Advance Auto Parts deceitful offer to install car battery as part of product pricing

Yesterday (02 September) I purchased a Platinum CarCraft battery online, with the understanding that I could get it installed the next day at your North Plainfield, NJ store. The cost was $236.70, which was inclusive of the battery, its installation, taxes and a recycling fee.

Today, when calling for the battery's installation, I was told that the store would not install the battery. The reason, I was told, was that there were not enough personnel present to do so. I counted three workers behind the counter, all wearing shirts with your firm's logo on it.

I advised the apparent store manager (Brian) that the Advance Auto Parts online advertisements (see attached photos) clearly stated that the battery's installation was part of the purchase price, but he insisted (in a very intolerant manner) that such installation was merely "a courtesy." In sum, and in the totality of our discussion, he was completely useless, arrogant and impolite. Someone should advise him that he's part of a service industry.

As for me, I was forced to take the battery home and install it myself. It's a very hot and humid day and I'm not a mechanic. Now that it's installed, I have the old battery (which I paid Advance Auto Parts a recycling fee for) sitting in my garage. I don't want it there, but in order to return it to your store, I've got to invest the time and other resources to drive ten miles there and ten miles back.

Had Advance Auto Parts honored its advertised pledge to install the fairly expensive battery purchased from them, I wouldn't be stuck with my current deficit. I greatly resent having been put through this ordeal, and thus pledge to you that even facing the most dire of circumstances I will never patronize your business again.

Advance Auto Parts unethical behavior towards me

Hello Jackson and the whole world! I hope we all are BIENNN LIKE KANOOOO FROM MORTAL KOMBAT TRILOGY OKAAYY?! So the bald headed gentleman was real nice and professional today. He gave me my water-pump and spark plugs I requested for my 2006 Jeep Liberty. This is the main reason why I am giving me this store a one star. I am grateful my water pump and spark plugs were fixed in my carro thanks to the good man Mr. McElroy! Yep yep! I recommend him to anyone in the Jackson metro area. I came back to this Advanced Auto Parts store because I wanted to see if they sold compressors. This bulky, dark skin, black male who resembles Thomas Mikal Ford from "Martin" was rude as [censored] to me! He actually threatened to hit me because he thought I was some burglar or robber. I assumed the store was open, but I had a long day. I had so much [censored] on my mind where I did not know whether the entrance was on the side or front. Come to find out, the store was closed. Then I asked him if the store was open, before the fact I found out it was not. He said, "Don't you see the damn doors closed, " SO [censored]in' RUDE! Now little does he know I a disabled Navy Veteran with a mental disability. I should had cursed him out, but too much was on my mind. But I will leave this here to be professional. I hope this man reads it too. He may be back there tomorrowOS. He is bulky with a hair cut. He has a stocky size. He saw me today. I hope the managment team at this location in Jackson, Mississippi fires him immediately. I have been disrespected a child being bullied; I will no longer tolerate anyone disrespecting me as a man. I will not return to this store anymore until that man is fired or some discipline occurs. I did not deserve how I was talked to today. I did not pay attention to it because it started raining. This does not go to the bald headed gentleman, but to his co-worker. That is all. World peace.

Advance Auto Parts employee

Hi, I just walked out of an advance auto store after purchasing a MSD 6AL box (9/2/18). The store was located at 1677 N Hwy 17, Mt Pleasant, SC 29464.

The reason I am writing is because one of the employees, Chancy, was incredibly unprofessional during my visit. I ordered the MSD box online. As I walked into the store, I saw a man who I've seen work at this location once before and reasonably believed that he was a store employee. I told him about my online order and he began to assist me, looking for the MSD box. Immediately after he went to go snag my order, Chancy began to curse him right in front of a woman and other customers, stating, among other things, that he needed to get the hell out of the store. She again reiterated her sassy-ness to another employee, who I presumed to be the manager of the store, again in front of store customers. The manager then handled the situation in a reasonable manner and, as the gentleman who was helping me left the store, Chancy again continued on her tirade in front of customers.

It sounds like Chancy needs to find employment elsewhere. Maybe McDonalds has a few openings.

Advance Auto Parts refused to be helped

All I needed was break fluid and to see if they had fix it flat I stood at counter for twenty minutes there was two people working they both seen me go to check out. I man walked in and the lady finished up with the person she was helping she asked the man who just walked in how she can help him he told her I had been standing there for awhile she looked at me and rolled her eyes and asked him what he needed I have never been to this store before and will never go back

Advance Auto Parts advance auto parts store # 7148

I am writing so that there can be a solution to a very ignorant, inpatient, and rude associate named Paul at this location! He has been working there for some time and I have complained to the manager and nothing has been done! I as well as my family members refuse to go to this location because of him! All the other employees have and see the same behavior but nothing is being done! Paul himself has expresssed his hatred of working there! If someone can please do something it would be GREATLY appreciated!

Advance Auto Parts the computer they put in my car just to put my battery in

My name Carla Cunningham on may 12 2018, I had a warranty on my battery I came the salesman put the computer in my car said it keep radio an clock thinking battery still in so when I left advance went to another store I had to get a jump on my way home me lights was going deam wen I drive next day had to get jump so went got alternater car still wouldn't keep charge went got computer put in car still want keep charge went in got fuses car still want keep charge went an got another alternater still want keep charge went to Kia dealership got battery wire still want keep charge had to get another battery from WalMart my car still want keep a charge I hav spent 1500 dollar since may paying to see wat wrong wit my car took it back to another mechanic he an the Kia dealership said wat ever was put In my car for battery hav damage my wireing in my car I hav never had nothing to be wrong wit my cat were it want start still to this day my car want keep a charge I have to take battery post off every nite so it mite crank call an talk to somebody in may wen it first happened she said it wasn't yall tool tht make my car do that yes it was I had no no problem out my car I just needed a battery I need somebody to call me today cause right now I'm on side road waiting on a jump I hav missed so many day from work since may I nee my money an my car fixed cause this to much or I'm going to file court papers I told tht lady who I talk to first time I jus want to get me car fixed she got smart so now something need to but done

Where to start. First off if you are going to complain, make it coherent so people can understand what you’re trying to say.
Are you saying you bought a battery? Had one replaced under warrantee?
The memory saver is just that, a power source that keeps your radio station pre-sets and car computer settings that would normally be erased when a battery is disconnected. Since it is just a 12-volt low amperage power source there is no way it damaged your car. Your car obviously has some electrical problems, but it is unrelated to the use of a memory saver.
If you must disconnect the battery every night your car has a parasitic load somewhere and a competent mechanic should be able to diagnose it.
Your blaming this on the memory saver is akin to blaming squeaking brakes on the guy who just installed a new brake light. He may have been the last person to touch your car, but it doesn’t mean he is the cause of your current problem.

Advance Auto Parts battery warranty exchange

On 8/16/17 I replaced my battery on my car it carried warranty replacement on it. On 8/20/18 I woke up to go to work and my car battery was dead. This was the first instance of this since being replaced on 8/16/17. I called the store I got the battery from they said bring it in and they will check my alternator and my battery and if battery checked bad they would replace. I got off work that afternoon my battery was dead again so I got a jump took it directly to the store to get checked out. I arrived at the store around 5:30p the guy ROB checked my altenator it checked good. He checked the battery it was dead he said it needed to be put on their machine and charged. I waited in store while he did this with my 5 year old daughter. He then put it back on my car and checked it he said it all checked out good again. I asked him if he thought this would happen again he said it should not everything checked out fine it just needed a charge but that is what I had already been doing the 2 times I had to be jumped off. I left the store at 7pm and went home. The car sat in drive way over night again like the previous night and I woke up to a dead battery once again on 8/21/18. My kid was late for school, and I was late for work all because the guy ROB would just not swap the battery out for me (it was under warranty) The battery was just a year old it was clear the battery was bad. So I was inconvenienced 2 days in a row due to this bad battery that was sold to me. On the morning of 8/21/18 I took it back to the store and the guy Kelvin just replaced it after I told him my issue of already going through all the check process. The moral of the story is if the guy on 8/20/18 would have just replaced it as I asked him to do I would not have been inconvenienced the 2nd day missing wages from my job and having my kid late for school. I paid $146.99 for the initial battery on 8/16/17 it was

First off you need to learn the definition of warranty. It doesn’t mean you get a new battery because you want one, it means you will get a replacement if the one you bought is bad.
If Kelvin just replaced the battery without it testing bad, then he needs to be reprimanded for not doing his job and failing to protect company assets. Rob did his job correctly he cannot replace a battery that doesn’t test defective.
To replace a battery under warranty the battery must tested, and the tester has to say that it is bad, if it says it needs to be charged then it must be charged and then retested. If when testing the battery after it has just been charged it still reads as needing a charge, then the battery is not taking a charge and is defective.

I had the exact same issue and Adcance treated me the same way. They told ne I had a draw on my battery when the jey was off. When they finally abd relyctantly replace ny battery after 3 trips, I never had another issue. Store mgr not helpful and Advance dies like honoring their battery warranty. I buy batteries at Costco or Wal*Mart now.

Advance Auto Parts customer service

On 8/5/2018 I entered the store at 8599 Gunn Hwy Tampa FL attempting to replace defective xtravision headlight bulbs that I purchased on 02/17/2018. Upon entering the store I was met cordially and respectfully. When I explained what I was there for the receipt was given to a clerk by the name of TROY. Troy said where are the old bulbs. I said that the bulbs were on the car. He responded that there was nothing he could do without the bulbs. I responded that I had this problem in the past and the store manager DALE (MGR) had replaced them without the old ones. He responded that's the problem DALE was not there and there was nothing he could do. He then further proceeded to tell me to go take out the bulbs that I did not need them in the daylight anyways. Besides what was I afraid of that I would get a ticket. I felt myself getting extremely upset. He then suggested that I remove them in the parking lot in front of the store that's when I asked him have you ever done it and he responded no. I left before I would say something I would regret. TROY was extremely unprofessional, disrespectful, and rude. I have been in that particular store numerous times to the point that I know the manager. I will NEVER return to that store or will at this moment return to advance auto ever again. Thought someone needed to know.

Advance Auto Parts employee

I was in the store, advance auto in penns grove, nj, a few days ago with my friend and her 11yo daughter. I noticed one of the employees checking out her kid. He had a creepy look about him. I asked a driver that walked in the guys name and he said, Pablo. It took me a while to research but turns out he's a registered sex offender and convicted felon. Then when I asked another employee about it, the manager there is also a registered sex offender. People should know that there are child predators at that location so they can choose to go to another location.

Advance Auto Parts pell city store

Wanted to In form you about the lack of leader ship in this store, Pell city Alabama
One person behind the desk, wile others are on phone. Never find the manager ever.
Seems that the inventory is always off. Every time i need part they say they have one but then come back and say the inventory is wrong and they will have to order it.

Store always looks like garbage when I go in, compared to other stores.
Only ever see 3 people in store that seem to work, a veteran and a bearded your man, and the commercial person.

The lady's there seem to only want to flirt or talk on phone, or are always in the back

I visited your you're Loris South Carolina location one of your employees was on the phone the other employee instead of taking care of me who is the customer chose to finish stocking up a drink box if this is the type of service that you guys allow your employees in your stores to give then I sure you felt customers will be going to Napa or O'Reilly's where were you walk in the door you're greeted and they don't mind helping a customer in waiting on them

I stopped by the Advance auto parts store in Thornton, Colorado near 120th and Washington and only spent about 120 seconds in the store, because as I walked in with my young daughter, we were immediately bombarded with the employee's (could've been a manager) comments laden with "f-bombs" and "[censored]s." There was absolutely no respect of professionalism or awareness of the clientele in the store. We immediately left after we could still here the man droning on about some story that was wholly irrelevant to his job while he yelled from the back stockroom. Unbelievable. I've never experienced such utter lack of professionalism or attention regarding customer service. I can truly say I'll never go back to Advance. My money is just as good at O'Reilly or Napa.

Advance Auto Parts advance auto customer service

I was confronted and accused of stealing when I had already purchased the item took it out to my car and was coming back in to buy more things

it all started last Sunday I went into Advance Auto Parts in Greenacres Florida on 6th Ave & jog rd to look about buying some AC Freon from the get-go as soon as I walked in the door me and my brother were was being stared at by two employees one a manager and another employee and they would not stop staring at us to the point that it made us a little uncomfortable but the Florida heat is no joke this time of year so I asked an employee where was the freeon he pointed me to behind the counter they had a little section for it and I asked him if I can read the back of a can and so I can see if I it was the right product and he did let me look at the back of the can and after I read it the two employees that were staring at me walked away somewhere and another lady came out the back and ask me was I ready to be wrung out I said yes please so I bought brake fluid and AC freon I put the change in my pocket with the receipt grab the bags and walked out I got outside and ask my brother if he can start putting the AC Freon it cuz I was going to run back in and see about getting an oil change so I walked back in and go up to the counter and ask the guy if he could help me with getting the right oil filter and oil all of a sudden the two employees that were staring at us from the get-go reappeared and ask the guy who was helping me where the freon went and he mistakenly thought they said where is the freon so he pointed to the little section where the freon is and they said no then they looked at me and asked me where did the can of freon that I was reading go it took me a second or two to realize that these people were actually confronting me thinking I stole the freon that I had already purchased meanwhile it's a Sunday afternoon and the whole store is full of people and they are all now staring at me so I told the two employeesI that I had already purchased it and them young lady over there rung me up and I can show them the receipt if they want they then questioned the girl who wrung me up and asked if it was true that I had already purchased it I have never been so embarrassed in my life in public like that from the very beginning these people took one look at me and probably because I am a skinny male that I was some type of drug addict or thieves which at the end of the day no matter how you look at it it's profiling these people profiling me as a thief and they did not even know me I've never stolen thing in my life and treated everybody with respect when I walked in as I always do when I'm in public

Advance Auto Parts oil filter

I had purchased a purolator oil filter and went to change the oil in my daughters car. I put it in cleaned the old oil off and took it for a ride. I came back and noticed the oil on the ground so I jacked it back up and cleaned the filter off and ran the car. I noticed the oil was leaking at the gasket and I marked it with a marker. I took it off and had to get another oil filter somewhere else. I took the one back that was leaking and the counter person said since I used it he could only give me another filter and I said I did not want another .What an idiot I had to put it on then found it defective but if I did not put it on he could of given me my money back.

Advance Auto Parts middlesboro, ky store.

I went there today on 7/20/2018. To get a transmission pan gasket, I told my pan with me an they got me a gasket. I was broke down on side of road now . I get back to my truck thinking I got right part I put the filter on an tried the gasket it was not the right one so I left filter on because it had oil on it an took gasket back an told them they made a mistake an would not exchange it for a new one cause I didn't take the dirty filter back . I ask them if they could not just put new filter in with the new gasket I had an no they couldn't an wouldn't. They got smart with me...

Advance Auto Parts disinterested employee

Stopped by to buy wiper refills and have them installed. Was told store didn't do this anymore even though the sign in the window said different: I needed help in what refills to buy, and there wasn't much help given. Paid for refills and employee reluctantly did install them. Much different experience than I've had before in buying at advance auto. In fact, on one visit an employee went out of his way to help me with what I needed, and then installed them, which makes todays visit very discouraging. If they are not going to install wiper refills and other minor needs then the signs should be taken down, so prospective customers could go elsewhere to get the help needed. The employee told me that he was a parts and delivery person and not a mechanic. I understand that, but why advertise you have certain services such as installing wiper refills if you're not going to follow up. I will continue to buy at Advance Auto, just not at that particular store.

My boyfriend bought a car battery which was not needed..we wanted to return it and they say its non refundable no where in your return policy does it say the can not b returned we just bought it on Saturday can someone please get back to me on this plus y didnt the employee test the old battery first. I did call the store and they will not take it back

Advance Auto Parts battery

I had my battery die and went to the store with the battery that Advance Auto sells only I explained the last time my battery died I purchased a battery not sure where it died but I went to the closet store at the time. The battery is within the warranty period and stated it needed to be replaced. I was then told even though its our battery I could have changed the sticker. The battery sits in an enclosed compartment for my vehicle and is in pristine outer appearance with no signs of tampering. It was suggested that I could have changed the sticker or received a battery from someone that was not the original owner. I asked since the battery has a bar code why he couldn't scan the battery to see when and who purchased it.

I am a manager in the customer service field where I handle large losses and deal with customers at there most stressful time and the y way I was treated at your store would make me never want to buy another product from your company.

I hope that I can get resolution from a customer service representative. I called the complaint line and was on hold for over 20 minutes before I had to get back to work.

I'm a regular customer at advanced auto on bridge st Lowell ma. And I wanted to put in a complaint due to an employee giving me 2 headlights 9005 and 9006 cause she wasn't sure which one was the right one. It made me feel uncomfortable walking out the store with the headlights but she insisted. I'm just reporting this so that the employees get properly trained so if in doubt they won't give the merchandise away.wilson

Advance Auto Parts customer service

I recently called up to the Advanced Auto Parts at 9924 Knockando Ln
Huntersville, NC 28078
United States. I spoke to the main manager Heather I believe and she was very rude and unprofessional on the phone. I politely asked her to call me Sir instead of Honey after doing it a couple of times. After me doing so she went on to be very rude and condescending towards me. She needs to be retrained on how to properly speak to a customer on and off the phone and also write me a personal apology for her phone etiquette.

Advance Auto Parts sold wrong antifreeze for my vehicle and needs a complete flush because of it

I was in the Somersworth NH branch on Saturday July 8th and came in with a antifreeze leak from a broken clamp. I bought a new clamp and the employee sold me antifreeze for truck that he said was compatible. I asked him to look it up in the computer to double check and he reassured me this was the correct antifreeze.
I repaired the leak in the parking lot and topped off my vehicle with the antifreeze that the employee instructed me to use. I completely relied on this employee as I am not familiar with the different types of antifreeze
After getting home I looked up the antifreeze he sold me and it is for vehicles that have HOAT antifreeze. Did some research and found my vehicle used OAT antifreeze and it is not good to mix the 2 types as it will cause sludge in the system. I now need to flush my entire system with distilled water and refill with 4 gallons of new antifreeze which is 18 dollars a gallon. I would like this paid for by advance due to the absent knowledge of this employee. Please get back to me on this matter.
