We have been a member of air miles forever and have availed of many dream rewards. We have made our way up to Onyx, however I am unsure as to what the purpose of this reward status is. Recently we booked St. John's to Halifax, had the tickets in our cart (1260 airmiles each) and got booted out of the system. Returned to find the flights were now 2144 for each flight. As we needed to book this flight we completed the transaction. Contacted customer service and was advised that there was nothing they could do and offered us 250 goodwill pts. I don't know if they could do the math but 2144-1260 is a loss of 884 air miles per flight. I asked for a loyalty number or someone in charge and he provided this contact but as this was a sat they would not be in the office until Mon. On sun I decided to check flights again and flights were 1260 once again for the same flight I was booked on that customer service had told me the reason I was bumped out was because all seats were sold out for that flight. I contacted the number on mon and spoke with a supervisor who gave me the same story. I complained and shared my concerns. He then told me that I had a 12 hour window whereby I could have modified my flights. I inquired as to why this wasn't told to me on Sat night when I called and he said we don't tell people this. I advised I did not work for air miles so how was I supposed to know. As you can imagine I was quite upset and frustrated. He offered me another 250 goodwill to which I said no. He was surprised by this response, however I explained 250 do not make up for the 1768 (2 tickets) air miles that I had to pay for nothing. I spoke about how difficult it was to collect air miles and we use our miles of family vacations, hockey trips etc (family of 5). He said I can goodwill you 750 but this is all. I said ok whatever as I knew he was not listening to me. I did not want free flights, I wanted my flights for 1260 which is what I had in my cart before I was bumped out and what I saw the following day. All in all I was comped 1000 air miles but I am still out 768 air miles. Air miles you could have made this experience much more enjoyable for a loyal customer. You could have done what was right. My husband and daughter will be travelling to Atlantics for hockey, however I will be missing it due to this air miles error. I say air miles error as I was bumped out and when I contacted customer service I was not told I could modify my flights. I was told by the supervisor that when he comped me this would be a 1 time deal. At that time he could have changed my tickets and he chose not to. Shame on you!
onyx benefits
I have recently been promoted to onyx status for air miles rewards... People don't bother killing yourselves to reach this status... It is absolutely useless... All they have done is increase the number of air miles required for any destination and then tease you with lower price per air mile option by suggesting there is no seats available... Even if you try to book months in advance.. The program is becoming a joke... Shame on the air miles rewards program... Will be changing to new reward program soon

I have been visiting my local Metro and using my Airmiles card there whenever I purchase anything. I have tried to redeem my Airmiles for cash however, I was informed by a staff member that I need to convert my 'dream miles' into 'cash miles'. After a decade of not using my points, I finally figured out my online credentials and converted my air miles to cash miles. I proceeded to go to a Shell gas station to finally redeem gas for airmiles and I was halted as now I find out that my previous miles actually do not convert into cash miles. I find this so frustrating as it literally makes my points useless. I barely use my airmiles and the one time I tried to I couldn't due to Airmiles policy. I already had a bad impression of Airmiles due to their terrible point system but this actually just confirmed my previous perception of them. I also spoke to a customer representative who informed me that I could use my miles to complete a short haul flight if I wanted to. I have zero plans to travel but it would have been a nice little bonus to finally use my points for gas - which is more of a necessity for me at this point. Once I use these miles on useless products that I don't need, I will be cancelling my Airmiles card.

I have been collecting these waste of time air miles for years and can never get enough for a trip so I decided to use them on a "reward".
I ordered 2 thinkware dash cams. These were NOT at all what I had expected so I tried to call customer service to return them. You cannot get through to a warm body. A few days later I tried again and got a live chat. I was informed I could not return them. They do not accept returns of any kind. Are you kidding me? Who has ever heard of no returns. These do not have a screen and are not what I want. I even called the head office of thinkware to see if they would take them back and let me pay money to upgrade to the models I would like, They could not help me.
So, after many years of collecting, this is what I got, two useless devices that I wont be able to use. Again today I called air miles and again, the push button run around.

I had two different air miles accounts I have lost the cards and when I call to get another card about 4-5 years back they would not issue me one because I could not tell them the address I originally got the card sent to, I have lived in 6 difdent addresses and 3 different cities since I originally got the cards. So I tried again at the beginning of this year 2018 and they issued me a new card but when I call to get them to merge my accounts they said my points were gone! I had roughly 2500 miles combined. And the lady on the phone would not let me speak to her supervisor..

I am very upset of how I was a ripped off with the Airmiles Dream points required for the Escape Movie package. It costed me too many Airmiles Dream points for what the value of the costs of movie package is worth in market value. I thought with the amount of points that is required, there would be 2 tickets, but only one ticket for two adults admission. Airmiles should consider how much the value of the Movie package cost and adjust the Airmiles Dream points required. 425 Airmiles Dream points for the movie package, which is worth in approx. $25. The Cash Back at the retailer stores are more reasonable 95 Airmiles Points=$10, than what it cost for the Escape Movie ticket. Considering this program is for "loyal customer", it's more like ripping off your customer! Is very unacceptable and unjustified that Airmiles Dream and Airmiles Cash have such a big difference in value or cost for your "Loyal Customer".
I don't find that it justified or reasonable. It costs 425 point for that package. Costco charge only $25 for that package, the cost would be $30 if I got it my own? If I redeem my cash point for $30, that would only be 285 cash points. The cost for zoo voucher is more reasonable cost than the movie tickets I redeemed. Airmiles should be more responsible in how you promote items to your so called "loyal customer"
I have been a collector for years and finally decided that these air miles were a waste of time and to use them up and be done with the program, I ordered 2 dash cams. They were not at all what I wanted so I tried to contact the company...not fun, long wait time or numerous recordings, but finally got through. I have been told "they are not returnable". Doesn't matter they are not what I wanted, they are mine. What a load of crap! I have just cut up my card.

I wanted to use this reward to purchase a ticket from Ottawa to Fort Lauderdale
2 options were offered
1 was a two stop itinerary that would take about 18 hours
The other was an overnight stay in Toronto
Totally ridiculous!
There are many other options that should be allowed
Air miles should give cash to customers
There cash price for trips is far more than that offered by Expedia

Just checked my email after work (at 1:30 am on Aug. 25, 2018) and learned that on Aug 24, 2018 at 4:52 PM, you sent an email notice to Air Miles Collectors notifying us that we can earn Bonus Air Miles from August 24 to 26, 2018.
Swipe my Air Miles card 3 times at participating Air Miles stores and get 30 Bonus Air Miles. Swipe it 5 times and get 55 Bonus Air Miles.
Great, I've lost one day already.
Why can't you send out this promotional email a week earlier? Or at least a few days earlier?

My airmiles went doormant and i have to pay $100 dollars to get it out . I had no prewarning about this and I was going to use them to go out of town for my sons surgury . I am very disappointing as i lost 701 airmiles . I did not see a warning when logging into my account . When asking to talk to someone higher up i was told there was no one . The lady on the phone said I would have seen a banner saying my account would be doormant but I did not . I am very disappointed. Also when i got a new card sent to me and asked about my miles about a month ago the man on the phone did not mention this .
dream voucher for st. anne's day spa
I redeemed 4, 550 points to receive 2 Day at the Spa vouchers at St. Anne's September 11, 2017.
The vouchers were mailed to me and I made reservations at the spa for July 9, 10 2018.I upgrade my stay to overnight for a greater amount and paid a $300 deposit. Some how my vouchers were stolen from my purse. The spa will not hour the deal without the physical vouchers. Tel: [protected], reservation #51907
I have all the info and called Air Miles 2 times and each time was told they could not re-issue the vouchers to me. The vouchers have a traceable UPC code and I requested if it was possible to cancel them and indicate they were stolen and re-issue ones to me. The answer was NO because they have cash value. I said if you sent them to a customer and they got lost in the mail or courier would you not issue new ones? The answer was still no. I requested that a manager call me and no call back.

bonus air miles promotions
The way air miles promotes their bonus miles promotions are not as transparent and honest as the should be. Obtaining their promotional coupons from their participating merchants is easy to do, but unless you have a computer available to find out the hidden terms and conditions, and a magnifying glass or microscope to find out where to find these terms and conditions, which could easily be stated on the coupon they provide, you will end up getting screwed in benefiting from from what was offered. Example: mega miles promotion of march/april 2018. Spend $50 at a hbc affiliated store and earn 25 bonus air miles. What they didn't state on the coupon is has to be used in conjunction with a hbc rewards card. This could have been easily stated on the coupon, but it wasn't. I, along with 2 of my friends, who do not own computers, got caught by this as I did.. And it was never mentioned by the hbc employees when I presented my card and coupon. The only thing they did was stamp final sale on my receipt. I used to spend a couple of hundred bucks at hbc every year. Will never set foot in their stores again. As for air miles, I feel that was dirty on your part in not being transparent in explaining the terms and conditions on the coupon. How low will you go?
shell canada would not provide me the bonus miles on my pay in store purchase
I visited shell in Ajax recently and paid for my gas in store to get the 10 extra bonus miles. I paid by credit card which means I will get double. The whole purpose of me paying with credit card is to get double my miles. Before my transaction I touched the pamphlet on the counter and asked the attendant if he could give me the extra bonus miles. He said yes and the transaction was complete. He has the bar codes at the till which he swipes rather than me taking a pamphlet and handing it to him. He just swipes the bar code. I then look at my receipt and notice that I only have one regular air mile. I then say to him that he did not give me the bonus miles like I asked. He responded by saying that I need to ask before the transaction. I said that I did ask and his response was I did not. I then assured him that I did ask and that I would like my bonus airmiles. He refused to give me the bonus miles because he said I did not ask. Matter in fact, his exact words to me were "Well, no you didn't ask". I would like to then find out if this particular store is stealing bonus miles from people. I would then like to also find out how I can get my bonus miles that the attendant did not and refused to give me. This would have been 20 air miles that I lost. I am pretty disappointed that this would happen. First of all, if I hand you my airmiles card you should automatically ask me if I want the extra bonus miles especially if you have the bar code right at your till that you are swiping rather than individual coupons from the coupon booklet. This tells me that this particular shell store is not promoting airmiles. You also should not agree to add them when I ask, then turn around and tell me I forgot to ask. How insulting for me when the purpose of me using my credit card and going in store to pay for my gas is to get the extra bonus miles since you cannot get them at the pump.
I would like to find out if airmiles are being stolen from customers and I absolutely would like to get my bonus miles.
I would appreciate contact from a representative to discuss further and find some resolution.

Well the man inside had a bunch of figures opened and was playing with them, I said to the man that I would like my 2 figures, and showed him my bill. He told me that I was allowed to have 1 only, because it is ONE PER CUSTOMER... I explained to the man how the Air Miles Marvel worked and that it was not based on customers - it was based on each $30 spending of Air Miles, he said NO. and offered me one of the figures he had opened.
I said I wanted one in the closed package and he said he was OUT of them.
I had to leave without my 2 figures.
Also my daughter got gas (Oct 12, 17 @ 12:12 pm) and spent $37.12 and was told they did not have any.
We are entitled to our 3 figures and would like to see how we can get them.
I don't understand this station not having any, I go to Metro and they have boxes...

I have been a loyal onyx member for many years. I just found out today from air miles that they (Sobeys Corp. and this Safeway location) took 2, 200 of my air miles because of an error they made, and I will not be receiving it back. They are thieves and steal from their loyal members. Air miles allows companies to take your air miles whenever they feel necessary, and that it is not their problem. All they do is give you BS on how they can't put air miles back into your account, which of course they can because they are AIR MILES. They do not care about their members at all! They cannot be trusted with your air miles and it does not matter how long of member you have been Very disappointed and upset with air miles. They did not resolve anything and just kept saying that it is not their issue. Unacceptable!
That's terrible! 2200 Air Miles is worth over $230.00. Very unfair. Especially when it was not your fault at all.
I think Air Miles, as well as Sobey's, should do a thorough investigation into this to find out how the Air Miles were stolen and by whom. What error? Was the error deliberately made?
car rental change fee
I rented a mini van. Our vacation plans changed so I called to change the car to an SUV and was charged a $63.00 change fee. When I arrived at the car rental they did not have an SUV. I have been on the phone now with Airmiles.ca for over an hour. It should be a simple transaction. I want the $63 fee refunded since I did not get the SUV. They keep telling me that they can't refund because I got an economy car. The fact is, I paid for the car rental with my air miles. The change fee was specifically for an SUV that I did not get. This is fraud plain and simple.

Today I called Air Miles and Was Appalled by the way I was treated. I have asked my sister to send this complaint out because I do not own a computer or have internet myself. I called Air Miles to purchase a shell gas voucher and Sobeys grocery voucher. I was told I could only purchase items not vouchers because of some cash miles not being on my account. I was not sent communication about this change. I do not have internet or a computer to be sent emails. The agent was extremely rude to me and when a supervisor got on the call and I explained that I am disabled and was not able to obtain this information anywhere else. I was then by the supervisor "you are using your disability as a crutch" this is completely insulting and i'm appalled. I have been collecting air miles since 1998 and to be treated in such a vile way is unacceptable. My air miles number is [protected]. I have 2772 airmiles. She told me to purchase gifts for my relatives and friends or give my miles to someone else however I collected these miles for myself and am so disgusted by how I was treated. All I wanted was a food voucher because it would of been a great benefit to myself as to obtain this basic need. they sent me a fake flight

I booked a flight with airmiles points via air miles middle East .
Flight is booked 12 June to departure 30 August Dubai Cairo on EK airlines.
They send me eticket upon checking with EK it is not available neither the ticket no or booking reference and my name is not available also on the flight.
Upon contacting the life chat support they said no reply but plz wait till Sunday.
All my Sep. Plans set based on that this ticket is true and I even not supposed to check with airlines.
I need to know exactly what is the situation to plan accordingly.

west edmonton mall admission package
When there was the pressure to use miles up I purchased 2 west Edmonton mall packages. I received two letters that I thought was the admission but when I went to use them the staff said I needed the tickets (which were green and I didn't receive). I attempted to call but the air miles office was closed. . We then had to pay full price. I called to talk to some one today Tuesday August 8. The automated voice is very glitch and frustrating. I was on the phone for an extended length of time. I finally spoke to someone who said they needed to talk to another specialist. I was put on hold for over an hour then it disconnected. When I called back the message was to book a return call for another day. The process is aggravating and inefficient. My phone number is [protected]. bmo discount of 25% in n.a. not honored
Searched availability of seats from Calgary to Ottawa on June 30. One flight option given. Purchased 2 flight tickets from Calgary to Ottawa supposedly at 2280 Airmiles (each). Discounted Airmiles cost with BMO World (which by the way is now only good for NA travel) was advertised at 1710 miles. Airmiles charged me 2223 Airmiles saying they had no seats left on at the discounted Airmiles rate. After being forced to spend over 20, 000 airmiles on a poor array of products because of a forced expiry date of points, I'm done with these guys. BMO, you'll be hearing from me on paying for a credit card that Airmiles don't honor. Sobey's, Lawtons, Shell, Irving...I will no longer shop at your businesses as long as your associated with Airmiles, a business that only exists with you and because of your association.
merchandise redemption
Redeemed my Air Miles for a Dyson vacuum cleaner. Waited five weeks and still did not receive the item. Called customer service and they said the item was not available and it should not have let me order it. Only options were to wait or cancel. The customer service representative said it was all that she could do. Asked if I could to speak to some else, she said no.

What’s the point of being an Onyx member? The Customer service levels when Needed are crappy. I just lost 3830 air mile points because your policy is so inflexible. ...Especially when flights get cancelled out of our control. I think you need a customer bill of rights too. You suck
