline or not accepting deposits - this has been ongoing for months now. there are 3 machines and on a Monday it is a nightmare.
Need to deposit cash to cover debit orders and it wont accept. Then I have to pay for returned debits orders

The internet keeping giving a overline errow for transfers from my credit card and there are funds available.

Why why why - such a big organisation and bad service

ABSA Bank vehicle finance

I have been struggling to change my debit since March 2018 and still my car is unpaid for month of June as ur incompetent staff cannot seem to do a simple request, namely Lorenzo who has received my emails since 22/05/2018 and still cant even bother to contact me back, this is annoying as u mess with my credit record and puts me in jepordy of having my car reposesed, i want feedback and my debit order changed

ABSA Bank poor and hurting service

Please help me

Joe from Greytown bank took my card and broke it just because the clients said i am jumping the line.What i would like to ask is that was there a need for him to broke my card even though i was jumping the line?

And who is suppossed to cover for my expenses because i stayed very far the town, and the card was not mine it was for my mother who is on wheelchair .that card was from SASSA it means my mother have to apply for a new card because Joe Broke it and my mother can not walk she had a stroke 2 years back...

What Joe was done was raisist...i need him to pay for the expenses coz we need to hire a car and take my mother to SASSA to apply for a new card ..., and he need to apologise to me and to my mother for what he did...My mother is very old she almost admitted to hospital her BP was very high coz she needed to withdraw money and buy food for her grandchildren because it was her pension day...

I am really very hurt about what Joe was done even if i was wrong there is no law which says he supposed to broke the clients card when they jumped the queue..

ABSA Bank Settled home loan (bond repaid). Requesting title deed

I Paul Johnnes Els id number [protected] went to Absa Northgate branch on 1 June 2018 to request the title deed to my property 5 Geelhout Street, Sharonlea (Erf 75). The bond was repaid 15 years ago and up until now I have not received the tittle deed to my property.

I asked the assisting staff member what is required to get the title deed, she informed me that I need to supply proof of residence, divorce settlement letter, id document. And that to then process and finalise the transaction it will cost me approximately
R5 000.00.

As this property belong to me and Absa have received all the funds owing to them, I do not belief that I as a pensioner now need to pay additional funds to receive what belong to me.

ABSA Bank fica reinstate

ABSA FICA updating accounts [protected] and accounts connected R COLLE

Hi Complains Dept,

I am so sick + tired of writing emails to different people at Fica and even my friends banker, that I wonder if this email finds anybody that cares or knows what to do .

I have been a loyal client from about 1986 but that doesnt mean a thing.
I have a list of people that I have emailed the last year or more to get my Fica re instated as we live overseas (NZ).

Is there anybody at absa that can help before I write a long email again .

ABSA Bank card expired, new card not delivered

Dear sir/madam

Date: 31 May 2018
Account Number: [protected]

My credit card is expiring today (31 May 2018).
I have had no communication from ABSA about a new card (as happened in the past)

I did call the enquiries section and the operator told me that the new cards have been with the couriers since March this year.
I was also told that it will take 3 to 5 working days for the card to be delivered.

When asked for assistance to be able to do card transactions in the time in-between, I could see that the operator's hands were tied and she did not know how to help me, except to tell me to go to a branch and request a cheque account card and have the card linked to my credit account.

I find this level of service absolutely appalling

The desirable solution is to have not break in my ability to transact, that is, to have a replacement card delivered before the current card expires

ABSA Bank suspected fake calls and sms

I do have a problem with someone calling and she said, she is calling from absa and she wanted me to give her my personal information. Every time when she called me she said someone wanted to take my money from my account.

One more thing I received these attached sms wanted me to log on on my account. Now I'm scared to log on because I don't know what happened.
Due to the previous bad experience with Absa when my money came out from my account without my permission. Now I'm very scared even to login my accou.

Is this attached sms coming from absa or from fraudsters? Please assist

ABSA Bank I am complaint about my money taken away in my account

My name is odofin fatai and have a complain about my money. I paid an online website called iwantu, and now have being having serious problem with them with my bank money, they be taking money way from my account without my aware on that. They had taken almost 600rand way from my bank account. I will like to stop them from that and if it possible them they should return my money back to my account immediately!..

ABSA Bank house insurance claim no 3427859

We had to move from the home that we own in witbank because of a job opportunity. We moved from our house on 06.03.2018.
On 10.03.2018 vandals broke into the house and started stealing the stove, plugs, light switches etc. I eventually submitted a claim to the home insurance department via the internet on 26.03.2018 as I thought this would now stop [the vandalising] unfortunately since the submission of this claim to date 29.05.2018 the only thing that has happened is that a contractor has been appointed but not all the claims have been accepted and therefore the contractor is not able to start his work.
In the mean time since the submission of the first claim to date they have walked in and out of my home with nothing to stop them as they eventually stole the front door, security gate, the back door, security gate, all of the electrical wires and alarm in the home as well as all the outside doors and inside doors. It has now been 10 weeks and still a solution is not in view.
Have spoken to so many consultants with very few of them being of help as well as sent some many mails etc.
I am not able to rent out our home so I am currently loosing income
Would this be an acceptable timeline for such a claim?

ABSA Bank money deducted from my account but not dispensed by atm

On Sunday late afternoon I dropped a client at Lagoon Beach Hotel and I went in to the Absa atm to withdraw money. I entered all my details and chose the amount, and waited, and waited. Eventually after realising that the atm is obviously faulty I pressed cancel various times, but the screen stayed frozen on the prosessing display, so I removed my card from the machine and it still did not change the screen display. I saw the plug of the atm and switched it off and back on as I needed to leave and was weary as it was on the processing screen, so I figured that will be the only way to assure my transaction was cancelled. It then had a white display on the screen and did not change over to the absa display logo. I left and went to the next closest atm and withrew the money sucessfully. When I got home and I switched my phone on as I was left without battery, I received messages saying that absa bank had deducted the money that was never dispensed from my account. I called the hotel and explained what happened. The lady at reception went to look at the atm and it was offline. Now a day later and the transaction has not been reversed, so basically I was plain and simply robbed by the bank... I can not believe how absa can take money from my account and charge a transaction fee for money that was never dispensed. This is absolutely unbelievable, surely there must be some way to verify that the money wasn't dispensed and for absa to return my money to my account. At an absa teller you need not worry about strangers taking your money, absa bank will simply just keep your money for themselves. I really hope this matter will be resolved and soon too. I can't believe in this day and age a bank can makw this kind of mistake. Please fix this asap.

ABSA Bank online service

The operator helping me, was so uneducated.
I spoke to her, requesting her to assist me as I received a error message on my online banking regarding a sim swap.

No sim swap has been done recently.
She advised me to go into the branch as she was not able to assist me.

What is the point of internet banking...
Its suppose to be quick easy and sufficient.

She only informed to go into the branch once all her security questions were answered.

But absa service is crap.
What is the point of having a support desk, if no one can support your complaint!

Ridiculous...
I cannot even make a simple banking transaction, now they want to inform me I made a sim swap and act like my service provider...
What is the point!

ABSA Bank credit card fraud

Good day Sir / Madam
My name is Lindelwa Sikundla, i'm a client of Absa Bank. The reason for my email is poor service ive been getting from Absa, I reported a fraud regarding my credit card on the 3 of April 2018. I took a credit card with Absa last year and everything was well until this year March when I received my statement and it reflected multiple transactions which I do not know how and when they where performed. I asked for my card to be blocked of which they did and I was promised to be contacted regarding this matter till this day no one has came back to me with any information, instead ive been making means to followup with this matter and ive been taken from pillar to post with no solution to this problem, now im sitting with a current - R83 712.01 in my account which keeps on accumulating because of bank charges and non payment. When I took this credit card I was offered a credit of R7500 and I asked to be reduced to R5000 now! how is it possible to have a balance owing of that amount when I dont even qualify to increase my limit no consultant has ever been helpful every time I call Absa ive been told someone is handling my case they will get back to me within 7 working days and then im given a reference number that same reference number reflects another client when I call again I even went to the branch and I was told to contact the credit cards department... im hoping for a response asap. ABSA Bank deposit error

I made a deposit at ABSA branch in Bloemfontein on Friday 18 May 2018 at 14:30:40 pm .I deposited R175 into my COMPANIES AND INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY COMMISSION Customer Account but the deposit did not reflect yet and it is been three working days now, I made the deposit inside the branch and I do have proof of payment with me, I even provided correct account number and correct reference number .I am so disappointed in the service and I am taking futher steps if I dont get any assistance .

ABSA Bank card done twice and at flora centre branch

I went to flora centre to do my card after I lost other card, the guy who was helping me gave me a card that is not working, I went back to redo a card woman who was helping me second time managed to see the problem then she asked me that she have no choice but to do other card for me since the other one it won't work I didn't agree, but she did it because she knew what she is doing as she said whatever they will charge me on second card they will refund after she lodged a case.Now is a second week going to the branch looking for my R141 been charged no help they keep promising me that they will do process what kind of a service is this I'm getting I tried to be patience now I'm been tested.Must I show clients I get in the branch my stupidity by shouting for my money
Please attend to my complaints because I'm very hurt giving people respect and them still not taking you serious as valued customer or is it because of my bank balance that make me get bad service

ABSA Bank complaint of shocking service

Good day. I live overseas and I've instructed all Absa dealing and RVN numbers to be emailed. Under no circumstances should they be sent to my mobile AS I HAVE NO ROAMING.

Still today after more than 20 emails, Absa members are not changing it.

Who do I speak to in order to get my job done? I'd like this matter taken further please.

I'll be back in SA and I shall be closing all my accounts and the families.

ABSA Bank premium banking

I have been baking with absa from my highschool days to date - but I am seriously considering moving all my accounts from Absa to FNB.

The service is so poor that when I discuss with my peers who are banking with FNB I wonder why I am still wit Absa.

For starters I pay my home loan double every month and know that with other banks you can estimate the years remaining on your home loan as you putting in extra - when I was discussing with a home loan agent I was told, in absa it does not work like that but the 20 years remain. then I am asking myself I am paying more so as my home loan can be paid faster and then absa tells me this?

secondly I was given a premium banking account - my card was retained by a machine and based on the information given to me premium banking service is 24/7 today (22/05/18) @ 19:55 when I called the 0860109085 number the call centre agent told me he could not assist at a time and must call me at 22:00 as he is working alone - then I wonder why I am still with this bank again

ABSA Bank mobile app and internet access

My account was blocked after 3 attempts. After the last upgrade the app and Internet just would not accept my pin. I phoned absa helpline for internationals twice and they kept referring me to a branch. I live 22000km from South Africa and cant just pop into the nearest branch. My last call, I spoke to Thapelo, he requesyed an online pin unblock and pin change. That was a week ago. No response from absa. I need my account. I have obligations to attend to. Can anyone please help me. Absa really dont care about the international customer. Service is non existant.

Another week, still no response from Absa bank. I emailed their action line... But still nothing... How bad is this!
