Air Berlin the voucher can never be redeemed while we book online

2016 we supposed to fly Air Berlin back to our home Sweden Gothenburg, but the flight was fully booked and did not allow us to go on even thought I was 7 months pregnant.

So we got the vouture from airberlin afterward via Email. But I cannot even use that redeem vouture while I am trying to book ticket, seems really weird, and we try to call, they never pick up the phone.

I just want to know how bad this customer service can be? And We do now want to have cash instead of this useless voutures that soon will be expired!

Please contact us as soon as possible.

Air Berlin retour de voyage

Bonjour
Madame, Monsieur,

Air Berlin damage to baggage

We took a flight AB8032 from Copenhagen to Berlin on Aug 27, 2017. During this flight both of our bags were damaged. We made a damage report with the airline Report number TXLAB43230.
We were contacted by Dolfi1920 a Ms Anne Holzhaeuser about replacement bags. Their case numbers are 1035078 and 1035080.
We had the purchase receipts for both bags. One bag was less than a year old.
The replacements offered were not acceptable. They said a cash offer was not possible. I suggested they issue us a credit with ebags so we could pick out bags we like. After that offer I have not heard from them for over a week.

Air Berlin delayed luggage - 2 weeks

September 25, 2017

Dear Customer Relations Department:
My wife and I booked with American Airlines for a flight on September 8, 2017 from Charlotte, NC to Berlin, Germany (Flight 786). American Airlines flew us to Paris, France and then handed us off to Airberlin for the remaining leg of the trip Flight AB8293. Upon arriving, we preceded to baggage claim at the Berlin airport. Our baggage had not arrived. We immediately reported it to baggage claims and received a tracking number TXLAB45045. Each day thereafter, I would get an email from Airberlin/WISAG stating unfortunately we have not yet been able to locate your luggage with tag numbers AA364078; AA364079.
I have attached the daily email communications I had with the tracking service. This went on from September 9, until September 15, 2017. I then get an email stating our baggage had been passed on to the delivery service (Bex Baggage Express) if you have any questions please call [protected]. I tried numerous times but no one answered the phone. This service never once called me. I had each of the Hotels I was booked in trying to call but to no avail. Our tour service Collette tried numerous times to call the number provided; no one would answer the phone. I finally got a call from American Airlines on September 21, 2017 asking me when I was going to pick up my luggage. I asked the American Airline agent where she was calling from and she said Charlotte. I told her I was in Warsaw, Poland and we had been desperately trying to locate as we had been without our luggage for two weeks and had to purchase needed clothing, medication, and toiletries. I informed her to hold the luggage as I would be flying to Charlotte on American Airlines flight 1733 and would be at baggage claim by 5:15 PM to pick up our two bags.
Apparently Airberlin made no effort to locate us, or call the number on the baggage as American Airlines did. They sent our luggage to JFK of all places. An American Airlines employee there took it upon himself to send our luggage to Charlotte and the agent in Charlotte called us.
We hold Airberlin responsible, and we are looking to Airberlin to reimburse us for the expenses we incurred for the 15 days we were without our needed clothing, medicine, and toiletries as per the Montreal agreement. Airberlin has been non responsive and made no true efforts as the emails will attest.
As you can see, we were very frugal and only purchased what was needed. We missed out on several excursions with the tour group because we had to shop for needed clothing and other supplies that we had packed.
I have a list along with receipts of what we had to purchase. The total for both of us for the two weeks without our luggage totals $ 1, 510.25. We had to make three phone calls to the United States for needed medication, as our medication was packed in our luggage. These calls totaled an additional $30.00. We are asking for a total of $1, 540.25 to cover our expenses.

Sincerely

Ronald L. Brown

Air Berlin cancelled booking

I've just received the invoice informing me about cancelling my booking for the flight on 4.10 and 7.10 Berlin-Vienne and back without explaining me any reason for it. To day I'm trying to reach the service centre ([protected]) but without success, it is all the time busy. I have planned my trip for the conference, which is very important for me (so its not only money what the company promises me to refund). Besides I have booked likewise other transport connections, train to Berlin and so on. So I have to find either new flight with the same schedule or cancel my bookings for train and change all my plans. I cannot understand how can this company can be so irresponsible towards its costumers and have no respect to them?!

Air Berlin flight cancellation

I booked a flight through expedia on august 31st from Budapest -> Berlin -> JFK for the date of October 23rd. I was informed on Sunday September 24 that my flight from Berlin to JFK has been cancelled due to "operational issues" on the end of air Berlin. Today, September 28, I finally was able to get in touch with air Berlin after being on hold for 1 hour and 20 minutes and was informed that air Berlin would no longer be flying after October 16th.

Because of this, I am now forced to book a new flight from Budapest to JFK. I expect a full refund as well as payment of the differential of my new flight due to the increase in prices that has occurred between august 31st and September 28th.

My previous flight confirmation # is NPXTYB and cost 588.48 US Dollars.
My new flight (the cheapest available) confirmation # is 26UTMS is 758.28 US Dollars.

I am now paying 169.80 additional dollars due to this flight cancellation. This is completely unacceptable and unethical on the part of air Berlin. I have attached my confirmation emails for both flights and expect payment as soon as possible.

Air Berlin flight cancellation str-agp during christmas

Dear team,

My flight, bought on the 8th August, before insolvency announcement, has been cancelled. It was an early morning flight from Stuttgart to Málaga. I received the option to fly from Munich but this would mean to pay for a hotel night (because it leaves at 6am) plus the train tickets. This would mean additionally > 200€. And therefore it is not an option for me..
What can I do to get the refund?
Thanks, Marta

Air Berlin refund for flight: ref #: p3vfew

Hello,

My name is Tyler Porteous and I am scheduled to return from Munich to Los Angeles with a stop in Dusseldorf on September 29th. However, this morning I was notified that my flight - AB7430 from Dusseldorf to Los Angeles - has been canceled. After speaking with a representative of AirBerlin, I learned that this route has been discontinued. Therefore, I will be unable to travel from Germany back to the United States.

As a result, I am requesting a full refund for this leg of my flight with AirBerlin as I am choosing to reschedule my trip with a different courier.

Air Berlin refund

Airberlin service team,

In June 2017, I was traveling home after a month of touring Europe. After
flying from Copenhagen to Berlin TXL my flight was redirected to another
airport in Berlin SXF due to weather conditions. Upon landing in SXF, we
were requested by flight crew to stay seated in the plane. During this time
there was no air conditioning for passengers and there was also minimal
communication between the flight crew and passengers. After miserably
waiting for an 1.5 hours, we were finally informed that we would all be
getting off the plane. After getting off the plane, it was everyone's
personal responsibility to get to their final destination, which I had a
connecting flight that left from TXL to LAX during that period. After
eventually making my way to TXL, I then had to wait in a line for 7 hours
to make new travel plans to get back to the USA. After 4 hours, the
airberlin team handed out frozen sandwiches and water, which was
unsatisfactory. Finally, I was able to book a new flight to LAX around
11:30pm, which was frustrating. For my future travels it will be extremely
difficult to book a flight with airberlin due to the lack of service and
care that was displayed on June 29, 2017. It was inconsiderate and could
have been handled far better than it was.

Below I have outlined the extra expenses I would like compensation on.

Booking/ Reference #: 6MNX2M
Proof: two tickets ABC for €3.40 each + a
5 dollar transaction fee in order to get money for the transportation
tickets (paid in cash)
€107.76 Hotel A Koenigshof
€18.54 taxi from hotel to airport
€17.40 taxi to hotel from airport
= €150.5 + 5 US dollars (transaction fee)

Also, I spent $8.18 and $6.52 at casualfood kamps tegel and $17.29 and
16.83 on food at Düsseldorf airport (where I flew out from the following
day), which I do not have receipts for, but have proof on my bank statement.
= $48.37

I have emailed this message to receive a refund and have yet to been compensated. I have called the airline three times now and have still not be refunded. I am uncomfortable sending my bank information on this forum but would appreciate to be reached as soon as possible for these inconveniences. Thank you. Please reach me at [protected] to resolve this issue.

Air Berlin flug von sfo nach txl

Sehr geehrtes airberlin Team,
Christian Lenk

Air Berlin flight ab8734 berlin-milan @12:40 missed due to misleading information

We booked AB8734 Berlin- Milan @12:40 on 8 Sept. We arrived TXL @10:00, went to C-counter to checkin. We were told plane will not leave from C but at gate A12, we infact got boarding pass with A12 printed. We went to B26 to drop bag. Man at B26 repeated boarding at A12. TV text shew gate change to C43. We rushed to C terminal, unlike A12, all passengers have to share one security system & queue was long. When we got to C43 it was too late. Your colleague said our bag was sorted out & asked us buy two tickets for Milan AB8738, in full price.
Why did AB give us confusing info. System kept changing, 2 colleagues literally told us flight leaving at gate A12.
Having checked-in 2.5 hours in advance is clear this was not "noshow". After what happened, respectable airlines would chip guests on next flight without asking them to pay anew. Why did AB require us to pay full price for next flight?
We strongly request refund of€ 441, 90 for the bad experience, which was result of poor logistics of AB

Air Berlin flight cancellation

The reservation code is: OBAIGB
E-ticket Numbers: [protected]

Greetings from Tripair, Following our communication with the carrier we are sorry to inform you that they offer no alternative flight combination for your re-protection. Additionally, due to the Air Berlin’s current financial state (insolvency), they grant no full refund on the grounds of schedule change.

I have accepted to take itinerary as it stands as I have no other option and had to purchase an additional ticket to make up for the flight from Berlin to LAX on September 28, 2017 that was cancelled. I have attached a screenshot of the ticket I purchased and would ask to be considered for a reimbursement and was told to file this compensation claim directly with the airline.

I'm sorry for your insolvency problems but they have equally affected my finances and travel plans as I now must also stay overnight in Iceland and arrive a day later than anticipated after having taken days off work to arrive a day earlier.

Air Berlin cancelled flight

My family and I were scheduled to fly from Chicago ORD to Budapest Hungary on 10-4-17 and back home again from Budapest to Chicago ORD on 10-15-17. Itinerary # [protected] and Confirmation # P33PMX. We were informed on 9-15-17 through Travelocity that our flight had been cancelled by Air Berlin. After many calls we learned that AirBerlin is not able to rebook us on another flight nor are they willing to refund our money. I find it inconceivable how you can take thousands of dollars from a consumer and decide to take away what they purchased but keep the money for it. To me that is theft. I would like my money back for not only my flights which total $2304.24 but also my protection plan which totaled $140 and my seat reservations which were another $400 resulting in a total of $2844.24. We have had to book on another airline due to your cancellation and due to the fact that we are only 2 weeks out from our travel had to spend $350 more per person to get a flight. Therefore receiving my money back for the flight you did not provide is essential.

Air Berlin service at the airport

on saturday 12th, August we arrived to Wienn airport 4 hs before our flight with Air Berlin to Madrid, through Düsseldorf to verify our credits cards, (nobody else asked this before, in many others flight. Only 1 person for 8 airlines was avalable to do it. After 20' and many people complaining, another assistant came. When we arrived at the gate 50' infront, the flight appeared like delayed for 1:40 hours! This made impossible the connection in Düsseldorf, even though the ticket was bought all together. Assistant of other flight called the manager right there and she got us another ticket from Austrian airlines to flight to Madrid through Münich on time to arrive to Madrid and catch our final flight to Montevideo, Uruguay, at 23:45. (We couldn't buy the whole ticket together because of job problems so this last part was split). Air Berlin assitant gave us just gate and data's flight, even when I asked if we needed some document she said "no, just go there right now". We did it early. After 20' Austrian's assistant arrived. She checked my partner, Michal Zelenak, but not me, because I wasn't on the list. She couldn't do anything else, not even call airberlin, she said and we lost that flight. Again in Airberlin desktop, the previous assitant said there wasn't any other flight to Madrid that day. We had to cancel our flight and pay €400 more to Iberia to reschedule it to next day. After 7 hours on Wienn airport they just offered a simple hotel and a very poor dinner. We know that you can't take care of a ticket bought out of your system, but yours delays and the uneficient management of the staff caused us to loose the other flight, and not only lost of money and time, but problems in ours jobs because of delay. We expect the necessary compensation. Sincerely, Erica
