On February 2024 I used this company as insurance through ticket master for an event that I was not able to attend due to health issues. I sent them all of the required documents multiple times which they said were the correct documents needed. I have emailed, called and used the chat option to find out when will I get my refund multiple times. At first...

Allianz Global Assistance Use terms and conditions to rob customers of their policy. Denial of baggage damage

It pains me to do this. I have been using this travel company for insurance since 2019 and have had 8 policies through them from basic to premier. I have made claims 2019 and in 2020. I had made a baggage claim on my last trip for damage done to my bag and it was deigned. The wheel on my luggage bag was damaged on pavement in a public place while on the way to the cruise port walking across the street. I was told my damage would not be covered because they have the loopholes in their policy that stats

* Your plan requires you to take responsible steps to keep your baggage safe and intact and recover it if lost or stolen.

In other words, if you buy their policy's and your baggage gets damaged in any way or lost and stolen, they will not replace it. They will use this loophole in their terms and conditions to not pay out on the policy. When I asked to provide me with an example of what would have been an expectable accident Where you see the client had taken responsible steps to make sure that it was safe and intact, that they would have paid out on representative refused to do so and when I asked if the wheel just happened to have fallen off, would that have been covered they would have called that wear and tear (I would agree that is wear and tear) I don’t know how I could have taken any more responsible steps while wheeling my luggage to make sure that didn’t happen.

The odd part is I had made a claim for this a long time ago and never had any issues back in 2019 the same thing happened to me. broken wheel and all on pavement due to a unseen pavement issue. I bet they did not have that clause in the contract then.

It saddened me to see a company use its terms in conditions in such a way they can weasel out of paying claims.

So even if your luggage is safe, secure in your possession and you have been walking on a good sidewalk, but your wheel got caught in a crack of pavement between another connecting path to the street. I guess that's not an accident but wear and tear or you were not making sure your luggage was secure and safe which I don’t know any way one can really do that except to carry their bag fully which defeats the point of wheels. That is the answer you will receive from Alliance Global Assistance for all your luggage damage claim needs.

I buy 2-3 policy’s a year that is several hundred dollars I will put into a company that doesn’t use terms and conditions to rob customers of their policy. I will suggest the one reading this review does the same.

Allianz Global Assistance Breakdown abroad

I had insurance with this company, my wife and I drove to Bulgaria a few years ago, taking our dog with us. We broke down soon after arriving in the country. The vehicle was recovered and taken to a garage, it was however beyond repair. The policy should have got us all, including the dog and vehicle, back to the UK. We ended up making our own way back, had the vehicle transported back at our own cost. Today we have not had any payment from them, despite us providing the cost of our return.

Desired outcome: total cost repaid.

Allianz Global Assistance Global Allianz event insurance

I bought tickets for an event through Ticketmaster. A month before the event my family was going through a medical crisis!

It was devastating! I called, emailed and chatted with this insurance company!

First they told me the insurance was only good for 10 days in Iowa! Second - they needed me to send them proof why I was canceling! They wanted a note from my sons dr about his brain tumor! I was not going to send them any personal info on my sons health! It’s none of their business! We were going through hell. And they refused to give me my money back. Money I needed to pay medical bills! I tried everything! They were rude and didn’t care my son could die!

Desired outcome: I want all my money back plus $10,000 for the hell they put me through

Allianz Global Assistance False Advertising for Coverage

Allianz is advertised heavily through Delta Airlines and there must be a profit-sharing. It will remind you more than once that "you need to protect your travel experience from unexpected events". We arrived to our domestic travel and were told it was weather, overbooking and then finally flight was cancelled because crew did not arrive. I filed with Allianz and while they advertise cheerfully to "cover your cancellation", that isn't one of the reasons they tell me with a letter. Allianz has now failed me twice and I really see this as a scam. They ask you to call back, and the machine will tell you to go to their website as they can't handle calls "due to volume". If they provided the services they advertise, they wouldn't have the volume. It's a terrible product.

Desired outcome: Cover trip cancellations

Allianz Global Assistance Ticket Insurance

This company is a SCAM! I purchased insurance for concert tickets back in 2019. The event was postponed 2 times and rescheduled 2 times in 2020, and 2021due to the covid-19 worldwide pandemic and state/federal policy changes regularly. Now the concert was rescheduled for 2022, however I am unable to attend now. I called to get my refund. The person I spoke with told me that it was the consumer's job to call them and tell them each time the concert was postponed and changed or else the policy would expire. Now as a consumer dealing with the ever changing world and trying to survive a worldwide pandemic, how was I supposed to know that. Instead they took my money and leave you high and dry. The person I spoke with was also very rude, gave attitude, and had the audacity to laugh at me. She also could not give a correct answer when challenged on statements she made that made no sense. I will NEVER work with this company again. Absolutely HORRENDOUS! STAY AWAY!

Allianz Global Assistance Rip off!

Bought insurance thinking it covered the trip for whatever unforeseen event. Turns out my son cannot make it on the trip.

Unless, you have a medical condition, you are not covered.

All I saw was, "Do you want trip protection?".

Stupid and trusting me. I fell for it. What a scam!

Do not buy trip insurance unless you plan on being sick!

I shall never ever buy trip insurance ever again with Allianz.

Desired outcome: Refund my money. I bought 7 tickets, all with trip protection, thinking I was protected. Of course, I want my child to go on this trip but that was not the case.

Allianz Global Assistance Travel insurance with delta airlines with allianz travel assistance

I purchased a Delta Airlines roundtrip ticket, for May 19-23, 2021, which featured Allianz Travel Assistance within the reservation and payment webpages. The flight purchased was roundtrip from Austin, Texas to Gulfport, Ms. for a group chartered fishing excursion to the Chandeleur Islands off Louisiana. Twenty four hours before departure, I received notice that the charter had been cancelled by DMJ Charters of Pass Christian, Ms. due to a small craft advisory by the Coast Guard. Weather conditions had drastically changed, and they forecast 28mph winds, and waves of 8-10 feet. In short, the Coast Guard made that decision of unsafe travel and a directive to not do so.

I immediately cancelled the Delta Airlines flight, and filed a claim with Allianz, providing the documentation that they requested. I received a form response from their Customer Service that the claim would take about ten days to process. After a number of emails inquiring about the status, as their Customer Service phone line states they have a large number of phone calls, they suggested that inquiries by sent in that way. After three weeks, I received another form email stating that my claim was rejected, without providing any reason.

Of course, the average consumer would assume that serious health issues, severe weather, and safety issues would be the main reasons for filing a claim for a cancelled flight. My claim involved both weather and safety issues. It is clear that Delta Airlines, in this instance, is receiving some kind of commission to advertise an insurance company that is misrepresentative at the very least. By doing so, they are complicit with such transactions. Allianz is misrepresentative and offers very little in the way of travel assistance.

Allianz Global Assistance Insurance coverage

In February of 2020 we booked a cruise on the American Queen Steamboat, for October 2020.

In May, one of our travel partners (4 travelers) developed thyroid cancer. She had surgery and followup treatments. These treatments were such that she was not going to be able to be exposed to anyone during treatment and for a time after treatments. In May with the COVID situation she did not know when her treatments would begin. Therefore we cancelled our trip. The cost of insurance was $500 per person and when we tried to get a refund, they said that we could not get a refund due to COVID, when in fact the real reason we could not go because of my friend's cancer diagnosis, surgery and treatment.

In the meantime, American Queen cancelled the scheduled trip which was to take begin on October 5th. Therefore there would be no need to have insurance for a cancelled trip by the Company.

There were other friends whom we would be traveling with. They received a refund for their insurance, due to the Cruise line cancelling the trip.

We are requesting a full refund of $500 per person for the Travel Insurance.

Allianz Global Assistance Travel insurance

Traveled to Yuma in August 2019 on vacation and decided to go to Mexico for some dentistry work. As thousands of people do for price reasons. Upon returning to Yuma I went unconscious in the hotel lobby. I'll just mention it was forty four degrees the entire week I was there. I required medical attention and was taken to Yuma emergency. I am now left with an ambulance, physician and emergency bill which Allianz refuses to pay. Decision was only made after my fiance was laid off due to covid-19 and her Insurance was cancelled. I would not recommend Allianz Global Assistance to anyone who travels frequently. We've called numerous times, on hold for over an hour, asked to speak to a supervisor and told a supervisor or manager would contact us in forty eight to seventy two hours. Not one call back received. Very unprofessional company and very dissatisfied customer!

Allianz Global Assistance Insurance coverage

Four of us made a down payment of $500 per person for a river cruise on the snake river scheduled to leave in early october of this year with the american queen steamboat company. Unfortunately one of us, my friend, developed thyroid cancer and in april had her thyroid removed. She is now waiting for an iodine treatment. She will not be permitted to be around any other person for at least a week after her treatment. She has not been scheduled for her treatment as of this date. Our final payment was due on may 18th, not knowing when she'd have her treatment, we did not make our final payment and cancelled our reservation. Her physician stated "at this point there is an increased risk to her health by going on a cruise" in the letter that was sent to allianz.

Allianz denied our claim because she was advised not to travel because of the coronavirus, even though the reason is really due to her cancer and cancer treatment.

Your company was extremely helpful in the past when I had an issue with viking. After numerous calls on my part I was getting no where and once your company got involved a resolution was made in a very timely manner. We are hoping you can help us with this current situaton.

Allianz Global Assistance Flight insurance

I bought my mother a round trip ticket from California to South Carolina. She is unable to travel. I bought insurance on this ticket. I'm told by Delta that this ticket is nonrefundable. I understand this... My mother will never use this ticket. Am I just screwed out of almost $600? I need to use this ticket, but with a different traveler. Can someone please help me fix this issue? I am absolutely shocked that my $600 ticket is useless now!

Allianz Global Assistance Mobile phone warranty claim

Order number: [protected]
Date 21/05/2019
Store - Godphone store

Allianz Warranty claim number: X000025472

Claim submitted on 18/11/2019 then again on 06/12/2019, I am advised to retrun my phone for repair (70% chance of repair) or replacement. I am advided that It is not possible to repair and offered a gold phone, which I reject. I am then told that I may have a Xiaomi or wait 30 days for a Grey one such as I purchased. I advise that 30 days is unreasonable and that I could have one from UK in a matter of afew days, or a week or so from the original Chonese Store "Godphone", I even offer t0o purchase the replacement myself and send them the invoice, they reject this and do nothing until I ask for progress on 2nd January only to be told contradictory information,

"Dear client,
Unfortunately, we did not receive any update on the stock availability for the model you requested HTC One M10 in Gray.

The 2 below proposals are the ones that we can provide you.

Once we will have your approval about the replacement device you would like to receive, we will analyze it and give you a solution."

I do not understand this reply as on 13/12 at 15:46 I was told this :

"Dear client,

Please be informed that the refund is not granted by the warranty contract.

Unfortunately, we do not have on stock the device HTC One M10 in Gray."

I have waited enough time and I am totally dissatisfied with the Allianz warranty process, I therefore require a full refund for my purchase, Allianz have the broken mobile phone. Sp please arrange a full refund for the purchase as soon as possible.

I am sending a copy to Allianz Global Assistance.

I am a very dissapointed customer and as it stands at present I am unlikley to ever again purchase from AliExpress.

Allianz Global Assistance Partial payment of claim

We had planned a trip to Hawaii starting on July 19, 2017, with a 3 day stay at Turtle Bay in Oahu. On July 22 we were to board The Pride of America for a 7 day golf cruise.

We arrived at Turtle Bay on July19, 2017. On the evening of July 20 my Husband went to get a bottle of water from the refrigerator in the sitting area of our room. There were two steps down to that area which were not lit up and there was no hand rail. My husband missed the steps and ruptured his left achilles tendon in the fall.
We went to the Emergency Room at Kahuku Medical Center the next morning. The Physician examined Paul, had an x-ray taken and confirmed that he had ruptured his achilles tendon. A hard splint was put on his left leg and we were advised to cancel our cruise portion of the trip and seek an Orthopedic Surgeon as soon as possible.
American Airlines was not able to get us a return flight until July 23rd, so we had to spend another day at Turtle Bay for accommodations and food. We are submitting our expenses for this extra day.
Upon our return to New York on the 24th we had no where to stay since our lodging in Connecticut was to start upon our return from Hawaii on the 31st. We stayed at the Norwalk Inn and have included some receipts for meals. We are submitting our expenses for July 24 - July 29, the time we were supposed to be on the cruise.
Paul was seen by an Orthopedic Surgeon on July 25. He confirmed the diagnosis.
We filed our Claim, complete with all backup documentation, on September 11, 2017. We were told it would take 10 business days to review and make a decision. I tried to check the status online and every time I logged in with our Claim Number I was directed to call the Company. Each time it took several minutes to be connected with someone and the status was that it was still being reviewed. Finally I was told that our Claim had been approved. We received no written confirmation of this.
I checked our Bank Account on September 22 and found that a deposit had been made in the amount of $9108.00. Said amount representing the cost of the Cruise that had to be cancelled. Our Claim total was $11, 043.17.
On October 4, 2017 we received a letter from Allianz, dated September 14, 2017 stating that they were unable to issue payment for the full amount of our claim. "There is no coverage for the additional day at Turtle Bay. The additional hotel and meal expenses incurred while staying in Connecticut we are also unable to cover." No explanation offered!
After receiving said letter we called Allianz directly and spoke to several different people about said Claim. Their final rationale was that since my Husband was not hospitalized they were not liable for these additional expenses.
We had to stay an extra day at Turtle Bay because the airline was only able to get us a flight on July 23. When we arrived back in Connecticut we had no where to stay. We were supposed to be on the cruise at that time. We had made arrangements to rent an apartment in Connecticut starting on July 31, the day we were to return from the cruise.
We strongly feel that we should be reimbursed for these additional expenses of $1935.17. The cost of the Allianz Global Assistance insurance was $980.00!

Allianz Global Assistance Won't ever buy their insurance again

So sad our vacation started from a bad experience with Allianz Global Assistance. We lost one day because of their slow work and because of the airlines of course. But whatever it is, they refuse to consider our requests regarding insurance. Their customer service is an absolute trash and they have no idea about advice they give because I called several times and each time I heard a new information about my case.
I will never deal with them again, I'm not a person who risks my money.

Dear Mr. Khamidov,

We are very sorry the policy you purchased didn’t provide the coverage you expected and apologize for any inconvenience and frustration you experienced. We reviewed your claim this afternoon. While our products cover a significant number of common circumstances that may cause a traveler to cancel or interrupt a trip, a personal change of plans is not a situation covered by travel insurance.

Allianz Global Assistance They are too greedy. Don't use their services

Guys, don’t waste money on the insurance, which the company Allianz Global Insurance offers you. I have called them and wanted to make travel insurance for whole my family. They said ok, but no one told me that it would take so much time and that they would take a lot of money from me as well. I also have paid a fee, which they promised to return me, but because of their greed I have wasted this fee as well. Stay away from these thieves and liars.
