Can't get a new card
This company is horrible when it comes to "your" money. My son had his taxes done and sent to this account not knowing that his card had expired and that they had sent him out a new card to his old address. He has been calling them for 3 weeks giving them everything that they have asked for and it hasn't been a success. This isn't the way a company should treat their customers. I would never recommend this company to anyone.
Customer service/lack of knowledge
I have been a customer for over a year now with AccountNow/Green Dot. I have never had any major problems in the time that I have been a customer with them. I pay a car payment two times a month, it started in February, no problems. The car company runs my card on May 17th 2019 for the same $200 car payment its always ran and all of a sudden it was declined and there is a hold, so I call account now to see what the issue is. The money came off my card for the payment but its being held on an pre-authorized hold put on it. Why? No idea, account now can't tell me why there is a hold on my funds. They told me that I am financially incompetant and can't handle my money (and this is after I was nice and tried being decent with them) and refuse to release my funds until June 29, 2019. They also told me that in order to get my funds released sooner, that I would have to have my car company send in a letter, fine, but one problem. My car company refuses to talk to AccountNow because its "Not their job" so here I am, writing a complaint in hopes of getting my money back BEFORE June 29, 2019.

My card was stolen and my money was spent someone cashed my whole account out I have called so many times and they just keep saying the investiagtion is in progress they keep tellong me they will refund my money and still have not. Im homeless I need to pay the tags to my car I have 3 kids and I lost my job. Im in desperate need for that money & the last guy I was speaking to was basically laughing at me they dont have a corporate office they refuse to help me they say they will and dont and they comment back just to look good so people wont realize how much they SUCK. I need to go to court. I need advise from a lawer because im taking this to court.

Good luck if you use this company. very hard to just get then to contact victims who have had their credit cards accounts compromised and used here in NY resulting in the same perpetrators going on shopping sprees over and over again free of being prosecuted since they will not do here in NY unless you speak to the card holder and get a statement saying you did not give someone halfway across the united states permission to use their credit card smh. Good luck the best you can do is stay on top of your statements or get usage alerts if this company even offers that.
took upon themselves to cancel my card!! now paying 25.00 just to cancel service
Went to the atm card got stuck called customer service after requesting someone to speak with that I could understand, employee idgt refused to assist me in speaking with someone until she helped after explaining multiple times I was finally transferred to someone that spoke worse then the first! Ask to speak with a manger that I can understand and they could understand what I was talking about and requesting. After getting that manger after five people! They were rude told me I could transfer money on to another account now card in my procession the the online website then argued with me that I could not. Asked me if I wanted to cancel my card or pay 25.00 for a new one to arrive in 3 days. I responded that I rather not do neither after being told I could transfer my money to another card in my procession! And reminded them that the calls were monitored or did they not do that for customers just themselves. So after requesting to hold off so I could figure out how to get my funds they suggest sending money back to venders after I explained i'm a single mother of three children keep in mind two premature infants and one eight year old. The manger then said that was fine but they could not guarantee that funds would be safe one the card if someone gives a hold to it! Myself agreeing knowing the bank where the atm is said they would destroy the card. After thinking there might be a solution and hanging up with the manger of five other mangers. Come to find out after logging on the canceled my card where even if I did add an additional card counting the second one I had in hand there was no other option but to pay an additional 25.00! This is my first and last traumatic experience with account now and the customer service! Ask for corps number or email and was refused! Employee idgt and the rest of your five so called mangers should communicate more and have some training!
release of funds
I'm complaining about my funds that was deposited on to my account your customer service team put a hold on my account due to a middle initial on my check that I feel was ridiculous. I have to pay my rent no later today and I noted that to your costumer service team yet they still unable to help or accommodate me for that. I sent in all the documents that they ask and yet they still haven't processed my information they say I have to wait 3 to 5 business days but I don't have that much time for them to process that
withholding money
To whom it may concern,
I am writing this letter to explain the complaint I have with account now. You have withheld my money for little over a week now. I have sent the documents that you have asked for, I was told 3 business days. I have bills, children, and animals to take care of. I can't not believe that you can let your company do that. I have called everyday for the past week to figure it out. When I do call in there is really nothing much your customer service can tell me other then wait. As a result of you withholding my money, my dog is sick and I can not take him to the vet because you have everything that I have. I hope with me writing this you can fix this problem so other people don't have to go through this ordeal.

my money from my deceased husband
They will not release my funds I have over $9, 000 in this bank and they ask my to send my social security card and my id and something from the sender and proof of residency and I did that and I still can't use my money and this money is from my deceased husband and I need my money cause I have a 4 year old son to raise and I can't wait any longer my card has been restricted for a week now so someone needs to fix this or I will see why not

I am a transgender I was born a male last name blanks now a female and when my online account was locked I called in they quickly locked my entire account and agent made the choice to lock my account since i sounded like a female and my legal name is a male for small amount of funds 101.00 account cc ending in 8820 and refused to release my funds to me I was on the phone with a supervisor and she walked me thru on uploading doc while on the phone with them I didn't wait days I did it in matter of minutes I spoke to supervisors they were so rude and discriminating against me on 08/21/2018 thru 08/23/2018 no avail I was transferred to 4 different manager and each one told me something different when asked for mangers i was transferred then disconnected. they told me they were going to hold funds for 30 days then send back to irs

My purse got stolen on August 7 2018 . I called in to report my card stolen. They put a lock on my account saying I need to send in social security card and I'd and another document in order to receive a replacement card and it takes about 5 Days to be reviewed and they can send me out a replacement card once approved I hate this company it needs to be shut down they steady holding my money that I need that's not fair this company is [censored]

failure to return my money on closed account
I have battled with account now prepaid for the return of my monies on my account now prepaid card, which was closed by them (without my consent) for some time now (over $2000). I am homeless and living on the streets now and could desperately use my money to at least get some temporary housing and food. I have called account now every week over the last 5 months to no avail. Each time I call them they advise they will open a case to look into 1. Why I have not received my replacement check & 2. To re-establish a replacement request. I am told will be contacted within 48-72 hours (have not received a single call back within the last 5 months. I have sent them every document they could possibly request (except my birth certificate, which would be absolutely preposterous; talk about giving a bunch of crooks your entire identity which they may steal as well in addition to my money!) I have requested account now send me my check via a traceable means (and I will gladly pay for fedex or ups) and they refuse to advising they will only send refund checks via us mail (of course, not the traceable us mail but rather regular mail). They lollygag and toy with me on returning me my money! I am at my wits end and wish there was recourse for a company such as this who steals and holds consumers' monies hostage. We are helpless in dealing with a company such as this. People - do not, I repeat, do not ever put your money in the trust of this company, unless you care not to see it again for some bogus reason. They are crooks and they will take your money. What, you want to use your card, what card? You don't exist in our system! The information you provided does not match our system! Etc, etc, etc.
By the grace of god, I was referred to an attorney who will pursue legal action at no cost. I advise everyone else to follow suit and seek legal help.in the end, all I wanted was my money and not getting my money has put me on the streets. I hope account now understands the negative, unnecessary impact they are causing consumers!

I've been trying to get my money off my card since 12/2017. I've sent and faxed every piece of paper they asked me for. It was always some kinda excuse:They can't see the number on my SS card which is a lie. They sent me 2 supposed to be replacement cards.:One came with a negative balance of $35: The other one they sent came blocked. How can we petition this company for our money

My daughter passed away april 23 2018 they stop the card on april 13 3018 when i called them for them to release her money they told me that soical security repoted her passing when she was still living. I have sent everything they asked for i call and now they want something else. This card company should be shut down. The had no business shutting the card off. On mothers day I used my card at a gas pump yes I no there can be a hold I got that. I ended up swipping my card twicr because I accidentally entered the wrong ZIP code they ended up putting a another hold on my money I talked to a girl from customer service she told me that as soon as I get the $14 off my card for gas at the pump in my car that they would release the 126 they took the 14 and didn't release the 126 and told me I was getting another hole for swiping my car twice how could that be when I entered the wrong ZIP code gas the first time it was declined it's not easy to make it on very little income I need my hundred and $26 back immediately I have a baby who needs diapers and milk have kids I need money to eat this is not fair in ridiculous I want the number to the corporate office why would you charge another hold on my card when it wasn't even the right zip code it was declined and it's not fair and I need my money they told me I'd have it back after they took the $14 off and I never got it back for telling me that I have to wait they should have notified me or let us know through be entered the wrong ZIP code we will get charged $126 this is bull crap and unfair

They closed my account on the day I got paid. After disputing charges on my account a week pryor. They said they couldn't give a reason to why. I didn't meet all the regulations. I know my account had been open with them for more than six months. That's how I would get my paycheck. I'm still waiting on my money. They told me 3 to 5 weeks and it's been almost 2 months. I don't have any savings. About to lose everything. I do thank God for the patience that my bill collectors have. I just don't know how long they will give me. Please pray for me. I'm living pay check to pay check. I was ahead on everything now I'm gonna have to get a second job. This takes time away from spending time with my son who is 10 and very outgoing. I don't like this a all.

They have had a hold on my money since March. I have sent everything they asked for then they asked for a recall letter. The merchant and I contacted them and got nowhere in regards to getting access to the funds. They stated no manager was available to help and hung up. We called back to get the corporate information and was told that information was not available. I just want my funds released. I shouldn't have to get a lawyer for the release of my funds.
hello I am a single mother with five children and have no gas and even though the merchant released my funds the same day as the purchase they will not refund my deposit they asked that the hotel fax them a cancellation letter i had no gas so I had the hotel fax one and then they still wouldn't refund my money then I was treated very poorly and hung up on by costumer service and also by the manager and they wouldn't let me speak to there corporate office i am very upset with this card worst card ever they are unreasonable HEARTLESS thieves.

On 2/262018, I sent funds to my friend, Caryl Hetland, in Montana for the amount $161.50 through MoneyGram, but unfortunately for me it went to Missouri. I called MoneyGram when it was discovered and they refunded me the funds back using reference number [protected] to be picked up by me. After several attempts to pick these funds up, I was told that it was refunded to AccountNow. I have been dealing with both AccouontNow and MoneyGram for a refund of $161.50. As of today there is no refund in my account. I have been dealing with this sine 2/28/2018 and every time I call AccountNow, they say it has been escalated and for me to call MoneyGram. I have been back and forth like a Yo-Yo every since. MoneyGram tells me to have you (AccountNow ) called them but no just phone call has been initiated. I get the same script from both of them and several times has been hung up on as well. I am frustrated that this business can't or won't call 1800MoneyGram to get this completed. My card ends in 4726. Lastly but not least I have been given the run around by AccountNow reprtesentatives and managers.
